Excellent charcoal latte! Got it with almond milk and they don’t charge extra for non-dairy milks. Seating outside and indoors, very cute and well lit.

Very nice ambiance at this cafe. Small and cozy with great standard drinks as well as fun and tasty seasonal drinks. They also have great pastries if you can arrive before they sell out (usually by 10am). I personally enjoy the calm plant filled view on the patio. Restroom situation can be a bit challenging if planning to stay long.

Google
Special thanks to April, Bryan, Boris, Tia, and Simret. I’ve been coming here almost every day for over a year. Not only is the coffee consistently amazing, but it’s the people who keep me coming back. I work a hybrid schedule, and on the days I have to go into the office, my routine feels off—because starting my morning here is such a great way to begin the day.

Google
Charcoal Latte, blueberry scone delicious! Excellent customer service. We enjoyed the charming outdoor seating area. Staff shared favorite local hikes as the conversation flowed. We will return👍🏼

Google
Delicious coffee with a wide variety of choices, from flavored lattes to inventive non-coffee options, pastries from Starter Bakery and snacks from all around. Red Bay is a great place to stop by for all your coffee needs.

Google
Worse customer service, 1st time inside this place I just wanted something warm to start my day good after having a bad night. The guy was very kinda of arrogant, not even a smile (cashier). Good morning, thank you or have a good day. Didn't offer to warm my pastry. I was the only customer inside. The drink was Good but for this service I won't come back.

Google
Wow. Just had a really good (and real) macchiato from this place. Really wonderfully made. They also made an iced decaf latte for my daughter with vanilla cinnamon syrup. Delish!

Google
Candied yam latte was so delicious!! I had ordered the rose cardamom latte, but some lady took it, and then they were out of the cardamom syrup. :( so they let me take the lady’s latte (mocha latte, which was good!) and made me whatever else I wanted, which was so kind! And that’s why I ended up with a candied yam latte. And honestly I am so glad I got to try it! When I got to the bottom there was real yam at the bottom! Very impressed. And the staff was so nice!! Also.. free wifi! Just no outlets. (That I could find) I recommend!

Yelp
Delicious coffee and friendly service! I am always looking for a new coffee spot, and love trying new places, so when I came across this little gem I was so happy! It's small and quaint with a very relaxing atmosphere, lots of windows, and seating available outside as well. I have tried several of their custom made drinks also purchased some beans and let me say they never disappoint! Will always come here when I'm in the area.

Yelp
I needed a caffeine fix this morning, so I headed straight for Red Bay because it was the closest thing to me. I got here right before they opened at 7:30 and was really surprised to see 2 other people already in line. I think that's how you know it's a good spot. They have a pretty solid menu - the essentials as well as some creative drinks as well. I loved the decorations, the indoor /outdoor seating, and the huge windows. It really looks like a great spot to sit down and get some work done or just chill and read a book. The person working was by herself, and she did a great job balancing everything. I appreciated that she took the time and gave me honest opinions on the drinks I wanted to order. I got the saigon latte half sweet, and it was perfect for me. Would definitely come back here :)

Yelp
Loved the coffee - I got an iced oat milk latte with cinnamon, tasted like horchata! Walkable from many houses nearby. Some indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly atmosphere. Only downside is no restroom or outlets - I studied here for about 3 hours before I had to leave to plug in my laptop

Yelp
While staying in Berkley for a weekend, we were so lucky to have been in walking distance to this Red Bay Coffee. Though it's a small shop inside, the ambiance is cute, chill, and has a cute outdoor seating area. But the real deal is the coffee here. It is made fresh and absolutely delicious! Lattes are also really good here as well! When we got there, there was only one gentleman doing everything, and he was fantastic at what he did. He was friendly, quick, and still made everything perfectly. Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near this place, but if I am in the area, I know there's at least one good coffee spot for me to go to in the morning! And if YOU'RE in the area, I recommend giving this location a shot!

Yelp
Cool neighborhood gem. Free convenient parking. Nice outdoor patio for chatting or working. Food is from Starter bakery so you know it's good. Service is great! It's a little out of my way since there are three other coffee houses closer. Totally worth the effort.

Yelp
I love red bay coffee! I used to go at least once a week when I worked in Oakland. This location is new in Berkeley which is closer to my house. It's small but there is room to sit and space outside to sit and enjoy your drink. My favorite drink to order is the charcoal latte is has such a smooth taste and has a beautiful black/gray foam delicious either hot or cold.

Yelp
This location officially opens for business June 5th. This entire week has been their "soft launch." Its a cute lil coffee shop that has an old school chill vibe. Everything from lattes to quiche and cute lil impulse buys! They sell baguette and olive oil loaves from Starter Bakery. The staff is so friendly! Cute lil addition to Alcatraz community. Get the Vietnamese Cold Brew! HELLA GOOD!! The pretzels are super tasty as well! Plenty of outside seating...no public restrooms.

Yelp
I am so excited for this coffee bar to take over this space from a former coop. Conveniently located on Alcatraz off Adeline, this is a nice addition to the Santa Fe neighborhood. Inside there's a cute seating area decorated with plants and out the window you can see the nice murals of the other businesses. There's also an outdoor patio that's semi enclosed and shaded. The sweet lattes are not too sweet and my go to is the Saigon latte with oatmilk. They have pastries from Starter bakery as well. Staff here were so friendly and excited to be opening this location! Props to the guy who made my latte and did his first latte art :)

Yelp
The space was very cute and the workers were so kind! I'm not from this area but Red Bay Coffee was definitely a hidden gem! The coffee was delicious too! Will be revisiting if I'm in the area again!

Yelp
LOVED this coffee spot. Had my first Candied Yam flavored latte prepared by Giovanni, one of the most a fab and friendly Baristas I've ever met! From the coffee and business mission to the artwork and vibe, this spot doesn't disappoint! It absolutely would become my new favorite chill/meetup/remote work spot if I lived in North Oakland/South Berkeley.

Yelp
I've been to two other locations but this is my first time here. Tried the coffee tonic this past weekend and it was great! It's slightly sweetened, I think they said they use a bit of vanilla syrup. I'd get this again! I was deciding between that one or the candied yam seasonal drink, which I tried before but thought would be better less sweet so I asked if the sweetness level could be adjusted. Good news is I was told it can be adjusted! I might just have to do that the next time I'm at Red Bay. My boyfriend got their classic charcoal latte, which I've tried before and we both thought was good. A little sweet, but I wouldn't say overtly so. There was a really sweet woman working there over the weekend, very engaging and loves dogs. Lids are located on the right side. They had some really interesting bottled/canned drinks for sale as well. We tried the banana bread and it was soft and delicious. Some covered outdoor seating, nice ambience.

Yelp
Excellent charcoal latte! I am also enjoying the lemon poppyseed muffin. Red Bay Coffee is committed to the community.

Yelp
Good coffee if you're a fan of Red Bay coffee, not such a great location for snack options (they run out early). Nice outdoor seating, but not much of it, minimal seating inside. Good wifi, but come charged up as there's no charging ports.

Yelp
Nice little cafe, all the workers are very kind! I got the blueberry muffin and it was delicious.

Yelp
Very good coffee, decent snacks (although the bakery selection is limited and frequently depleted). Unfortunately, it's a small space, and if the chairs are al taken you'll be feeling cramped. More of a grab-and-go place.

Chloe A.

Yelp
Really cute cafe, friendly staff, and good coffee. The Saigon latte is delicious! I'll definitely be coming back.

Janet Y.

Yelp
Great service. One of the best cup of latte ! The space is small... equal space for indoors as well as outdoors. Super chill. I was there for an hour and got a lot of work done. The only thing was that I couldn't sign on to the AT&T WiFi. But that didn't hinder anything because I have unlimited data on my phone.

Steven D.

Yelp
The charcoal latte was great. Barista explained the flavor profiles perfectly and sold me on it. Great Rec.

Yelp
Was just in this morning, my second time there in a week. Staff was friendly and quick with service, coffee is solid but either the owner or the manager was being really disrespectful to the staff. Just like most of the clientele, I've also been a young adult working in foodservice and had to deal with my share of bosses who think it's okay or justified to speak to/about their employees like this. It's a convenient spot with good coffee and nice/efficient staff, but won't be returning.
