We stopped by on 12/5/26. We sat in the bar because there were tvs with sports on. Christian greeted us and took our drink orders right away. I ordered a plate of chicken fried rice and a half plate of almond chicken with gravy on the side. The food came out hot and the portions were huge. All of the chicken was cooked PERFECTLY! When I had the leftovers the next day, they were nearly as great as at the restaurant. I can’t wait to have dinner here again🔥

Had a small work lunch that they accomidated so nicely. They had our table all setup when we arrived. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice vibe. We all ordered off of the lunch menu with a couple of appetizers. Everything was wonderful and filling, the portions are a nice size. I can definitely see making this a regular spot

Went for the first time to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband. So glad I picked this place! Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service! I got combo #10 and my husband chose combo #9. Both came with egg flower soup. Everything tasted amazing, good portions (had leftovers for the next day), and great prices! Can't wait to go back!

Been here for the first time today for a date. We got general tso's and honey walnut prawns. We also got a huckleberry lemon drop, and the pirate mai-thai. It's very warm and inviting inside. Not too loud at all.

While they provide a steady delivery/take out service, the better option is to dine in the restaurant in my opinion. They are always busy, and for good reason. The food is excellent Americanized Chinese fare, with great sauces, preparation, and presentation. Service is fine, considering it's one very busy hostess taking care of the whole dining area, while the kitchen is crazy busy cranking out tons of food for the masses. The resto has a typical Asian flair, and it is all clean and well maintained. We did their family meal for two, and we brought quite a bit back for a nice snack for folks at home...

I had a great experience! All of the food came out hot. The waitress was very polite. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious, along with their pork celery crunchy noodles(my favorite)!

My wife, 3yo toddler and I went here for lunch on Valentine's Day 2026. We hadn't been out to eat in months, and decided to go out for Chinese to celebrate. First, they forced us to sit in the bar despite having a 3yo and not wanting to be sat in there. Then, the bartender came over and she was so sick, coughing literally on us at our table, and leaning in so close we could smell her breath. She disappeared for 30 minutes when we were ready to order. When she finally came back, again she was standing in our bubble and leaning ridiculously close despite being very obviously sick. We placed an order for an appetizer, and then placed our meal orders. Our meals came out 20 minutes later, and we were like, what about the appetizer? Then 5 minutes later, she came out carrying the appetizer. My wife was like, "we thought we weren't getting this since we got our food and no mention of it" The bartender acted offended over it, telling us "you didn't say you wanted it before your meals" - what is an appetizer, then??? This was a shame because the food was good, but the service was so awful, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I'm praying we don't get sick over this. Our first time going out to eat in months and it was a disaster.

Beware vegans or people with allergies. Their vegan food is cooked with meat and other non vegan items. Tonight I was served a supposed vegan dish with some of the tofu tasting like fish then a surprise when I bit into chicken instead of tofu. The server was very nice and certainly not her fault but shows they dint separate their products. Ive reported it.

We visited The Red Dragon on the North Side of Spokane for the first time, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Molly was our waitress, and she was fantastic--so darling, happy, and incredibly welcoming from the moment we walked in. The environment was spotless, comfortable, and inviting. Our food came out very quickly, delivered with a big smile from Molly. You can tell the staff truly enjoys their work--everyone seemed happy and upbeat. The food itself was so fresh and honestly some of the best Chinese food we've ever had. The experience felt very personalized, and we even got a proud little tour of the restaurant before we left, which was such a sweet touch. If I could rate Molly and the restaurant 10+ stars, I absolutely would. This was probably one of the best dining experiences we've had. Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

Okay 1st thing I would like to say the service is okay.. 2nd thing I would like to ask is would you eat this if this was your food? I'll let the picture do all the talking..other than that the place has an old school feel to it .... This is an update! They offered me a 20 dollar credit to eat there again and they will not refund me my money ! not to add he told me that a little bit of poop doesn't hurt anybody !! So needless to say I'm never eating there again .. I hope that helps anyone in question!

Everything was so good. We always go to their other place on 3rd, but were in the area and wanted to try the family meals up here. There was little talk when it came out hot, because all we did was go from one plate to the other, slowing ourselves down by using chopsticks. I'm guessing our hostess was one of the owners, because she flawlessly took care of the entire dining area, but was friendly in the middle of being very busy. Their complimentary won ton soup was hearty start to a very filling meal. Some folks at home got a treat when we got back home for sure. Loved it!

Our go to place for Asian food. We are greeted with a smile by Kampo every time we go there.

The service tub was next to our seating and the waitress was very loud when she sat plates in the tray, making my date jump. We asked for extra napkinS, we were given one.

3 1/2 stars. The best thing about this place is the funky, not so fresh decor and vibe. Loving the old school wallpaper and lighting. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted right away. There was 1 server (Monday afternoon) that was very efficient and busy, busy. We got there at 2:30 so we just missed the lunch specials, not a problem. I got a pick 3 meal with teriyaki chicken, friend rice, lemon chicken. Portions were a bit skimpy. Oddly, the egg flower soup was not hot, barely warm even though I saw her scoop in out of a crockpot warmer pot. Our food was not hot either. It was good, not great. A good experience overall because service was good and I liked the atmosphere. There is a separate room with more tables and a full bar.

Huge dinner portions. We were eating three dishes for three days. We went when they were giving special and each dish entree was $10.

Took hubby to Red Dragon in Hillyard for his first time. He now knows why I rave over their food. The service was excellent today like always. Such a cozy and clean ambiance.

Very cool hip kind of spot , I've been here a few times , the food is good the vibe is cool service has been good as well , I usually come for lunch !!

First-timer here and I thought the food was really delicious and the atmosphere modern and fun. Started with egg flower soup that came with our entree order. It was thicker than what I have had in the past at other places but I wasn't mad at it at all. Hot, full-flavored and it was gone within a minute. I don't think my hubby and I even said two words to each other when slurping our soups! We also had the Surf and Turf Appetizer that came with fried prawns and bbq pork. This was a good size for two of us and both items were top notch. I ordered the #3 with pork celery chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, egg roll and rice. Everything was hot, fresh and yummy. Portion size was great and I wished I asked if l there were half-portions. I'm a sucker for chow mein with crunch noodles and this had great flavor. Hubby ordered the "pick three" and opted for special chow mein, sweet and sour ribs and almond chicken. He had zero complaints and I sniped a piece of his almond chicken. It also was nice and hot and flavorful. Recommend this place if you are looking for a new Chinese joint. Vibrant decor, good vibes.

It's clean and quick and the food is good and reasonably priced. They often times have a coupon as well.

The food is pretty good. I always get food to go, here. I would definitely go back. I have a little handicap and can't walk in so for them to at least bring it out to my car would be extremely nice.

I have been going here for years and it's my only Asian spot! I am a vegetarian and they have tons of options for me! My babygirl has been going here since she was in my tummy and she is now almost 12 and she loves it!!

My husband has been here several times and always tells me how good it is. Went for the first time today with coworkers and he was so right. We're vegetarian but the menu had so many great tofu options. I got General Tso's, and it was excellent. The decor is beautiful. Plenty of parking, nice staff. Food came out pretty quick.

First of all, I am shocked by the negative reviews on Yelp for the Red Dragon. Our experience was so good, it's hard to believe the restaurant could fluctuate that much in service and quality. I had wanted to try Red Dragon because my friend's sister raved about it and my disabled son wanted to try it after his favorite place (Peking North) closed a few months ago. We got seated and waited on quickly by Jeanette. Shortly after this, more people came in and Jeannette was very busy but she didn't fail to keep checking on us. My son is very particular about the food he orders and at first was dismayed when he didn't see a particular kind of beef he wanted but was happy when he saw a type of Kung Pao beef. He ordered that and my friend Dan and I both got the #4 combination which had celery pork chow mein, almond chicken, fired rice and bbq pork. It was fantastic! We were all given a bowl of egg flower soup and it was great. I cannot fathom how some people complained it was barely warm. After the soup, we had an appetizer of BBQ pork. The pork was better than I had ever had at other Chinese restaurants. Sometimes BBQ pork is a little on the dry side but this was moist and tasty. The only thing that could be improved (imo) is to separate the hot mustard from the sesame seeds. I like the red sauce and sesame seeds but not a fan of mustard. The chow mein was just perfect with plenty of the crunchy noodles - the almond chicken as good as any I had ever tasted, the fried rice also very good. I'm 71 and have always regarded the Cathay Inn as my favorite Chinese Restaurant. After our experience at Red Dragon, Cathay Inn may have some serious competition for #1! As a side note, if you like Spokane or Hillyard history, there is an interesting fact about their parking lot just east of their building. Years ago, there was a building there and it was the Rialto Theatre. If you look closely at the outside brick walls of the Red Dragon and the building to the east, you will see evidence of a slanted floor that used to exist in the building that used to occupy that spot. The slanted floor is higher on the south end and drops down as it goes north. This was of course to facilitate movie theatre seating where the back of the theatre was higher to allow movie goers to get a clear view of the movie screen over the heads of those seated in front or them.

Mary and I stopped in for dinner last night; our first visit. The place was clean and nicely decorated. We sat at a table and were quickly greeted by friendly staff. We ordered the Generals chicken, Almond fried chicken, Pork fried rice and Chicken chow main, soup was included. The Generals and Almond dishes were very good, the other items were tasty but standard Chinese fare. You should get in here and try this place.

just ordered delivery, it was absolutely delicious! a ton of food, super quick. the boxes are deceptively small because man they pack a TON of food in there! delivery lady was very sweet, the egg drop soup was also lovely. all around easy and amazing.

Visited on Saturday 12/28. Was a bit busy but the staff was on top of it and kept orders and tables turning at a good pace. Food was good, our server, Jeanette, was great, and will most certainly be back.

We decided to go here based on several recommendations from family and friends. It was our first visit and it was a good one. We seated ourselves when walking in and we're met right away with waters, menus, and a friendly hello. After looking over the menu she came back and I asked for recommendations for newbies. She gave us several dinner and appetizer options and discussed what is shareable. We settled on the sesame balls appetizer and the #10 with some extra almond chicken for our main meal. The sesame balls were quite good to start things off. We could have polished off another plate of them actually. The main meal was very good as well. I really enjoyed the prawns and my wife liked the bbq pork. Really, all of it was very tasty. Janette, our waitress, was very good about checking in on us and keeping our waters filled. I honestly thought when we walked in that it would be a run down hole in the wall. It was actually a very clean and well kept place. We'll definitely be back for both dine in and take out.

I never ever write reviews unless I'm unhappy or very pleased and I am delighted to express how this restaurant has met and exceeded my expectations in many ways. This particular location has provided something I've long searched for in Chinese cuisine and the service & management is very honorable. 10 out of 10 for me.

The server, Molly, was absolutely amazing! The price was good. The restaurant was clean and cozy. But the food was pretty much inedible. The sweet & sour chicken was overcooked, tough and dry. Seriously the worst I have ever attempted to eat. The sauce was absolutely disgusting. The sweet and sour ribs were full of gristle. The teriyaki chicken was too salty to eat, overcooked and tough. The special chow mien was not special. The soup was gelatinous. Now, the regular chow mien was actually pretty good and the egg rolls were great-not oily and very well stuffed!! The wine chicken was decent. And it wasn't like it was crowded, or the kitchen was busy. There was only one other family. In spite of the amazing server, we will certainly never return.

Fresh food and fast service. I enjoy taking my family in for lunch. I am addicted to the soup

My sister and I had lunch here and I had no idea the Red Dragon was so close to me in Hillyard! This was a great spot for sure. The decor is so cool. Pink and teal cheetahs on the walls? YES PLZ. The ambiance is calming and creative for sure. It was slow for lunch so we were seated immediately and our server greeted us with menus. I have the Red Dragon menu on my fridge so it was funny to put the pieces together that I do order from here on Doordash every so often. We ordered the spinach and mushroom potstickers but the pork one were the ones we received. We dove in, didn't say anything because the pork ones were really good. But next time we will have to try those ones. We both ordered the pick 3 lunch items so we could try a bunch of things! The honey wine chicken, fried rice, egg drop soup, almond chicken, prawns and teriyaki chicken were all incredible. Flavorful, awesome portions and so forth. The only two items I was no into was the lemon fried tofu. The tofu wasn't crispy enough at all and the lemon sauce wasn't that great. We also had the vegan chow mein and I took that home so that I could spice it up with more flavor later because it was just really bland and the veggies were raw. Overall, I will absolutely eat here again!

This is the second time my wife has ordered food from this place and it has taken a hour and a half+. This time she calls to check on the status of when she might get her food and the "manager" says (itll be there in 10 minutes) then hangs up. Doesn't say sorry or bye or even wait for my wife to say anything back, just hangs up. To top it off when the dude shows up a hour and forty-five minutes later he says it's 24$ and I give him 25$ because I don't have exact change and the guy takes off and doesn't even ask if i want my change. To ask me to pay was already ridiculous and to think you deserve a extra dollar as if you earned it was crazy. I always like to support small business but I hope nobody goes here. Also if ther was an option I'd put no star.

The food is delicious and fresh: egg flower soup is the best we have ever had, the hot and sour soup is amazing and perfectly balanced. Spring rolls and crab wontons are very nice, Mongolian beef is heavy on veggies and spicy perfectly soft beef morsels. So delicious! The orange chicken tasted more lemony to me, not bad but not my cuppa tea. The #10 combo is teriyaki chicken, almond chicken, sweet and sour pork with an egg roll, fried shrimp and bbq pork with fried rice. Seriously the best bang for the buck. Jeanette is attentive and personable, it's obvious she is a kind person and a huge asset to the establishment. And bonus points for the patio cat WonTon, that the restaurant adopted

Food was awful ! We spent $42 and wouldn't even bother with to go boxes when I only ate 5 bites. Service was subpar at best! I have a food allergy and she only asked the kitchen one time if they could accommodate my allergy. And that was at my insistence. Everything else she said was pre-made That said to me nothing was as fresh as many other restaurants. Nor are they as interested in accommodating their customers. The restaurant was clean. And the dining room was quaint and nice. The music was pleasant and general. But all together, I would not recommend them!

This place is recommended a lot in the Food Finders Spokane Facebook group. We had never heard of it before but we tried it tonight. We would definitely call this "Old School Spokane Chinese Food" meaning that it's very different from what we have in Seattle. But good! We were greeted right away and seated within minutes, Our server immediately brought menus and water before taking our beverage order. My husband ordered a Mac and Jack's African Amber and he appreciated having a great beer option. I had water because nothing alcoholic was tempting. We both had egg flower soup. I asked if there was a way to have the hot & sour soup without ordering it as an entree. There wasn't. My husband ordered the Pick 3 dinner; he chose sweet and sour spareribs, celery chow Mein, and fried rice. All were good, however, the spareribs were barely warm. I ordered a Bowl with General Tsao's chicken and an upgrade (+$2 charge) to fried noodles. The chicken was very good and so were the noodles. The serving sizes are adequate. While the decor is pretty dated it was clean and the service was great.

I've been going here for years for the lemon tofu and sometimes the teriyaki tofu. The tofu is amazing. They also have impressive serving sizes and they have a good deal on lunches. This is my favorite restaurant in Spokane. The servers are friendly and fast.

Just spent the worst 71 dollars at this place my wife and i walked in and theres flys everywhere place is not clean we ordered the sweet and sour chicken and the lemon chicken with fried rice and chow mein i told them i did like the meal and want the check they charged me full price and then after i got sick i called the place up and the owner said the chicken was fried last NIGHT! So its fresh. Absolutely disgusting never go here!!!!

Never again. EVERYTHING tasted like white pepper. The vegetables were still frozen in my takeout. Almond chicken was horrible. Foo yung was mushy and cold. Under cooked, still tasted freezer burnt. Something you would buy for a dollar a patty and pass off.. The Walnut Shrimp, which used to be good was just inedible. tasted like parmesan and condensed milk with cold, under cooked shrimp.. The top of the almond chicken take out looked literally scraped from someone else's plate. Skip this stop if you are wanting good food. My dogs rejected it because of the WHITE pepper content. Unbelievable. Never again

Best egg flower soup ever! We've had a few visits to the Red Dragon and we have had great food!

Two weeks ago we got delivery. Not as good as it usually is. Almond chicken dry , very little gravy . Not much sauce on any of our dishes. First x we have been disappointed. It will be a while before we order again. Plus driver just left the food on the porch. I took them I was using a walker .. it would take me a few minutes to get to the door . I heard a knock and said I'll be there as soon as I can . He was. Driving away . I know next time I'll tip when they get here not before like this x .

Excellent, tasty, classic American/Chinese food. The pot stickers, the General Chicken and their fried rice are all amazing.

Went to red dragon for a date night. Good service, good food. Went back for take out lunch the following week. We were just saying that we need to go back soon.

Most of this meal was just simply not good. I put some soy sauce on the chow mien for at least some flavor, the sweet and sour chicken was a hard pass after one bite. It was just a bad meal. You can tell there are inconsistencies within the restaurant by how the carrots are cut differently. I don't know. This meal was just unappealing, unappetizing, not flavorful and yet bad at the same time. $60 for three items. Never again. Oh and to top it all off one of the lids to the soup wasn't completely on so luckily we had extra napkins in the car because it was all over the bottom of the bag therefore all of the containers as well.

Drinks and food were great. Everything about this experience was excellent. Mongolian Beef and Mini Crab Wontons were hot and delicious!

Good food and fast service. Went for lunch and sat at the cute table top, it was a quick easy lunch for a short break.

Heard good things about my experience was not positive. Ignored by waitress, asked for a menu. Ordered almond chicken- gummy, egg fu young... no bean sprouts and gummy, special chow main, only ate the bbq pork, the rest had no flavor. Left most of the food sitting in my plate...$20.

Favorite Chinese restaurant in Spokane I usually get a lunch combo with chicken and BBQ pork. Great gem.
