Amazing. Went with two meat eaters and they both enjoyed it! Huge menu and everything we got (the bourbon chicken, creole chicken, fried shrimp and sweet and sour chicken) was great. The creole chicken was the favorite! Great friendly staff and nice dining area. Good selection of vegan beer (all local) and wine. Quiet enough to keep talking.

I chose to go this restaurant for lunch as a group of 3 friends as this was a Chinese vegan place on my to-go list. The food was slightly short of good, in my opinion. The mock-meat were hard to chew, perhaps that's how the original meat would be. The one dish that all 3 of us liked was the 'sweet and sour chicken' (not pictured) which was having a heavy tangy flavour that overshadowed everything else. August 16, 2024.

The Service was good, the food I'm sorry to say was a bit of a let-down. The pasta and sauce were decent, but the "soy" meatballs were soggy and had a strange flavor to them. I was expecting them to be on par or better than the frozen "soy" meatballs I get from Aldi.

Great spot, loved the food, and really good pricing. Drinks were huge! Good option to hang out here and catch up with friends, and everything was surprisingly vegan, even if nothing was explicitly labeled vegan except the ice cream. Actually enjoyed the vegan “meats” (coming from a meat eater) and everything was flavorful.

I had a great experience dining here, with one of the most kindest waiter ever. The atmosphere is cozy and everyone was so friendly including the other guests. The meal I ordered was so tasty! It was very satisfying and filling. I can’t wait to go back and try something different.

The food is divine my goodness every time my wife and I take a trip to New York City. We make sure to stop by and pick up food. I’m sorry I couldn’t include any photos, but we order the barbecue wings. The Creole so chicken the fries are absolutely delicious and we ordered the crab wonton, which is really really good. I highly recommend this place. I absolutely love it. They’ve been around for many many years. It’s nice to see that they’re still going strong.

One of the best vegan places I've ever been. I tried the vegan chicken rice, and it was perfect in terms of flavor and textures. The vegan chicken tastes brilliant, I absolutely loved it and actually looking forward to visiting another time and trying something new on their menu. The lady there (not our server) was very sweet and the ambience is very cozy, so this place is perfect for a late lunch where you just wanna have a beer and eat great food after a long tiring day of exploring the neighborhood. 🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼

When I meet up with my former roommate to go to shows or films in the West Village we always eat either here, at Berimbau, or Galangol (until it closed). The food here is always good and often great—I also have a huge soft spot for vegan fake meat. This time we split the wings with curry sauce, he got sweet and sour chicken, and I got spicy chicken and broccoli (pic included below). It was the best thing I’ve ever had there and highly recommended. This place is also relatively cheap. If I lived or worked in the area I would go often.

This is a nostalgic spot in NY for me. My sister, being a vegan, used to frequent this place why back in the day, even had her wedding reception with them (I think). On my most recent visit to NY, I found myself here with my sis and fam. It didn't look much different from what I remembered, and despite being the weekend, it wasn't all that busy. It was the middle of the day I suppose. So we had all eaten, so this wasn't a full meal affair. We went for dessert, but unfortunately they didn't have the one my sister really wanted. I can't remember now whether it was discontinued or just unavailable that day, but still sad! She got a chocolate cake instead. I didn't get one for myself because I was... obnoxiously full. But I did taste her cake and loved it! They have a bunch of appealing vegan options for those interested... I recommend!

I came to red bamboo today to do the HotOnes™ hot sauce challenge, and wow! they sell it as a package $25 gets you 5 vegan drumsticks( on a stick) with some celery and dipping sauce, and a milkshake! I have to say the sauces for the season 24 lineup were actually tasty, it doesn't or didn't get rough until around 6/7 and then 8 the bomb wow! did not disappoint! 9 and 10 i rushed through because i knew if i waited any longer da bomb would've caused me to quit, and after wards i felt a rush lol! the spices were doing something crazy! say all that to say great spot will definitely come back again

In an attempt to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, I've been trying to eat more meals that are plant-based. In general, vegetarian food in the city has gotten a lot better than the last time I tried it a decade ago. But Red Bamboo brought back much of that bitter nostalgia. I mean, just look at these pictures. This is like, college cafeteria food, but for $15-20 a plate. It's on us that the two dishes we ordered were essentially fried pucks - I suppose I could differentiate between the fried "Creole chicken" and the fried "Tonkatsu chop," but it was mostly by texture. The sauces were abysmal - I was especially offended by the A1 steak sauce they offered with the Tonkatsu Chop instead of, you know, something that actually tasted like tonkatsu sauce. But it's one thing to have plant-based "meat" not taste fantastic, it's another for a vegetarian restaurant to not even have fresh plant-based plants. Vegetables and mashed potatoes definitely came from freezer bags. Service staff were nice and looked like they're doing their best. I hope if theyre here because they're vegetarian, they know there are better places to eat.

This is a great vegan restaurant I've been coming here for years. They have an extensive menu and a small but really well curated beer and wine menu. The staff are friendly. My only wish is that there were more soy free options on the menu. But it's a great restaurant to check out. You will find something for everyone in your group on the menu.

This place had the best vegan wings I've ever had!! They also had the largest menu with so many different vegan options, whatever you are in the mood for you could find something there. I was able to do the vegan spice Olympics, which is the challenge from the show the hot ones. It came with 5 wings and a milkshake that was delicious. Ariana Grande recently did the challenge using these exact wings. Such a cool experience as I've always wanted to know how spicy the sauces actually were. I will definitely be back to try something else. The staff were amazing and very welcoming.

Super friendly and quick service! They wasted no time getting the food out. We ordered the roti canai (very tasty, probably my favorite), the beef curry (yummy with a delicate broth, the texture of the vegan beef was incredible) and the Indian chicken curry (my least fave because I'm picky about Indian curries but it was a decent Americanized version, it didn't have the punchy flavors and spices I was hoping for but I did like the vegan chicken). We ordered a scoop of coffee and cookie dough ice cream for dessert. The coffee really didn't taste like coffee at all, it was odd. And the cookie dough tasted more minty? It was an odd ice cream experience, didn't love it. But would still come back here to try to soul food dishes!

OK some of the people that live in Peekskill NY may not know this Restaurant, because this place is in NYC. This is a vegetarian restaurant for real vegan diet people. I came here years ago, but my wife and I met our grandson for basketball game in the village and we went here for dinner and hadn't loss a beat, it STILL HAS ALL THE SAME FOOD AND DRINKS THAT STILL THE BEST ON THIS PLANET. Yes I will be back again and you will get your money worth and not be disappointed. This pass Saturday. I f get a chance go and check it out.

I came here on a weekend for lunch. Even before I became a vegetarian, I wasn't a huge fan of barbecue wings, but my friends wanted to split the wings appetizer. They were incredible! We had to get a second order. All of us also really loved our meals. I will 100% be back here.

The "beef" and broccoli was fine. It tasted okay for the first few bites then started tasting overly sweet and fried. The lo mein noodles were very bad. They just didn't have any flavor at all. We told our server and they seasoned it more with garlic for us. It was marginally better but then it just tasted like garlic. We asked to return the dish and they were very friendly and gave us a refund. The service was great -- just wished the food was better.

Red Bamboo is hands down one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I am in New York. Honestly we have eaten here a lot and rarely leave a review. We have tried every single item on the menu so yes, we have spent some dollars at this restaurant lol. The only thing I have ever eaten that I hated was the salmon dish. It's a hard no for me. The wings. The roti and the beef and broccoli are all my favorites but there is plenty to enjoy. We were just there last month and food was great as usual. Sometimes the service is not the best. It just depends on who your server is but honestly it's never been so bad that we complain. We just flag our person down and get the order going. This place give neighborhood stable type of vibe so don't let this little criticism deter you. The people are quite friendly and welcoming. I will go back 100 more tines and spend hundreds of more dollars because to us irs just that good.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. This spot is easy to miss, but a gem. We tried the crab rangoon as an appetizer and I got the cashew chicken as my entree. Both were absolutely amazing. I'm not a vegan, and I was extremely impressed. Didn't even miss the dairy and animal products! Service was prompt. There isn't much seating, but it is a small and intimate setting.

Vegan food can always be a hit or miss for me, and this time was a miss. The place was pretty empty despite it being a weekend lunch hour. We originally wanted to sit at another 4 table setting, but was told to sit squished next to another party instead, who had to move out of Covid consciousness. Normally I'm fine with us not able to choose our seats, but there were only around 3 other parties at the time dining. The menu was extensive! I was excited at first by the options, only to realize the dishes were nothing special. The appetizers were probably our faves if we had to choose. I personally enjoyed the Almond Coconut Chicken ($12), which had so much body. I thought I'd be biting into a soft fried substance, but I loved the slight resistance every bite gave. The coconut shreds inside gave them a unique fragrant taste as well, not to mention dipped in a delicious sweet chili sauce that went along well! The Crab Rangoon ($12) tasted like a familiar fried Chinese scallion wonton. They were airer than I thought, but nonetheless heaty! The Mac n Cheese ($14) was noted by my friend of having a candy aftertaste. And after she said it, I could not shake this watermelon Jolly Rancher flavor out of my mind. Other than that, the mac n cheese had a decent consistency. The Black Bean Ginger Stir Fry ($15) was a bigger miss. They really went ham on the black beans. Tasting exactly like the typical Chinese dish, this was the overly salty, not as delicious, version. I had hope hearing the great reviews. Maybe we just chose the bad apples of the expansive menu, but these pricey lackluster dishes were enough for me to not want to come back.

This is an all vegan restaurant with a huge menu. We came for lunch on a Sunday. Our waitress was quite cold and impersonal. The menu featured popular meat dishes recreated with soy meat. It's a noble cause, but I'd say it's more for folks who are trying to be plant-based, but miss the taste of meat. It was not particularly vegetable-forward or creative. To start, we had the buffalo chicken wings. They had a slight crispness on the outside which I appreciated, but the soy meat was very dense and hard to cut through. I wouldn't recommend this dish. We also got the crab ragoon which was tasty. The fried dough shells were nice and crispy and the cream cheese filling was flavorful. For my main, I got the sweet and sour chicken. Compared to the buffalo wings, this chicken was a lot more tender. The sauce was tasty and paired well with the veggies and rice. But still, it was a lot of blobs of soy, which overwhelmed the dish. My partner and his mom got the fried rice and southern fried chicken and the portion sizes were huge. To drink, I had the juice with apple, lemon, and ginger. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Overall, for those who like imitation meat, this is a good option, but personally it was not my favorite meal.

This place is the best! Not only are the vegan meats amazing, but the bbq sauce and other sauces that come with the dishes are flavorful and delicious. I love how the collards and ham are spiced.

Healthier than most choices for food and can cater many allergies. A good option for the VERY hungry eater! My GF partner's meal was generous but a bit bland and needed tamari or sauce, however glutenless options were limited. I returned here because their cheesecake was amazing last time and they had unfortunately run out or discontinued them, I can't remember which. I made do with the big, meaty, fried chick'n meal (recommended by my server) with tons of leftovers -- but I do remember it being better the last time I went, food and service.

I have been ordering a lot from Red Bamboo since I turned plant based either thru Uber Or Grub Hub, my favorite is the spicy chicken with brocolli. I have also tried the Thai beef curry, mango chicken,bbq buffalo wings and their desserts. The food is consistently made and consistently good. This month, we finally went to the restaurant to try. The people I brought were surprised they were eating plant ! The food was great and a lot more in the menu than online. Server was patient taking our orders and the dessert was lovely! The place was small and cozy. Must try !

Honestly, I don't understand how anyone could rate this place more than two stars. The vegetable tempura had five times as much batter than actual vegetables. The collard green spring rolls were arguably passable, but all of the vegetables in all of the other dishes were obviously undercooked. We ordered a ton of food, and the speed with which it all came out hints that everything was just thrown together. Meanwhile, everyone who worked there seemed to have a very crappy attitude, and fake smiles. If you were literally starving, and you needed vegan food, maybe you could go there in an emergency, but never again for any other reason. Suffice it to say that the numerous five star reviews this place is getting is truly a mystery to me.

We were looking for dinner in the area before a comedy show and chose Red Bamboo based off of reviews. They don't take reservations and there was a 30 minutes wait at 6pm on a Saturday. We went to a nearby bar to wait until we were called. The host was extremely nice and helpful. The staff was great all around! The inside is comfortable, well lit and spaced out/arranged. They have a specific gluten-free menu if you ask for it, which was great because one person in our party is gf and that gave them a peace of mind. The regular menu is quite extensive and we were overwhelmed with choosing. The menu is overall a mix of Asian inspired dishes and soul or comfort food. Our waitress let us know that the first few options in each category were the most popular so we used that guidance to narrow down our options. The server was also very helpful in providing recommendations. We tried the dragonfly dumplings to start and they were pretty good. We got the soul chicken sandwich, soul chicken plate, bamboo curry chicken, and teriyaki tofu. The soul chicken had a great seasoning on the breading and was our favorite. We would probably pass on the bamboo curry chicken next time. The portions were pretty big and we felt we could've gotten 3 plates for 4. Overall the food was yummy but not the best vegan we've ever had.

Red Bamboo was actually my first introduction to vegan restaurants some 5 or so years ago. This place has been in business for quite some time, and it's clear why: they serve up good vegan comfort food. The restaurant is TINY, so I usually prefer a carryout order. They have a selection of beer and wine, although I wish they offered cocktails. Ever since I've been coming to Red Bamboo, I pretty much continue to get the same things (because they are just so dang good): -BBQ Buffalo Wings: legendary and a must-order. -Asian Dumplings (the green ones): so flavorful and that dough is just delish! -Sweet Potato & Broccoli Tempura: more like a panko breading, which I really like. The dipping sauce just ties it all together. I also really love their fried "shrimp" appetizers-it's as realistic as it gets. Here's to wishing Red Bamboo many more successful years!

I'm confused why this place has 1k reviews? The only thing that was good was the crab Rangoon. The Mac and cheese was especially nasty, with a sweet candy aftertaste to it. It tastes really artificial if you're into that type of taste. My friends who are more open to trying new foods than me had the same thoughts so def not the odd one out here! Service didn't amp up my experience either. We came when the restaurant was pretty empty and we were going to sit at a specific spot (a 4 seater at the booths) only to be told by the waiter we had to sit elsewhere. And even by the end of our meal no one sat there. Idk where all these reviews are coming from since they didn't have many customers even on the weekend. Look at my pic! The emptiness of the restaurant speaks for itself.

Baffled by all the positive reviews and how it even has so many cause I did not like the food. If I had to choose what is the "best" it would be the appetizers with the sweet chili dips that come with them. They are still below average and it nearly costs as much as a main. The black bean dish was too salty. The vegan mac and cheese was a major PASS, the flavor was so off, and the smell was too. Do not recommend

Had an amazing experience, being served by Leslie and Tanner. Very warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. Makes you feel like you're eating at a friend's house. I ordered the vegan Spicy Chicken with Broccoli over brown rice. It was delicious and well portioned. It can be hard to find a restaurant that does vegan proteins well, and this place surprised me with how well they prepare and cook their food. Bathroom was nice, clean, and also smelled great with the tasteful candle. Would come back 10 out of 10 times.

This was our second year ordering the Thanksgiving feast and it did not disappoint. The meal is complete and we just had to reheat which made for a stress free day. The "ham" was the family favorite. I would highly recommend this restaurant as a go to for flavorful vegan food

Red Bamboo feels like home, that's the only way I can explain it. There's something about walking past the overflowing trash cans outside of the school yard, making a quick right, and stumbling upon the red awning that is so comforting. Bonus points for being next to the park. This round: Chicken parm - 8/10 Spinach dumplings - 7/10 Schrimp - 8/10

An old school classic. I love coming here for lunch and getting the vegan cob salad with the grilled soy chicken. It's the best I've ever had. Their dressing combo with the blue cheese and vegan tempeh bacon is phenomenal. The menu is great because it's all very vegan protein focused, so you can get clean vegan protein options (like seitan, soy, etc.) with all of the dishes. They are also flexible and willing to customize the dishes to fit your dietary preferences. They also get their desserts from Vegan Treats (IYKYK) so all of the cakes are a 10/10. Make sure you get a slice (or 3) before they run out!

Constancy matters! The collard green rolls have been a staple of my diet for years, and they are still delicious! The food quality is great and the front desk staff remains friendly and responsive. I wish they would expand to cover two floors and accommodate more tables. I look forward to remaining a customer for many more years. Maybe they could open a fine dining space to fill the gap left by the closing of Candle 79!

We had intentions of going to the vegan restaurant next-door !( go to that one) but we wanted to give red bamboo a try please don't be dumb like us red bamboo is disgusting I have been a vegetarian for about seven years and rarely do I feel the need to say this but please don't make everything taste like meat also everything was extremely THICK But the sauce held all the flavor while all of the dishes itself were very bland. My fried rice was white.. I have nothing against the servers but they were also by far the shittiest service I've ever had I sent my food back and they said they would come back to find out what I wanted and never came back they forgot my alcoholic drink we had to remind him to takeoff the food that I sent it back and-is like a money laundering restaurant? because you cannot tell me that this is a real restaurant..

The food here is delicious! I come here often with fellow vegetarians and omnivores, and everyone finds something to eat. My brother isn't partial to fake meat, and even he has no issue finding veggie forward options. My favorite dishes (in no particular order) are: -the barbecue buffalo wings -the grilled cajun chicken -eggplant parmesan -stir fry -BBQ ribs -salmon teriyaki I took one star off because the service is always slow, even when it's empty there

This review is for a take out order- so perhaps Red Bamboo is marginally better in person- or just go for apps and drinks. Spark notes: overpriced, under-seasoned watery, frozen vegetables - definitely not worth it. I ordered Red Bamboo take out for a long night of studying. I placed my order over the phone and the hostess was very professional and kind- both over the phone and when I saw her in person. The food smelled good, but unfortunately the praise stops there. I ordered the Teriyaki Vegetable Stir Fry and added tofu for $4 for a total of $19.00. I honestly cannot imagine paying $15 for frozen vegetables. Here's the menu description: Zucchini, mushrooms, broccoli, squash, carrots and cauliflower sautéed in a sweet teriyaki glaze. Check out my pictures and let me know if the teriyaki "glaze" looks appetizing to you. It was a literal puddle of water w a splash of sauce. It was apparent the vegetables were either previously frozen or wayyy over steamed and let out all their water which mixed with the sauce. Totally unappealing and inedible. Very disappointed. I will say the spring rolls $5 for 2 were delicious. The ambiance was nice when I walked in, and the hostess was nice, but my main dish was disgusting. Love spending $26 + tip on dinner and still ending up eating mac and cheese for dinner

I have been going to this restaurant since 2004 and their food keeps getting better and better! 100% vegan restaurant. Expect comfort food and dishes in different cuisines.

Wanted to try this spot out when I saw it was all vegan. They have a wide variety of entrees which I really appreciated. I noticed some Asian as well as American inspired dishes. I was a bit disappointed however when the food came in. It all looked decent but it was kind of bland. I needed to heavily salt our dishes. I wouldn't really come back. I've honestly had better vegan food in other places. However, it's an okay spot for others.

Honestly I thought it was just OK for a vegan spot. I ordered appetizers for the table of eight and we enjoyed those, the entrées were hit and miss, some were sent back and some we're not.

I was in the area and was looking for some food to take home. I saw the rave reviews on Yelp for this vegetarian spot and decided to try it out. Honey, I am so happy I did because I was pleasantly surprised with my meal selections. I am no where anybody's vegetarian, however, I did cut off red meat and pork and that's about as close as I will get to becoming a vegetarian for now, LOL. It was a cold day in NYC and I sat at the one table they had out for outdoor dining to decide what I wanted to order. I ordered and paid from my phone and just waited for pick up which was about 15 minutes wait. I literally remembering going back and forth about what I wanted to order. I decided to try two different entrees, an appetizer and a dessert because everything looked great, LOL #greedygal I ordered spring rolls which were vegan rolls filled with cabbage, carrots and mushroom and served with vegan duck sauce and very tasty. My first entree was the barbecue ribs that were Flame-grilled soy strips served with a side of steamed carrots, broccoli, snap peas, garlic mashed potatoes and gravy. I ate this for lunch as soon as I got home and couldn't believe I wasn't eating real ribs. Remember, I gave up that other red meat and devoured these rib like soy strips. LOL They were soo good and I wished I had more sauce for the ribs. One thing I liked most about the meal is I didn't feel heavy and bloated after I ate. For dinner, I ate just a little of my 2nd entree because I wasn't that hungry. I ordered strips of beef with vegetables and brown rice, the healthier version of some Chinese food. The tastes were just very similar minus all the greasiness. I finished this meal the following day and enjoyed every bit of it. Yes, I went all out and ordered one of the vegan cakes I think it was the chocolate/raspberry with a chocolate covered strawberry on the side. I ate this cake in two days. It was light and not too sugary. The prices were reasonable and I was happy I enjoyed everything I ordered. This will be one of those spots I revisit when indoor dining resumes to enjoy the entire dining experience along with some other cool vegan options.

My husband and I order Postmates from Red Bamboo all the time. Its one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always great and they have such a varied menu. Last night we ordered from Postmates and the restaurant called to let us know the delivery person forgot one of our bags. They felt terrible and the owner herself biked over with it. We are all the way over on the east side and the restaurant is on the west side. If we didn't order through Postmates, I highly doubt we would be within their delivery zone. The fact that the owner took the time to deliver our food really meant a lot. And as if biking the food over personally wasn't enough, she also threw in a free tiramisu as an apology. Five stars for the food, ten stars for the costumer service!

This place is all of the bad things about vegan food come to life. Their menu is so expansive that they can't perfect any single one of their items and I personally don't like the breadth because it covers all these East Asian dishes but then burgers and pasta too. Everything tasted weird, bitter, and salty and it was not seasoned well. It's a small space and lots of candle lights so it's great for some intimate conversations. There are much better vegan places in the city.

We ordered delivery from here for the first time. Some items were really good, one just meh. The meh was the vegan crab Rangoon. The "ravioli" were crisp but the filling had no flavor. It had a comforting texture, but no salt, no acid, no umami, nothing. They're a hard pass for next time. On the other hand, the black bean ginger stir fry was smoky and tasty, even if it seemed to lack ginger. I'm not a fan of broccoli, but they cooked it so well I lapped it all down. Roti was good, but they should specify there's only one to an order. At 4.40, I expected more than one, the size and thickness of a crepe. The " sleeper" was the brown rice, and that's why this is a 4 star review, not 3. It was just sticky and soft enough with a bit of perfume. It was good on its own. We'll come back, but probably be more selective

I'm not a vegan, however I enjoyed the food and wait staff were very accommodating. Very chill environment. I really enjoyed the garlic rice.

Food poisoning hazard!! Got a take out thanksgiving meal for 3. When we got home we found out that the food was DIRTY and the cake taste like soap / chemicals. I called to complain and the manager who picked up the call was extremely rude! I have explained that the cake was old and made me sick and was told that "they don't have the time to deal with me and I can send an email if I like to" Disgusting!!

I recently ate there with my teenage daughter and friend. This use to be such a good place and my passed reviews from long ago was great. I got the chicken ginger fried rice, the new thing that I did I try for the first time was the Portobello fritters. I posted photos of what everyone else got. When I ate it it was okay but nothing to rave about. The one thing I noticed about it was when I bit into it, it was like having a table spoon of oil. It was so greasy. But I didn't want to be picky so I ate it. My daughter also had some. After eating half she said she couldn't eat anymore. My friend didn't want to have any. We spoke about the food and how it has changed over the years. We also ordered wine and I paid the bill and went about my day. About 30 minutes later my i felt something wasn't right, my body felt weird, I was light headed and my stomach was turning. We walked about more and finally I had to go home because my stomach got worse. My friend was fine as she didn't eat much. I went home and crashed hoping it would feel better if I slept. My daughter had the runs all night. For me I didn't get proper sleep because my stomach felt like it was full of oil. The morning after I had the runs. Thank goodness because it was not a great experience feeling like that. They only got 1 star because the ginger pineapple juice is good. If I ever return it will only be for their carrot cake or juice nothing else. It's disappointing because this used to be my go to place in the village. Now I am crossing it off my list and will not recommend it anymore.

Vegan restaurant in the city! Servers were really friendly. They have a separate menu with no onion no garlic options so that was perfect for my dietary restrictions! I got the veggie lo mein with their pineapple ginger drink - both were amazing. The lo mein was nice and light. Went with two friends that eat meat and they loved it as well (they got the lo mein and steak platter). Definitely recommend visiting - they had a dessert menu with vegan cakes that looked yummy too! Would love to go back and try.

The service is great! They are so friendly and accomdating and truly work hard in making sure the customers needs are met. They also have a great space and ambiance. It's a bit small so not very suitable for large parties but great for a tightnit group of friends or an itimate meal. The food was pretty good, but i've had the same dishes other times before and they were better so it was slightly inconsistent in terms of quality. Overall, one of my go-tos for a vegan meal with an extensive menu!

Such good vegan Chinese food! Super intimate, and good feels walking in especially from a particularly crummy day. Hole in the wall feels, with friendly service and large portion size. it make you not miss meat at all! The "sizzling beef seitan" was so delicious and filling - would absolutely be back to try the other natural wines here too!

If you're vegetarian and you miss meat, come here! I heard many great things about this place from others and finally took the chance to try it during COVID. We sat outside in their outdoor dining space. The selection is quite good. We ordered Barbecue Buffalo Wings, Creole Soul Chicken, and Sizzling Pepper Steak Platter. The Buffalo Wings were on point. They even had a fake bone to imitate real meat. It was very tasty! Out of these dishes, we loved the Sizzling Pepper Steak Platter! The combination of veggies and meat was absolutely perfect! The staff we engaged with were super nice and I'm glad we decided to give this a try. If you're a vegetarian and you haven't been here, you're missing out!

A friend of mine brought me to the Red Bamboo to try the food. The place is pretty small and there are acrylic barriers between most of the tables. The staff is very inviting and knowledgeable about the menu offering up great options. We decided to go all in and like little greedy monsters opted for 4 appetizers and 2 entrees the 1st night. Yes, I returned 2 days later. Please don't judge me, let me do the judging. Appetizers 1. Asian dumplings- excellent! A must try. Great flavors. The cabbage, carrots and tofu are a great combo and came together well with the soy lime ginger dressing. The dumplings were firm, they didn't tear apart and definitely weren't mushy. My taste buds were pleasantly surprised. The salad bed was a pass because the dressing was a bit bitter. 2. chicken satay- this was also very good. The were perfectly grilled and seasoned. The peanut dressing was also a good match. 3. Fried zucchini and tofu- I'll pass on this next time. The fried zucchini was fine but the fried tofu was a no. I think it was a texture problem. It was more like a cream filling. I didn't like it at all. 4. Creole soul chicken- these are a great replication to chicken nuggets. They were crispy and perfectly fried. The batter didn't fall apart it was firm and gave a nice crunch. I recommend giving it a try. Main Course 1. Butterfly soy chops- this reminded me of the crispy nuggets. It wasn't as appealing to sight as it was to taste. It looked like cafeteria food. There were 2 chops with an ice cream scoop of mash potatoes with a dollop of gravy and collard greens. The potatoes were nothing to speak about and I didn't taste any garlic. The apple with raisins on top of the chops were a miss for me and that's because I dont like mixing fruit with my dinner. The chops were good. They were crispy and flavored really well. The collards weren't my collards and were just ok. 2. Spicy chicken with broccoli- this was good. The flavors were great. I wish it was a bit more spicy but overall the flavors were a hit. I took it to go because my stomach started to lose the battle and put up a full to capacity sign. Salad 1. Chicken caesar salad- this was really good. The croutons are made fresh. They were small crispy toasted and garlic flavored. I wish the lettuce was in strips instead of a whole leaf. The soy chicken was perfectly grilled. The biggest miss with the salad was the dressing. It taste great but should be placed on the side. It's my preference because it's a lot and makes the croutons soggy and I also feel a lot of sauce is hiding something. But this is a great salad and my server brought out another salad to make up for it. Wine 1. Rose- not my cup of tea. It was a bit sweet 2. Chardonnay - was a bit bitter and tart but it works 3. Beaujolais- is on the dryer side and was good. I'll definitely be back. The food was really good and the staff was great.

Red Bamboo have been a place I've come to for years. They sell all vegetarian meals, very tasty and fresh ingredients. Post COVID, you have to scan the menu and make your order online... they will bring your order right to you for pick up. There are only two tables and they were occupied so I ended up in Washington Square Park to have my meal. Great vibes, and beautiful view of NYC sunset in the park. Nice. Live, love and laugh -Sha
