Red Lion Hotel Templin's on the River

Our first stay at this hotel and pleasantly surprised. We were attending the grand opening of an online fabric store in Post Falls, and I wanted to explore this town rather than stay in Spokane or CDL Resort. I joined Travel Pass so they upgraded us to a Riverview room. Pet friendly. On site restaurant was extraordinary in foor presentation. View of marina, but very few boats this time of year. The WiFi did not work, but the new access points are being configured now. The hotel is remodeled and really nice inside. The river side needs some new paint. The Tesla chargers work, not the other regular one. But there are many 120V receptacles outside so I plugged in overnight like I do at home. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The Sawmill restaurant closeby was close by and busy, for good reason, good libation and tasty eats. Would definitely stay here again.

Lobby was up to date. Took about 15 mins to be noticed by staff to check in. There is a $75 deposit per room that we were not aware of plus fees to use pool and towels etc that we were aware of. Rooms were outdated. The heater in our room kept switching off and upon inspection the outlet it was plugged into was broken and in my opinion dangerous.the chain lock onnthe door was bent so it kept popping off. There was mildew in the bathrooms and what looked to be a bad paint job over top of it.our bathroom heat light switch was broken. The mirror closet in our 2nd room had a Crack in it so we were scared to move it. The internet did not work whatsoever in either room. Our room phone also did not work and it was a walk to the front desk. Day 2 our key cards wouldnt work to even enter the building let alone our rooms. Staff however did seem friendly. We did not visit the bar/restaurant due to the cost we spent overall on 2 rooms plus deposits. Pool was nice and warm hot tub was hot but again a pretty long walk from our rooms to get to it. (I am disabled) we were in building B and the pool was in the main building and bottom floor. Will update if we can once our deposit is returned

Went to the restaurant in the hotel for New Years. Food was mediocre. Cocktails were underwhelming. No festive garnish or nice glassware. The entrance to the hotel and restaurant wasn't decorated for the holidays. Very lackluster hotel but it has potential to be a great place on the river.

We love staying here! It's our favorite spot along I90. Most recently, we stayed on our way from our way to our wedding. I forgot my credit card on the breakfast table (which was delicious, by the way). Within 10 minutes of leaving, Brittany had called to let us know we left it. Unfortunately, we were already running late and on the interstate, so we didn't want to turn around. No problem! She put it in the mail right away and it was in the mailbox by the time we got home!! Thanks so much, what a fantastic spot with fantastic people!

The rooms are not as nice as they seem in the pictures. Lobby and restaurant look modern, rooms are not, extremely dated. Also, this hotel recently started charging a $5.95 cent per day tourism fee/resort fee that is not disclosed when booking your reservation in the Sonesta application. It’s fine if you want to have a fee, but the business should be honest and disclose your pricing.

5 stars! Found this hotel on a whim and it was way more than expected. Private beach to access the beautiful Spokane River with our paddleboard. Rooms were clean and the friendly staff. Very pet friendly with a great exercise and potty area. Excellent restaurant with amazing food. Not one bad experience. Definitely made our trip a great one.

I had a most unpleasant experience with this hotel's receptionist Miss B. My son's phone was not working, and I had to call the hotel to get ahold of him. I asked to be transferred to him and gave the reception my son's room number and his name. Miss B refused to transfer me citing some sort of domestic violence, in what I am assuming is her life (only reason I didn't include her name in this review). While I am truly sorry for whatever she has gone through, at the end of the day it is not my issue and makes no sense whatsoever for this particular circumstance. She told me to call my son's cell phone, which I had already explained did not work. Long story short, she refused to transfer me, she would not put me on hold and call up to my son's room to verify that she could transfer me (which I thought was a reasonable request). THEN proceeded to tell me she was "glad that she wasn't transferring me"! Who says that to someone??!! What if there was an emergency?! I asked her for her name, which she gave me. When I asked for the manager's name and number, she hung up on me!! || My son did call me for a different reason shortly after.., and I asked if this Miss B. had relayed the message that I called (I was assuming that was why he was calling me).. and to my surprise he said she had not!!! I'm sorry, but she is an employee, and every experience is a marketing experience for the hotel. Who is this woman to decide that she isn't going to connect me to my child, who is only staying there while he is in training. Unbelievable! I did have my son get the name, number and email for the hotel management. I have already written to them about this unpleasant experience. I'm really just in awe that this Miss B not only rudely represented her place of employment, but didn't deliver the message that I even called!!! Needless to say, we will never utilize this hotel again!

Great hotel close to my family's house. Beautiful views. The sauna was way too hot for us, the hot tub is permanently closed, and my son liked the pool. There is a free coffee/tea bar. We packed a cooler for breakfast foods.

Everything about this hotel resort is great! The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant food is amazing.We had a great time.The rooms are clean and easily accessible Thank you for a wonderful stay

They have three overnight Tesla, EV chargers. The room was clean and partially updated. There was a huge thunderstorm and the power was out for about an hour, but came back on without incident. The bed was a little bouncy but fairly comfortable. I would stay here again.

Shady business practices. Hotel just started charging $5.95 cent tourism fee/resort fee per night to say there. Fees were not disclosed when making reservation in the Sonesta application. Rooms are not as nice as in the pictures. Lobby and restaurant is modern. Hotel rooms are extremely dated. Be honest with your pricing and disclose your fees at the time of booking

I like the location in Post Falls. It is not fancy but it is clean and the employees are friendly. There is a bar and restaurant on location but also many choices to choose from near the hotel.

Staff was friendly and the pool for the grandkids was great. There was no wifi in the room, told the front desk and they gave me access to another network but equally failed. Also no coffee available in the room.

The people were nice and the food at the restaurant is pretty good. Everything else is...meh. It's an old property that they have tried to update, but did the bare minimum. The rooms are completely average. The bed was so so. The window shade did not go up or down; the chain was stuck. The TV didn't work consistently. I had to unplug and replug the HDMI cable every time I turned it on. The most frustrating thing was this: I stayed here for a week and, on Tuesday I requested housekeeping. Front desk said sure. Returned at the end of the day, housekeeping never showed up. Same thing again on Thursday, housekeeping never showed up. Towels piled up in the bathroom and empty shampoo and soap. It seems that upper management told them not to service rooms during the stay because it is too expensive. Well, here is expensive: I will not be staying here again.

I've stayed here a few times now because it's the only acceptable hotel in Post Falls, but I'm rethinking my desire to be close to family and considering booking in CdA next time. It's a little longer drive, but the hotels are at least more typically maintained. The good: The room smelled clean and had fully stocked towels etc. microwave and small fridge included. The walls are clean, the bed was comfortable enough. The bad: No coffee maker in the room, so instead I'm walking all the way to the lobby first thing in the morning and carrying burning hot cups of coffee back to my room. Are you kidding? Queen beds come with three pillows. If you're sleeping two to a bed you need four. Small tv, bar soap, had to ask for toiletries after day 1, everything here feels dated. Final thoughts - paying for proximity isn't worth it when what you're paying for still isn't good.

Our hotel room smells like smoke and mold. It is run down. Rooms should be going for $79.99 per night. Missing carpet patches, doors that don't fit properly (we can see outside through door edges when door is closed), broken crooked curtains, dark and dingy. The room smells so bad I could hardly sleep here. I was worried turning on the old air conditioner due to legionnaires or some bacteria that it could be harboring. The internet is also terrible! You can't watch YouTube without the screen being completely pixelated and buffering every minute or so. Coffee in the morning at 5am was not fresh. Old and actually cold from the night before. No decaf either. Do not stay here. This hotel is really in poor condition. The only good thing about our room was the bed was comfortable.

It is an older property, and it shows. But it's okay for a getaway, when you get one of their jetted tub rooms. And the location really is amazing on the river. One thing to know is the building is really long, so simple things like grabbing coffee in the morning is a hike, depending where your room is. They have a restaurant on the premises, but it wasn't open the night we stayed. I loved the sunken spa in our room and used it several times during our overnighter. I would surely stay here again.

Overpriced, bad room service. My bed had a strong urine smell and room service did not change the mattress. 200$ a night!

Why do you promote "breakfast included in price", then have multiple signs to limit how much your guests eat AND still have a tip jar? Not to mention the incredibly rude busser attending the breakfast area. I asked her "Is there milk?" She responds "We're out of milk, we're out of a lot of things." No apology, nothing. Just "we're out." Okay, no worries. I asked if they had a sign they could put up because three of us had just poured ourselves a bowl of cereal and it's going to be a waste for you them and she says "well if I had milk, there would be a milk sign" what kind of answer is that??? Like we were automatically supposed to know they're out of something. I understand that life happens and you're going to run out of things, but a simple apology goes A LONG WAY and so does not speaking to paying guests that disrespectfully. They were out of everything and her excuse was "I was gone for the last 5 days" so no one could go get eggs, milk, or cream cheese? Incredible view, but our morning was soured by Melinda's attitude.

Black mold 3" strip across the bottom of bathroom door No safety bars in tub which is really high to step over. NOT CLEAN, carpets are filthy. If it were not for the excellent location this place would never have a return guest. City health dept should take a Quick Look at this dump. Lobby, on the other hand is gorgeous (recently completely remodeled). Front desk staff do their best to make you comfortable but the owners don't back them up. What a waste!!

This place could've so much more if it were updated. Stunning views from the river and a really nice bar and restaurant area. Rooms were okay, clean but old carpet. It's not kept very clean out on the patio, tables were stained and dirty. Debris on the carpet outdoors where you can tell nobody ever sweeps or cleans it. Good enough place if you don't want to spend as much as the others.

Absolutely Disgusted, building reflects little to no pride of ownership. Dirty and serious lack of maintenance. Understaffed and of what few are there only two (bartender and daytime desk agent) seemed to care and offer good guest service. No coffee in the rooms. The do not offer daily housekeeping it on request or every 3 days. We requested housekeeping from the night desk our second night as we had gone through our towels and shower supplies and in the morning again contacted one of the housekeepers and she assured my wife the room would be cleaned, she even flipped the latch to hold the door open as her cart was in front of the room. We left for the local theme park and we're gone all day to return finding the door still propped open and the room hadn't been touched. This was very concerning as I travel with a firearm but felt I shouldn't leave it in the car Atari's theme park so along with several other valuables it was left in our room which was left insecure all day by housekeeping. The next day we spent time sight seeing and after a long day we went to the pool and hot tub. This area was dirty and smelled. Missing light covers and peeling paint also seemed to be a theme. Hot tub was actually a very cool tub I stepped on a intake cover laying on the bottom of the tub and scratched my foot after a few minutes the jets stopped and we couldn't get the timer to start them again, boy reported the heated pool to be cold with a capital C To top it the day we left I used the public restroom adjacent to the lobby and over priced restaurant only to find a divider leaning up against a urinal If We ever return to the area we will not even consider the Red Lion at Templins

Fantastic service and the food was 10-10. Mykenna was a great help. Loved the back patio with the river. clean facility I will definitely be telling my friends about this wonderful place. Don't know why the reviews are so low because this place is amazing!!! Happy hour all night on Monday night football.

What a sham. I got took for the price i paid. The room has significant damage to the door and all around, there is no coffee creamer, and the tv remote does not work. The rate I paid was not discounted at all, so imagine my surprise when I learned that breakfast was an additional fee of $13 despite breakfast being an amenity, and late check out was one hour later and had a fee too. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they charged me a fee for the pool and fitness room and for leaving this feedback. The carpet was new and nice.

We reserved the room on orbitz and it wasn't what we expected, it appears the hotel is being remodeled and the dish network even doesn't work properly and with the internet hooked up to the tv it appears to lag off and on. Other then that the beds are nice and they are comfy as well but the room appeared a little bare as there's only like a couple art work paintings and no small couch as well.

We do not recommend this hotel. We thought what a great hotel along the river. What great views. Well the pool was closed, someone threw up in it we were told. Not covid. The dinner menu was limited and over priced. The room next door was smoking and it came up through the middle door between rooms. We did not know them. The odor from the cigarettes was so bad we had to shut the bathroom door. Our room got charged a smoking rate. My wife smoked OUTSIDE, as was required. When we left I told the front desk about the room next to us and their smoking issues. They kept no record of my complaint. I spoke to the manager and the hotel management several times after our stay to say smoking was done by their standard, outside. After numerous calls they were going to give me some credit for the overcharge. It never happened. I called three more times to say, hey, you forgot to give me the credit. They stopped returning my calls. I did not use any colorful language or make any threats. It was only after 10 calls talking to people and waiting over two months I am now asking for a total refund when I have received such poor customer service and for being double charged. We do not recommend this hotel.

Toni welcomed our group and was warm and accommodating. The coffee in the lobby was decent and always available. Lobby was large and receiving. Pointing out all negatives of the room would be petty. It was clean and decent. Would not be my first choice but I'm sure most out here is pretty much the same. Staff was kind and a restaurant on premises helped a great deal with breakfast.

Absolutely one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Our room had a broken AC. Couldn't shut it off w/o unplugging. Very outdated rooms. No coffee in rooms. Beds very uncomfortable. I woke up, from what little sleep I got, in pain w my bad and hips. Hallway was nasty w food in the stairwell. All the outside windows had broken screens. It looks like people have moved in and living here full time. I don't complain much on hotel stays but this one is a doozy! I don't recommend this location at all. Suites on the river, my ass!

This hotel was disgusting. It is obvious the owner couldn't care less about the property. There was mold all around the sink and AC unit. The walls were nasty. The pillows were different shades of yellow. This place only gets a two star because of the front desk person was very friendly and understanding.

Rooms small and old. Staff took forever to check in and then needed switch rooms was a nightmare Needs updated would not stay there again. The only thing it had was a view which they charged way too much for. People where smoking outside the side with a view hard to enjoy it.

This could be a nice and modern hotel if the rooms were updated as they are very old.

Excellent, helpful staff. We got there right after "summer season" so the kayak and paddle board rentals was closed, but to be honest, we didn't know about it in advance, so we didn't really miss anything. Great view of the river from the indoor swimming pool room. Clean laundry room (chores even on vacation). The apple trees, lining the driveway, attracted geese and provided a lot of relaxing entertainment. This was my husband's favorite hotel on our 2 week trip.

The entire experience at this hotel was magical due to Maddie who worked the front desk (other staff encountered (including one of the owners) wasn't nearly as friendly but could have been a bad day for them). While we understand that every hotel is short staff right now, she went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. There were some hiccups with breakfast not being available due to staffing issues and a few other small housekeeping items but I believe we would definitely stay here again. Beautiful views, Close to everything, and just a short driving distance to many trails and parks. I would definitely give Maddie 5 stars. As far as the overall hotel.... I'd say 3.5 stars and the buffet breakfast would get a 1 star as it mostly did the job it was supposed to and fed the kids.

This used to be a destination. Now, it must be a tax write-off for Red Lion, and it is really sad. First, the bads. It doesn't look like any money is spent on maintenance inside or outside other than what is needed to keep it in business. For example, none of the furniture or decor in our room matched. We got the Double Jetted Tub Suite, but it was just an over-large room with the jacuzzi, bed, bureau and TV, and desk and chair. The TV was too small to be seen well from the bed and in the wrong place to be seen from the jacuzzi. Besides, the remote didn't work. The bed was hard, pillows small and lumpy, and sheets thin. There was a bar with small sink, cupboards and drawers, small fridge, and tiny microwave; no coffeemaker. The water in the sink didn't work. The bathroom was fine, but the toilet paper and tissues were the cheapest, and although toiletries were included, they were only ok. The bathroom door itself had lost the paper veneer along the bottom and sides, and its particle board construction was starting to break down. I noticed that every hotel room door had scuffs, scrapes, and poorly patched holes. When checking in, nobody was around, and it took 15 minutes to find anyone to check us in. The decor in the lobby was tired and out of date. Some of the windows in the restaurant, which looked out on the river, were cloudy and should have been replaced. Last, their debit machine was so slow that it couldn't register the charge, so we gave them our credit card. Turns out, they ended up charging us twice; once on credit and once on debit. A week later we are still trying to get hold of the person who can reverse one of the charges. Now the goods. The room was clean, the jacuzzi worked well and was clean. The bathroom had a hairdryer, and I loved the black soap. The restaurant had a great chef. We had the Prime Rib dinner special with grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes, and rolls. Although we paid extra to add a dinner salad, it and the rest of the meal were excellent with great views of the river. The bartenders made two very good Bloody Ceasars. The free coffee in the lobby was rich, dark, and strong; just the way I like it. We paid $271 for a so-so room with no real place to sit, but great food. You decide if it's worth it.

Excellent customer service! a special shoutout to Robert, Gary and Madeline, front desk clerks, who are some of the hardest working employees I've ever seen. sadly, they are way overworked which is due to staff shortage, as explained to me by Red Lion's sales manager. Yes, even the sales manager pulled away from his job to come down and help the front desk. The teamwork is remarkable. A clean, beautiful place with reasonable prices, spectacular views and kind staff just can't be beat. I highly recommend this place to all and I won't stay anywhere else when I visit. Don't take my word for it go see for yourself. You'll be happy you did.

Oh my! Where to begin!! To start, let's be clear that the condition of this hotel is something that has been developing long before covid. It was evident there must be a staff shortage but the issues we encountered appear to be longstanding. Our stay was mid July 2021. This hotel, that charged us over $200 a night, with a discount, for a tiny, dirty room facing an equally dirty parking lot was the first issue. The non-smoking room was small, the carpet was very dirty, most everything was covered in dust, there was mold in the bathroom, tape stuck on the walls, stained bedding and smelled musty. The room had maintenance issues like the bathroom door stain peeling, gouges in the walls and the yellowed with age bathroom vent covered in yellow condensation drip stains. The hotel offered no information on their hotel and the amenities. No book or printout letting you know what they had available, where anything was, hours of the restaurant, pool, etc. So, after we arrived, we decided to wander around to see what there was to see and do. Asked the front desk where the pool was located. The most the desk person could muster was, "it's below the lobby." No offering of directions of how to get there or hours. When we ask she told us the pool closed at 10pm but did not tell us that it actually stayed open until 11pm for those 18 and over per their signs in the pool area. The pool signs also state you must shower before entering the pool or hot tub but there is no evidence of a shower in the pool area. We had to search for the shower, which was in the restroom outside of the pool area. The entire pool area is pretty filthy. The windows are dirty. The pool deck has not seen a scrubbing in years by the amount of dirt accumulated around the edges. When we went to check out the pool area, someone has taken several pool noodles and torn them apart and scattered the pieces everywhere- it took them 3 days to clean that up. Someone left a beer glass on the table in there (no drinks are allowed) but it remained on that table for 3 days as well. The garbage can was overflowing and as of day 4, it was still overflowing. The pool room smelled moldy and musty. It appeared the hot tub hasn't had a thorough cleaning in years. All over the hotel there were clear signs of neglect, lack of maintenance and cleaning. The horrific lobby furniture (someone needs an interior designer) was dirty and stained. The room window screens were torn and dirty, garbage on the ground, outside garbage cans overflowing. There is a dilapidated rope fence on the path down to the marina that has the posts broken and laying on the ground with the rope. Dirty pool towels strewn everywhere on the grounds near the swimming area. Not freshly dropped towels but towels that had been sitting there for days at least. It does seem they are "renovating" rooms but to shove old carpet up against the window facing out front of the hotel looks so tacky. Overall, it is a sad, depressing place that overcharges for what they offer. I can't even fathom how a manager or owner can look at what they are doing there and think they are providing a great experience. The fact that is on the river does not in anyway warrant their prices. The river view and access is limited. The swimming area is okay but there is a much larger, nicer park on the other side of the river near there that is much better. The pros- Water pressure was great, the beds were comfortable. There are several good places to eat within walking distance. (Their restaurant is very overpriced for what you get.) They do provide an iron and ironing board, microwave and fridge. Of note- no coffee makers in the rooms. They do offer coffee in the lobby. On day 2 they ran out of sweetener and my husband let them know they were out and needed to replenish. On day 4, they still had not replenished the coffee supplies. For the money, stay elsewhere. We would have but we were stuck. We will never go back. Probably one the worst hotel stays we have had and probably the most expensive! Photos only show a fraction of the problems.

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion due to the view of the river and patio off our first floor room. Employees did not have masks. We were the only guests with masks. We were able to social distance as the hotel was only 25 percent occupied and we did not use the restaurant. The bed and room were old.

King room on the basement floor. Dirty worn carpet, bathroom in disrepair. The river view wad a motel style walkout to unmowed, littered grass. It was rare to have someone at the front desk. The lady that was working wasn't in uniform, I wouldn't have known she was an employee. The pictures of the pool online do NOT represent the facility. It is run down, hot tub was barely lukewarm, had a layer of scum at the water level and there were no clean towels. Not surprising that red lion hotels are going out of business. Book elsewhere! Anywhere else...​

Booked our room for a week online, had an email confirmation of price. Was told the price included all taxes and fees. Upon check out, was told a price that was more than $200 more than quoted. Spoke to the lady at the front desk, she informed us that it was due to pet fees, charged daily. This was not explained upon check-in. She checked our room and let me know that she would remove the pet fees due to cleanliness of the room. Three days later, charges went through, including half of the pet fees. When I contacted the hotel, I was informed that I was going to be charged for half the pet fees. I had even provided them with the email from booking. Very frustrating to have no consistency and be misled!

Dirty bathrooms with hair left in the shower. No trash liners. We originally booked for one night and decided to extend our stay another night. The guy at the front desk had the hardest time. First he said 'yes we have availability'... then... 'no we don't'... then... 'oh yeah, we can do that'. It was during the middle of the week and the place was dead. After the first night (even though we had already extended our stay) our door key cards were deactivated. Every time you need something from the front desk plan on standing in line for 10+ minutes even if you're the only one there. There is a breakfast buffet every morning from around 7am-10am. The first morning we went down there and there was no one there. We weren't sure if we were supposed to start serving ourselves or what. We asked the lady at the front desk and she told us the server would be down there shortly and that we could get started. We were down there eating for about 20 minutes and the server finally came to our table. She asked if we had a voucher. We did not. Then she said 'you know it's $11, right?'. It was such an awkward interaction. When we got our bill we were charged about $11.75 per person, not the $11 that was advertised. The food was ok, but the yogurt was so curdled I thought it was cottage cheese. The next morning we came down for breakfast at 8am. Again, no one was there. This time most of the chairs were on the tables and there was literally no food. Not that it had been eaten, but it hadn't even been put out. There was no coffee creamer and only one plate. We got McDonald's instead. There are no coffee makers in the rooms and half the time the coffee in the lobby is empty. We also tried to buy some candy from the little store area in the lobby. We wanted to pay with a card and the guy wouldn't stop asking if we wanted to charge it to the room. No! We just wanted to purchase the over priced candy with the card we were holding right in front of your face! After several minutes of blank stares we gave up and just told him to charge it to the room. The pool area is freezing cold and gross. There was dirt, hair clumps, and towels at the bottom of the pool. The hot tub had so much chlorine it had a thick layer of foam on the surface and your eyes started to burn as soon as you got close to it. Most of the people here are nice, but we won't be staying here again.

First off this place is under construction. Does not say anything on their website, or any website. We booked through hotels. Com app. We were given the handicap room. The room was spacious for two adults and a newborn. Room 206 was our room. Be careful of the door to the bathroom, it got jammed, and took a minute to get it to work. We did not close that door the rest of the time. Convenient for unloading the vehicle, but no views other than parking lot, shipping containers, and a lot of landscaping being redone. Counter people were professional and friendly. Hopefully this place looks great after the construction.

I stayed here for two nights with my dog. The lower level on the water side has a big, semi-fenced, grassy area and a door to go out the back of the room. That was nice to have at 3am when he needed to go potty. Small patio with two chairs. The upper rooms have a very tiny balcony with no chairs. Pro's: The water side has a beautiful view of the Spokane River and marina. Lots of boats, wave runners, paddle boards, etc. There is a small beach with lots of chairs. The room is clean, spacious and the bed is comfortable. Some of the furnishings could have been a little nicer but they were fine. The lobby has been updated with colorful furniture. It has an indoor pool and exercise room. There is also a bar and restaurant. Lots of people having an evening cocktail. If you are traveling with your dog, there is plenty of grass for them. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms on the other side have an extra door out to the parking lot. Con's: The hotel needs a good coat of paint and some TLC. The hallways are dark and the grassy area at 3am was almost pitch black. Definitely needs more lighting inside and out. For safety concerns if nothing else. The elevator had pieces missing from the wall and only one in the entire building. The restaurant has a limited menu and the prices are high. I only had breakfast and wasn't impressed. Oh, and breakfast is extra. Most hotels include breakfast. It's a large hotel but with a few updates, it could be worth the extra money I spent to stay here.

I dunno. I only stayed here because of a planned event that took place at this hotel. After checking in and finding my room, I checked out Yelp and having reading all of the reviews, I found my experience VERY on par with everyone's reviews. LOOK OUT! IT'S THE RETURN OF THE LIST!!! The good: The room didn't stink. The bed was sleepable. I didn't get killed in my sleep. I wasn't charged more for my room than I originally paid for. The staff was friendly. The bad: The bathroom was small enough that you needed to get in the bathroom and close the door have room to exist. The floor boards between the bed and TV were loose to the point that you could feel them move when you stepped on them. The staff provided absolutely no information upon check in. The construction work (dare I say remodel work???) was more plentiful than expected. Without a specific reason to visit this place, I would never stay on my own accord. Again, all of the subpar reviews here on Yelp seem accurate. You're much better served with other hotels in the overall area if you can fine another room.

Yes this place is under construction and yes it needs to be. This place is dated. I'm happy they are refreshing it. But seriously this place is half the price of other comparable hotels in the area. This means that I got two adjoining rooms and shoved the kids next door...glorious! Rooms were spotless and quiet and updated. We had a great view of the water. Beds are comfy. Check in was easy and folks were kind, well trained and efficient. Only thing I hated was the pillows on the bed...little square pillows-my melon kept rolling off. I'm a pillow snob and usually bring my own but I didn't this time. My bad!!

The hotel has a ton of potential and the rooms are generally clean. The lobby is dirty and furniture needs to be cleaned. It's hard to get staff on the phone. They don't have extra supplies if you forget something.

We checked in today and right off the bat, the front desk was very kind and welcoming! We headed to our room and it was clean and welcoming. The complimentary bath things are very high quality. We then headed out to dinner at the restaurant here and both the bar tender and the waiter were very kind and attentive. Later I had to find something to help my son to swallow a pill and went to the restaurant again with hopes of finding something! The same waiter from earlier in the evening went and searched for something! So grateful for them! The pool is kind of small but my son enjoyed it. I throughly enjoyed the hot tub! Last thing, the view of the river is beautiful! You can sit on the deck while eating dinner! Perfect end to our day!

This is not a premuim hotel on the river it is a budget hotel. Which is fine if they weren't charging a premium price. The buffet may have actually been a health violation the day I was there. I mentioned it to the front desk on my way to McDonald's but she couldn't have cared less. Next time I will just take the cheapest hotel I can find knowing this one isn't worth the premium.

they do accept pets. really the only plus besides the view from the dinning room. they are sitting on a diamond in the rough. there was a used wash cloth hanging on the shower curtain Rod when we arrived. then when we asked for extra towels and a blanket we were told they are available at the front desk if we want to come get them. also there is no room service until after 3 days. you have to request it. the hot tub was great except only half of the jets work. the only complimentary thing is coffee. the cup might be 6 ounces if you are lucky. you can pay 13 bucks a for breakfast. I would not recommend for anyone. I will get a vrbo or airband for what we paid. never again!

I don't even know how this place claims to be a 3 star hotel. It's barley even a 2 star at best. This place was completely empty when I checked it (about 5 cars in the parking lot) and they wouldn't let me stay in a room that looks over the river just because I booked through a 3rd party. I've booked over 12 hotels this year through 3rd parties and never had this be an issue. Their decor, furniture, and the building itself is extremely old and smells awful. There are no elevators anywhere and the floors creek when walked on, so you hear that all night long. I will never stay here again.

It is sad that Templins On The River has fallen this far. The paint is peeling off the exterior walls, my room smelled "musty", stains on the carpet, one of the counters hadn't been cleaned in the room, garbage cans outside overflowing, landscaping terrible and on and on. I paid WAY TO MUCH (nearly $300) for a "Riverview Premier" room that I couldn't even see the River from through the brush and trees. I expected to get what I pay for only to leave feeling I'd been ripped off. Service was marginal which left me feeling like I'm dealing with people who really don't want to be there and just don't care. A couple of days later I was in a hotel in Kennewick, Wa that I paid half as much for that was excellent. Red Lion, your reputation is going down the toilet because you allow this hotel to be in the condition it is in, so sad!

Worst customer service ever and disgusting rooms. Very poorly maintained and after calling for two weeks to complain I got no follow through or follow up from any form of "management". I would never recommend this hotel in such a great town.

This place was not what I expected for almost $700 for two rooms. It is a cheap hotel with very high pricing! One of our rooms had a broken lock on the door to the balcony. So the deadbolt was there but the handle to actually lock it was missing and the door handle had no lock. So we had to position chairs in front of the door for a chance at security during the night. Our other room had some kind of dirt/leafs under the blankets on the sheets. We paid over $300 a night per room and it was so junky. The pillows also had stains on them:( I will never stay here again. Such a rip off!

We stayed at this hotel on the 20th. This has to be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Ignoring how wildly rude the staff is, or their computer system not working upon check in the hotel is unsafe. The electric car charger is missing the sheathing to protect you from a 220v shock. The bath tubs had mold in them. The pool has algae floating on the surface and mold on the swimming pool walls. The walls of the hotel room had holes in them and the room smelled intensely of chemicals attempting to cover up the foul odor of the room itself. Furthermore Madeline, the desk clerk has been wildly rude and difficult to deal with. Upon realizing my child's iPad was left behind she never responded to emails and attempted to be helpful. After purchasing a label it took her another week just to ship it out. Dominic the owner stated he was willing to do nothing to help. Along with this review this hotel is so I kept I have reported all their health code violations to the city of post falls. The best part of this hotel is the moment you check out and put it in your rear view mirror.

First off, I really wish I would of checked out Yelp before checking in the this place. If you could give this place zero stars this place could possibly be the lowest rated hotel on Yelp. The place is old, dirty, staff is incomplete and deceitful. My wife and I booked this place after an 9 hour drive.Confirmed a king bedroom. After lugging our bags to the room we find they put us in a room with 2 full beds. I called the front desk who informed me NO KING BEDROOM WERE AVAILABLE. Which is confusing seeing how that's what we booked. They then told us they upgraded us........... To a room with 2 smaller beds. As a married couple his is less then pleasing. No manager to talk to but they did offer complementary breakfast. The following morning as my wife and I laid in bed and to our surprise housekeeping disregarding or do not disturb sign decided to try and enter our room. Needless to say we packed up and left. We won't be returning to any Red Lion because of this experience and if you're reading this go anywhere BUT this place. Sleep in your car before you go here. After reading all these review we wish we had.

I ended up staying here because I got a really good deal, cheaper than a motel even! Place not to clean, but not too dirty. Staff is ok not very knowledge though. There is a breakfast buffet but it's not included it cost extra. Nice view from the hotel it's right next to a lake. There is free coffee in the lobby which is nice. Pool and jacuzzi is ok, just to much chlorine in the jacuzzi to the point where your crying. I would recommend this place only if you pay 90$ a night or less. If more please look for a different hotel.

Gretchen single handed the entire bar and restaurant. Sure we waited a little longer than we would have liked but her honesty, attentiveness and delightful personality made our dining experience above average. Food was more than we expected, my wife's Mac and cheese was excellent, the addition of the mushrooms added a level of umami I didn't know I was missing in this standard of comfort food. My fish & chips, kid's burger and the other's chicken strips were really good. Enjoy!
