I like this family run, little Portuguese restaurant in Chicopee. Mom is in the kitchen cooking up some of the best Portuguese food around. I stopped yesterday for lunch and had Feijoada, the national dish of Portugal, I have had it many times before in other restaurants and this is just as good if not better in many respects as I have had. It is made with pork, pork belly, beef, chourico, cabbage, red kidney beans and served with yellow rice. It is a stew cooked low and slow which allows the flavors to meld, producing a medley of culinary symphonic ecstasy. In true Portuguese fashion, Portuguese bread always accompanys the meal, along with black olives. I ordered a glass of Portuguese red wine which was positively delightful along side the Feijoada, total price out the door before tip was $13.13, a value. This is a a real hidden gem in Chicopee and I plan to run the menu, sampling as many of those "Old World" Portuguese comfort food delights as possible.
