Went here because of a server's post about the event exclusive vegan menu they were trying out for the weekend. I've honestly skipped over this place many times, the name and logo never drew me in and I hadn't heard any mention of vegan items so I had no reason to really visit. That all changed the day I found their post though, they had a nice wide selection of vegan dishes they were testing.
The only odd thing is that they still had a big piece of paper on all their doors that said "FALL HOURS", ending at 4pm and such. It's well into winter now, and the sign confused me at first because I read earlier that the place was open. I think it would've been better if they put a sign outside that said something like "Fire and Ice Exclusive Menu Jan 18-19 Only" or something, because I thought I must've been mistaken at first with the sign. The place was empty save for a family of four or five at a table. Guessing that's because this wasn't regular operating hours.
The staff was super friendly! Marie was our waitress, knew how to write her name upside down which was impressive, and she was kind. Met the server (Micheal?) that pitched the vegan menu idea to the owners, he said it was the best place he's ever worked so that was cool.
I really hope they do incorporate more vegan items into their menus, otherwise I can't really come back lol! I would also suggest they try using the sidewalk signs- both Chomp and Bean and Leaf have advertised their new vegan options with them and they have certainly worked on me and would work on others too.
For dinner, I got this dish called the Bunh Mi, a vegan Vietnamese sandwich on a hoagie roll with sausage, mayo, pickled daikon & carrot, and other garnishes with French fries. The French fries tasted really fresh and nice, I picked the Bunh Mi because it was something I haven't really had before, so I can't say with certainty that it tasted best compared to other Bunh Mi's, but it was tasty!
Someone later posted a picture of the Buddha Bowl and I wish I had gotten that as well, I hope they see the success a couple of accessible options could bring to them and make a spot on their regular menus, I heard they may be experimenting with vegan tofu scrambles, that should be fun!
