I have lived in Chicopee for a long time and must have driven by this place hundreds of times. One day I popped in to see what it was all about. This place gives off old school vibes. The crowd were mostly Portuguese and super friendly. The menu had a decent selection for being a smaller restaurant/bar. I would recommend the calamari, pork chops, rabbit, swordfish, chicken wings, and soups. Everything that I had was extremely delicious. From what I’ve been told, they’ve been doing this for a long time with the same quality of food. *Five stars*

This little bar feels like one of those secret places only the locals know. They keep it a secret so they have all the food to themselves. My overall experience was good, and I do recommend it if you're looking for a good seafood restaurant in its little corner. Just note that it has minimal parking.

I've gone a few times with friends from Portugal, so you know this is "the real deal". Their salmon was done to perfection, simple, smooth. I had enough left over for 2 meals and the ability to eat it taken right out of the refrigerator, no need to cook more.

Update: I hadn't been to the Fez in a while so I decided to take my mom there for a low key late lunch on Mother's Day. I was expecting a great meal. Sadly the potatoes tasted like box potatoes and the veggies were seemingly frozen (or both just had an odd/off flavor?). The scallops were decent but lacked seasoning. I would rather pay a little more and get real potatoes and a different veg option. I know covid has businesses in a pinch and will give them another go again in the future but after this lack-luster meal I probably won't be running there soon. The staff is very nice and hard-working. Older review (pre-pandemic): Entertaining local bar and restaurant. Has the feel of a dive bar but the menu of a delicious higher end restaurant but the prices are really good. Their seafood dishes are delectable.

Yelp
I'm a long way from home.. clear across the US! And coming from California my expectations on food are pretty high. If you're not from around here, don't let the kids inside fool you. I was unaware at first if it was family friendly because the first thing I saw was more bar area than restaurant and we were ready to drive off. So happy we stayed! The inside is just that. A bar n grill. Cozy home like vibe. I'm sure everyone knows each other. We got the ribs, lamp lollipops , burger and drinks! Fantastic flavors! My lamb was cooked great! Although the mash could have used a little more flavor but that was on me for not taking the gravy! Great great first meal upon our arrival here in Massachusetts!

Yelp
My first time visiting this portuguese restaurant. The food was very good, with lots of flavors. Our server was very friendly & gave us great food recommendations. I recommend visiting this true gem in Chicopee for some authentic portuguese food.

Yelp
Highly recommend sirloin on hot rock! Place is nothing fancy. My kind of style though. Service was ok. Only one server. Food was worth the wait.

Yelp
Not a huge fan. Came here by recommendation from a friend. Parking is very limited with some street parking available. The restaurant feels small inside as the middle has a very large table for larger groups so the rest of the tables are squashed together. The service is slow and sloppy. Our waitress was super nice to start but you could tell she was overwhelmed and overworked as the night got busier. I only saw 3 waitresses on staff, which seemed inadequate since the place was packed. She started off with great service but every time she came back she'd say, sorry it's just busy right now. After we ordered it took us 45 minutes to get our food. The appetizer didn't come until well after our entrees. The shrimp cake is a joke. It only had one single tiny shrimp inside and it wasn't even cleaned. The entree's were pretty good but nothing amazing. We asked for the check and it took another 20 minutes just to get that then another 10 minutes to get it back with our card. Outside of those things the place is LOUD. It's very, very difficult to have a conversation when it's at full capacity. This is one of those, 'go out to dinner to just be on your phone the entire time' places. Wouldn't not recommend.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Chicopee. Layback, good food, Keno, jukebox and great atmosphere. Try the clams al pato and 16oz Ribeye steak.

Yelp
This place is great! Real comfortable in a friendly atmosphere. I had steak on a stone and it was delicious. Along with a beer and some Keno, can't go wrong. The bread was amazing too.

Yelp
So I don't know if it was an off night or if this restaurant has taken a turn for the worse since they are "under new management", but this place let us down. When we entered the restaurant we were excited to try out this hole in the wall after reading a fellow Yelper's review, but we quickly became dissapointed with our experience. The restaurant itself is in need of repair, but that doesn't impact this review. What does affect it is the terrible service we received as well as the fact that the food was bland and lacked heart. We didn't get silverware, it took forever to get plates because they "ran out", and the waitress was beyond absent. The bartender was actually the person we interacted with the most. The shrimp Mozambique was not actually shrimp Mozambique but grilled shrimp with hotsauce. We were rationed Portuguese rolls and there was no real difference between the Seafood Rice my wife bought and the Mariscada I had for dinner. The only difference was the half of a lobster and the price. The final nail in the coffin was the atmosphere with some of the other diners. We couldn't tell if the family having a domestic dispute or the table full of men demeaning women was worst. That being said, if we were looking for an average meal this restaurant would meet the build but having expected a little more we were definitely dissapointed.

Yelp
The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is excellent. All of the bartenders work very hard and are kind to me whenever I visit. The drinks are well made. Try it if you're in the area!

Yelp
Excellent food. The service was very friendly and really good. The prices were really good considering the food choices (a lot less than similar dishes at other local and chain restaurants.) The only downside to this place is that it's more of a bar atmosphere, so it could put some people off, but I'd recommend trying it. I will be going back!!!

Yelp
I like this family run, little Portuguese restaurant in Chicopee. Mom is in the kitchen cooking up some of the best Portuguese food around. I stopped yesterday for lunch and had Feijoada, the national dish of Portugal, I have had it many times before in other restaurants and this is just as good if not better in many respects as I have had. It is made with pork, pork belly, beef, chourico, cabbage, red kidney beans and served with yellow rice. It is a stew cooked low and slow which allows the flavors to meld, producing a medley of culinary symphonic ecstasy. In true Portuguese fashion, Portuguese bread always accompanys the meal, along with black olives. I ordered a glass of Portuguese red wine which was positively delightful along side the Feijoada, total price out the door before tip was $13.13, a value. This is a a real hidden gem in Chicopee and I plan to run the menu, sampling as many of those "Old World" Portuguese comfort food delights as possible.

Yelp
Great food and drinks in a repaxed family setting. FRESH seafood and great steaks. Great expresso also

Chuck G.

Yelp
I always get the Portuguese pork sandwich. It so amazing that I haven't tried anything else. I have only been during lunch. It is a small place and for lunch the bartender is the only server. I understand that nobody would make money if another server was there. You might have to wait a little while, but well worth it.

Yelp
I come almost four times a week to this family owned restaurant. The food is great I haven't been able a reason to fin a complaint. I appreciate this family owned businesses instead of chains that only serve frozen food.
