Red Bar Sushi & Best Thai Kitchen

Food and service were excellent! The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. We also tried the Dynamite Chicken, it was flavorful, though a bit spicier than we prefer. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with quality dishes and attentive service.

We drove an hr away to try Red Bar, and it was more than worth it. Great food, atmosphere, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We will definitely be back!!

This place has amazing food, regardless of what you’re in the mood for. The ramen is fantastic, the sushi is fresh and tasty, and the Thai is great. Portions are always generous as well, which can sometimes be hard to find with food of this quality and caliber. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is impeccably clean. We’ve never had a bad meal here.

Random Spice Level. When they first opened, this was my favorite restaurant (at least in this part of the county). I’ve dined-in a half dozen times and had takeout several dozen times. They do sushi and traditional Thai. The sushi is good, but they probably don’t do enough volume to have an exceptional supply chain. The traditional Thai is exceptional when the order is right. Thai spice can make otherwise simple dishes, like chicken and vegetables, quite exceptional. It’s probably the main appeal of the cuisine. Recently their spice level has varied randomly and dramatically form one order to the next. My wife who is Asian, but from a northern region, likes medium spice. I’m a many-generation American (caucasian) but from the southwest, and like extra spicy. She will order mild and I will order extra hot; hers will be significantly spicier than mine. Neither one of us can eat our dish. Except sometimes when everything is perfect. After the third weekend in a row when I ordered takeout, “hot”, only to get to my destination and discover a dish with nearly no sauce, at all, I gave up on them. When it’s good it’s exceptional, when it’s not you feel cheated.

We had a party of 16 - one with allergies. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating. We ordered various dishes and sushi - all were wonderful. The lady working was clearly slammed with little help but she kept a smile on her face and was incredibly pleasant although she had to have been stressed! Would return in future. (I will say it was extremely warm in the restaurant but once the table next to us and our table asked for the AC to be turned down - they did it immediately)

The menu is a bit overwhelming with the amount and variety, but it just means we need to go back to try more options. The sushi was very good as well as the ramen. Our servers were very friendly and patient. Great experience and will definitely go back!

If you want some good sushi and thai food, this is your spot. I ordered a fried shrimp shumai, octopus legs (calamari), pineapple fried rice, beef bulgogi, yakisoba, sashimi platter (15 pieces) and naruto sunrise roll. Everything was amazing!! The sashimi is fresh and they give you a good portion. The sashimi slices are thick. Not thinly sliced. The Naruto Sunrise roll was excellent and a good portion. The beef bulgogi, yakisoba and pineapple fried rice was very flavorful and delicious. The only drawback was the service. Took forever to get the waiter to our table. It could've been understaffed but i'd still recommend this restaurant.

I can honestly say it's been a very long time since I've had such a disappointing dining experience!! While the food itself was of good quality the service was extremely poor and made the visit unpleasant! We sat down and placed our drink and appetizer orders and main dishes a bit later, but about 30 minutes later, our main meals arrived before any appetizers! When we mentioned this to our server, she apologized and said she'd check on it, but another 30-45 minutes went by with no updates and no one checking in on us! When she finally returned and we asked for the check, she asked if we had ever received our appetizers which we hadn't. We waited another 20-25 minutes with our card ready to pay, but again, no follow-up. Eventually, we walked to the front desk to pay and even then, no one apologized or acknowledged the poor service! It's disappointing because the food was actually good, but the lack of attentiveness and accountability from the staff completely ruined the experience! We won't be returning, as there are plenty of other restaurants with both great food and respectful, attentive service!

We have been going to the Red Bar and Best Thai Kitchen in Middleburg forever. This was our first visit to the Leesburg location. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered a plethora of rolls, some sashimi, and each had a seaweed salad. Everything was so good. I love Mackerel thanks to a Japanese roommate I had in college, and it always surprises sushi chefs when I order it. They remark every time. This time our chef took the time to explain the process in how he prepares it, as it has a special method of marinating for sushi. It was excellent and we will be back for sure!

I went here with my wife and some friends on a Saturday evening around 6pm. The place was almost empty when we got there, and we put in our order pretty quickly after reading over the exhaustive menu, 4 sushi rolls and 2 noodle dishes to split between the table, family style. An hour later, our food still had not come out and the waitress hadn't returned to check on us a single time. The hostess came once to refill our water glasses. We ended up asking for the food to go as we had other plans that night to get to and took it away. The food itself was aggressively mediocre and extremely overpriced for what you're getting. The glass noodle dish was on the dry side, the drunken noodles were mush, the flavors were dull and muted, the chicken was skimpy even though there is an upcharge for including it. Even if the food had come out immediately, I would not return at these prices. It's a nice spot in a good location but that is unfortunately where the positive elements end.

Food was delivered hot and ready to eat. The food is fresh and definitely has some spice. I thought the portions were small, especially for the price. There was one item missing the JALAPEÑO POPPERS ....@$13.00 Nothing was done to rectify this problem....that's a lot for not receiving what was ordered. Not very good business ethics if you ask me. Hurts the whole experience.

This establishment charges a credit card processing fee even if you pay cash. The Pad Thai was good but not a good value for the price. Since I don't live in the area, I won't be coming back regardless.

We are not from town but we wanted Thai food and my little guy wanted sushi. What a gem of a place! Came here after our Harry Potter Forbidden Forest experience, so it was around 8pm. Neil welcomed us very warmly and we immediately got seated. Everything we ordered was good and we felt so welcomed that my son asked if we could visit this place every time we go to Leesburg. He even made sure my husband put a pin on the map for this place. He's a 10y/o foodie. We shared this with Neil to let him know we enjoyed our visit very much and he gave my little guy a seeet sticky rice and mango dessert Thanks Neil and Red Bar for not rushing us even though we got in an hour before you guys closed.

Best sushi in Leesburg area, with a five star rating. Thai I don't like, 2 stars at best. Had 5 dishes & one was good, and that was a soup. Service is excellent. Can't separate the stars, but the Sushi is a 5.

The food and drinks was worth the wait. Going with my son and co workers last week. We were referred by a friend. She said the Mai tai were excellent and the sushi was the bomb. Being from Miami we knew what good sushi taste like. Nothing disappointed. We took home nothing. It all went inside the belly.

We came here for a date night and had a great experience. The sushi chef is obviously credentialed and skilled, which makes all the difference. We had a mixture of appetizers, rolls, and sashemi and it was good across the board! This is the second time we have eaten here. The first time was take out. It is so nice to have a sushi bar of this quality in our neighborhood!

The ambiance in this place is very relaxing and is great for a date night. There are two sides, one with a little more music playing than the other, but equally nice and clean. The service is excellent, and the owner (Neil) is outstanding. You would not know he was the owner. He provides table service and great recommendations. Everyone is very approachable and wants to serve you. Now the sushi chef is into his work and really doesn't want to be bothered, but he will give you ideas and accommodate your sushi wish. There are always sushi specials and chef specials. They do have a happy hour, and the bar is stocked. The sushi is also always good with or without something from the bar. The menu is extensive, and everything I have gotten has been excellent. I love their curries, mainly the Panang. The drunken noodles are also good, but I do love the spicy stuff. Honestly, I have not been disappointed in this place. Oh, they do have a Japanese and Ramen menu also. They offer generous portions, which is becoming a rarity in restaurants now. They do offer vegan and gluten-free. If you are in the Leesburg area, I recommend you come try this place out. It is very cozy.

My favorite place for Thai and sushi! The sushi chefs are amazing and so talented at what they do! The seafood is always so fresh and the Thai food hits home! We always get the sushi deluxe which is all so delicious and fresh! The atmosphere is welcoming and family oriented. They have a full bar and offer a ray of cocktails, sake and beer. Definitely a place I recommend to anyone wanting the freshest ingredients and seafood. Thank you Neal and Jamie for making us feel welcome every time.

Beautiful restaurant in the middle of a nondescript strip mall. The menu is mixed Asian - Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai ... so pho, sushi, drunken noodles are all available. Everyone can find a meal to their taste. They do have sushi specials, based on availability- my favorite is Japanese Mackerel- like Saba but less strong taste and a very buttery texture. Drunken noodles and "Treasure Island" sushi roll are favorite as well!

The restaurant gave me a free Thai Iced Tea for the wait, which was super overly sweet. I walked over to Melt Burger to pick up some cel-ray soda, while waiting. Kids were in the car gnawing each other's legs off because they were so hungry. -The menu offerings could use some improvement, for a Japanese sushi restaurant. Overall, the sushi isn't too bad. The other menu items, like the udon noodle soup need some serious work. Visited this spot a few times, to provide a fair assessment. Though, the extraordinary long wait from my recent visit killed it for me. Best of luck!

Best teriyaki chicken in the area! (I don't eat sushi, but everyone who comes loves the sushi too!) 10/10 would recommend

BF and I tried this restaurant for takeout for the first time today. With Covid and all, we really had not had sushi in a long long time. And this really hit the spot. We both ordered the sushi and sashimi combo. Came with tuna, salmon, shrimp, and a couple of pieces of fish I am not sure of what they were. I guess that is the downside of doing takeout - you do not have the wait staff to tell you what each slice of fish is. It also came with miso soup, which we both thought it was excellent. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that the menu describes the combo as five pieces of sashimi, four pieces of Nigiri, and three pieces of California roll. But each of us only got four pieces of Sashimi. They were thick slices, but it did not match the menu description.

Excellent service, their sushi surpasses every sushi location until you get to Centreville. I recommend their treasure island sushi, and their dynamite roll with cream cheese.

$33.87 for one order of green curry with chicken and veg spring rolls. I paid that much 06/29/2024 and have regretted it ever since. I waited to post this, hoping the regret would fade but it hasn't. Way too much money for two items that were mediocre at best. The curry had a film of grease as did the spring rolls. The spring rolls weren't rolled correctly so the bland vegetable mush oozed out. Not a happy camper and won't return.

I tried this place today for the first time and it was fantastic. I was greeted with a very friendly waiter/host, he was very kind and chatted with me while he waited for my orders. I ordered to go and I ordered 3 different sushi rolls (rainbow, mgm, and wicked tuna). They were both absolutely beautiful and delicious! I also ordered the Godzilla fire ramen bowl and it is so good! There are so many flavors going on in this bowl and it has the spice, 10/10 recommend if you like a good ramen! I also ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp, I didn't try this but the person I ordered them for said they were really good as well. I 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good sushi and Thai/Asian food! Great customer service and great food!

Tried this place since my friend's parents own the TaeKwonDo place next door. She tried the thai food here once and said it was good but overpriced, so we wanted to try the sushi. We got the MGM, roll combo (lunch special) and the pad thai bento box (lunch special). For 8 bites of average sushi, I paid over 20 dollars for the MGM. It came with a miso soup, but I was not satisfied with at the end of the meal. The roll combo also looked small for the price (comes with 18 rolls). I think the best thing to get the best out of your buck is to get the bento box. Overall the sushi was below average in my opinion and there are much better sushi places. The overall vibe that this restaurant is both a Thai and Japanese restaurant just makes me think that this isn't the best place to get sushi.

It was just OK. Bento box was pretty bland and the sushi wasn't anything to brag about. The vibe and inside is really cool though and nicely decorated

Excellent sushi bar with a real Japanese chef! He made us all the special dishes l used to eat in South Florida. The fish was fresh, the prices reasonable, and the ambiance was perfect for a sushi bar.

I've been here twice and had sushi both times. It was freshly prepared and everything was delicious. The Yelp discount made an extra special. This may be my new go to sushi place when I want to eat in. Well worth a visit. They also have a pretty extensive menu with Thai food and other Asian specialties. Friendly staff, clean facilities.

Some of the food is great but some are ok. The place has a nice ambiance and the service is good. The Thai food had better taste than the Japanese one. Mango sticky rice is really good, completely forget to take the picture.

Sushi and Sashimi are smaller than average. I never see a cut of tuna sashimi like that in the picture!!! Fishes are not fresh, and a bit fishy. I placed the order online which the menu said it comes with soup and salad. They didn't give me any salad to both 2 of my orders. When I asked, the Asian sushi chef told me to-go order doesn't come with salad. But that's not what it said on the menu.

Went there for lunch and had sushi sampler, pad Thai and pad se ew. All very good. Service was great. Very friendly.

Thanks to their uncle, my kids have a love for sushi and ramen. This place has a great selection of both. I've been twice and definitely recommend the Sapporo Miso while my son is hooked on the Meat Lover's. The service is fast and friendly. I'm no ramen connoisseur but my family leaves no crumbs so it's a win for us. I haven't seen them crowded so please give them some well deserved business.

I'm not big on sushi because I'm not a big fan of the fishy taste but I was surprised how tasty they make their sushi here. You can tell that it is high quality by the taste and the generous amount of fish is served compared to others I've seen. My friend ordered all this and I loved it so much I came back the same week with my husband. I plan to go back very often and would highly recommend this to my sushi loving family and friends for sure!

Just came here for lunch, looking at the menu average price for a dish is about $23. Honestly that's a tad over priced. The flavors are good but the quality not so much. We ordered a beef panang curry and beef yakisoba. The flavors of the dishes are good, the portion is medium size and the beef was tough as hell. Honestly for something that cost $22 I expected either bigger portion or high quality ingredients. I enjoyed my curry since the flavors where good, barely touched my beef in the curry as it was so tough it took a while to chew. All in all I would not recommend. I expect higher quality ingredients for this price range.

Very expensive for quantity and quality. Last bite either had a bone or nail - not interested in determining which. $48 for one black to-go tray is ridiculous. Thought I liked them first time but this second time lost me for good.

Easily the best sushi in Leesburg and the surrounding areas. I'm disappointed it took me this long to try it out. I have ordered the spicy tuna roll, spicy scallop roll, their house special, and the lobster roll. All have been extremely fresh and tasted amazing. They have a sizable bar setup and some local brews on tap. Only issue I have is that the rolls are about $1 or more above the average in this area but the quality is making up for it.

Placed an carryout order of sushi and sashimi through their website. Sushi quality is pretty good, not great. Unfortunately, I kept finding scales from the fish in my mouth (gross!!!) It doesn't matter how great your food is if you don't clean it well. It's unacceptable to leave that many fish scales in the food serving your customers.

Everything was yummy and well prepared, plus the servers were helpful and friendly! The salmon sushi was buttery and sublime-- I savored the taste after each bite. The softshell crab appetizer was great-- crunchy with plenty of crab meat within the crunch... and a lovely dipping sauce (not too intense, but flavorful). The Caterpillar roll was exemplary. The pickled ginger was its natural color and a great, tasty way to clear my palate. The green tea ice cream was also yummy, though I could only have a bite (since caffeine after 2pm can keep me up). The best sushi I've had in Northern Virginia yet!

MUST TRY!! Recently opened and absolutely amazing. Service is top tier, food is delicious, prices are competitive, and had the best thai tea that I have ever had. If you are in the area, I HIGHLY recommend that you try Red Bar Sushi!!

The best darn sushi in Leesburg area! We ordered calamari and tempura soft shell crab for appetizer and that didn't let us down. We ordered some chef's specials sushi (angry dragon, cherry blossom and mgm) all perfectly prepared. Excellent taste on every layer of ingredients. This will be out new favorite sushi place.

We are new to the area and I was in the mood for sushi. Hopped on yelp and red bar was the first to come up and had 4 1/2 stars. We ordered online powered by GrubHub. Food was ready when I arrived. Charlie behind the bar and Neil the owner were very friendly. My wife said the spicy tuna roll was the best tuna she's ever had. I heard they have a great happy hour and we look forward to visiting for dine in service soon.

Came here for lunch, our server William was very helpful in helping us make the right choices per our preference. We got a bulgogi, pad Thai and sushi, all excellent! Will definitely be back!

I really wanna like this place. The food is good, the atmosphere is nice, but they're critically understaffed. 2 out of the last 3 times we've been, they've gotten something wrong in our order. And the wait times for food and just getting ahold of your server is way too long. You'll be done with your food and wait 20 minutes before you can ask for your check. Overall, good food, but bad experience.

We were itching for something knew and this restaurant is about a month old or so. We order the kimchi fried rice, shrimp shumai, avocado roll, California roll, and super crunchy shrimp roll. It delivered quicker than by 10 minutes. The kimchi fried rice came with salad and soup. The salad had a ginger dressing the was tasty. The California had plenty of fish egg on it, they were not skimpy with it. Avocado and shumai were standard. The super crunchy was not crunchy. It was rather limp to be honest. More like it had been rolled in something that meant to be crunchy but they forget to deep fry it maybe? But overall it was very good. I look forward to trying the other half Best Thai Kitchen.

This place has exceptional sushi, one of the very few in Northern Va. The staples and cooked rolls are all great but the real gem is the Sashimi and fresh rolls. Worth trying the Omakase especially if that's your thing or you're adventurous. The staff and chefs are wonderful, highly recommended.

So my first time ordering food from here and I wish it was better. I was just craving some Thai fried rice. How can you go wrong with such a simple dish right? Well... they did get the heat level right. It was spicy but that was about it for the dish. The dish was tasteless... it was like just eating rice with heat. There was no flavor at all and very overpriced. YMMV. Pass on this dish if you're craving Thai fried rice.

Pretty good sushi, and reasonable prices. The "normal" rolls are standard, as every sushi place around here is, but they are a little bit cheaper, which is nice. I haven't tried the Thai food, only sushi as of right now. I try a new "speciality" roll each time, and they are sort of hit or miss. The paradise and catapillar rolls were very good, but the rainbow roll was nothing too impressive, and it was a lot smaller than their advertised picture. All in all, reasonable prices and fairly fresh fish for the sushi, even if the rolls are a little smaller than expected.
