Wife and I stopped by here to give them a try. The sides were excellent. The spicy chicken sandwich may just be the best I have had in town. Rolls are great and the mac & cheese is one of the best we have had out dinning. Highly recommend stopping here, the sides are amazing alone!

TBH I had some Korean fried chicken that I couldn’t stop thinking about (in Okc) but today is my Tulsa run so I just looked for spicy chicken and oh. My. Goodness. The beautiful and kind young lady that helped me was precious (big eyes, very pretty, wish I had gotten her name) helped me with my order and I really thought that 2 tenders would not be enough. I was wrong. They were giant, I got 2 spicy ones with fries and the fries were so yummy , and the chicken IS hot but not habanero ruin it hot (although they have sauces that could make you cry if you want that). I just can’t wrap my mind around how yummy this chicken was. You have to wait a minute for it to come out of the fryer , unlike Popeyes which sits under a warmer …..and probably paid ABOUT the same price as fast food. I was caught off guard by this place, it was yummy and delightful. The butter for the roll came in a little hand scoop in a cup(not like the little plastic things you might get at a Panera). Worth the wait. Now my yummy Korean fried chicken place has a contender. It’s not fancy, simple digs but great service (for a counter serve) and sweet darling girl. I live in Norman but come to Tulsa every Tuesday. I’ll be back, Red Light !!

This place is awesome!!! My friend amd I came here to try it. We ordered the same thing. Half fried chicken. Green beans n mashed potatoes. Everything was amazing. Excellent fried chicken so crispy n juicy. Mashed potatoes were real potatoes. Everything flavorful. Service was great. Very clean. Cool atmosphere. Recommend 100%

Google
I had the catfish and macaroni cheese and french fries The problem I ran into was the catfish has a thick batter on it that is seasoned, but the catfish itself was very bland. Didn’t enjoy it at all. It was really hard to actually grab a bite that had flavor on it. The mac & cheese was creamy, but it was more like a heavy whipping cream like a cheesy mac & cheese so I really didn’t enjoy it at all My wife got the chicken basket with fries. The chicken was a lot better. The seasoning was good. and it was actually the better option the french fries that she had were very good also so I encourage you if you go there to get the chicken and french fries it was a much taster option but for me what I ordered was not really good.

Google
It’s this cute little joint on 11th Street in the old Route 66 district. You order from an old-school Shasta trailer, which is already a vibe, and then you get hit with some of the best fried chicken you’ll ever put in your mouth. We got the regular fried chicken and the tenders — both original and spicy — and every single bite was amazing. Lightly breaded, super flavorful, not greasy at all. Basically, if chicken had a red carpet moment, this would be it. And then the mac and cheese happened. I’m still thinking about it. Creamy, cheesy, pure comfort. I actually said out loud, “This might be the best mac and cheese of my life,” and I stand by that dramatic statement. The roll and butter? Also stupid good. Like, why is the bread this good? The place is small but had plenty of seating, super chill vibes, and honestly, I already want to go back. If you live in Tulsa or you’re just passing through, go eat here. Cancel your other dinner plans. This is the one.

I'm sad this place doesn't have more people in it to enjoy the food! The chicken was so delicious and the portion for the sandwich was great! Their fries are honestly some of the best I've had in a while, no ketchup needed.

Update Fast food chicken restaurants with the best salad. The big franchises or the independent locals? Who has it, the best? The competitors I selected are as follows: Slim Chickens, Chick-fil A, Waldo's, Zaxby's, Red Light Chicken, Chicken and the Wolf, and Charlies Chicken. Red Light Chicken had not been my favorite Chicken strip and wing joint. I didn’t expect to be impressed with their salad. Well, I was surprised. They have an amazing salad. Add chicken for $4. A bargain. The spicy chicken was a perfect match for the fresh greens and ranch dressing. In addition to being very good, what surprised me was the volume. I don’t know how they packed so much in such a small bowl. I think someone may have stood on it to compress it. We were stuffed before the bowls were empty. Out of the list, Red Light Chicken’s salad, with chicken and ranch dressing is the second best. A bargain and delicious. I could eat one right now. ******************************************************************Average, Chicken, Fish, and Fries all hot and crispy. Spicey Tenders were indeed spicey!

Google
Atmosphere was chill & relaxing, clean and staff was friendly & helpful but the food was mediocre. The macaroni was overly cheesy & the chicken is just plain old fried chicken tenders. The greenbeans are pretty good though & the roll and honey butter...I'd take seconds but the rest, just didn't meet my expectations. Maybe next time I will try something else on the menu?

Yelp
Pros: I get what the hype is about. Solid chicken and fries. Lots of sauce options. Good service. Cons: bare bones industrial decor. A to go place. Not a place to sit and eat.

Yelp
What a fun little chicken place! I love the decor and the atmosphere it produces. It got its name because the original restaurant was in the red light district. It is self serve, but the ladies taking the orders are extremely friendly and helpful. There's a cute little trailer for placing orders. This is close to our church so we will stop here on the way home frequently. We also intend to try their Monday leg special. Dan got white meat with Mac and cheese and I got dark meat with fries. The food was good. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Yelp
I've had this place twice. Once late at night and once around 7pm. When I had it late at night I only ordered chicken and it was pretty good. When I ordered it at 7pm everything was either different from when I got it the first time or just not good at all. I ordered 12 wings and 2 sides and I could only eat 2 wings. It was extremely salty, the sauce was super thick and they didn't give me what I asked for, the bread didn't come with the butter and the sides were AWFUL!! Never order sides ever. They didn't even taste like what they were. I was in complete disbelief. The first time I had it I was craving it because the garlic buffalo sauce was good, the chicken was crispy and the butter and bread combo was so amazing. I ordered more chicken the second time just to get an extra roll and butter. Only to not get it. I ordered on door dash. The second experience was so bad that I doubt I'd ever eat here again. I'm giving it 2 stars because the first time was good but the second time was so bad I can't give it any more points than that.

Yelp
I had some business with the Sky gallery in Tulsa around lunch time, and saw that the Red Light chicken restaurant next door was open. A nice little place that specializes in chicken but with plenty of other items on the menu to please everyone. The Sky gallery folks suggested the fried catfish so that's what I ordered. It came with a tasty coleslaw, roll & honey butter, and I chose the mashed potatoes with white gravy as my side. The catfish came out a beautiful golden brown, nicely seasoned with a yummy tartar sauce. The mashed potatoes & gravy were delicious. The coleslaw was workman like, but with a vary small portion. The roll was good & the sweet butter was a nice touch. Next time I visit the Sky gallery I'll revisit Red Light chicken and test out the chicken. Give Red Light chicken a try, I don't think you'll be sorry.

Yelp
Gosh what a good chicken joint! Without looking at the menu, I was a little thrown off when we ordered a whole chicken, I just put trust in my brother, who had been there before. Expecting a whole oven baked chicken or something, I was pleasantly surprised when we were handed a basket of quartered and deep fried chicken. It was great tasting and juicy . Sides were great too! Atmosphere had a unique hipster feel. Great service!

Yelp
Fried chicken joint. Original location was in the former red light district of Tulsa. Hence the name. Counter service. We both ordered the 1/4 chicken. Hers was dark meat and mine white meat. Her side was fries and mine Mac&cheese. We're both pleased with our choices. The yeasty rolls come with a sweet honey butter. Wide open and airy the dining space appears to have once been a service bay for vehicles.

Yelp
Great visuals upon entering. We were hungry and hopped in because it was close! Chicken was good, server was sweet and helpful the roll was the best. The spices on the chicken were nice but almost seemed like they were trying to mimic KFC

Yelp
We stopped in after the lunch rush, and we were the only people there. It's a clean and casual atmosphere- you order at a retrofitted camper trailer, which is a cute touch. We each ordered spicy chicken sandwiches, and they were good. The heat isn't too much at all- it builds a bit as you eat. They use chicken tenders in the sandwich. The fries were stellar- crinkle cut and very crispy. The kids got Mac and cheese for their sides- that was good as well- very creamy. The food tasted fresh, and the portions were large. The tab for 3 regular meals and 1 kids meal was around $60. I'd like to come back to try their spicy bone-in chicken. They also have regular- non-spicy as an option.

Yelp
So close to 5 stars!! Ok everyone, we were visiting, and due to our original destination being ridiculously overbooked, red Light Chicken is where we landed. Best to worst:::... Mac n cheese... agreed by the table, 100% legit!!! Her chicken salad sandwich, 7/10. It lacked a little seasoning. His 12p wings, 4/10, very dry, and seemed like they sat under a heat lamp for a while too long. Bbq sauce was awesome though!! My chicken tenders 9/10!! Super good and juicy! Very impressed. I poured honey and hot sauce all over mine and then got to work! Banana pudding needed more Nilla's and nannas! 6/10 Overall 6.5/10

Yelp
This place was recommended by a local while we were checking out stops on Route 66. It was a pleasant surprise! The chicken didn't taste super fried- it had good flavor. It came out quickly and with a smile. The inside was cute and it has a patio so we could eat with our puppy. Loved that the chicken sandwich was almost like a taco, the bread wasn't cut all the way through so our food didn't fall out one side.

Yelp
The best chicken hands down and I'm from Houston Tx!! The chicken is amazing I always get the spicy kind it never disappoints
google avatar

Yelp
I thought the chicken here was super tender and crunchy. The food came out hot and fresh. The sweet potato casserole is a fun side that I have never seen offered at a chicken joint. I really liked the ranch and Buffalo sauce, just a shame they charge for more than one sauce. The service was nothing special, same for the ambiance. The first time I visited, I ordered a Strawberry Fields cocktail and it was super tasty. The second visit I ordered the same drink and it was pretty bland so that was a bummer. Overall, great food. Prices are a little high for what it is, but it's probably the location.

Yelp
I got a spicy chicken sandwich and a side of Mac&cheese very good best chicken sandwich I've had. The service was great very friendly, ambiance nice, good music. Past by this place a few.times glad I stopped in. I'll be back again A+++

Yelp
We were visiting from Vegas and decided to give Red Light Chicken a try. The service was really great and fast, we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. I tried their cranberry margarita, which unfortunately was watery and lacked flavor. For an appetizer we had the queso and chips, which was an odd dish for me as the chips were wavy potato chips instead of tortilla chips. The queso had good flavor, but I couldn't get over how off the potato chips tasted with it. On a positive, our entrees were delicious! I had the two strips (spicy) with crinkle fries and a roll. I usually can't eat the entire meal, but this was so good I demolished it! My boyfriend had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and we both agreed it was some of the best hot chicken we've had. I love spicy food and this definitely had a good kick, while still being enjoyable to eat. The chicken was moist and the fries had the perfect crisp. I'd definitely recommend this place for the entrees- not so much the drinks and queso.

Yelp
My daughter and I had always heard wonderful things about Red Light Chicken but had never been in the area to try it out. Luckily, we were right next door during her senior pictures. After 5 hours of pictures we were quite hungry and decided to give it a try. When you go inside, you go to the counter in the middle (a little camper if I remember right) and order there. It was clean and a cute little place. The worker was super friendly and helpful. You can order your chicken regular or spicy. You can also do a combo of both, which is what I did. I got the two piece and did one piece of each with garlic buffalo, and for my side I got Mac and cheese. It also came with a roll. My daughter did a 3 piece all spicy with ranch and buffalo, Mac and cheese, and fries. It was so good and fresh! The spicy is in fact that, SPICY. But we sweated through it and enjoyed every bit of it. I definitely recommend Red Light Chicken!

Yelp
Another addition to the Mcneillie's restaurant group in downtown where El Guapo used to be located. We went to Red Light Chicken on a Friday night for dinner. First clue it was probably a bad idea, the place was completely empty. This didn't deter us we wanted to try this place for a while anyways. We started with the Deviled egg dip with fried saltines. Deviled eggs are usually a great go to appetizer for us but this dish was pretty disappointing. To accompany the appetizer we got their frozen hard limonade swirl with cherry. It tasted terrible, like a cheap premade drink full of artificial flavors. For the main course we decided to share the whole fried chicken with two large sides. You can get half spicy and half original flavor. The spicy flavor was better, not too much kick. The original flavor was so bland definitely would not recommend this. We picked cole slaw and fries for the sides both solid standard sides. Unfortunately the food and drinks were very underwhelming, there are much better options for fried chicken in town. We probably won't return to Red Light Chicken unless we were going out with others who wanted to go there.

Yelp
So upset I discovered this place so late, was driving down 11th and it never caught my eye. Walked in and loved the atmosphere, but let me start with the service. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door, cashier had recommendations for my first time. We tried everything literally EVERYTHING. Wasn't disappointed one bit, also took home 6 more tenders. One of the best chicken spots I've discovered and don't forget to grab the Mac!!!
google avatar

Rochelle L.

Yelp
Food was good and reasonably priced and they even had a frozen cocktail that was really good.
google avatar

Anna D.

Yelp
Went here Friday night 10/21/22 Prob won't be back. Fried chicken legs were that crispy. But the breading did have okay flavor. I got 1 spicy and two regular drumsticks and the spicy was actually pretty spicy. My boyfriend got the catfish. Not good. Not sure it was even cooked all the way through. The best was the friend pickle fries. Had high hopes for this place because all the other restaurants in this group are really good.

Yelp
Ok....this place is owned by some area restaurant group...and it's a good enough place to eat...if you're in the mood for all things chicken. Here's how it broke down for us tonight: Fried chicken: regular or spicy was good. A good fry texture on the outside. The chicken was still juicy enough and tasty. The hot chicken....doesn't seem too hot at first. But as you keep eating....or underneath the skin, there will be these orange pockets of spice flavor. The hot chicken, will certainly be packing a little heat, for the average person. Good flavor....but it does begin to grab your attention at times. Green beans: Had bits of bacon and such - these green beans were very good. Mac & cheese: I thought it was good...the pasta noodle had a denser chew. Had a deeper cheesier flavor. The 20+ crowd at our table, turned their snooty noses up at it. But it wasn't that bad at all. Mashed potato and gravy: the potatoes themselves were good. The gravy was somewhat bland and mundane. It didn't ruin the potatoes....but it didn't make them "pop" either....like a great gravy should. Honey butter for the rolls: A real good honey butter it was! By all means, I'd go back, if I wanted this kind of meal. I suggest sitting on the rooftop...it was a good quaint area...a bit of music...the breeze..it was a good spot.

Yelp
I've been on a Chicken Sandwich Tour for the past year strong. Hitting up a new spot is an excuse (it was actually a meeting) to add a new stop to the tour. Going with the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich along with a side of Green Beans was the epitome of balance. Their spicy chicken tenders are actually spicy. With an addition of pickles & habanero mayo with the brioche bun, the sandwich was overall incredible. I originally went with their crinkle chips & made a last min switch with the Bacon Garlic Green Beans. The green beans made the heat from the chicken cool off a tad bit. Plenty of bacon in the green beans, garlic was subtle. They have PLENTY of sides to choose from like sweet potato casserole, mac & cheese, wedges, etc. The waitress was great, checked on the table quite often & hooked us up with some of their rolls. I want to come back just for their desserts, I didn't have room for it this time around.
google avatar

Tyrone S.

Yelp
First time grabbing it at the new location! Great little spot with some outdoor seating. Got the spicy check half and some wings and it definitely didn't disappoint! But the star of the show was the Mac n cheese wow! So creamy and good to me, I'd be back just for the Mac N Cheese!
google avatar

Yelp
I had eaten Red Light Chicken before when they were downtown and the menu was a bit more expansive. This evening we ordered two meals, a quarter meal of fried chicken with fries and a tender meal with mashed potatoes and gravy. We also ordered an extra side of mac and cheese, plus two black cherry cocktails. The food came quick and was made perfect to order. The chicken was golden and full of flavor. The Mac and cheese is very tasty here and the black cherry cocktails fit the meal well. One of the highlights here too is the rolls that come with the meal and the honey butter spread. I would be willing to have a pint of that butter for home. Overall we think Red Light Chicken is a great choice and will probably go back soon. Sidenote: we do miss the larger menu from the original location.

Joshua T.

Yelp
I have been missing out my whole life on this place somehow. Absolutely delicious food and drinks. Maybe the best mac and cheese. And the Chicken legs were fantastic as well. Great service and vibes too. Definitely will be back.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly from the hostess to the wait staff. We had the all you can eat spicy chicken white meat. It was ever juicy. The spice level was on point. We also had the spicy chicken tender sandwich. The habanero Mayo was really good,it's not overly spicy. We also had the pickle fries with ranch which were delicious.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
Went searching for some really good fried chicken. Unfortunately, we didn't find it here. We should've known when it was almost empty Saturday at lunch. The breading on the chicken on the bone was so thick and uncooked, I couldn't eat it and everyone knows that's the best part. It wasn't crunchy either. The sides were okay. Service was attentive. Pricing was okay. We wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Eileen S.

Yelp
Their spicy chicken burger has quite a kick which we really enjoy. The different sides - chips, fries and Mac & cheese - were great too. We will be back when we want some spicy chicken.
google avatar

Krupa H.

Yelp
Love the location and the decor. The service was pretty good. The food was also pretty good. I had gone with a foodie group that I belong to. And we all felt that they were overpriced for what we got.
google avatar

Sherena J.

Yelp
Food was good, the portions were small on the sides and the chicken Queso. I didn't care for the coleslaw, it wasn't bright and fresh and the veggies were cut larger than I like. I might go back, I enjoyed the ambiance and everyone was friendly. The fried chicken was very tender and flavorful. Although, my daughter found a hair under the chicken. I asked her if it might be her hair and she said "my hair is up" sure enough, If you zoom into the picture you can see the hair

Yelp
Tuesday afternoon at 5pm. Met my son and daughter for dinner. We have been wanting to try Red Light since they opened. The decor was clean, modern and appropriate. We sat on 1st floor and did not venture upstairs. Service was fantastic. Quick, attentive and friendly! Food. I ordered the 1/2 chicken regular along with side of bacon green beans. Chicken was very tasty. Juicy, hot, and tasty breading. Green beans were good. Son ordered the hot chicken sandwich with Habanero mayo. Ohhh....it was spicy but very, very good! If you like spicy, you will love the sandwich. My teen daughter got the homemade tenders. Wow! Overall, we had a great experience! Highly recommend and we will be back.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Had my wife grab some takeout from the new location. She got me the spicy quarter bone in chicken. I got the breast and wing with mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was good. Chicken is SPICY as advertised. Didn't change my life or anything. However, my wife got the catfish with green beans and WOW!!! I ain't lying people, that's the best fried catfish I've ever had. Perfect. Green beans with lotsa butter & bacon were on point as well. Get over there and get that catfish. You'll thank me later.
google avatar

Bianca A.

Yelp
I ate on the rooftop in April and the weather was amazing! Beware, the sun is in your face when it's going down. The food was really good. We got the loaded fries. I got the spicy chicken - I like spicy and it was really spicy! So don't think you're getting the typical mild Oklahoma spice. Haha My husband got the regular chicken strips. We both really like them. The mac & cheese was pretty good too. And the rolls!! The rolls are very good. I'd come again
google avatar

Ed K.

Yelp
Friendly bar. Good prices. I'm an old timer who remembers colonel Sanders at Hardens Hamburger. It was the best. Also Golden Drumstick and Celebrity pan fried chicken. This isn't those but it is good. Service is outstanding.
google avatar

Colby B.

Yelp
Really solid bone in fired chicken !!! I was here in a THU night which was All U Can Eat, which was really good. Combine that with roof top seating in good weather & $4 schooners this place is a must stop in downtown Tulsa !!!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Today was leg day... $1 leg day!! It was also my first time here and I absolutely loved it!! Everything was super flavorful.

george b.

Yelp
Great service. Chicken was good. Shake and bake style breading. Both spicy and original were good. The Mac and cheese was outstanding. Noodles could have been cooked a bit more. But I don't like Al dente.
google avatar

Alesia C.

Yelp
not as good as I was, told it was. I will try anything once long as it doesn't kill me. So I wasn't that impressed but it was OK better than some of the chicken places around Tulsa.
google avatar

Andrew F.

Yelp
The first few times I went here the service was good, but lately the service has been lacking. It seems as though they don't have enough servers as first floor was closed down second floor was full and roof top was only half full on a Saturday night. All the servers they did have were young and inexperienced. The Food has always been good up until the last visit. The spicy chicken sandwich is absolutely amazing and the fried chicken is absolutely amazing and Don't get me started on the pickle fries appetizer with ranch it's a new concept that will blow your mind. The sides seem to always be good the mac & cheese is outstanding and the fries are always be fresh. On this latest trip we ordered the steak fingers and boy were we disappointed. I didn't know they would come frozen and reheated as they don't even make them fresh at the restaurant. The only dessert we have had there is the banana pudding that was outstanding, just as good as homemade. Atmosphere inside the restaurant is good with nice decor and rooftop dining on the third level it's too bad about the service. Honestly it's questionable whether we will return or not.
google avatar

Betsy W.

Yelp
No complaints on the service. It was friendly and quick. As for the rest, the green beans had an "old grease" sort of taste. The mashed potatoes were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. The spicy chicken was spicy so be prepared! I wonder if the regular has a different breading. Pieces were just a bit overdone, but the inside wasn't dried out. I'm not really a fan of the "gluten free" type chicken breadings that seem to be popping up all over, and am curious if that's what was on Red Light's Chicken. Rolls and honey butter were great. The new location has plenty of parking but the atmosphere needs a lot of work! Will I go back? Only if Evelyn's, Waldos and the Freeway Cafe all take Fried Chicken off their menus.

Hi T.

Yelp
The hot chicken sandwich is a couple of tenders on a bun but they pulled it off, good quality chickens very well prepared, would definitely order again! The chicken queso app is also very good, highly recommend! The service was fast, friendly, helpful! We'll be back !
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. But it's just kind of mediocre. Chicken is pretty good, sides are bland and taste like what you'd get at a buffet restaurant. Chicken and the Wolf has way superior Nashville chicken.
google avatar

Garold R M.

Yelp
I love good chicken but it's not always easy to find. I discovered that Red Light Chicken is definitely one of my favorites. It IS spicy (which I like) I prefer to experience good flavor along the heat and that's where this place doesn't disappoint! I know other chain restaurants have a spicy version and I enjoy them too but this is a whole other level. The service and staff was excellent as well. I hope to get back here soon!
google avatar

Bobby A.

Yelp
Chicken was great. Definitely his the spot. I didn't enjoy the coleslaw but the Mac and cheese was dabomb

Yelp
The calling card for RLC is the spicy chicken and it is spicy. If you're a fan of spicy food (like I am) this is the place for you, if you don't like spicy food you probably won't get it and will be disappointed. For those of us that love chicken you don't need to add hot sauce to you will love RLC. One caveat, at times they fry the chicken and the coating underneath doesn't fry all the way so it's soft underneath the outer shell and it's not great so I'm deducting a point for that. The sides are underwhelming, I've tried them all in many visits and they all taste like they came out a can. The mac & cheese is bland as is the green beans and mashed potatoes, none of them scream fresh to me like the chicken does. The chips have potential but could be so much better so fries and bread are your best bet here. I have to give the bread credit, it's good bread. Some of the other entrees aren't as spicy but still great, the fried shrimp is another favorite dish of mine here but let's be honest you are here for the spicy chicken and when it comes to that they deliver!

Yelp
Red Light Chicken is home cooking reimagined. It brings a modern vibe to family style comfort food in the heart of downtown Tulsa. We went for dinner and started with the chicken queso (served with homemade potato chips) and split the family meal with a huge platter of fried chicken served with family style sides (mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, mac & cheese, salad and dinner rolls). Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We were stuffed and had food leftover but made room for homemade banana pudding. With its location and style, I look for it to be a popular lunch or happy hour spot as they also had sandwich and chicken tender options as well as a full bar.

Yelp
We got the spicy chicken queso for appetizer, family style 1/2 (spicy) chicken with (small) macaroni and cheese, mash potatoes, potato wedges, and rolls. The spice level of the chicken queso and chicken was good! We also got the frozen hard lemonade and Shirley temple, delicious! The sides are good! Overall, we enjoyed our drinks and food. We sat downstairs right by the bar. The only thing my husband and I would like would be a bigger bar stools. The bar stools are very small for our bottom My husband hopefully next time when we come back, we get seated upstairs. The service is good!
