Rebel Taco Philadelphia

Enjoyed our tacos at this cool spot. We both ordered an El Jefe, which we thought was okay, while I ordered a shrimp taco and my boyfriend ordered the super chicken. We both thought our second tacos were amazing, popping with delicious flavor and a subtle kick of spice. If we were in town longer, I definitely think we'd be back to try more options on the menu.

Yum! Rebel Taco Company has fantastic food. The tacos, quesadillas, burritos are all tasty. The service is exceptional. So friendly. It’s clean and it’s bright. I just love the look and the art. The prices are a bit high for a food court. There is seating available. It’s a must try.

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have a higher rating!! I ordered carnitas tacos, and they were absolutely delicious! Reminds me of being back in California, they’re that good! Don’t sleep on this place, it’s very authentic and has great flavor.

Avoid going to this place. I got the Real Deal Burrito which is said to include "queso, refried beans, cilantro rice, pico de gallo, crema, guacamole & shoestring yucca. Served in flour tortilla with your choice of protein". Since I'm vegetarian I opted for seasonal veggies. When I got my burrito there was probably a tablespoon of refried beans, barely any pico, no crema, , no guacamole, no yucca. It was basically nothing but rice with barely anything else. I went to complain about this and the chef rolled his eyes. I attached a pic of what my burrito contained. Oh and to top it all off the lady at the front swirled the iPad after I paid and I later learned she gave herself a 20% tip. Ridiculous.

Super friendly staff. Tasty tacos and enormous nachos. Closes at 5pm. Credit card accepted.

Tacos were awesome! This place and only one other stand in the food hall we're open but they were both delicious. Half of our family ate at Freebyrd Chicken and half ate Rebel Taco and we were all really pleased with our food. The staff was very friendly and the food was perfect! There were several groups playing board games in the hall despite it being mostly deserted by businesses.

Wow! Unbelievable tacos. You can tell these are a step above other similar offerings in the area--great value. Flavors are delicious and definitely authentic and made from scratch sauces. Must try if you are a lover of Mexican food. Great bar and Happy Hour too.

I was there on Saturday and decided to try something from each restaurant inside Philadelphia Bourse and Taco Rebel did not disappoint. The Shrimp Gone Wild tacos are amazing. I have been craving them ever since!!!!

If you read my reviews and we're talking about tacos you already know where I'm headed. Now I had my order of Al Pastor and strayed with a Carne Asada, my mom had an order of traditional tacos as well. One Pollo, a Chorizo and a Ground Beef. Another Yelper across from me had three of the Al Pastor. We all had the hot sauce, some radish and lime. I began with the Carne Asada because it's not a usual pick for me. I found the meat to be flavorful and tasty. The addition of the hot sauce gave it nice kick. The Al Pastor was equally pleasing to me but I did pick off the crunchy things that were sprinkled on top. I don't know what they were there or why they were there. It's definitely not a traditional ingredient. Speaking of traditional, the tortilla itself was a problem for everyone because Rebel Taco only uses one where there are normally two tortillas wrapped around the filling. I don't know why they would do this but it made for a miserable eating experience for my mother. She simply couldn't hold all the filling inside so with every bite much of it landed back on her tray and she had to resort to scooping it up with her hands. I was able to fare better but did not enjoy seeing her struggle. She also said both the Pollo and the Chorizo were bland. The lime was a problem as well. It it might as well have been a green hockey puck. I could not get one damn drop from it and that bit of acid it usually delivers is the entire point to it being there. I think we have all adjusted to the high increased price of everything lately not just food but at damn near 5.00 per taco and you can't throw in a juicy quarter of a lime that's unacceptable. You can do better Rebel Taco.

Not many places are open in The Bourse but thankfully Rebel Taco is! The storefront is welcoming. Stools are available at the counter and plenty of seating is available in the Bourse food court. The staff were helpful in answering our questions even giving us samples of the horchata and hibiscus tea. Both were delicious! The barbacoa taco were so good! The meat was flavorful and tender. The tortillas were also good. The shrimp tacos were good. Shrimp were fried and a little small. Taco had a lot of flavor. Revel was an inexpensive, delicious lunch Two of ate for less than $25 including tacos and horchata

Got their specialty shrimp and specialty chicken taco and was quite impressed! Yes they only do one tortilla, but it was more durable that most taco tortillas I've had in the past so I had no issues. My father got the chicken burrito and it was very tasty. The size of the burrito and sauce it came with were great! The area has lots of options for seating. My dad will be stopping by again in the future! (Visiting from out of town, but will check it out again whenever I visit again)

Wonderful tacos, wonderful people. My favorites are the pastor tacos and the crispy shrimp tacos. Very consistent, much appreciated gem in Bourse.

I was in the mood for tacos and although it wasn't Tuesday, Rebel Taco was nearby and open in the Bourse. Came here with my coworker for lunch but she went to another restaurant inside. The line moved relatively quickly and they were busy with the orders. I said I was in the mood for tacos but after seeing someone else's burrito come out I changed my mind. I went with the burrito and a $3 upcharge for meat which I chose short rib. Then, I saw some wicked looking nachos and they're called Macho Nachos on the menu. I was feeling Macho so I went with those even though I knew I'd never finish them on my own. The big burrito was stuffed with all good stuff like rice, tomato, pepper, etc. and I had to add some hot sauce on top. The nachos definitely showed how macho they were with all of the delicious toppings. But I was correct that I just couldn't finish both and can only hope the nachos reheat well at home. Very filling. No more COVID restrictions; masks only required if unvaccinated. No staff wore them. Most customers were not wearing them either. They did have beer for sale and margaritas listed, but no margaritas available today. My machoness would have increased exponentially if I had one or two but not today. Just under $30 for both and I had some iced tap water. The nachos and burritos have a $3 each upcharge for adding a protein. On the expensive side but very tasty and good for a once in a while meal. Most of the tacos available were in the $4 to $6 range.

I ordered the $12 burrito this afternoon and paid an additional $3 for vegetables and it was unfortunately filled with 90% rice. I counted about 5 beans, one side had a little bit of jalapeño, a few kernels of corn and the queso and the salsa made it all edible. The service was good, the people were kind. The chef needs to add the ingredients that are mentioned on the menu to the burritos and not skimp out. I feel like I wasted my money.

EDIT: I found out the workers do not get the tip if you use card. Please tip the workers in cash!!! ----- PSA: Get receipt so you can verify charge.....[see Edit!].... Oh, and the food was very good.

In the mood for Mexican and wanted to see what was going on with the food court in the Bourse (sadly grim) however Rebel Taco was great. Really great. Fresh. Flavorful. Delicious. Affordable in a way most places are not. I chose specialty tacos: the chicken and the skirt steak. Very different in profile and flavor. Both amazing. Service was okay. Ambience? A sad food court. Otherwise it's strictly about the delicious tacos that had me drooling for days

I scoured and scoured the food eateries at the Ritz Indepence Hall for the best quick option before seeing a movie at the Ritz Bourse and very glad I selected Rebel Taco. First off there Margarita's are delicious and Happy Hour states they are only $4!! Pour me two at the same time pretty please! Now for the tacos, I went with the cheesy beef taco which was good but dam man I am not used to getting such small tacos. Ordered up the El Gringo taco next which came in a hard shell and was much more spicy then I anticipated. I definitely will be trying more of there items and plan on possibly getting kicked out at somepoint as tequila is the one liquor I have not conquered yet! I actually did a lap around the Ritz concourse afterwards looking for a quick drink as I had fifteen minutes to spare to catch the movie and circled back to do a shot of cuervo at Rebel taco how bout that for a repeat customer cha cha cha!

$15 for a burrito. yikes, that's one expensive burrito. better be the best burrito you've ever had!

Rebel taco was not bad, as a matter of fact their elote was pretty darn good! I'm giving them a 3 star rating because of the sad little so call cheesy ground beef taco that I had for 4.00 but hey lets first start from the beginning. So Rebel taco is located inside the beautiful bourse. It was really crowded but the line moved quickly and it only took about three minutes for me to get my food. I ordered the elote- mexican street corn which consist of mayo, crema, chili powder and cojita cheese. Good thing I wasn't on a date cause eating an elote can get pretty messy, it is definitely not first date recommended! Guys I wanted to really tear the corn up cause it was so delicious but since I was in public I ate as dainty as I could. Cause I'm a lady! lol Then I tried my sad taco and it was bite size small and flavorless smh. Overall if you like elote corn I would recommend Rebel Taco. I paid about 5.00 and it was worth every penny!

Rebel Taco (Bourse) offers a nice, varied selection of tacos and other popular Mexican items. The food is fresh and the taste is above average. Its a little pricey- I paid $8 for two tacos which I ate in under 5 minutes and was still hungry. In all fairness to Rebel, that's standard pricing for the Bourse. Plus I do have a big appetite, so $8 might fill you up just fine. The offer your standard drinks, plus Mexican sodas and alcohol. Overall, definitely a place worth checking out at least once, especially for taco fans (and who isn't?)

Ordered from this place online through the links they have posted on Google I got there they told me they don't participate in online ordering and that they wouldn't make the food that I ordered and showed them a receipt of. The office I work in orders multiple times a week for dozens of people we will not be trying to order from here again

Love it! Their tacos are delicious! I tried it during a Yelp event and it was super tasty, I will definitely go back here for lunch or dinner as soon as I can.

My first visit to Rebel Taco at the Bourse in Philly was fantastic. The burrito was so delicious I could not wait to visit again. The pandemic hit and it was a few years before I went again. That was yesterday. I ordered the beef burrito and was so excited to finally have the first time experience again. However it was deeply disappointing. The burrito was extremely sallty, was filled mostly with rice and had a bitter taste that with every bite did not get any better. And to make matters worse, it cost $16 to which I added a tip. Tossed most of it and went to the Reading Terminal for a proper lunch. Rebel Taco, please do better.

A great hidden gem of a place. Unfortunately I didn't try out their drinks, it wasn't happy yet. I tried the shrimp tacos and El Pastor taco. Delicious! You have to try it out if you can. Not much of a variety of soda drinks, they should add rice and beans as a side though. Overall, decent place.

Total surprise. Best vegetarian Mexican food I've had in the last few years! The menu is really limited, but honestly, the veggie tacos were so spicy and intricate and flavorful, I'll be back for these every week. I agree with the other reviewer - a side of rice and beans would be perfect. In all the times I've been to the Bourse, I never considered this place due to its cringey, aggressively faux-hipster branding. Also, $9 for 2 little tacos is pretty rough. But they were seriously good enough to go back! That's saying a lot. It's one of the few places there that's open for dinner, but only till 7pm, I think? Hopefully the bar part will reopen someday.

After walking around the Bourse hall looking for food, I decided to get something Rebel taco as I love Mexican food and the area for it looked nice. I wanted to get the cactus vegetarian taco but they didn't have anymore left so I decided to get the nachos with chicken. The nachos were really good! Usually I drench everything I eat with sauce but I didn't have to add anything to these. The avocado cream and the pick were so flavorful. The grilled chicken on the nachos was also really flavorful as well as melted in your mouth. I found quite a few chips that were not cooked well and that's the only reason I gave it four stars. The quantity of the dish was also quite large. I would def go back to try the tacos.

Located in The Bourse sits this little taco place. My girlfriend and I were initially drawn to it because of the upscale street vendor style aesthetic and the festive music playing from their speakers. The menu is not particularly inspiring, and the food was just as on-par. The burrito was way more rice than it was anything else and just lacked any depth of flavor. The tacos looked meaty, but there just wasn't anything to set them apart. It was just tortilla, meat, onion, cilantro. Maybe it was an off night. But the best quality about this place was the phenomenal server that was behind the counter predicting all of our needs while engaging in conversation with us.

Probably the worst tacos ive ever had. Idk who called these al pastor tacos. Uncooked canned pineapple, on taco meat that was seasoned with powder out of a pack probably cuz it tastes like taco bell taco meat. Since when do al pastor tacos have creamy habanero dressing and crunchy stuff on top??? Sorry but these tacos are named incorrectly, super misleading. Grab some taco bell instead jeez. Oh Lord i almost forgot the size, of them, they might as well be Bite size, that's how small they are.

I've been here several times since they opened and everything is always really fresh and taste great. I love their homemade salsa and hot sauce as well! Since my first review I decided to retry the quesadilla and specifically asked for no sour cream. (even though menu doesn't mention it they still loaded it up last time with it) The quesadilla came sour cream free and was delicious! The quesadillas are huge so it's enough for two lunches for me! They also have a good happy hour deal here as well! The guacamole is also super delicious!

Probably too three if not THE best taco I've ever had...and I've had a lot of tacos. Delicious margaritas, nice staff, best tacos. I will definitely be returning to the bourse just for this place.

A new addition to the Bourse. Tacos are very good but portion size is ridiculously small. I tried the Barbacoa, Carnita and the Carne Asada tacos. The fresh mini corn tortillas were excellent. All the toppings and ingredients were fresh with lots of flavor. I definitely enjoyed the tacos but the portion size was incredibly small. I'm talking 2-3 small bites each. Sure they are a bit cheaper at $3 per taco vs some of Philadelphia's other taco establishments but were talking appetizer size portions. I was with a group of 4 and everyone of us had to order a second meal at another Bourse food stand. I will try the burrito next time but will skip the bite size tacos :) PS: The various taco pictures posted make the tacos look much bigger than they actually are. BK

I would not recommend this to anyone. When I came here to eat with my family I was excited to eat it because the place look very appetizing but when I was attended they attended me with such a rude manor. The food was over priced for something that had no taste. Not worth your buck.

Traditional tacos are pretty good at an okay price. I would get 3 of them every day if they were slightly less. Flavors are good from what I've had. They have a variety of flavors that I would like to try.

I needed some really great tacos for my birthday this year, which happened to land on a Taco Tuesday. These were AMAZEBALLS! I'd easily give them 5 stars for taste and quality AND service, but they're priced for tourists so it's an easy $13-$16 for a simple 3 taco lunch. That's too much ese.

My only problem with this place is that ordering is always a hassle. Tonight, I was completely ignored, so I went somewhere else. The food has been good in the past, but it's not a very welcoming place.

I use to always stop by rebel taco when it first opened because it was pretty tasty and fulfilling. However, as of late, the food is just lack luster. I dont know if there was a chef change or if there was a change in how the meals are being prepared but the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. I guess I should have ordered a margarita so I could knock myself out after eating such a mediocre, flavorless meal :/

The BEST taco I've ever gotten in Philly. The overall layout and service could use a little bit of work, as it isn't super convenient during peak lunch hours. All that aside, fantastic taco lunch specials! The "Catch Me If You Can" and "Eat Your Veggies" are at the top of the list for me.

Yes! Finally just a plain traditional taco that is a little more affordable compared to the over priced taco places in the city that completely over do it on tacos. I ordered one beef and one pork taco at $3 each. The add on's were just .25 cents, so i added cheese and sour creme to my tacos. They were both delicious and prepared exactly how i ordered them. I did enjoy the pork over the beef taco though. I walked over for lunch and wanted something lighter than a cheesesteak and this was perfect. I have had their chicken taco before which was also delicious. As I waited they had reggaeton music playing so, i was entertained dancing in my seat while waiting for my food. It was quick and accurate, as well as delicious. Im so happy I can walk their from work on a nice day. Ill see you again Rebel Taco!

Their burritos are very filling and taste delicious. Rebel Taco does not skimp on their fillings. Queso and chips are really great as well highly recommend. I order them and sometimes the order will be canceled without explanation, other than that absolutely no complaints and def 5 star food.

Stopped by, finally, after the re-opening. Much better options now. REAL FOOD in the Bourse, stop the fucking presses. I followed the line principle in choosing Rebel. Got two short rib tacos. Good. Not excellent, but good. Would order again. Sauntered over to the bar. It turned out that I could have ordered from there. I digress. Ordered a classic margarita. It was fun if nothing else. At $8 it is overpriced for the quality and authenticity but it is the Bourse! Not bad. Order it. Tell me what you think. So, all in all, I'm not hangry now. I spent about $20 and feel better about life.

I was hoping for more. For one of the larger and better decorated stalls in all of the Bourse, this place did not meet expectations. At first glance the menu seems pretty unique and exciting with twists on traditional tacos. In the end the only good taco that I tried was the "Shrimp Gone Wild". For having a large staff of about 6 people working the kitchen, it took a long time to prepare the food and it seemed like most people were just standing around. There are definitely better food options in the Bourse and better tacos elsewhere in Philadelphia.

So disappointed!! Ordered three veggie tacos which consisted of barely grilled zucchini, raw onions & a beyond hot chipotle sauce in a soggy 5" flour tortilla (soggy due to the fact that so much sauce was poured onto it! They were absolutely inedible & had to be thrown out. What really angers me is that these three substandard tacos cost $12 & change!!! Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Ok food but not very welcoming. I work in the building so have been here a few times. After hours when ordering from the bar, the bartender is good at completely avoiding contact and you can end up waiting a long time (granted she is usually busy). This week we I ordered 3 vegetarian tacos and they were completely drenched with their hot/chipotle sauce (which I like) but there was so much it was pretty gross and I couldn't taste anything else. I asked for another corn tortilla so I could transfer the veggies to a dry tortilla and was told it would cost $1. I told her that I was ordering the tortilla because there was too much sauce on my taco and she very abruptly said "I still have to charge you a dollar." No "I'm sorry to hear that" or "let me take care of that for you" or anything, just didn't care and walked away. We left pretty disappointed and not sure I'll go back. Service is not good as other reviewers have pointed out.

I was on vacation and decided to stop at the bourse food all for lunch. I was walking through and the delicious smell coming from rebel taco attracted my attention! All of the workers went above and beyond and was very friendly. I had a few different tacos and they were all delicious with the meat being very tender and all fresh ingredients!

I love Mexican food, so when I saw this joint I had to try the tacos, I ordered the carne asada tacos and boy oh boy did they not disappoint. Hands down the best carne asada tacos I've ever had. The only thing I wish is that the tortillas were a little bigger, but the great taste makes up for the lack in size that's for sure.

They practically refused my service. I tried multiple times to order. They kept giving me vague one word answers. It was ridiculous. I sat there for 5 minutes and they just would not help me. I therefore lost all faith in their services and left.

The Bourse Food Court was so convenient whenever I have to report to our regional office for a week I have overlooked the Rebel Taco in the past and deeply regret it. I went back 3 times this past week and crave it now. I was not impressed by the basic tacos but their specialty tacos are amazing. I highly highly recommend the "Super Chick" and "Flank Them on the Right". From the yucca crunch, the seasonings, the succulent meat, to the amazing green sauce. YUM. Just a warning, they are MESSY, and you won't want to miss one morsel so be prepared to pick up stray filling with your fingers and licking the sauce from between all your fingers.. Don't forget those extra napkins.

Rebel Taco offers a wide variety of tacos and other items on their menu. I got 4 traditional asada tacos and the meat was delicious. The toppings and flavor were great as well. My only comments are that traditional tacos are normally on two tortillas, and these were on one, also the salsa verde needed more flavor. Would recommend if you enjoy good tacos.

Amazing tacos. Had the pollo and carnita traditional tacos. Both were seasoned perfectly and delicious. I highly recommend this place in the Bourse!

The bourse has a great atmosphere anyways but add in this bomb ass taco restaurant and you're all set. The tacos are a little pricey for a small tacos. If you want more bang for your buck I would recommend a burrito. It's a reasonable price for the amount of food to you get. They also have pretty good street corn. It takes a little while for the food to come out because rebel tends to get busy especially on the weekends but it's worth the wait for some almost authentic Mexican food.

This place had the best tacos I've had in a long while. Highly recommend the Super Chick and the Shrimp Gone Wild!

This place is suffering from poor service. I've attempted 3 times to order from the place and the first time (during their soft opening) all the employees were sitting around on their phones in the center seating section. The second time only saw one person and she was doing something in the back and didn't even bother to look up to check to see if they had any customers. The third time today, I was attempting to determine what I wanted to order while of course everyone was over to the other side of their horseshoe kitchen. As I stood literally in front of the order counter waiting for someone to come to the cash register, I see one employee come over and all she does is close the half door that next to the cash register that stops people from going behind the counter. Instead of then asking me if she could help me or answer any questions, as I'm looking at her she turns around gives me a look of disgust and walks back to the back wall of the "kitchen" area. I stood there a few more seconds thinking maybe she would be sending someone over but nobody came and I just left. From the limited experience at I can only gauge that they have poor customer service skills and the staff is incredibility lazy as they haven't even shown an effort to assist customers or even man stations. If you look at any other location at the Bourse you'll see the different stores staff even when nobody is around. I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business with this level of service compared to the rest of the stores.

This is my first time being at the Bourse because I am from Pittsburgh and I loved the environment. I bought an order of chicken tacos and it was very delicious and the green salsa was great. The food was great, but the service was horrible. I witness a confrontation between two guys that look like staff members Caucasian guy yelling at what look like a Hispanic guy in the kitchen. It was so unprofessional, and I am not coming back to Rebel Taco and I hope these guys are okay.
