The 15 Best Chinese Restaurants In Atlanta

"Friends don’t let friends grocery shop while hungry, so we appreciate Red Lantern Chinese Cuisine. Located inside the City Farmers Market in Duluth, the stall has saved us more times than we can count. We gladly abandon our shopping list and allow our eyes to guide us toward the illuminated wall photos that display their Cantonese menu. Our preferred order is the beef brisket and tendon with bean curd, which comes braised in a rich flavorful sauce. The crispy salt and pepper squid is our next favorite thing here. And for a fee, they will cook up the fresh lobster you purchase from City Farmers Market." - candy hom

Hidden germ in Atlanta. I highly recommend ordering their Beef Ho Fan, Salt n Pepper Shrimps and more.

We had shrimp fried rice and beef noodles, and both were absolutely flavorful, with a deliciously fragrant aroma that comes from cooking in a hot wok. The portions were incredibly generous, and I hope they keep it that way—please don’t reduce the portion sizes! I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommended!

We dined at Red Lantern Chinese Cuisine in the City Farmers Market food court and were thoroughly impressed. We ordered the beef chow fun, fish maw with leek, and the seafood delight. Each dish was packed with flavor and showcased the coveted "wok hei" (wok flavor), particularly in the beef chow fun with its perfectly cooked, soft broad rice noodles. The seasoning across all dishes was spot-on—flavorful but not overly salty. For anyone looking to avoid the chaotic crowds at a certain well-known spot in GW, this restaurant is a fantastic alternative. Highly recommend giving it a try.

This is a really exceptional restaurant. The smokey wok flavor really comes through on the Seafood Vermicelli Chow Mei Fun / XO that I got. The Snow Pea Tips had good quality real crab meat in the egg sauce, and it tasted really fresh. The fried fish with XO sauce had a unique taste that I've never had before, and it might be the best fried fish I've ever eaten! I mixed some of the XO sauce and puffed rice from the fried fish with some white rice and made a whole new delicious flavor! The chili oil was really good, too. It's not as hot as I am used to, but it used Scechuan peppercorns like you are supposed to, instead of just red pepper flakes. The flavor was top-notch! The food is served in the traditional Chinese family style, where they give you big serving dishes that are meant to be shared, and then everyone eats some of everything out of their own small bowls. If everyone gets their own thing, there is no way you will be able to finish. All of the food tasted very fresh. I am excited to bring my family and friends here to let them try the food. I have to have that fish again. I'll try to post more pictures of the food the next time I come back.

Ordered R7 -the beef with scrambled eggs sauce on rice. It came with very little beef, mostly rice and sauce. It tasted good but not worth the price as it contained very little beef and mostly rice and sauce ☹️ I paid almost $15 for mostly rice ☹️

Google
My new spot for Chinese take out!! I love coming here now that I’ve found this place I’ve been ordering almost weekly 😅 sesame chicken, general tso, lo mein ( chicken & beef) and fried rice have all been spectacular. I’ve attempted other local Chinese take out spots in the past but the texture of the chicken always grossed me out. Here at red lantern (inside city market) everything to the quality, portion, flavor has all been amazing I’m obsessed with coming here. Of course customer service is excellent too no complaints, they’re all very sweet and I never feel rushed when ordering

Google
This place is inside City Farmers market. The size is generous. I ordered shrimp lo mein. There is not a lot of shrimp for the amount of noodles. The owner stated that lots of people get the vegetable lo mein, because it has lots of veggies unlike the shrimp, which has no vegetables. I will try the veggie next time

Yelp
Amazing food. Great service. Huge portions! It's tucked away in a farmers market among other food shops in a food court. And honestly it tastes better than most restaurants. I'm going to get fat coming here. And the lady that took my order must be owner because she was so nice and enthusiastic! I had to leave a review (I never do) because I was shocked to see how few there were. I got the salt and pepper squid and mongolian beef. Both were amazing!

Yelp
First things first - YES, you should order here!! The food is so delicious, fresh, and as close to Vietnamese/Chinese food as I've had in Gwinnett Co. Follow the signs outside, the food court is located on the left side and there's parking right at the door on the side of the building if you want to get in and out fast. I'd also recommend ordering ahead via phone call so long as you know what you want. If you don't know what you want, they have plenty of pictures of their food on the wall! Also, Vietnamese friendly. Can definitely take your non English or non Chinese speaking family here and they'd feel comfortable enough to order! I really appreciated that. The cashier was very friendly and lit up when she realized I was viet. FOOD: I got the beef chow fun and the salt and pepper tofu. Beef chow fun has the smokiness from the wok and the tofu was perfectly seasoned, albeit I wouldn't recommend getting this to go as it won't be as crispy. Even slightly soft, still great flavors. Cheap for portion size and flavor/authenticity. 5 stars for this style of Chinese food - aka Chinese food you would want at a wedding or home style. It's not $100 Peking duck but that's not what I was looking for from this place anyways!

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside of the City Farmers Market food court in Duluth I was craving Mongolian beef but the front register staff said they can't alter the rice plate and only what's on the menu is what they can offer with rice. I settled on the House Special rice plate ($13.95) which comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp. Surprisingly there was a lot of beef, shrimp, and only couple of pieces of chicken. The sauce was savory and the meats were tender and tasted fresh. The shrimp had no aqua fishy smell as well. My only con is I didn't find the price point ($14ish total) to be something I'd frequently want to pay for a take out type place like this vs somewhere else. All in all though, food is worth a try! I'd be back selectively if this was a last resort suggestion or if they had a lunch type special

Yelp
Note this place is inside the food court of the market but it's well worth a visit. green beans were spot on and amazing. Going back again to try other dishes

Yelp
Wife and I stood in front of the lady behind the counter trying to catch her attention so that we can place an order. She never made any attempt to look at us but rather kept banging on a bell to catch other people's attention so that they can come to pick up their order. So we waited patiently since she is obviously busy. She then went in the back for a little bit. We waited. She comes back out but again looked everywhere but at us. Did not want to be rude so we waited. But same thing happened: she went to the back, came back out but never tried to make eye contact with us. She just kept moving around looking at others. So we left. Will never give her my business.

Yelp
My daughter wanted Lo mein for dinner so we stop here for some since we were already shopping in city farmers market. Their food stall area was nice and clean and you can clearly see their food menu on the wall with pictures. Customer service was great, the lady took my order and my food came out quick. I tried the Lo mein with my daughter, and she loves it but to me i think it was a little plain. Rating 4 stars since the shop and customer service was good and I only tried the one dish. Definitely will bring the family to dry other dishes to give an updated review.

Yelp
Excellent. We found this place from a local map search and chose the highest ratings. This restaurant is accessible from the Asian grocery and is in the Food Court area. Signs on the outside are not apparent. Regardless, Authentic, almost, real delicious either way. Plenty busy and fast. We had the Sesame Chicken. Will come back.

Yelp
This is my to go place for Cantonese foods, the taste is authentic and it's hard to beat the value that you get for the money.

Yelp
Who closes on a Tuesday of all days ... food is good though just need too be open on Tuesdays ... that my only complaint

Yelp
The owners are from southern China. This is authentic southern fast Chinese food. The noodles are southern so it is mostly stir fried and can be a bit on the oily side but it is very good.

Yelp
Great place, food is awesome and it's right in the food court. And the beef chow fun and the sweet-and-sour pork both awesome.

Yelp
Literally the best Chinese food in all of metro Atlanta area. Great price, generous portions, excellent flavor. Authentic cuisine and an extremely friendly owner. I come here almost biweekly and I will always willingly make the 45 minute drive and go out of my way to come here when I want to eat Chinese food. She also does catering! For very reasonable price. Although you may have to wait a little on very busy days (typically Saturday afternoon), the wait is mostly very very short, which truly makes this place the perfect package.

Yelp
First and last time, went there based on the 5 star reviews. I ordered house special fried rice. In comparison to other Chinese restaurants in the area, the meat to rice ratio was on the almost nothing scale. I think pricing was expensive for just colored rice, some chicken specks and almost no beef. There was no carrots or peas and if they put half an egg on probably two pounds of rice, it was a lot.

Yelp
Great hidden restaurant in food court. First time eating here, would definitely eat here again. Sesames chickens and fried rice plates were really good.

Yelp
This place is amazing good. Fried Seafood with the thin noodles is one of my favorite.

Yelp
The boss lady does not know how to use Yelp, but the food is good and price is great so I decide to help her set it up. :) highly recommend.

Yelp
Red Lantern is a very authentic Chinese cuisine. I love many of their dishes. My family ate there almost every week. I love their black bean green pepper seafood dish, Yin Yurn fried vermiculite and salt pepper squids. Very yummy. And also their wet fried pork flat noodles. Many other dishes too. The lady in the front might not be fluent in English, but she is very polite , kind n friendly
