Yelp
Before there was Mindy's Bakery, there was [Mindy's] Hot Chocolate on Damen, maybe half a mile away. I had long wanted to visit Hot Chocolate but didn't get to Bucktown very often and parking in the area is a bear, so it never worked out. But when I realized that Mindy opened a bakery (in fact, closed Hot Chocolate in order to open the bakery instead) I wanted to stop in. I picked up a few bakery items: A cake-like thing that was really tasty; a couple sugar cookies (well, I ordered and paid for two, but only one made it into my bag, unfortunately), and a Stromboli. I don't think I've had Stromboli before but it was good. This one had polish sausage inside, yum. I really, really love savory pastries, probably more than sweet ones, so this hit the spot nicely. I wish I remembered what the cake-like thing was; it was small, about the size of an oversized cupcake (say, a cupcake and a half) and it had a kind of mousse-like frosting... anyway, it was so delicious and I wish I'd bought one for each of us instead of one to share. The sugar cookies were good as well, but a sugar cookie is a sugar cookie and next time I'd probably focus on something that was a fan favorite or specialty of the bakery. Of course I can't conclude my review without talking about the hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate is the epitome of gourmet. It's incredibly rich--you don't find hot chocolate like this most places, even other places that sell a high quality hot chocolate. I bought a bag to bring home as well, and for some reason I went with the dark blend... it's fairly bitter to my tastes, but I'm not dark chocolate's biggest fan (I know, why did I buy the dark?). For myself, I would switch to the "creamy" blend next time. The cup I bought whilst here was made from the Classic blend, and I had the marshmallow added to it (instead of keeping it separate--a homemade marshmallow comes with it, and as I've made them myself I can tell you they're completely different from the Kraft ones). It was a lovely treat to coat my throat. They also sell a Mexican blend (spicy blend, perhaps they call it), and since I'm not a fan of cinnamon it's not something I'll try but I know the quality will be of the highest standards. I'm not someone who generally wants to wait in line at a bakery (special occasions like paczki day notwithstanding). The line isn't just something that was a result of the early pandemic; in December 2023 there's still a line down the block in the morning. But anyway fate smiled upon me with a parking spot right in front and no line since it was early afternoon and I couldn't pass up the chance to stop in. And my baby and I were greeted by Mindy herself, which I wish I'd realized at the time! It was worth it and I'm looking forward to a return visit.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious wow bravo!! Quality ingredients and made to perfection!! The girls who work the front are so sweet and you can tell they love there jobs! They answered all my questions and some! I was a bit disappointed that the second bake wasn't ready by 1030am but it's all good another reason to go back.

Yelp
For whatever reason, bakeries have become a rarity in Chicago. At one time, there was a bakery in every neighborhood. But many of the old-school bakeries have closed, so now they are few and far between. Thank goodness we have people like Mindy Segal, who opened Mindy's Bakery in Wicker Park. Located in the old location of the Red Hen Bread Store, Mindy's is small, but it's a beautiful gem. Although many reviewers have commented that it's difficult to park, and expect to wait in a long line, when I arrived around 9:30am on a Friday morning, I found "Doris Day" parking right in front and no line. Behind a counter and short glass wall is a tempting array of bagels and other baked treats and quiches. To the left there are bags of granola and Mindy's hot chocolate mix. I ended up buying a half-dozen bagels, lox cream cheese, two pastries, a small yum-yum banana coffee cake, a bag of hot chocolate, and a bag of granola (the last two items to give as gifts). The bagels are really good, and they have some unusual flavors including smoked salt. The cream cheese was so-so, and I discovered when I got home that it has been packed a week before my purchase. The pastries, one apple, the other a gluten-free pear, were very good but a bit on the cakey-side (I wish they both had more fruit). The yum-yum banana coffee cake was not very flavorful, and since I ended up bringing it to a gathering, it was a bit of a disappointment. I cannot comment on the quality/taste of the granola and hot chocolate mix because they were both gifts, but at $20 and $30, I hope the quality/flavor of these two items justifiy their high purchase price. Although I live on Chicago's north side, I will definitely return to Mindy's,

Yelp
This is your one-stop bakery where you could get various baked goods and not bad coffee. We tried their croissants, breakfast sandwich and other small pastries and enjoyed all of them. The breakfast sandwiches are often sold out early on weekends (people line up for them). The staff is friendly. There is no room for sitting down or standing inside to eat, so a bit challenging to wait in line when it's rainy or cold outside.

Yelp
This is a really cute little bakery in wicker park. I stopped in to bring home some desserts for my husband and I. We shared a peanut butter cookie, some type of cake with pear, and a smoked almond chocolate item. Everything was tasty and unique. I would definitely be interested in trying some of there other things. They also had a wide selection of teas, coffee, and hot chocolate, will have to try next time.

Yelp
Mindy's is one of the best bagels in Chicago! I would definitely go back again and again and again.... Tried some other pastries-- all good!! It was a windy day and people were in line outside! It is a small bakery - no sit down area. Be prepared to pay and find street parking! Aside from delicious bagels and pastries they also sell homemade pesto and chive cream cheese and super creamy hot chocolate! I highly recommend you visit this bakery when you're in Chicago! Despite the long line they move pretty quick and the staff are friendly and efficient. Check this bakery out!!!

Yelp
Mindy's Bakery offers top-notch pastries that are both delicious and beautifully presented! The chocolate-drizzled pastry I tried was fresh, flaky, and indulgent without being overly sweet. The packaging and presentation are neat and thoughtful, reflecting the care they put into their products. The service was quick, but remember that they run out of the good stuff by 10 am! -AT

Yelp
My mom and I stopped by Mindy's Bakery to grab some pastries and i totally forgot that the concept changed a few years back and there's no actual table service; thankfully, the line wasn't too intense and moved fast. I ended up getting a hot fudge glazed donut and cranberry + pistachio cream kolaczki and both were delicious with a cup of coffee. The kolaczki wasn't too sweet and I appreciated the tartness of the cranberry flavor contrasted against the pistachio cream - delicious. My mom also enjoyed her donut, and it was a perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Yelp
Everything we got was great and service was very efficient. Vodka bialy, garlic challah bagel with giadaneira cream cheese and pesto chive cream cheese, almond croissant, raspberry rugelach were all divine, powdered donut holes and cinnamon banana coffee cake were both good as well. Definitely recommend going home and warming/toasting since this is not a capability they have inside, but great selection and good vibes overall inside the shop.

Yelp
Wow!! The options were so great that I wish we could have tried more! We got the Brisket and Romero Stromboli, Bolognese Tart and then a few desserts- a slice of vanilla caramel cake/a slice of the triple chocolate cake and a cookie! All were overly delicious and flavorful! But I would say our favorite were the savory pastries! I wish we would have got more! The bakery is small but service was so fast and efficient that it went really quick! I love the open kitchen concept so you can see everything being made! Also they have a little draw of candy for kids that is super cute!! Can't wait to go back and try more next time!

Yelp
Amazing, fresh, and delicious pastries! Both cost less than $10 will be back to try more

Yelp
Very nice bakery. Located in the heart of Wicker Park near the 5 corners. There is some paid parking off Milwaukee but alot of parking was taken away with the new bike lanes. I would note that there is always a line early in the morning. If they sell out then they close. They usually do an AM bake and PM bake so follow the social media to see what is new and hot. I have tried this place a few times. I have enjoyed majority of my purchases. For the price point this is definitely a treat. Bagels with no smear are $3. They didnt offer to toast or slice my bagel so I assume they don't offer that service. Most baked goods start at $5 and higher. This bakery has plenty of refreshment options also. So you are able to grab a drink to purchase. This place has fantastic hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows. On my last visit I tried the bagel (sandwich for lunch) which was full flavor and soft. I also tried the morning bun to get my day started. I was happy with my purchase. The owner: Mindy, does a great job of rotating the menu so there is always a rare find among the selection of daily items. Staff here are friendly and quirky. They will make recommendations based on your preferences if you ask them. Stop by and grab a snack while you shop in Wicker...you wont be disappointed.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood staple! I recommend going on a weekday morning if you live in the neighborhood or nearby since the weekend guarantees that you'll be waiting in line. My favorite go-to pastry is their vodka bialy which is kinda like a fluffy bagel without the hole in the center, and delicious vodka pasta sauce and herbs on the center top! It's consistently delicious! Although I really wish that it could be served warm, or heated up. This is a comment for all bakeries though because I think it's a common experience I have. Unless I can arrive when the pastries are just out of the oven, the pastry tends to be room temperature (which is fine), but would be so much more satisfying if it could be kept warm. What I do then is take the pastry home and then stick it in my air fryer for a few minutes to reheat and toast it. Then it's extra good!! The other thing I highly recommend is the Mindy's Breakfast Sandwich (Pistachio Mortadella, American Cheese & Parmesan). It is only offered on the weekend and comes at a high price point but it is WORTH IT!! One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in Chicago. It's deeply savory and satisfying and is made fresh so it's hot and steaming when you get it. I've also had their iced hot chocolate which is soooo rich and delicious! It's a huge serving considering how rich it is so I definitely drank half and kept the other half in the fridge for later. The service is also so friendly and welcoming every time I come in. I appreciate that the workers allow us to take our time to choose our pastries while still keeping the line moving. I get anxious when I get to the beginning of the line because of the way the line is oriented, you can't really see the pastry case and make decisions before you get to the front! But the staff are understanding and patient and set a really positive tone.

Yelp
Finally visited Mindy's and I can say it's worth the hype - at least from what I bought. I went on a Friday morning around 8am and waited for about 10 minutes. Not terrible. I got a donut and bagel, as those are two items I am picky about and get a lot at different places, so I wanted to compare them. Both were very good. I am VERY picky with bagels and there aren't a ton of good ones in Chicago. I would go back for this one. Soft on the inside and a slight crunch on the outside. Get the giard cream cheese - you won't be disappointed. The donut was kinda like a cronut, with a soft flaky inside. I get a lot of donuts around the city and this is right up there. Very good and I will be back!

Yelp
I'm a bread lover so I knew I had to go to Mindy's Bakery on my visit to Chicago. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no wait at all. I got a Vodka Sauce/Mozzarella Bialy ($5) and Garlic Challah Bagel ($3). The Bialy is a cross between focaccia and a bagel and it's truly such a unique bread. It's a bit oily but the taste is delicious and would be a huge hit for any focaccia lovers! The bagel was also very good and had a nice crust to it. I do wish there was an option to heat it up which would've made it even better, and the addition of a small cup of cream cheese for $1.25 was a bit expensive in my opinion but this bakery is delicious nonetheless. I wish I had room to try their pastries because they all looked amazing but I would definitely come back based on the breads alone!

Yelp
Best bakery in Chicago. Parking in the area can be more challenging on a weekend but it's well worth it to put in the extra work to park and wait in line for these delicious pastries. Lines during the weekend can be long but the weekdays are clear in the mornings. My favorites are the chocolate croissants (which are gigantic) and the sticky pecan buns. I literally dream of the buns...their baileys are also magnificent and are the perfect savory treat for breakfast or even a snack. Mindys is at the top of my list when looking for a delicious treat and a place I recommend to anyone coming into town. Believe me, it's worth the carbs, the lines, and the price.
google avatar

Brooke L.

Yelp
The best chocolate chip cookie in Chicago in my opinion! Slight crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. You can't go wrong with any goodies here though. Right now they are serving up their special hot cocoa with a giant marshmallow. The cocoa is rich and cozy and everything you need on a cold day. Hurry and get your treats because when they are sold out, they are done for the day. Follow Mindy's on insta to see what special goodies they are making each day.

Yelp
I came here on a very cold Sunday morning. Since it was about 10 degrees outside I didn't think there would be a line. I was wrong. This place is that good. Doesn't matter how cold it is l, people will come. We waited a good 30 minutes outside, and I would say it's definitely worth the wait. The wife and I took a couple of pastries home. We got a chocolate chip cookie, Hot Fudge + Smoked Almond Rugelach, and a Twice Baked Almond Croissant. They were all very tasty. The croissant was $7 but worth the price. It was my favorite out of the bunch. The inside was softy and the outside was very crispy with a hint of sweetness. The chocolate chip cookie was very soft. The staff here was very friendly, and welcoming. There so much to get here, I will admit was overwhelming at first. The staffs patience was very helpful. I unfortunately didn't try their hot chocolate but definitely need to. I can definitely see myself returning very very soon.

Yelp
Must-visit bakery in Chicago. Some of the highest quality pastries in the city. Everything on the menu is spectacular- you can't go wrong!

Faith M.

Yelp
I think Mindy's is the best bakery in Chicago! You can't beat it. The pleasant smell of baked goods, the workers behind the counter baking and making everything from scratch in front of your eyes, the HUGE variety of goodies! Everything we had was delicious! My husband got the challah garlic bagel (we cut it ourselves and spread some cream cheese on it that we purchased as well), it was crispy on the outside and soft as a pillow on the inside, the flavor profile was excellent. I got the ham & cheese croissant and it had crispy cheese on the outside with many flaky layers of croissant, it tasted amazing. We also got a hot chocolate with a marshmallow on top. This hot chocolate was decadent, it was made with real chocolate. I would recommend any bakery, pastry connoisseur or any average joe looking for a solid breakfast to visit!
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
Fantastic place for bread and coffee. Cookie croissant was superb in taste and texture - not too sweet + soft center + crunchy outer layer. If you're in the neighborhood and has third minutes to kill (the queue), do drop by for some awesome bread!

Yelp
TLDR: WORTH THE WAIT! (AND the line moves quickly!) I dragged my bf out for a "bike ride" on a Saturday morning to "ride the 606"--but first, coffee and pastries at Mindy's?! Yes?! Kthanks! The line was out the door and down the length of the store front. Not gonna lie, I felt a little defeated that we couldn't beat the rush... we almost didn't get in line... but then we saw that the line was moving at a pretty quick pace so we quickly got in line and we DEFINITELY DID NOT REGRET. First things first, GET THE HAM, GUYERE AND MUSTARD CROISSANT. Don't even start with the "But I'm not a ham and cheese kinda person" crap, bc this isn't just an ordinary ham and cheese. It's flakey, it's savory, it's delectably warm cheesy... If you have room for one more, get the vodka sauce, mozzarella and basil pesto pastry! The crusted cheese on top is like cheesy crack. Every bite is different somehow. Thought I was gonna "save half for later" and that later came right after I ate the first half. Now, I know you have room for one more, bc you can't come to a bakery and not browse the sweets. Contrary to its cloyingly sweet appearance, the salted caramel donut is light and fluffy, and the icing is the perfect amount of sweet to eat with a black cold brew. My bf's everything bagel was good on its own, but I'm sure it would've been even better had we toasted it and buttered it... remember though, this was just a "quick detour" before our bike ride, so he had to make do. (He survived tho, for anyone who was concerned for his wellbeing.)

Maitri S.

Yelp
Truly the BEST pastry place in Chicago! It it totally worth the wait. The line goes by quickly and once you get inside, it's an endless array of treats. Everything is delicious but my favorite were the sweet pastries I tried- each one was so unique and buttery and rich. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Munzer Q.

Yelp
This bakery is as good as you hear. And yes the lines form early. It was a Saturday when we went and waited about 45 minutes. They have lots of choices; we got the croissants and the biscuits....OMG, so so good. And yes a bit on the expensive side but for sure you get the value....enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
Mindy's Bakery is definitely one of my favorite bakeries in Chicago. I have been several times and each time the pastries have been incredible! One thing to note is that the bakery has two different rounds of bakes: the first round includes the croissants, bagels, etc. while the second round includes the cookies, cakes, etc. This means that if you go past 12pm and are craving a croissant, high chances that they will be sold out already! I highly recommend checking out the website and/or Instagram beforehand so that you know what will likely be in stock. Must-haves include the ham and cheese croissant, the kouign-amann, and the morning bun. Anything on their brioche dough is also amazing. But truly, I have not had any misses here. This place is a grab-n-go with limited seating outside so expect to take your pastries to go. The staff has always been friendly to me. In the times where there has been a line, I feel like it has moved fairly quickly.
google avatar

Anastasiya K.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Tuesday morning to try some bagels and pastries. I got the challah bagel, sesame, and everything bagel. I also got the stuffed bagel and that was my favorite. The bagels were VERY delicious. Definitely taste fresh and flavorful. I also bought a whole container of their pesto cream cheese and wow that blew me away. Their homemade cream cheese is something I'll keep coming back for. So easy to put on a sandwich or bagel. I tried coming back on a weekend and the lines for this place are no joke. It's very busy and popular so I recommend coming at off peak hours!
google avatar

Kathy D.

Yelp
There's a long line but always goes fast! All the bread goods is delicious, you can't go wrong with any of them! We got the almond croissant and bagel with their homemade pesto cream cheese! SO GOOD! Highly recommend going here if you're in the area
google avatar

Randy H.

Yelp
Ok. This bakery is awesome. They have a wide arrange of pastries, bagels and bialys. They also have gluten-free items which my wife enjoyed. They have the best croissants I have had in the US. The staff were pleasant and did not make you feel rushed even though there was a line out the door. We did get there a few minutes early and we were about 10 in line. When we left, there were about that many in line. So don't be surprised if there is a little bit of a wait. It is well worth it!

Vanshi P.

Yelp
Uh-mazing!!!!!! Love everything about this bakery. We tried the flat bread and almond croissant and some bagels. Everything was over too. A+ for food, service and ambience.
google avatar

Angelina Z.

Yelp
There was a 15 minute queue on a Saturday afternoon but this bakery was so worth it! I got the ham and cheese croissant, and I can't describe how rich and buttery it was. The mustard also added a nice touch. I also got to sample one of the tea cake cookies and a banana foster pastry (I forgot the names) and they were also extremely high quality. I'm definitely hoping to come back and try some of their other items!
google avatar

Yelp
LOOK IN MY EYESSSS. WHAT DO YOU SEE? it's a cult of meat with extra cheeeeeese biscuit. 6 stars if you guys had a pop up shop in the Tokyo Dome

Sajna J.

Yelp
One more five star to this cozy lil neighborhood bakery's creds . We had the vodka sauce bialy, raspberry jam rugelach, coffee marble cake, biscuit, blueberry doughnut - sugar to your hearts content :-D
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Took my daughter here on her birthday. Staff was incredibly friendly. Daughter mentioned it was her birthday and got a free piece of cake, too. Donut and cookies we got were fantastic. And no EVPs were harmed during the purchase and consumption of the pasteries.
google avatar

Inna Y.

Yelp
Went at around 9:30am on a drizzling Thursday so there was no queue and we went right inside. There is no sitdown area so you just come right up to the counter to order. We got the dulce de leche, iced hot chocolate, chocolate cronut and a hog fudge pastry (sorry, I forget the exact name). All were good but were kind of pricier compared to pastries and drinks in neighboring bakeries. Given their awards, and considering the price, we were honestly expecting to be wow-ed - yet sadly, we were not - so I can't say that I'll go back unless I'm in the area. Still worth a try if you haven't been yet!
google avatar

Anne W.

Yelp
Absolutely love Mindy's! The bagels here are some of the best in the city! I usually get an everything bagel with the giardiniera cream cheese and it is so good. Their sweet pastries of course are amazing. Their donut is basically one of my favorites and the yum yum cake is very appropriately named! The service is always so good, everyone working there is so nice and they are very speedy. There's usually a line out the door, especially on weekends but it moves pretty fast. There's a tiny little spot in front of the table with stools to sit but otherwise, this is a take-out-only establishment.
google avatar

Sydney L.

Yelp
High quality hand made artisan sourdough and pastry breads. Very good, typically sells out daily
google avatar

Charissa F.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely delicious! I unfortunately don't know the name of the pastry I ordered but it was very crispy, buttery, flaky and full of delicious beef and cheese. It was the perfect breakfast after my Saturday morning walk. The inside doesn't have much seating but they are air conditioned. We are outside sipping on homemade strawberry lemonade in 100 degree weather!
google avatar

Carly S.

Yelp
I wish I could rate Mindy's higher than 5/5 stars because I LOVE it. I've always wanted to go and finally got to this morning and it was everything and more. Thankfully, the line was short and we were in and out in about 5 minutes. I honestly wish I could have ordered everything they had because everything looked and sounded SO good! I got the cheesecake poptart and the banana kolaczki and I was truly sad when they were both gone. In addition, the staff were the friendliest humans ever. I cannot wait to go back and get both treats again along with trying out some new ones! Cannot recommend Mindy's Bakery enough
google avatar

Sunny P.

Yelp
Does not meet the hype! The croissant was good but I've had better. It's not as laminated as the upscale/very true to french style croissant. It was still tasty. The bagels are good but a little bit too chewy. Definitely don't go expecting an NY bagel. The hot chocolate is a big let down. At 12 dollars, I would expect it to be phenomenal. It was deadly sweet. Like way too sweet. It made my teeth hurt sweet lol. I had some sips and chucked it. But seriously.... 12 dollars?!?!? I'm still thinking about it and mad that I spent that much on hot chocolate. Go to chocolate uzma in Pilsen. Much better hot chocolate - and actually has quality chocolate in it - not just some milky extra sugary drink.
google avatar

Kaitlyn C.

Yelp
I have to say that Mindy's bakery is worth the hype. I came at opening and waited in line which there is always a line. You could smell the baked goods which is always what I want in a bakery. There's a good variety of pastries and had to try a few. I got the ham and cheese croissant, quiche, coffee cake, and morning bun. My favorite was the ham and cheese croissant and the morning bun. The quiche was very good but the only thing is I wish the skin wasn't on the potato inside the quiche. Other than that, it was very delicious. The coffee cake wasn't dry either which I was worried about. Every pastry seems to be like you won't go wrong with any of them!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Mindy's is a must-visit if you are in the Wicker Park area! The pastries are fresh and made with care. With inventive and creative flavors, you won't find another bakery exactly like it. Although the lines are often long, they move pretty quickly. It is quite small and crowded inside, so plan on taking your food to go. Personally, I do tend to find some pastries better than others. The strawberry kiwi streusel tart was exceptional with interesting and perfectly balanced flavors. The poached pear streusel tart, however, seemed too sweet and the delicate flavors were covered by heavy sugar and butter. I enjoyed the ham and gruyere croissant but will likely pass in the future. However, not all pastry lovers share the same taste, so this likely means there is something for everyone! Will definitely be back to try more.
google avatar

Luke G.

Yelp
It's true, if you don't go early you'll have to wait in line! However, the line moves at a good pace. It's quite an smooth operation as they move people through. The best problem to have resides here... paralysis by analysis. I could not choose what to get from the display. Everything looked so good! We got a collage of things. Loved most all of it, but the croissant was slightly bland. Texture was great though!
google avatar

Tracy L.

Yelp
Easily can spend $$$ here! Not only because there was so much to choose from, but also because it was pricey. I've only braved less than a handful of times, and there was always a line, but it moved relatively fast. I've tried too many items, I wouldn't even know where to begin. They have a variety of savory and sweet. My go-to is their Almond Croissant, and my bf likes the Cinnamon Roll.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
I woke up at 7 am to get in line for Mindy's and can confirm it was worth it. The bagel is the best bagel I've had in Chicago and the croissant was also incredible. The prices were also pretty reasonable given the size of each pastry and the amazing quality of each. Definitely recommend going to try their savory pastries.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Finally got to try Mindy's and came away thoroughly impressed. The space is small but not packed, so it's easy to get in line and get what you need without bumping into anyone. You might wait a little as people look at the options. I went with a plain bagel and a vegan chocolate banana bread. The bagel had a delicious balance of crisp and chew, and the bread was cut thick as a brick for a hefty serving that did not disappoint. It was the right amount of sweet and hearty. I sipped on the Mindy's roast from Metropolis Coffee, and it complemented the bread and bagel well. Easy checkout process with very helpful and patient staff. I parked in the lot right next to the building, possibly in the same spot that former WWE champion Drew McIntyre parked in when he came by before a show. Remember, it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays!

Yelp
We had a mixed experience with Mindy's Bakery, heading there for an early Sunday outing. We arrived a few minutes before opening, so the line was relatively short. We got in with the first group of people and chose two items for each of us: a ham and cheese croissant, gluten free danish, kouign amann, and a special bananas foster kolache. First the great: the croissant was fantastic. Given how much ham was in the middle, it was nearly a croissant breakfast sandwich. Very filling and delicious, with a good amount of mustard to add some extra zing. The kolache was also excellent. I'd also like to recognize great service from the staff. Besides being friendly and welcoming, the person helping us offered to change gloves before handling the gluten free item we ordered. Very thoughtful. The just good: the gluten free danish. While nice, it was lacking in flavor. The brutal disappointment: the kouign amann. First, it was huge - that should have been a red flag, but since these are one of my favorite pastries I couldn't resist. It was much closer to an unfrosted cinnamon roll (minus the cinnamon) than a kouign amman: layers of pastry inside that were pretty loose and didn't have the sugary crunch that I would have expected from laminating with both butter and sugar. It was also supposed to have a fruity sugar (pear, maybe?) but no flavor came through. Not sure what happened there. I'd definitely return for croissants and maybe kolache. The rest of what we tried was pretty uneven, especially given the high price point for many items.

Yelp
It's definitely a fun spot to try. I enjoyed the items I got. My crossiant had laaaayyyers. Everything made perfectly. I was able to get there between rushes and was only in line for 20 mins. I've never been, and while they have a rough menu online, it really depends. They also have 1st and 2nd bakes, so items vary on time of day. The highlight was that they make dog treat, and my dog has really enjoyed them! I did knock a star off since I agree with some of the reviews regarding staff attitude/helpfulness.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday with my friend. There are no tables, just stools to sit at. I got a hot chocolate ($12) and my friend got a chocolate chip cookie and another pastry. The hot chocolate was way too sweet for my liking. It was very rich and thick - I couldn't finish it. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy, but I like my cookies like that.

Yelp
Stopped here after seeing Mindy on an episode of "Somebody Feed Phil". She seemed like a great person on the show so why not check out the bakery even though it wasn't actually featured in the show. What a shame!!! We arrived about 11:00am on a Sunday to find a line but it moved quick, maybe a 20 minute wait but worth every second. Stromboli was delicious! Smokey and savory with a flaky crust. Danish was not overly sweet, it was just right. Staff was friendly and kind. Had our snack on the little benches outside. I highly recommend checking it out and I'm sure you will see Mindy herself in the back in her kerchief.
