Red Fox Room and Steakhouse

Traveled from out of town and wanted a premium steakhouse and Red Fox Room did not disappoint! Chris was an EXCELLENT waiter! The ambiance was top notch. I was very impressed that they had the piano bar on a weeknight. They even took requests. The serving sizes are quite generous and the cocktails were marvelous! If we ever come back to SD, we will definitely stop by!

Food (Steaks & Lobster) were fabulous. Cocktails were great. Server (Hannah) was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had the Ribeye, NY Cut and Top Sirloin. The steaks were grilled to perfection. Appetizers were very good. This is the quintessential old style steakhouse that does NOT disappoint. Parking right around the corner.

We got lucky and stumbled into this absolute gem . We are from Australia and this restaurant fulfilled all the Americana we could ever need. The piano bar lets you sing a song and I serenaded my wife after some amazing cocktails and Zinfandel 🙂. Honestly couldn’t recommend enough. Good food. Good atmosphere and nice staff

From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with friendly smiles and attentive staff who made us feel like cherished guests. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We started with the escargot, which was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. For our entrees, the steaks were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The sides, especially the creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes, complemented the meal beautifully. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality put into every dish. The live piano music added a magical touch to the evening, creating a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere that was perfect for a celebratory dinner. The talented pianist played a mix of classics and contemporary pieces, setting the mood and elevating the entire experience. I heard they might be closing which just breaks my heart! I have loved Red Fox Room for over 25+ yrs. The food is fantastic but the vibe and service were even better!!! So many great memories. Loved bringing people to RFR to enjoy the cool dark hideaway feel during hot sunny days as much as celebrating with surf and turf dinners, strong drinks and laughter. Always in my heart.

WOWWWW!!! We were so excited to dine at Red Fox- we heard it was great but our expectations were thoroughly exceeded. Our server Hannah was incredible. She was helpful, funny, and kind! She made our experience perfect and understood exactly what our vibe was for the night. We were quite indecisive at first, but she guided our decision which ultimately led us to such a perfect meal. The music was chefs kiss. We literally had tears in our eyes because the vibe was so incredible and the old school musicians were so passionate. The food was on another level. We had steak and seafood, bread + salad and we finished every bite. We are both in the hospitality industry and are quite aware of good quality of food, drink and service and- damn- this place checked every. single. box! We can’t wait to go back!!

What a great retro dining experience. The atmosphere is sublime and relaxing. It feels like, and is, an old school, steak house. I started with French Martini, my dining partner had an Old Fashioned, and both were perfect. I ordered the Steak and Cod after finding out that the Cod was broiled. It's my favorite way and hard to find! The meal came with salad, garlic toast, and a side, I chose a baked potato. Everything was very good and generous. My fellow chose the pork chops, and they , too, were happy with their meal. Service was wonderful , timely, and informative.

It was everything great. The meat was cooked perfectly and the waitress was amazing. She brought each the food at the right time. The only part I dislike is that I couldn’t se with band playing from where I sat, but it wasn’t a big deal. So I’d come back for sure.
