"Rebstock offers comfortable, country-style dining rooms, attentive service and good regional fare including snail soup, pike dumplings and venison ragout. In summer the idyllic terrace offers views of the surrounding parkland and the Black Forest, while another attraction is the large selection of home-made cakes and pastries." - Michelin Inspector

Very good guesthouse. Madam is German and mister is French. So everything is very clean, well decorated and the food is amazing. A great blend of skills. Thank you very much.

Did not stay at the hotel but did have an outstanding lunch at the family owned restaurant. Food is excellent. Look at the large salad posted with this review. No need to say any more. Service could not get any better. 5 stars all the way.

When we arrived, we were invited to sit at a table in the restaurant section, where we filled out the paperwork for the Konus card (free train and bus transport in the Black Forest) and were served a refreshing drink. Our room was directly over the river, and was huge by European standards, and by some US standards as well! We had a queen bed (basically a US King - two twins pushed together in one frame), a seating area with a couch and chair and a desk area. The bathroom was also huge, and there was a roof window there so we could get a cross breeze through the room.||||The owners of the hotel went out of their way to recommend things for us to see and do while we stayed with them for 2 nights. Honestly, they went above and beyond anything I would expect. We ate dinner at the restaurant (actually on the terrace) both nights and it was excellent. They do offer a half portion for smaller appetites, and I learned my lesson after the first evening meal!||||Breakfast on the first morning was overwhelming - apparently we were the only guests and there was a table set up with more food than any two people could ever hope to eat. Because there were more guests the second morning, a breakfast buffet was set up, which still had lots and lots of choices.||||Although we didn't spend a lot of time in the town of Oppenau, it seemed to be a very relaxing place. We walked around the town, and up the mountain that overlooks the town, where there is a very nice walking path. We did not visit the nearby waterfalls as we just ran out of time. So we need to come back!||||This was the last place we stayed after spending 1 week in Iceland and 2 weeks in Germany. My 18 year old son (my travel companion) said this was his favorite place of all the hotels and guest houses we stayed in. I have to agree. I would recommend this place to anyone and I really hope to make a return visit!

A typical Central European hotel but filled with the owner's attention to detail, nothing extravagant but extremely comfortable & pleasant interior. Decent space & bathroom. A good range of buffet Breakfast & the restaurant is also charmingly decorated. Location at the center of the village & outdoor guest parking place w/in 3 min walk. The owner & staffs are very friendly. Only downside is the wifi need log in every time when log in the phone. Will revisit if ever a trip to the area again!

We stayed here for our third night on a two week trip round Europe, we arrived from Spa Francorchamps after hours of rain to stunning sunshine. On finding the entrance to the hotel (in motorbike gear it feels much more tiring) we were greeted by the hotel manager who is very friendly and attentive. She knew we needed motorbike parking and gave us access to their private garage, what a personal touch, we felt honoured. We made our way up to our room which was spacious and clean, freshened up and went for a wander. Walking around Oppenau is so peaceful, we came across a war memorial which as this was our first time in Germany found interesting and took the moment to take in something we hadn't expected to see. The buildings in the village are stunning. We ate and drank in the hotel restaurant, the food was divine and the young waiter was learning English so he wanted to practice with us but we spoke what German we could with him, he was a lovely young man. All of the staff at this hotel were splendid. We sat in the sunhine until the sun went down, the atmosphere was perfect for a summers evening, it was clearly the place to go (although there didn't seem to be much else around). As it was so warm we slept with the window open, opposite a church which chimed all night, we didn't sleep that well! If you stay here, ask for a room facing away from the church but not sure if that would help. The breakfast in the morning was basic but what you needed. We had a chat with the hotel manager and the chef (think they were married?) and they were so keen to hear about our planned trip. Such wonderful people running a lovely B&B. We would go back and recommend for this Black Forest stay.

The location is perfect - quiet, clean, comfortable and a great starting point for hiking and walking in the Renchtal area of the Black Forest. The Rebstock offers outstanding service, starting with the service focused owners and dedicated staff. The breakfast is wonderful, and the dinners there are some of the very best in the area - we have been coming to the area since 1989, so we have lots of comparative data! Reasonably priced delicious dishes and wines reflect innovative new menu items as well as beautifully made traditional regional ones. Anyone who begins their time in the Black Forest here is getting one of the best experiences possible, guaranteed to have one return again!
