"Klein also created a map of cider doughnut purveyors in Boston for when she doesn’t have time to leave the city, including the Red Apple Farm stall at Boston Public Market. That’s where Tom Counts, director of sales at Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston, sends guests who aren’t able to get out to Bolton for his other favorite, Bolton Spring Farm." - Adam H. Callaghan

"Red Apple Farm’s home base is in Phillipston, Massachusetts, but cider doughnut seekers based in Boston can find them by taking the orange or green line to Haymarket and popping into the Boston Public Market. The Red Apple kiosk is located near the entrance, so the smell of freshly made mini cider doughnuts greets all who enter. There’s also frozen cider to drink and fudge to eat. So much fudge." - Terrence Doyle, Adam H. Callaghan

The fresh apple cider, traditional sugar and cinnamon dusted were phenomenal. Don’t get fooled when you want a second round to go back for the misfits their misfits for a reason and don’t taste anything like the real ones. Would’ve been a five star if we hadn’t tasted those!

Amelia

Google
Wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables! Surprised to see they accept food stamps. The staff is very kind. The stand is located inside, next to the outdoor Haymarket stands!

Right inside the west entrance of the Boston Public Market you are hit with the small of apple cider and cinnamon. The super friendly staff gave us their suggestion on infused apple cider (berry, blueberry, ginger turmeric). We got a half dozen mini donuts ($8) they have cinnamon sugar and a glazed. The CS style was still warm and light and sooo insanely good. I crushed the half dozen and almost got another. We also got the ginger turmeric cold apple cider. The ginger was strong but not over powering. The turmeric was there but not a big note (which is nice, IMO)

I was impressed by the customer service at this store; the staff were friendly and helpful. However, after speaking with employees it's evident that management is falling short. The store is chronically understaffed and places unreasonable demands on its employees. This mismanagement is clearly affecting the workplace environment and, ultimately, the customer experience. I hope the store addresses these issues soon to create a better environment for both staff and customers.

Google
I used to get apple cider donuts during lunch on occasion and when they’re freshly made I remember them being amazing. But I went back today and bought a half dozen donuts, what they handed me was a bag of cold donuts “made an hour ago and sitting under a heat lamp”. They were not sitting under a heat lamp. But they were terrible.

Alex

Google
Their mini donuts are really nice, a bit tangy, and the cider (apple juice, really, it doesn't have any alcohol in it) is recommended as well.

Corey Woo

Google
Nothing fancy. Everything was fine. Got two mini donuts. One cinnamon sugar and one hibiscus glazed. Both were good but not outstanding. The frozen apple cider was VERY sweet whereas the golden apple cider (Ginger turmeric) was great. Not to sweet or tart. Highly recommend that one.

Ordered from this store. Perfect packaging and quick delivery. Would definitely order again. Great items for birthday, holidays etc. shop here for sure.

Yelp
If you could bundle up the smells and taste of autumn in New England, it would be this store. You can smell the fresh apple cider donuts dusted with cinnamon the moment you walk into the Boston public market. Who can resist watching the donuts turn out fresh before your eyes? You can purchase single mini donuts or go all in on a larger pack. Either way, you can't go wrong knowing that they are fresh out of the fryer. They also sell cider and a variety of other apple treats at this corner booth. There's a reason it's so popular!

Tien T.

Yelp
A small store front of the Red Apple farm! This store front is in the Boston food hall, near one of the doors. On the right of the donut making stand they have a mini bar that has the prices for their donuts and their apple cider! The staff in front of both places were super nice. We were able to sample their flavored cider and order some fresh donuts. We bought 2 dozen mini donuts. They were warm and fresh, soft and not super sweet! We had a few leftover pieces, and the donuts remained soft the next morning (if kept in an airtight container). I bookmarked this place on my maps to comeback when I visit again!

Yelp
Brief Summary: - Doughnut dough is dry - Located inside Boston Public Market This dessert cafe is located inside Boston Public Market, and close to the entrance. We ordered two doughnut flavors, the glazed and the apple cider doughnut. Compared the two doughnuts, and the glazed doughnut was my favorite. Both of the doughnuts had a dry texture, and with the apple cider being a grainy powder it became very dry. The glazed doughnut was sweeter and slightly more moist, thanks to the glaze.

Brooke C.

Yelp
I got hot apple cider from here and it was delicious! They had so many apple menu items, I'll have to go back to sample the hard ciders at some point!

Kate A.

Yelp
After walking around, I was ready for a yummy snack. I found this location in the Boston Public market. When you walk in the smell of delicious cinnamon sugar and apples hits you and all you can say is where do I buy these? We ended up buying a dozen of donuts And trying the apple cider. Everything was delicious. The donuts came out nice and warm. They almost melted in your mouth. My friend even bought the old donuts and we had them the next morning and they were yummy. This is a must when in the area

Emily C.

Yelp
The mini cider donuts are perfect in size, I love how they make it right away in front of you at the cute stand. The cashier was so nice and offered samples of cider for me to try. I thought a lot of the fruity ones tasted similar which is why I went with the unique ginger turmeric one!

Kristen S.

Yelp
Ive had many apple cider donuts and these have been on my list. I tried one donut ($2.00) at Apple Fest at Wachusett Mountain. It wasn't great. Maybe they are better when they are being made to order at their storefront.

Pete J.

Yelp
This stall in Boston Public Market calls you in with the delicious aromas of freshly fried apple cider donuts. My wife and I were drawn in by the smell and ordered a half dozen mini apple cider donuts which we stood and watched as the were made. They obviously were super fresh and we walked and sampled the hot delicious donuts. They were so good. They also had ciders and such, but we just wanted sweets.

Y X.

Yelp
We were first told to come back in 10 minutes because they were making the donuts, which was fine. But then we came back later, went in line, saw a huge tray of freshly made donuts, and the guy right in front of us got his donuts. When it was our turn the lady told us she needed to "go into the back to check" and then told they were had "no donuts", despite people before us walking away with their donuts and a huge visible tray of donuts at their donut stand with a lady very obviously making more donuts. Not sure why we were refused service but lol ok sure I guess.

James A.

Yelp
As we explored the various stalls in the Boston Public Market, we got to sample Red Apple Farm's mini apple cider donuts, dusted with cinnamon sugar, and it was good...reminding us of going apple picking in the midwest and pacific northwest. If you have space in your tummy after visiting the Boston Public Market, good place to get an easy dessert.

Sugandha K.

Yelp
i went to their stall in the boston public market. i tried their mini apple cider donuts, which were $1.50 each. for the price + flavor, i wouldn't say it was the best apple cider donut i've had. i probs won't return here again, but if you want a really quick bite, you can try it out. the staff were very nice though!

Kentaro K.

Yelp
Amazing service by a very friendly person! She let us try a few of the fudge and went through the different flavors with us. The Boston Crème fudge was really good and the S'mores was good but not great.

Heather N.

Yelp
Eating my way through Public Market. Stopped here for a treat. Got a Cider and couple of mini doughnuts. I appreciate you can get a small amount, nice for when you want to try multiple stalls. Donuts and cider were good. Nothing special really but worth a try. Definitely one of the cheaper options in the market. Employees working were very nice.

Charleson A.

Yelp
Small bite sized donut packing a LOT of apple flavor. I'd say about 48 apples in that tiny donut. Definitely would go back a dozen more times for a dozen more.

Ryan Y.

Yelp
During our trip to Boston, we walked by the Public Market a few times and my boyfriend found the Red Apple Farm stall. It was in the corner of the market and the prices are affordable. He mainly came for the mini donuts, but after walking all day, we got the Pink Lady Apple Cider as well. Interestingly enough, the glazed donuts ($1.17 each) tasted fried, with the outside crispy and the inside airy. Would taste better if we warmed them up a little, but they were a little too sweet for me. The Pink Lady (hibiscus infused) ($3.74) tasted like regular apple cider to me, but still refreshing.

Chuck L.

Yelp
the cider donuts are ON POINT !! last year when we visited family in Boston, they took us here and this year, we came back, again. will again come back to bring some cider donuts back home to So/Cal. gonna make it a yearly stop/visit when in Boston again.

Sam C.

Yelp
Their cold apple cider was delicious. So were their mini apple donuts and dumplings. Their apple dumpling was like a mini apple pie with apple pie filling inside.

Tara H.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place when walking around the Boston Public Market. I tried their apple cider donuts with and without frosting. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the mini donuts here and came here two days in a row. I would definitely recommend coming here. At $1 a donut, I think it's definitely worth it.

Helen L.

Yelp
Located inside Boston Market, this stall brings all the farm fresh apple goodies to you. I came for the donuts but there are also other apple and apple cider products sold here. Lots of unique jarred and bottles stuff that I'll be sure to come back to pick up and try. As for the donuts, DELICIOUS. I came early morning on a Saturday to ensure maximum freshness. They were still sugar coating some of the donuts. It smelled and looked heavenly. They tasted just as heavenly as they looked. The mini size is about two bites. I got the glaze which was a perfect balance. The glaze was not too sweet and there was just enough of it. The donut tasted fried, with the outside crispy and the inside airy and doughy. I polished off 4 minis as I browsed the other stalls in the market. Your fall festivities won't be complete without making a stop here to get a bag or box of cider donuts!

Corey W.

Yelp
Nothing fancy. Everything was fine. Got two mini donuts. One cinnamon sugar and one hibiscus glazed. Both were good but not outstanding. The frozen apple cider was VERY sweet whereas the golden apple cider (Ginger turmeric) was great. Not to sweet or tart. Highly recommend that one.

Yelp
We stopped at this little stall in the public market twice when we were in town, once for apple cider donuts and once for a cider drink. Both were delicious and enjoyable, especially our cider that had some nice spices in it. Always happy to try local products when visiting a new city.

Salman K.

Yelp
If you're looking for some warm and fresh apple cider donuts in the Boston area, this is a great place to go! They bring all the benefits of going to a farm to downtown Boston. We tried the apple cider donuts and their apple cider- both were excellent. Portions were on the smaller side, understandably, but just something to keep in mind.

Corina Q.

Yelp
I never knew what apple cider donuts tasted like (I don't think we have them in Hawaii) so I got a half dozen of the mini ones ($5.99). They were still warm, and the outside was nice and crispy, while the inside was like a regular cake donut - just a little dry. The sizes varied quite a bit - one of the ones I got was only about 2/3 the size of the others

Rebecca K.

Yelp
This store/kiosk at the Boston Public Market is awesome. For sale they have mini cider apple donuts (freshly made right in front of you), popcorn (a different kind popped fresh daily), apples picked from their farm, apple cider, fudge, and much more. The staff is friendly. They give out samples of random items (today was apple butter!). Basically it's all fresh and delicious. Mini donuts $1 each or get a dozen for $5 :) My favorite is when the pop fresh kettle corn. A small bag is $2!

Andrew H.

Yelp
Apple cider = clean, refreshing. Donuts = delicious ... BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE FRESH!! Out of three flavors the cinnamon sugar Was the best, but I think it's because the donuts were FRESH which made them taste sooooo good!! We tried to get the slushie apple cider since we heard it was really good, but they were our :/ @hungryhungryhumans_

Melissa R.

Yelp
Such yummy and amazing donuts!! Also the best apple cider I have ever had. Visited twice in one day!

Luke L.

Yelp
After not being able to get I wanted to order at Neptune Oyster, I came back to the Boston Public Market and Red Apple Farm's apple cider options immediately caught my attention. They offers five specialty apple ciders (the Pink Lady [hibiscus infused], the Ginger Gold [ginger and turmeric infused], the Arkansas Black [smoky lapsang souchong], the Yellow Transparent [sparkling water with a shot of apple cider], and the Aztec Fuji [cinnamon and clove]). The staff offered few samples of apple ciders and I was completely sold the moment I sipped Aztec Fuji. *** Aztec Fuji [cinnamon and clove - $3.75]: It was not super sweet and tasted very refreshing. Unfortunately they don't make this cider flavor a slushy form because it would definitely be the best apple cider slushy in the state. Hands down the best apple cider I have ever had. *** Red Apple Farm isn't just a one trick pony too! It also got other cool items like apple cider donuts, flavored popcorn, apple butter, etc. Personally It was one of highlights in the Boston Public Market. P.S. - For classic cider you can also get cider float or cider slushie.

Katherine S.

Yelp
What is equally important to a delicious apple cider donut? Customer service!! The workers here are always SO SO kind. The donuts are made fresh right in front of your face! If you want a brand new batch, the workers will wait for the next batch to give you - just ask nicely :) The donuts are the perfect, warm snack. Each bite is filled with sugar and flavor, especially perfect for the cold winter Boston days.

Chris P.

Yelp
I bought the large Puritan cold apple cider for $3. The drink was fine and the service was friendly, but the apple cider was just okay in my opinion. I also tried a sample of their ginger crisp cider. It wasn't really for me. It was pretty dry (which I know some people like, but it just wasn't for me).

Yamila D.

Yelp
Wasn't able to take a picture of them because as soon as they reached my hands we gobbled them down. I had to go back to buy another dozen so we can take back to the house. The marketplace was pretty empty inside for it being a Saturday. This shop is located right at the entrance so you can't miss it.

Diana K.

Yelp
The best apple cider donut ...especially when it's right out of the hopper! We really wanted more than one but a friend and I shared just one ($1) and it hit the spot and satisfied our sweet craving! The two young people working could not have been more friendly and weren't bothered that we just wanted one donut to share.

Rachel R.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying their cider donuts but I was disappointed. Not much flavour and dry.

Bradford L.

Yelp
Wow, these donuts are actually so tasty, and leave you wanting to eat and buy more. Red Apple Farm is located inside the Boston Public Market, which contains mostly a lot of food vendors. I shared half a dozen with my sister - the donuts were fluffy, sweet, warm, and definitely had a distinct apple taste. The cinnamon sugar isn't too sweet, but I could see it being too sweet for some people. It's also probably best to eat these when they're fresh rather than when they get cold! I was a bit disappointed they didn't have any apple butter to try (even though their sign says you can try anything there). I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area to order their donuts, and hopefully try their apple butter if they have samples!

Zavion n S.

Yelp
This has been my favorite place for a year now and the amazing staff member Rajnique gave me the best recommendation for something new to try . Hot apple cider ! Great place and great staff ! Would recommend to any friends and will be back for more !

Linda E.

Yelp
Ill use any excuse to try apple cider. This place delivers! I wasnt impressed with the apple cider donuts. They were a bit dry and overall just not impressive. The cider was refreshing and definitely my favorite thing to get here.

Brian R.

Yelp
My mouth is watering thinking of the apple cider donuts here. When we visited, they only had packaged day-old versions of the large sizes, but plenty of small sizes were available. Two of the small ones made for a nice post-lunch snack. Now I'm a sucker for anything resembling fall spices, so it wasn't surprising that I fell in love. If you want details, it's a take take on a sugar donut - not too sweet, with apple and cinnamon flavors added in. Definitely worth checking out. FYI, the apple cider donuts were better than anything I had at Quincy Market.

Nephtar D.

Yelp
This great Employee Rajnique was super nice and provided me with excellence customer service. I will definitely come back for more cider. 15/10 I would recommend this place.

Allie S.

Yelp
Wandering around Public Market I was drawn by the smells coming from this stand. I've never had apple cider donuts but I'm a huge fan of freshly fried mini donuts so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the 1/2 dozen which is a decent amount thought not too filling if looking for a snack. The donuts were tasty and fresh though I can't say how they compare to other popular New England places known for their apple cider donuts.

Anna H.

Yelp
WE LOVED THESE DONUTS!! The Apple cider donuts were fresh out of the fryer, warm, and delicious. We got 2 to try, then went back to get 6 more! The fresh apple cider was incredible too! The Apple caramel bread was good, but didn't compare to the donuts and cider. LOVED this place. I'll probably dream about it for years to come.

Holly K.

Yelp
Hands-down THE best donuts I've ever had in.my.life. I was so full after eating lunch at the Boston Public Market that I only ordered 1 apple cider donut. I left the market for Quincy Market, and decided to immediately walk back and order a dozen of them!! The stand is small, but fresh donuts are made right in front of you. Packed with flavor, warm and fresh, and a true taste of apple cider, these donuts are EXQUISITE!!

Gill S.

Yelp
Being from Texas, I've never heard or seen apple cider donuts until now. I thought they were going to feel like cake donuts, but that's far from the case. These bad boys are more like circular muffins but much lighter! The outside has a delicate crispiness, followed by a pillow soft interior that feels like the most moist muffin you could have. The best part is how light they feel on the stomach. I thought they would be oily or sugary, but that's not the case. These can be eaten with your coffee for breakfast, afternoon tea time snack, or a post dinner dessert. The apple flavor is solid and never fades. They make good apple juice too!

Steven K.

Yelp
This place has the best cold apple cider ever! It's so flavorful and the lady at the register said that they don't add any sugar to it either. It's just straight up apple juice! I absolutely loved it. They have some really cool apple products and baked goods as well. If you are at the Boston public market, check this place out!

Lauren L.

Yelp
The apple cider donuts were pretty good - fluffy, flavorful, and warm. I liked the coating of crunchy sugar on the outside. I'm not the biggest fan of donuts but these were just the right size and weren't that oily. However...the kettle corn....Ok, ok, I know Red Apple Farm specializes in apple cider donuts, but I expected the same level of quality across all their food, regardless of what I ordered. I saw the popcorn cart/machine and I thought they would give me fresh popped popcorn, because that's what they advertised. Instead, after I paid, I got a pre-filled paper bag of kettle corn that was sitting on the shelf. I knew it was going to be stale, and it sure was. I'm just disappointed by Red Apple Farm, since I saw other reviews talking about the amazing, fresh kettle corn.

Tina C.

Yelp
We came across their stand in the Boston Public Market and my friend, a local Bostonian, raved about their apple-cider donuts so I had to try some! After watching them make their donuts on the spot, I brought a half dozen of their mini ones, and my friend got their cold Apple Cider. Mhmm we got to eat the mini donuts while they were warm and fresh, and I LOVED them! The mini ones are the perfect size to munch on without feeling guilty, and I found myself devouring these. They were fluffy on the inside with the right amount of sweetness on the outside. I've never had apple donuts before and thought these homemade ones were incredible! The Apple Cider, on the other hand, tasted simply like Apple Juice to me. It was fresh and not overly sugary though so I have no complaints. I'm so glad they have a stand in the Market so that everyone can enjoy their goods without venturing out to their Farm. The Boston Public Market is conveniently located near the Haymarket T stop and North End, and, as a tourist, I would recommend this place to others! It wouldn't be the first thing I go for if I'm back in Boston but it makes the list. Summary: food 4/5, ambiance 5/5, service 5/5.

Annette F.

Yelp
Come check this place out when in the Boston area! The market is happening and there is an array of foods for anyone. Our entrance led us straight to this little cute spot. We ordered the apple cider donuts, Apple turnovers and this Apple cider/tea drink which was very Good! I'm not an apple cider person but I had no complaints about this drink. The Apple turnovers were delicious; not too sweet and great chewiness which I enjoyed. The donuts were mini with the right amount of sugar to cinnamon ratio. I'm very happy we stopped over, definitely check them out!

Drew S.

Yelp
What a fantastic place for food, friends, and fun! I did a bike ride today and it started/ended at RAF. After the ride I had some BBQ and a beer or two. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious (pulled pork, sweet potato fries, and kale coleslaw - yum!!) and the beer hit the spot. The staff at RAF is totally focused on creating a memorable experience for the customer. THEN I hit the store to grab some treats to take home - an apple pie, doughnuts, cider, and some apples. I can't wait to go back and do it again!

Lou W.

Yelp
Wonderful place! There is really lovely walk through the orchard and their donuts were delicious. Huge store with lots to offer even a fudge counter.

Latoya G.

Yelp
Apple cider donuts, right out of the fryer, soooo delicious. I love eating warm donuts. This stop to get donuts is a must.

Teresa C.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for doughnuts. Especially when they're made fresh. The smell that wafted from this place was intoxicating. Fried dough doused in cinnamon sugar, you can't really go wrong. I was a bit let down by the texture of the mini doughnuts. They were warm, but not moist or addicting. My doughnuts were slightly stale tasting and kind of oily. They also didn't keep well. I saved a few for the car ride back to NY and they went rock hard after an hour. Maybe they're better when made fresh and straight into the sugar. They were ok, but not the best I've had.
