Best Coffee I’ve had in a long time. Excellent customer service from the top down. The owner is very friendly and welcoming as well, and proudly shared her inspiring story behind the coffee. The shop itself is small yet quaint, and provides room for seating where you can get access their WiFi and get some work done.

Coffee so good I went twice in one day. Love the atmosphere and the secluded back patio! (Didn't rate the food because they only serve baked goods and I didn't try anything but the coffee is tremendous!

Recreo is such a gem in the area. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by delicious smells, smiles, and happy people - customers and staff alike. You can tell they've built quite the loyal customer base - the customers and baristas recognized each other, knew each others' names, and even commented on the barista's new braids! It's a nice place to catch up with a friend, bring the kids, or do some work. The espresso is high quality and the food offerings are also top notch. Parking can be a little rough during peak hours but there's a residential side street nearby with parking usually available. Highly recommend supporting this wonderful, high quality small business!

Super cute small cafe with excellent coffee! I was so excited to try it straight from the roasters themselves and did not disappoint! The almond joy latte was lovely, definitely was more just a coconut flavor but I felt a lot of joy drinking it!

Yes, you could go to the widely known coffee shop chain down the street. Their automated machines produce consistent drinks, but they don't use premium coffee beans and the results pass only minimal standards. For a superior cup and better baked goods, my husband and I always return to Recreo when we visit family In the area. At first, we were a little disappointed to not see our favorite barista, Eden. But, our coffee drinks were still perfection. When we had a chance to catch up with Eden, we learned he had personally trained the new barista. As a former CEO, I know it is difficult to find great staff and doubly difficult to find great staff with the ability to train others to be great at their jobs. Fortunately, Recreo has mastered both the staffing and management of their business. Our drinks are always consistently prepared. And, the staff create a warm, welcoming environment. So, treat yourself to a premium brew. Hopefully, when you stop by, the weather will be nice and you can hang out in the patio out back. My husband and I call it "Eden's Garden". With beautiful flowering plants and tables it is the perfect place to relax.

I love it here so so much. The "secret" garden patio is my happy place. My go to is the cold brew and I also really like their Don Carlos micro lot. I appreciate a nice strong, unsweetened matcha too. Great owners and great coffee!

Great local coffee spot in West Roxbury. Barista very welcoming. My vanilla latte over ice was perfectly prepared with fresh pulled espresso so tasty compared to other places that use a concentrate. Cute cafe in historic building with outdoor seating in a private courtyard. Definitely worth a spot if you are in the area.

really loved the sustainability aspect of this place. enjoyed the coffee but maybe i need to come back to try others because i was not impressed despite seeing the care that goes into the place. i ordered the pistachio cold brew and i was thinking that the pistachio flavor would be mellow and natural, but the flavor they use is artificial and is similar to the pistachio cannoli flavor that can be found around the city. some people like it but it's just not for me. service was quick and easy.

The downtown version of this restaurant is in City Hall, so note you will have to go through a metal detector to get coffee here! The service was subpar, the worker didn't seem too keen on answering any of my questions. What I love about this coffee shop is the sourcing and story. Recreo is run by a family who has a coffee bean farm in Nicaragua, and they source all their beans from there, so it's single source-- which is amazing! Unfortunately, they only had drip light roast, which had a full flavor, but I have never been too big of a fan of light roast. So to me, it was really good for a light roast but not my favorite. I also got an iced latte, which only comes in a 16 or 20oz. I had them make the 16oz with less milk, and it still came out a little too milky for my taste, but had a nice flavor. One thing I really appreciated about Recreo were their reasonable prices! For the drip coffee, iced latte, and a bottle of water, my total only came out to 9$. If I would have found myself across the street at the Public Market, my total would have been about that for one drink. I'd be interested in visiting again when they have other drip coffees available. And I will soon make my way out to West Roxbury to try their original shop! (This would be a 3.7 star if they would let me!)

Great experience in this small coffee shop on a Saturday morning! Lots of coffee options - iced and hot, different flavors, and different coffee brews. Service was relatively efficient given that it was quite busy. My extra hot latte wasn't actually extra hot, but it was tasty and reasonably priced.

Cozy cafe with a few tables, nice coffee sack decor, friendly service, a hefty selection of pastries and scones, several savory options like ham and cheese croissants, and outstanding coffee products perfectly concocted. Muy Bueno.

I visit today my favorite place for best coffee and environment to relaxing my self with a soft music in the background. I get a delicious Santa's Mocha from the smiling barista Lohainee. Thank you all staff for your kindness and excellent service.

The coffee and fresh baked goods are so yummy. The staff is so nice and helpful. They have little tables to sit at and it has a homey feel. I go pretty often!

today was recreo's 10 year anniversary and it was so perfect to visit! got to meet the owners hector and miriam and they were so sweet. coffee was amazing and so was the almond croissant. had to get a bag of coffee to go as well. amazing cozy spot

We've received a couple bags of whole coffee beans from here and they've been exquisite! Even after using them months after they were gifted to us, they stayed fresh. The coffee was delicious and we could brew a large batch from them. The one star off is only because they're very much only a coffee shop. I wish they would diversify and add more of a cafe element, as in, similar to a Tatte or Flour, they would serve some breakfast items like sandwiches or quiches. It helps round out the coffee. Most times we don't end up going here for coffee is because we're also looking for a light snack/meal to go with it.

Wonderful farm-cup coffee shop. Drinks are served by genuinely happy baristas and your cup of coffee is sourced by the proprieters family farm. In the warmer months, the patio is wonderful. Take a book and enjoy the vibes.

After passing by this coffee shop so many times, we finally decided to go in. Recreo is a unique local business and their coffee beans come from a family farm in Nicaragua. This place has a cosy vibe with plenty of space to sit down. The owner is very friendly and was happy to help us choose between the plethora of offerings on their menu. I ordered an iced vanilla latte which tasted much fresher than its counterpart at Starbucks. My boyfriend got a hot tea which he said was quite good. Our drinks combined were a total of $10, which I think is very reasonable for a coffee shop in Boston. We will definitely be back!

If you want to find a coffee that really taste superb and you don't have to overload it with a lot of sugars, etc. than than the place to go is Recreo Coffee & Roasterie. located at 1876 Centre St, West Roxbury, MA 02132. All The Barista's there are very good but there is a person there and his name is Eden. Eden who is "exceptional" in making whatever coffee drinks etc. you request. Another exceptional thing about Eden is his expertise and willingness to help you. He has given me so many tips on improving my coffee So after drinking the coffees there you'll never go back to plain store-brought coffee again.

Second time coming here and they didn't disappoint again! This time I met the owner and the person who took my order told me the history of their business- which is so touching! The staff was a female with semi curly hair- super sweet and is a great addition to their team. I love how this is a family business and they are very giving to their community! Street parking was easy to find and I parked at a 2 hour limit area which was more than enough time. I got their caramel iced latte and that did not disappoint. The flavor of their coffee mixed well with the whole milk and caramel, so delicious! Another nice thing is that I like how they use biodegradable straws, which is better for the environment but also better than soggy paper straws!! Will come again :)

Best coffee shop in West Roxbury and beyond and I'm not even a coffee drinker. Best coffee by far per my husband and I even indulge in an espresso now and then because it smells so good. The shop is a pleasure to enter with a true sense of family and community.

The best coffee is Boston. I love being able to come in and speak my native Spanish with the staff.

Fabulous find in West Roxbury during son's relocation to Newton. The Yelp 5 stars were spot on. Family owned and serving their parent's coffees. From their website - "The entirety of our delicious, single-origin coffee is grown at our family farm in Jinotega, Nicaragua". And delicious it was as an Americano with just a splash of cream. Bonus stars- seating behind the cafe in the cutest patio garden! Lovely way to spend a few minutes savoring the morning!

I'm attracted to coffeeshops that roast their own beans. And this shop puts their roasting machine in plain view of the customers. It sends out a delicious aroma of coffee. That being said, their coffees are very strong and have a great dark-roast flavor. However, the flavor was perhaps too strong for a latte. I found that the coffee overpowered the milk and was a bit too bitter for my taste.

Best iced chai latte! I come way out of my way to order this drink. I like it with whole milk so it's creamy. It's ever so slightly too sweet but still the best in the area. Really nice baristas.

This is my first time trying Recreo and it did not disappoint. I went on a Monday so it's not too crowded but still busy, I could see it getting packed on a weekend though. The ac is so nice if it's a hot day and you want to sit inside. There's a few tables for indoor seating and few outdoor as well. They had a good variety of muffins, scones, cookies, and other baked goods. I got a lemon ginger scone that was delicious. It was also very reasonably priced. My small coffee and pastry was around $6 which is around the price of one drink at Starbucks!! I also like how they give you the option of dark, medium, or light roast for coffee. Staff is very friendly and good location lots of parking. Would definitely check out.

Great coffee! From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with an overwhelming scent of fresh quality coffee. It's crazy just how fragrant it is! This coffee shop is such a gem! The coffee is sustainable and clear where it comes from. It's well made by people who care about the craft. From the machinery to the beans it's all done well and shows a level of care you would expect from a third wave coffee shop. The only downside and reason this isn't five stars was the pastries. The croissant wasn't a true croissant, it was buttery bread at best. Croissants should be extremely flaky and buttery with layers on layers that can be clearly shown when you bite into it. This was just airy bread with no clear distinction between layers. Look as far as their coffee is concerned, they KNOW what they are doing. Pastries and snacks not so much. Overall would recommend and prices for their coffees were very fair as well. Not worryingly cheap and not overall expensive.

This place is a neighborhood gem. Hands down the best cold brew I have ever had. Add some caramel and *chef's kiss.* I've enjoyed just about everything I've tried and while I usually stick to the coffee sometimes I can't help but be tempted by the delicious pastries, particularly the tea bread or something seasonal. The owners are very kind and the staff is friendly and appears to get along well. They also have a patio area hidden around the back that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and pastry in the sun during the nicer months. Overall, you can't ask for much more in a neighborhood coffee shop and the exceptional coffee will keep me coming back again and again.

I'm especially a fan of their seasonal drink specials, like peppermint mocha and almond joy latte- nothing is overly sweet, everything is in balance (and housemade I believe?), and crafted well. Staff is friendly, and they pride in their own bean sourcing/roasting. A great go-to for coffee in the area.

Delicious, small coffee shop specializing in the classic coffee and espresso combos. They have pastries and baked goods as well and sell their beans. The staff is friendly and super nice, more of a grab and go than a sit down but there is a small amount of seating. We ordered an iced latte and iced mocha and they were delicious. Prices are also reasonable. Will be back.

Recreo is a coffee oasis in West Roxbury: excellent beans, perfect service and a flower-covered patio to boot. A perfectly-sized and inviting space, it's no wonder they advertise: it's "the living room of West Roxbury!" Recreo's mission is true small batch, farm-to-table coffee from their own farm in in Nicaragua. For coffee, this is the ultimate show of "living your values," something very uncommon throughout the area. It also shows: the coffee is delicious. You should get: something that shows off the coffee's complexity, an espresso, or a specialty brew (pour over, Chemex, etc). You can then follow up with a pastry, a latte and everything else.

The staff is so nice here. They genuinely care about patrons, remember names and orders, and simply make you feel part of their family. They also support the local community MASSIVELY that their coffee beans come from. Go in and learn about them. You'll find their story is refreshing compared to Starbucks...and tastier :)

An excellent coffee shop. They're all about the beans - grown and harvested sustainably and with the growers directly associated with the coffee house. The only downside for me is that means all the coffee is Guatemalan. It's great coffee but if one wants some African coffee flavors it's not going to happen. Other than that, though, it's all good. Very friendly baristas, a nice array of coffee and tea drinks and some light muchies to go with your coffee. Reasonably priced as well.

Love the cold brews here. They are so rich and delicious (and so much better than nearby competitors)! Great croissants and other treats, too. The service here isn't the best (in my humble opinion) but I decided that because the coffee is so good, they deserved 5 stars. My experience has been that I often walk in to the coffee shop without any greeting or acknowledgement by the staff. (I certainly don't need a parade or loud horns announcing my arrival, but it's nice to know that if you're going to spend $10, that you are at least noticed.) The line to the register is often long and the staff members move at a snail's pace. So, if you're looking for delicious coffee and snacks and have plenty of time to kill while waiting in line for your drink, this is the place for you!
