The Best Breweries in Vancouver, Washington and Its Surrounding Towns | Eater Portland

"This newish Port of Washougal-based brewery has quickly become known for carefully crafted, fleece-colored beer like their signature RBW lager, a straightforward American lager that won bronze at the 2024 Washington Beer Awards. An outstanding rotating food truck roster parked outside of the taproom with standouts like Pi Square Detroit pizza, barbecue master Flavorsmyth, and Filipino street food and rice bowls from Kali Kantina have made Recluse a Columbia Gorge beer destination." - Rachel Pinsky

Off the beaten path but worth a visit. Industrial vibe atmosphere and location. Plenty of parking. No tasting flights but they offer free tasters, which is very nice. Pretty good pale ale and Czech amber, both well balanced. The West Coast IPA was solid. Solid stream of customers on opening day, plenty of seating. A variety of beers to go as well.

Great little brewery. We had an IPA and a German Pils. Both were excellent. Friendly beer server was willing to talk about the beers Big selection of their own beers in cans are available.

Super cool new brewery in Washougal! It is easily accessible from the Captain William Clark Park Trail. Good selection of beer and NA beverages, as well as bar snacks. The decor is so fun and colorful, I love it! Definitely recommend checking out Recluse Brew Works!

Fun find here in Washougal! Nice brewery, some ciders, non alcoholic options too. Bagged snacks, but food trucks on some days too. Great service! Thank you! 12/17/23. Come check it out!

Google
Found it "by accident" when looking for a food Pop-Up. They've only been open since December. Being from out of town, it was not that hard to find, but driving in, I was wondering if I was going th wrong way because it's so far back in the industrial park!

Washougal's best kept secret, nestled away in the SE corner of the city. Some of the most tasty lagers, pilsners, and by far, best playlists of music in the area. Pro-tips: Need an excuse to visit while exercising or just enjoying life? 1) Park near Pendleton and walk the dike down to Recluse. RT = ~3.5mi, mostly flat and the views of the Columbia River against Mt Hood and beer break are 💯 2) Want to exercise but #1 is too long? Park at Cottonwood Beach then walk down to reduce the distance by more than half. 3) Feeling it and love nature? See #1 and add Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge to your nature hike/walk, bird viewing, beer enjoying round trip. Note: A) Non-alcoholic options available B) Bathrooms available near midpoint at Cottonwood Beach Cheers! 🍻

Came here after a recent discovery off of Google Maps while locating a hike at the local preserve/nature trail. We live in Camas and have visited the across-street recycling faculty numerous times, but must’ve been before this brewery opened. Please give these guys a TRY and support local breweries. The beer was damn good. Music played can be enjoyed by anyone, plus they had a local Portland food truck for which must have been the best chicken parmigiana sandwich around!! We’re from the east coast and rooted in the NE, so I can speak for the sandwich. Do try this brewery and find a new spot to guzzle PNW beer:-)

Yelp
Just had Recluse Brew Works recently and was very impressed with the two beers that Steve and I had! The first one was the Czech Style Amber Lager. This was a nice, smooth beer to enjoy. I liked the malts with this one. And the fact that it's a lager always gets me excited as I am always about lagers these days! The second beer that we had from Recluse was the was the German Style Pilsner. I think we even liked this one more with it's crisp and clean flavor profile. Not only do we get excited when we can have lagers but we get absolutely thrilled when we can have a pilsner... a really good pilsner at that!

Yelp
Nice new brewery taproom in Washougal. They have a solid variety of their own beers on tap, and we were happy they had a dark beer, which was quite good (they got a bonus star for the variety of beers...so many places are IPA-heavy, we're glad this new brewery has is brewing seceralnd deferent styles). There is ample seating inside at regular tables, high tops, the bar, and a couple of soft chairs. They also had some eclectic good music playing on the speakers. They don't have a kitchen, but they often have food trucks, so follow them on social media for updates. They are located way back in an industrial complex, so there aren't any other nearby food options, so plan accordingly if you want to eat. Based on their location, I don't think they have an outdoor patio. They also only have one public restroom, which was an issue when we were there because a family with younger kids was there and one of the kids decided to stay in the bathroom for 20 minutes, when several patrons & food truck staff needed to go. The biggest easy thing they could improve is they only had 2 space heaters in there, and they definitely could use 2 more on the other side of the seating area since it's a big open brewery space and it was quite cold outside. We would have stayed longer and had another beer, but we were cold and didn't want to sit there with out coats on.

Yelp
We are trying to go to a new brewery once or twice a month! This past weekend we hit up Washougal, Wa. And went to Recluse. What can I say? It's so nice inside, very well done and inviting. They didn't have any hazy ipas so that was a bummer, but she poured me some samples and I found an ipa I liked. Everyone really enjoyed it here and the service was A+++

Yelp
Thought the IPA was really good as not overly bitter like many others do it. They had a food popup when we went (Kali Kantina) that quite tasty. Space is comfortable as it isn't too packed with extra stuff and the seating is quite soft for just a relaxed environment. Wish they did a taster flight but they do let you sample so still worked out well.

Yelp
Love this place, vibe is good, and I've enjoyed every beer I've tried. Love the food carts and sitting outside when we actually get nice weather.

Yelp
The beer is good - but very expensive! They charge $7 for a 0.4L, (13 oz), glass of IPA. That's $8.60 per pint, plus $0.73 tax, and $1.55 tip, (18%) for a total of $10.88. Wow! nearly $11 for a pint of IPA. Got to be by far the most expensive pint of beer in Camas/Washougal area :(
