Why Red Lobster Filed for Bankruptcy: It Wasn’t the Endless Shrimp | Eater

"Founded in 1968, this national casual-dining seafood chain filed for Chapter 11 after weeks of closures and asset sales, including auctions of fryers and ovens. While many blamed a 2023 “endless shrimp” promotion — a $19.99 all-you-can-eat shrimp scampi deal that increased foot traffic by 4% but generated an $11 million quarterly loss — the decline runs much deeper: a 2014 sale to private equity led to the divestiture of real-estate and costly leases, subsequent ownership changes saddled the company with debt, aggressive cost-cutting and a lack of innovation, and leadership instability (five CEOs since 2021) left it ill-equipped to compete with rising fast-casual rivals and rising material, labor and interest costs. The combination of long-term financial engineering, underinvestment and operational pressures — rather than a single promotional gimmick — precipitated mass closures and layoffs, eroding the gap between diners’ fond memories (endless shrimp binges and Cheddar Bay biscuits) and the owners’ focus on stemming losses." - Amy McCarthy

Food were delicious. It was a slow Thursday afternoon and the place was empty. Service was not fast. Server did not check if we needed more drinks and we're missing some of our orders. But will still come back

Always wanted to come here growing up, and now that I finally have after seeing all their new redesigns, I can say I’m glad I did. Good food, just a little too pricey

Had the seafood platter at Red Lobster—fresh, flavorful, and filling! Service could’ve been more attentive, but overall a good meal.

I had the pleasure of meeting Francisco, a young man, who I was told is a newer server. Francisco’s customer service skills are genuinely incredible. He is attentive, and asked me about things I needed before I could ask. Good job, Francisco, never change!

I order a dozen biscuits and there’s absolutely absolutely zero butter. I took a bite and it tasted off. I looked closer and there are just so dry. Who wants 12 dry rolls??

I recently visited this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. My friends and I ordered several dishes, including the lobster platter, salmon, and tacos. While the tacos were just okay and not the best I've had, the standout dish for me was the biscuits. They were absolutely fantastic! The restaurant's ambiance was also quite good, and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. It helped create a pleasant dining experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, I had a good experience at the restaurant. While there were some areas for improvement, such as the quality of the tacos, the standout dishes and comfortable ambiance made up for it. I think it's important to try a variety of dishes and read reviews from multiple sources to get a better understanding of a restaurant's quality and reputation. Nonetheless, I would recommend this restaurant to others looking for a good dining experience.

Our service was great today. We were greeted and attended to quite well. Our food was prepared, presented, and tasted great. The manager came by to say hello and check on how our dinner was. We are glad this Red Lobster is still going strong.

The first person to seat us was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice. The bathrooms were clean and kept. Now, the food, for any price, was not so good. My wife had the flounder, which was overcooked, parched, and heavily breaded. My salmon did not taste fresh, but frozen. The salmon was over cooked and over sauced (I suppose to cover the fact that it was not fresh). That's only a guess. The other two dinners ordered at the table were not able to be finished. One was greasy and the other was dry. The Cole slaw did taste very good! Overall, I was disappointed that a restaurant specializing in seafood did not cook the food so well. The service was sub-par. I had to ask three times to get a refill on my iced tea. The waiter said all the fish was fresh, yet I question that assertion. The waiter was distracted and not very helpful. If up to me, I would probably not have tipped him more than a couple dollars (which I know is terrible to say-but I'm being honest) The baked potatoes was good, especially loaded. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend, and I will not be coming back.

Yelp
Came here on Veterans day for their Veterans Appreciation event. I appreciate that Red Lobster offers its appreciation to Active Duty Military and Veterans on Veterans day. It was a rainy day and very cold outside. The inside of the restaurant was like a freezer. My Mother and I sat in our booth shivering despite keeping our coats and sweaters on. We were not in the direct path of the AC vent but walking around it was clear that they had the AC blasting. Since it was lunch on a Monday the restaurant was pretty empty. It was hard to get the attention of the server to ask them for help with the cold. When I finally was able to speak with the someone she said that they cannot keep the restaurant warm because the servers have to walk around and due to the exertion get too hot. We asked them to pack our food to go because there was no way to sit there and eat comfortably. I appreciate that the server gave us 3 biscuits (there were 2 of us so an even number would have been appreciated) to take home. Really the main reason to go to Red Lobster is the biscuits. I probably will not go there unless its warm outside.

Yelp
I kept thinking that it's my first time because I rarely go here. From my recent experience, it was quite pleasant. The food was good. We got a nice waiter who is funny and friendly. I ordered cocktail but it tasted like mocktail. Usually cocktail made me turn red because of my Asian glow. However the cocktail here is more like juice. I probably recommend saving a few dollars and order the mocktail instead.

Yelp
I've always liked Red Lobster, though there aren't many locations left. I came for lunch on a Sunday morning, and the food was solid. I ordered shrimp two ways--coconut and crispy dragon--along with the lobster dip. The reason for my three-star rating is the service. Our server was really nice, but overall, the staff wasn't very attentive. We never received refills on biscuits or drinks, which was disappointing. I noticed our server was also the bartender, so he probably had a lot on his plate. I'm not sure if the issue is due to short staffing or lack of training, but it's something to be aware of. I'd still return, but I'd keep my expectations in check regarding service.

Yelp
We haven't t been to this Resturant for ages since we moved away in 1989.We were greet and decide to got to the bar where the bartender greet us and talk about the happy hour special after we try the lobster flat bread which was delicious. The manager quickly came to make sure if we wanted to be seated early but we said only at the reservation time would be fine. After the drink were seated in a good location.the waitress was friendly and took our order .They made sure we had plenty of there cheesy rolls and the food came out on time .It was very delicious with me ordering the 3 Shrimp dish and my husband ordering the surf and turf.Altogether we had a great experience.Thank you Red

Yelp
So expensive, you would think the food was good. I ordered Parmesan crusted chicken and the chicken was rubbery and leather like. I couldn't eat it and had to send it back. The shrimp and lobster Alfredo was bland, not much lobster and the shrimp was obviously pre frozen. For me, the best part of the meal was their little biscuits. Given the high price, we will not return.

Yelp
The new york strip came well done while I ordered medium rare. I am disappointed. See attached picture of the steak and the receipt, in which I clearly said medium rare.

Yelp
Celebrate two Birthday today. We had a party of nine and service went smooth! There are not much choices in our area when it comes to restaurants so we like going to Red Lobster as what we order is always consistent. Birthday celebrant always gets his two lobster dinner dish and other celebrant got the mix seafood linguine which is new to the menu. Son got the sesame salmon bowl and I too got the mix seafood linguine. All of the dishes came out perfectly cook. I'm glad that they settled the bankruptcy and this location won't be closing.

Yelp
I haven't been to Red Lobster in years, but I came back to try the $20 endless shrimp. The staff was friendly, but it took so long for us to get our food. I understand it's a lot of food to make, but it seems like they really are trying to make you full before the actual shrimp dishes come. The biscuits were delicious as expected, and their Caesar salad was very enjoyable. I wasn't a fan of the coconut shrimp and the sweet sauce surprisedly. For the shrimp linguini Alfredo, it only had 2 shrimps and barely any sauce. I enjoyed their crispy dragon shrimp, their garlic shrimp scampi and their Walt's favorite shrimp. Their skewers were nothing special and their mashed potatoes were pretty sad. Food was overall mid but I probably won't be doing the special again.

Yelp
Came here 4/14/2024 for dinner around 6:15pm The interior was pleasant but very dark. We did not have to wait and was seated immediately. It took a while for our waitress to come back to us to take our orders, but it took a while for me to look and decide since everything looked so good. Over the course, our waitress often came by to check up on us and was overall very nice. She took my friend's jokes nicely. The complementary garlic and cheesy biscuits were delicious. Our waitress gave us extra upon hearing that we liked them. A must-have at the beginning of the meal. I ate three of those. I got the lobster lover's duo ($45). The marine tail was nice and soft while the Caribbean rock tail tasted like a lobster that had been barbecued, harder and rougher. Both tails were quite large. I chose the mashed potato and broccoli, a classic. The potato was creamy and the broccoli wasn't too soggy. The strawberry lemonade ($5) It was refreshing and nice. I drank two cups of these, refillable. I go for strawberry lemonade anytime. My friend tried the watermelon lemonade and he liked it, just as good as the strawberry. Overall, the dining experience was pleasant. We loved the complementary bread, and the lobster dish was filling and tasty. Would definitely come back to try the shrimp dishes next time.

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday night for a party of 6 with no reservations. The wait was around 5 min. The service from the manager throughout the night was excellent & food came out in a timely manner. My favorites of the night were definitely the biscuits, lobster dip & crab queso. Would not recommend the clam chowder as they were pretty watery & lacked a lot of flavor. They have a lot of parking so it's not an issue.

Yelp
I do recommend this place to all. I came here to get some dinner with my husband and stepdaughter. I do like the service and the place was clean and fresh. Our food was on time and really good.

Yelp
Just like every other Red Lobster I've been to around the Bay Area, I will always love their complimentary bread :). The calamari was okay. It could be better. Got the Lobster Lover's Duo and it was above average for me. It definitely filled me up.

Yelp
I'm going to be HONEST. I came here for the endless shrimp because it sounded TOO good to be true. The reality: 1. First round you can choose 3 kinds of shrimp and side 2. Every round, one choice at a time (no side) Keep in mind it takes them a good MIN to bring out 1 plate. So most of the time is spent waiting and testing your patience until you give up Anyways, I defintely recommend y'all stop by when you're in the area!

Yelp
This is mine and my loves favorite spot it's a really good meal if you just want to relax the ambience is so peaceful and romantic I love the fast service, the ultimate endless shrimp was so good I ate so much!!!! The new shrimp options are unique and craveable they leave your mouth asking for more please good thing is that it's endless The pina colada was amazing refreshing and so tasty I never finish my adult drinks but this one was gone in seconds The best part was we had so much left over we were able to take them home late night snack or lunch tomorrow

Yelp
Been coming to this Red Lobster for nearly 20 years (minus during the pandemic and few other times we couldn't make it) for my father-in-laws birthday every year. Red Lobster is his favorite restaurant and he loves coming here for his birthday dinner. This year my wife called in and talked to a manager to book the reservation for 6pm for 15 people since you can't book large groups online. We got here at about 5:30pm and the place was dead but were told we would have to wait, sure no problem. After waiting an hour to be seated and seeing many other groups walk right in (4-10 people in each of the other parties) my wife walked up to the hosted stand to ask for status. She was told we would have to wait as we were a large walkin group. We had a reservation and my wife it on the hostess screen but they had marked us as a No Show. Then the manager came to front and started arguing with my wife and her father. She was very rude to my wife and proceeded to we were going to half to wait and may not get seated tonight. Wait! What???? We have to wait longer and may not get seated. So the family decided we would go somewhere else. After the family walked out the door I went up and asked for the birthday cake that we brought which was in the freezer. Having not been in the argument I figured it was best for to ask for it. The manager asked the hostess where the birthday cake was and she said the refrigerator in back, the two of them walked around the corner and talked for a few second and then proceeded to go in the back. When the hostess came back she handed me the box which was smashed in the front and opened. (Pictures attached) I was shocked and speechless for a minute then I looked and asked what happened to the cake cause it was not smashed or opened when I gave it to you. She threw up hands and said I don't know. Not only was the hostess staff and manager rude and shady trying to hide our reservation but they were that petty to smash the box into the birthday cake. As a longtime customer and rewards member I am completely shocked about how we were treated. A bad review probably doesn't matter to them but I hope it helps somebody else to not have to deal with this staff.

Yelp
We ordered "take home" foods. Came up to our expectations. Unfortunately the person who answered the phone miscalculated the wait up time of 15 min. Went to picked it up as scheduled but have to wait for another 30 min. at least.

Yelp
I haven't been to a red lobster since I was a kid. I actually didn't even know this particular adopter was still open until my son googled it. Lol is to say wow it was graduation night it was the last night my son, Cousin, uncle father, and I could all go out to eat before summer camp begin. Since we had a larger party, the young host would not seat us until everybody was physically there. My sons, two cousins got bored weeding, and decided to sit in the car. The young host would not seat us, although they were physically just in the car. When we finally were seated, there was not a booth to fit all six of us. Lol so we sat at two different booths next to each other. Not exactly the way I wanted to spend a dinner with my son, especially since him and his cousins decided they wanted their own booth since we couldn't all sit together. The food was fine, a bit buttery or oily, but the lobster was not overcooked or undercooked and everything tasted fair just perhaps too much butter or a lack of other herb flavors? As for ambience, it was rather dark inside, but I remember that being the same when I was a kid also. I don't think I will ever attend another red lobster again, although I do love their biscuits and seafood, but the service just wasn't adequate and their seating arrangements were not up to a family standard for me. Since I like my family. Lol .

Yelp
Can't go wrong with Red Lobster. Place pretty big and nice. Parking is excellent. If you never try Red. lobster you should.

Mike T.

Yelp
Lunch, No value. High prices for 3 out of 4 items on plate were not worth the time or money. Over cooked or tasteless. Ambiance the same as 1990. Service ok. Not many people there. I suggest anywhere else. Even the food court at the mall. I'm sad.

Yelp
It's been yeaaars since I've been to Red Lobster but curiosity got the best of us and we decided to go for the $20 endless shrimp. It is apparently an all day every day deal now. We went on a Saturday around 2:30pm and there was no wait. The two of us both ordered the endless shrimp. The first round comes with 2 shrimp options (there are only 5 options total) and a side of your choice (baked potato, mashed potatoes, broccoli, rice, fries). Every round after the first is just one shrimp option and it seems they give a bit less than the servings in the first round. All the shrimp options were pretty decent, except the coconut shrimp - Coconut shrimp was waaay too sweet and too much coconut for me. It was hot and crunchy but I didn't enjoy the taste, nor did I like the pina colada sauce it came with. - Walt's Favorite Shrimp is the better fried option. - Shrimp scampi was super buttery but I enjoyed it the most and with a few squeezes of lemon - Grilled shrimp skewers come on top of a bed of rice/orzo mix - Shrimp alfredo was basic and average I think we only went through 3 rounds each (4 dishes of shrimp each) although we ended up taking the last round to go. We were full and felt sooo tired. I don't know if it was the butter or the salt but our bodies felt so heavy and we ended up napping for a couple hours right after. Food was average and on the saltier side although the biscuits they serve are so warm and soft and nice. Service is also nice. Parking is easy and there should be more than enough spots. It was interesting to try the endless shrimp but most likely won't do it again.

Yelp
I completely forget about Red Lobster sometimes, but when I do remember, it's always so good. I went with a few coworkers for a nice lunch a few weeks back. I got the seafood pasta and BOY was it filled with seafood! It was pretty yummy. The sauce was just okay though. Also.. My coworker got the lobsterrita (the lobsterfest margarita) which came with this fancy little lobster necklace which is hilarious.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went Friday night 11/8/24 and were honestly very impressed. The food was good, the ambiance is very nice, a very pleasant evening and meal. We split the ultimate feast where we got a lobster tail, 2 snow crab clusters, shrimp scampi dish, shrimp Alfredo, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and unlimited biscuits. How much do you think was for this Bay Area locals? 100? 80? Nope - $48 a TREMENDOUS deal. Server was attentive and kind. We will be coming back to enjoy their food, great deals, and vibes. This legend needs to carry on, Long live red lobster.

Yelp
the shrimp were REALLY delicious! every shrimp was a good size and tasted great. i recommend it! the pasta was cooked good. i took a star away for the HORRIBLE lobster flatbread! i've seen so many mukbangs tiktok's of people getting the flatbread and they be making it look so bomb. MAYBE it was just mine but it tasted HELLA and i mean HELLA fishy! the lobster smelt and tasted fishy! i could not eat it lol i fed it to the stray cats outside LOL they came running quick probably cuz the fishy smell was so strong lol i really want to try the other menu items but i will NEVER order the lobster flatbread again. i wouldn't even eat it if they gave it to me for free lol it's that bad for me

Yelp
Would not recommend! Took us about 20 minutes to be seated. 40 minutes to get our orders taken. 1 hr and 40 min for our food to arrive. Don't come in here! We thought coming here during weekday is a good idea since not much people turns out they were short staffed! This place declined a lot! The interior looks old, carpet is dirty.

Yelp
The crab was delectable. I learned of Darth Schlobsterhead who creates the power of Red Lobster. The singing for my buddy Jeff's b-day was something to behold. They gave us biscuits to take home. We will now be calling our ultimate goals in life Red Lobsters and not White Whales. They brought us a pitcher for water which looked like a Captain's hat and they had the correct half of the boat on the wall. Sarah was amazing.

Suhil K.

Yelp
I don't recommend. We ordered two plates of their special steak and lobster. It comes with backed potato and broccoli. They brought us one plate that didn't have the lobster or the broccoli. We told the server of what we ordered and what we got, she apologized. She brought us the lobster and the veggies. They steak was dry and tougher than dried cowhide. We didn't want to wait any longer and we both shared the one plate and didn't eat the steak.

Yelp
The Almaden location in San Jose's temporarily closed with street construction, so I came here to enter a cheddar bay biscuit coma and wasn't disappointed. The service was good, the server noted they posted deals on Instagram and it was $5 margarita day. The margarita was as big as your head in a massive glass. Since it was Monday, I had ultimate endless shrimp. I polished off 4 plates of shrimp and 4 orders of the crack-infused biscuits. Walt wasn't kidding about his "favorite" shrimp and the jumbo coconut shrimp are a tropical paradise of enjoyment. Who was Walt, was it Disney? Nobody seems to know but he correctly favored this breaded shrimp. One can purchase the RL biscuit mix at the grocer and bake at home, but they just aren't the same as the restaurant...where they're served as hot as a nuclear reactor in a basket on your table. After two of the massive two-handed margaritas, one can summon the courage for more biscuits and shrimp. You then stop caring who Walt was and focus on the endgame of rolling yourself to the car and the long jaunt home down Capital Expressway. It's neat they have the lobster tank in the waiting area, but it means you can't enjoy watching the crustaceans in the tank from a favorite table or the bar. Red Lobster should just make the entire bar into a transparent tank in some location. The rubber bands erode any advantage lobsters hold over a weary patron, but nonetheless they'd still need to be safe from that village idiot who'd try and grab a live lobster after putting a lit candle out on the bar with a hand placed over the top. Here's the takeaways: 1. Nobody knows how long the Almaden Expressway location will be temporarily closed, or when the street construction will end. 2. Monday is the day to visit, with endless shrimp and drink specials. 3. The service here was good, ample parking but a longer jaunt for many. 4. The beer on-tap is awful, Blue Moon's the only acceptable choice and it's not very good itself. They need to update and upgrade their draft beer with decent local craft brew. The bottled stock was utterly unimpressive as well. Red Lobster's beer offerings are terrible generally and consist of domestic rubbish.

Yelp
I've been to this location a bunch of times since my childhood and it's always delicious! My friend and I were seated after a short wait of ~10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. The ambiance is a nice dimly lit restaurant that has cozy fishing trip vibes. The complimentary cheddar bay biscuits were amazing as always. Love eating them while they're hot! Those can get you full fast but it's so hard to resist eating them. I got the shrimp your way (chose 2) and went with the new crispy dragon shrimp, popcorn shrimp, and a side of mashed potatoes. I loved my entire entree! The crispy dragon shrimp tasted like something they'd have at Panda Express. My friend also got the shrimp your way and chose 2, and she went with the popcorn shrimp and shrimp linguine Alfredo. The Alfredo was super yummy as well! For dessert, we shared the brownie overboard. 3 brownie pieces in there were plenty, especially after our full meals. The warm brownies went beautifully with the vanilla ice cream! Food came out reasonably quickly and our server was very attentive. Definitely will continue eating at Red Lobster!

Yelp
It smelled like rotten fish as soon as we walked into Red Lobster in San Jose, California on 9/12/2024 around 1pm Nobody greeted us we waited 20 minutes before they seated us & the place was empty. The table was dirty. The Lobster tasted like it was rotten. It seemed like no one wanted to help us. We didn't receive a copy of the receipt. We still left a tip. This location has Bad service & low quality food. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

La Donna W.

Yelp
The food was very disappointing! Dry over cooked scallops and shrimps...yuck! The Brussel sprouts were bitter charred dry and unseasoned. The only enjoyable food item was the biscuits. I see why so many of these restaurants were closed.... I don't recommend that anyone eat there!

Jose P.

Yelp
We showed up this afternoon and there was hardly no customers and almost every table was available. We were told to wait just a few minutes but after waiting over 15 minutes and seeing new customers come in and no host attending them we ended up leaving and dining somewhere else.

Jacqueline N.

Yelp
Service is terrible. Waited at the front for a long time for a non existent host to help me. Restaurant is super dead but the service is still very slow. I watched a elderly couple place their order with the bartender because they complained that they have been waiting for a server for 30mins and nobody came to check on them. Servers would see me but not acknowledge me. They don't greet you like hello or welcome in. I had to chase down a waiter to ask for my pick up order. Don't dine in here. I'm glad they're going bankrupt and closing down locations.

Yelp
What happened!? The food quality has definitely declined! Below is a summary of what we ordered. - Biscuits: so disappointing. They didn't seem cooked all the way and tasted stale or a bad recipe. We asked for another basket hoping it was a bad batch but they all tasted bad - Side house salad: it was gross. It tasted like it was pre-made a week ago and was just sitting in the refrigerator - Pearl Harbor: was good - Cajun chicken pasta: this was actually the best tasting. Kudos to the chef for the pasta Service was decent and was fortunate to hear a beautiful serenade from one of the staff. I hope they improve the quality of the food overall. -

Yelp
To be quite honest with you, I've never been a fan of Food chain restaurants. I just think the dishes are mostly generic and the flavor just isn't there as much. However, my husband, father-in-law and I recently dined here and I have to say how impressed I was. Henry was our server and he did a fantastic job at tending to our every need. The ambiance was also nice considering it was an early Friday. I think my favorite part was the Shrimp Carbonara my husband ordered. It was so creamy and flavorful. The Brussel sprouts are also a nice addition to any steak you order. Next time you go to Red Lobster, make sure you order a watermelon Margarita, trust me on this!

Yelp
This spot has been my childhood spot but I feel like the quality of the food has gone down. I'm comparing this to other seafood spots now in the bay area alone there's so many! My last time here the food was okay but the biscuits are always on point!

Landon S.

Yelp
MANAGEMENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE. Needs improvement. In the food and beverage business having been in the FB industry for over 5yrs, if a customer tells you that he or she was not satisfied your response should be "sorry, how can we make it right?" Your in the service business make it an experience that they'll want to come back.

Yelp
We just came here for a half dozen cheddar bay biscuits, cuz they are that addicting. This location is no different from the others in terms of quality and flavor... which is a good thing, so we always know what we're getting. The hours were different on Christmas Day, they were open from 1-8pm. So we came a few minutes before 1:00pm, and were first in line at the Take-Out counter. The other counter (for dine-in parties) was being served for about 10 minutes, before they got someone to start helping on the Take-Out side. I get it, they just opened for the day and were swamped with orders, being one of the few restaurants open during the holiday (I still think they could have prepared for that better). Our biscuits were ready in minutes, served hot, fresh, and delicious! :)

Yelp
We had a wonderful celebration here last week. Gloria was a beautiful and lovely server. The food was soooo good. Highly recommend the lobster baked potato. We got garlic crab legs, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, Brussels sprouts etc. Everything was excellent.

Yelp
Reviewing a chain isn't what I typically do, but going to anyway. I'm a grown man and had never been to a Red Lobster. I'm not the biggest seafood fan so that is a big part of it. And take that into account when reading my review. Quick summary, the food was really good and the service was exceptional thanks to our server Nilay. Longer version, the restaurant itself feels probably unsurprisingly like it's from a different era. I'm super happy with the Seaside Shrimp trio I got. It had fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, and shrimp linguini. Any of these would probably only be ok as a main dish, but the variety made it great The scampi was delicious with the butter garlic but possibly too rich for a whole meal. While the linguini was creamy but maybe not enough flavor. I poured some of that garlic butter on and it helped. Again having 3 different shrimp treatments was the way to go. My gf got the crab legs and enjoyed them thoroughly. Sides were good too. I recommend the bacon mac and cheese. Oh and the cheese bread lives up to the hype! The cocktails were ok. Very much in line with what to expect from chains like Chili's, Applebee's, etc. Finally the price is on the higher end as expected. I had a great meal and great time. Being that seafood isn't my usual go to, I'd come back but not go out of my way for personally.

Yelp
This review is not for the food because I got up and left and went to another restaurant to eat. I ordered the ultimate endless shrimp with a side of rice. Around 15 minutes later, the waitress told me that they do not have rice and that it would take about 45 minutes for the rice. I come here about once a month for lunch right when they open at 11am. I always get a side of rice and it's always available right away. I'm not sure what happened here. Not acceptable :(

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant many times, and the great service and delicious food are very consistent. I have no idea how some people gave this restaurant only three stars while their written reviews praised the restaurant. I don't think you can get such quality food for a low price anywhere else. I have been to sizzlers, and the quality of food was horrible. I love the ambience here as well. It always makes me feel cozy whenever I come there with my family. And I'm sad to know that they are considering bankruptcy. I really hope that this restaurant will survive.

Yelp
I have been going to this Red Lobster location ever since we moved to the Evergreen area over 20+ years ago and this place always ends up hitting the spot. I went back with a friend recently and as usual the biscuits were bomb. These are a red lobster staple, and even though they are smaller than I remember they were still yummy. We ended up ordering: * crab stuffed mushrooms - these are delicious and come with 6 pieces, the mushroom was juicy and the filling was yummy * Lobster Topped Stuffed Founder - this was delicious, this came with a creamy sauce and the seafood stuffing and I got it with 2 sides - mashed potatoes and rice *Lobster Linguini - my friend ordered this dish and loved it - the lobster was plentiful and the sauce was creamy. Overall very delicious Overall the food was good and I would go back!

Yelp
Although we were seated right away. The wait staff was very rude short with her conversation not helpful at all. When our food came I asked her our bill boxes and silverware then we just sat there waiting after she brought everything but the silverware. She kept walking by no eye contact pretty rude. When people go out to eat its for a special occasion or they don't want to cook... ours was for both. She waited so long to bring the silverware she made us late. Then i had to get up and ask for my own silverware. Also it was so dark I couldn't even see my menu when I got there and I don't need glasses or anything. And I never take the time to post reviews its a pain. Red lobster is a favorite and this should not be the norm. Also after leaving I realized my bill was much higher than it should have been.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday party (party of 10). Two of us ordered the all you can shrimp, took 40+ mins after served to get my sides, we wanted more shrimp but no one ever came by the table. My girl order the full lobster, no pick or small fork to get the meat out. Only after we asked for the check, someone asked for just a few coconut shrimp we never got, the waitress obliged us. I don't blame the waitress, this place has enough bad reviews it's clear it's management. Like they say, the fish rots from the head down. The only great thing was the employee that sang Happy Birthday! I believe his name was Jesus, The best baritone Happy Birthday singer ever!

Yelp
Came here for the ultimate endless shrimp promotion. The price went to $27/person but still a really good deal for endless shrimp dishes. You get pick 3 dishes to start plus a side and can continue to order 3 more as you go. The crispy dragon shrimp, Tequila lime shrimp, shrimp linguini pasta and the garlic shrimp scampi was good. Our least favorite was the coconut shrimp. Our server was busy so we didn't see her much. Other than that, food was ok, good deal.

Yelp
This will be my last time going to this place "sadly" cause it use to be a great establishment, from the friendly greeter, getting seated, the bussers then waiter(s) since covid (BOOO) I'd have to say a lot of establishments have lost their business & that lead to when things went back to "normal" they are now & forever stuck with the covid mentality & that how this business is being runned. Lots of parking so that's not an issue, some of the food does rates great, the way they look also looks tasty but, service is No Bueno, took a whole 5ever to get to our table of 2 to take our order. Got my fettuccine and HAIR (uhhhh) that's the deal breaker for me peridot!!! not that that's not already an issue BUT I politely asked to waiter remove it from my bill cause I wasn't going to eat it anyways, not even 5mins later, sorry about it OK but, the mgr suggested & had a whole new plate made, thinking uh yeah cool, it's not on my bill but, I'll take it home, NOPE! it was still on my bill & I said I don't want this anyways, he says ok but, you'll have to leave the fettuccine, uh yeah gladly never going to this place again, sorry

Yelp
- good service - good price - good food Unlimited shrimp is a must. They have good prices for food and the service was real fast. I loved the biscuits. The fries were okay but the battered shrimp and Alfredo shrimp pasta was great. Good job red lobster!

Yelp
We decided to come have dinner here for Easter and before baby arrives. We haven't been to Red lobster in a while. We were hesitant because of the 3 stars + bad reviews. But let me tell you we weren't disappointed! Everything was delicious. We started off with complementary cheese biscuits ( which they refilled) We ordered the pasta lobster Linguine, a la cart Sirloin well done & Rainbow trout with a side of caramelized brussels sprout & lobster baked potato. Everything was on point. Our waiter was also great and very attentive. Definitely recommend this Red lobster location.
