The 20 Best Espresso Martinis in Houston | Eater Houston

"Ready Room incorporates Katz coffee, a local favorite, in its espresso martini. Made with vodka, cold brew, five-spice powder, and Amaro, the cocktail is the perfect drink to sip on while waiting for the bar’s weekend live jazz performances." - Brittany Britto Garley

Great space indeed. I attended spring awaking, and it was top-notch theatre. Incredible use of existing space downtown. I am proud as a native to see a group like this redo and make great use of it.

Google
Lovely finding this gem of a theatre! Spring Awakening was well executed from lights, sound, and cast! Come a bit early to grab a pre-drink before and during intermission.

Yelp
This is such a nice spot to visit to get a good dosage of local actors/actresses. It is located very close to Minute Maid park, so factoring in games is a must for a stress free parking experience. The venue is very cute and intimate. It has a small bar located in the establishment where you have the option of getting wine, beer, etc. The actors are very talented. They exuded all of the emotions that the writer intended to portray. The plot of the play that I watched wasn't my favorite, but the actors kept be engaged. I plan to stay connected to see what others plays they have to offer.

Yelp
Came with a friend yesterday to watch Dance Nation. There is free street parking available at night. It's tucked in front of Minute Maid Park. The space is very intimate with about 50 seats. It was a little chilly inside with the outside winter storm, so bring a jacket! The show was outrageously hilarious and the cast were so brilliant. Even seated in the furthest back row, Row I, the acoustics were great. I'm a bit short so next time I would probably choose a seat in the first couple rows as I had to willow around to see what was going on. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Highly recommend checking out this place and the performances here!

Yelp
I've been to this establishment many years ago, and I had a fantastic time, and I decided to go again recently and see a play that was exciting. The acting was spot on and kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the hour and a half show. sound affects were loud which gave the show extra entertainment. I'm glad I was able to bring friends and family with me to this event because this with a night to remember; before the show, there's a bar, and they also serve croissants, nothing significant or Major but something friendly and personal I can't wait to go again and see another great play and highly recommend this establishment for anyone that loves to see live acting

Yelp
Great job!! This place is so quaint I love it so much! We went to see "Put your house in order" bravo IKE!!! The bae was very welcoming and cute. Will return for other performances l.

Yelp
Eeeeeeee!!!! Just saw Put Your House in Order and can honestly say this was literally the scariest play I have ever seen. Won't say *too* much about the content of the play as I don't want to include any spoilers. Let's just say that after we left the theater and got in our car (it was night), I was watching the pedestrians around me and was thinking "RUN OVER THEM, I DON'T CARE! JUST GO GO GO!" Not because I'm a lunatic or a bad person (I am not either of those) but because I was that freaked out from the play and wanted to get home alive. As for the theater itself, it's a small venue, but that's actually great because there are no bad seats. I bought front row seats because I didn't know what to expect, but I was not disappointed by anything. The cast was amazing! The set was great! My husband commented on that and how he like the extra touches made for the sake of realism such as the drill, lights, even smell. There is a reasonably priced bar in front and tables outside while you are waiting. We had no trouble with parking (Thankfully). This was our first time but will *not* be our last. I look forward to more in the future, hopefully with the same actors. If I had to make one small suggestion, it would be to turn the volume down on the music. I'm afraid it was a little loud for us old timers ; )

Yelp
My husband and I came here for Hansel & Gretel opera performance. What a neat little space! When you walk in, there is a bar on the right side with a cozy sitting area. The check-in area is a small desk right by the entrance. Once the doors opened for the performance area, we walked in to find seats. They don't have assigned seating, so make sure to go in as soon as the doors open! There were chairs just enough for 20-30 people. It was such an intimate setting with very minimal stage props. The room was foggy and they decorated the room with tree branches, so it felt like we were inside the woods! There was one piano in the room and the pianist played during the whole 60-min performance. The audience sat in a circular shape around the stage. The performers were literally 2 feet in front of me. The performers were so talented and we really enjoyed the opera. Hansel & Gretel is going on from December 7-23, so make sure to check it out!

Yelp
We came for the first time and sadly did not enjoy the performance or the space. The performance did not seem professional and the theater has terrible sight lines. If you are seated in the first two rows, then perhaps you can enjoy it but otherwise all you see are the heads of other audience members. The actors are down below and it's really hard to see so you lose interest. Also, the performance we came to see was advertised as an immersive experience, which it wasn't at all, it was just a regular performance. I really wanted to love it because I love theater and want to support local companies. However, I was embarrassed to bring my friends along.

Yelp
If you want to have an intimate experience with a live theatre, you've come to the right venue. Quality plays in an intimate setting. Holds about 80 people. Check out their schedule. Located on the northeast corner of downtown Houston across from the Houston Astros baseball stadium.

Yelp
An awesome space for artists, thinkers, and cool minds alike to gather and express themselves. A real diamond in the rough in the city of Houston. The city's been long overdue for an arts overhaul and Rec Room is leading the way. Plus they serve beer!! Don't be a fool and miss any of their world class programs.

Yelp
Bravo just for the fact Rec Room exists. It's a wonderful venue in the shadow of Minute Maid Park. The performers are first rate and I'm expecting many innovative productions.

Yelp
Houston has needed a performance and theatre space like this. You can go practically any night of the week and be entertained. You can also have some delish adult bevies too! You gotta have a night out at Rec Room.

Yelp
Rec Room is a especial place in downtown to enjoy arts and socialize with your neighbors. I went today for Hump day and had a great time. Thanks Stephanie and Matt for creating this new social space in town.

Yelp
Best $13 plastic cup of mediocre cab I ever had. Outside of the ridiculous and unexpected pricing, I really l the little bar and it's a fun theatre space. I've really enjoyed the shows here and will go back. Till then, if you're gonna serve me expensive wine at least put it in a glass!

Natalie B.

Yelp
Awesome venue presenting fun, interactive, and original work. Run and staffed by the friendliest crew in town. 12/10. Highly recommened for an A+ experience.
