Recto Verso - Review - 3rd Arr. - Paris - The Infatuation

"Recto Verso is where to enjoy coffee in all its forms if you’re in the Marais, situated between art galleries and the Musée des Arts et Métiers. Once the schoolhouse-style wooden chairs and round wooden tables are full, take a place on the makeshift terrace or sit curbside to people-watch with your affogato. Or if you’ve never had an espresso tonic, a rarity in Paris, this is the place to try one. Just note they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays." - Tanisha Townsend

One of the coffee shops worth visiting in the Marais area. The coffee is good and well-balanced. The atmosphere was comfortable and not too crowded when I went, maybe because of the rain. What I found lacking, however, was the service, there was no warm welcome. In my opinion, the coffee is worth trying, but I might choose other coffee shops next time for a more pleasant experience. Sorry, just my opinion

A popular café in Paris. The coffee was decent, though it feels like the prices have gone up a bit. It’s usually quite busy, but people don’t stay too long, so you can usually find a seat within a few minutes.

The coffee and pastries are among the best in Paris.⭐️ Every time we return to Paris, we find ourselves back here — because this place holds a kind of magic. Your dedication and passion have inspired my wife and me to change our lives, leave behind our old jobs, and follow the dream of creating our own little craft business. Thank you, Recto-Verso — you will forever have a special place in our hearts. Paola & Vincenzo

You can tell the barista really cares about the coffee here—each cup is thoughtfully made and tastes spot on. Service is a bit slow though. The space is small but has a lot of character, especially with the exposed stone walls that give it a distinct charm. Also tried the basque cheesecake, which was rich and smooth—definitely worth getting. A lovely little spot if you're not in a rush.

Such a great place — the coffee is absolutely addictive)))) , you just want to come back again and again 😵‍💫😉. The homemade cheesecake and cookies are both delicious. The atmosphere is lovely, we were welcomed so warmly and you can feel that everything here is made with love ❤️

I usually don't leave google reviews, but I loved my experience here. The staffs (2 people wearing such cute shirts) were very kind and one the guys recommended me the beans which I wanted to get for a souvenir as my coffee trip 😊 The atmosphere was really great - I see mixed reviews and I do understand that sometimes people love taking pictures as cafe from the inside and outside is so beautiful, but also see why staffs could be annoyed from time to time if that each ones takes a pic too long & too many times as it is a "cafe" in the first place, a place to drink & communicate... I can not judge anyone from those reviews. I felt welcomed and I was so excited to see the poster that Recto Verso did pop-up in Seoul last year and they were very open & happy to communicate 🥰 I hope to see them in Seoul too! Thanks for adding happy memories to my Paris trip! 실제로 함께 눈맞추며 대화도 하고 소통도 하면 커피에 대한 많은 애정을 보여주시는 스탭분들이었습니다. 감사합니다!

Not just another nice looking café but a place run by two passionate people who just radiates their passion and positive energy really well. Had the most amazing time there. The scones were good and coffee was great! The best of all is the atmosphere. It is not the cafe that people comes and scroll through their phones but really is a place where people come to connect with each other. I know how much the owners put their hearts into this just by the small details in the cafe; the design, the poster, the plates, the flowers, the notes they stick on the wall, homemade snack and everything. So inspiring :) Definitely my most favorite one in Paris. 🤍
