Red or White Wine Mobile

The Red or White Mobile is a good and reasonable wine store, but they are a lot more. There is also a very cool wine bar and a restaurant. The service is excellent, very friendly and attentive. The decor is nice and the food is great as well. The portions are also pretty large so watch how much you order. A really nice spot for dinner.

My wife and I enjoy going here on a Saturday afternoon, There is a wine tasting menu available for a very reasonable price. We have also had their pizza, handmade and cooked in an open fired oven. I have not eaten off the menu, but from the pizza and cheese plates that I have had, there is a reason the chef has been nominated for a James Beard Award. Very good food, wine and service.

Great visit the first time around! Awesome customer service and a great selection of wine and other accessories to choose from. Wine served by the glass or bottle (does include cork fee). Pizza was delicious and will return to try another one. Dates wrapped in bacon, stuffed with blueberry goat cheese, topped with valencia almonds was a treat.

We stopped in just to look around and check it out. The smell of pizza and the look of the pizza oven made us stay to get one. I had a beer and my wife had a glass of wine. Everything was excellent. The staff was friendly to us and asked if we needed anything or were looking for anything in particular as soon as we came in. Once we sat at the bar the service was friendly and quick. The pizza was delicious, I'm sorry that I didn't get a picture of it to share. We heard them talking about and setting up for a wine tasting, but we didn't have time to stay for too long. I'd gladly come back here and next time I'll look beforehand to see if they have any tastings or events. Nice space and friendly people.

Atmosphere was great. Wonderful service. Wood fire pizza was good. Margarita pizza was a little soggy but flavor was excellent! Pate was wonderful!

Cute cozy spot to get dinner with friends! As other reviewers have mentioned – it does get a tad loud. Maybe because it's so popular or perhaps because of wine barrels lol! Their rotating seasonal items are a must try. The pizza is always great – their current seasonal pizza is hands down the best I've had so far! The good food is well complimented by attentive service. My friend was having some difficulty due to a leg injury and they were very accommodating, which I really appreciated. Because it's so good, there's always been a wait time of at least 30 minutes whenever I have visited, so be prepared for that. The wait may not feel very long if you can spend that time browsing through their huge wine collection.

Red or White is an excellent experience in Mobile. It’s a unique layout, interesting menu and wine choices. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are wanting great food, apps, and environment. It can be a little loud depending where you sit. I suggest the bacon wrapped dates, Red or White Pizza or Formaggi (if you like truffle) as a must try.

This place has great energy. From the minute you walk in, until you leave, a great first class experience. We were greeted and seated right away by a very pleasant and friendly hostess. There is plenty of parking in a lot behind the restaurant. Our waitress Jesse was awesome from start to finish. The chef here, was nominated two times for the James beard award. We started with the special baked oysters that were awesome and a very nice presentation. Next we had the bacon wrapped dates that had blueberries and goat cheese, wow, very tasty and so much flavor. Last, we had the red or white pizza. They have a brick oven and it was a great tasting pizza, great crispy bottom and crust. The food and service warrant 5 stars. They also have a wine store in the restaurant where you can buy wine at reasonable price and pay a 10 dollar corking fee to drink it with dinner. This place will be on our regular rotation and we look forward to returning.

Best Wine concept pizza restaurant I've ever been into to. Pizza was outstanding and the Brisket was even better!!! Get in there early.. only bad thing... VERY LOUD in the restaurant!!! They need to invest in sound absorption!! Then it's 5 Star!!!

Lovely wine shop and restaurant in Mobile. Really unique concept, with amazing food options. You can try different wines during your meal, and then peruse the wine aisles after for some bottles to take home. We had a cozy meal on a rainy day. They gave their own brick pizza oven and make pizzas there on the spot. We had the specials, including a creamy broccoli soup and some lovely chicken wings. Met the owner after our meal and spent time chatting about their thorough and interesting wine collection. Will definitely pop in again if I'm ever back in Mobile! Highly recommended.

Fantastic first visit! This is a cool little venue just outside of walking distance from the center of downtown. They have a vast selection of wine from which to choose, any of which you can have at your table with a $5 cork fee. The food was also awesome. We started with a small charcuterie board and for me, the star of the board was their fresh, homemade bread - delicious! We also had a pizza and it was quite good as well. Service was on point. Place was a little loud the evening we were there mainly because there were a couple of groups there, which always translates to noise. I'm sure there are times that it is more of a chill setting. Looking forward to a return visit!

One of my favorite wine bars to visit. Pizza is better than every chain spot in town and I love the wine selection. Make sure you order the brisket and oysters also

Every bit of our food was phenomenal and we ended up having two bottles of the wine! Our server was so sweet and patient with us since we had never been before and couldn't make up our minds. The vibe was amazing, there was a lot of noise because it was busy on a Friday night but it wasn't so bad. It's a unique and intimate setting. We will be going back once a month now!

Came with friends for a Friday dinner! I wish we had known about it sooner- everything we had was absolutely amazing! There is a wine shop in the front, which you can shop to take home or take to the restaurant and drink with a corkage fee of only $10! We got a delicious Cab Sav that we shared over dinner, and enjoyed the stuffed artichokes and straciatella cheese dish, which also had delicious roasted local veggies, and then the Red or White Pizza, which was light with a crispy crust! Both were so delicious, and we did not have any leftovers! The indoor seating is rather loud if they are busy, but there is also a patio outside. Staff was helpful and patient as we caught up before ordering! We will be back to try more!!

We are new to the neighborhood and decided to check this place out. It's walking distance from our house. We have heard nothing but great things about this place. And I got to say it holds up to its reputation!! My fiance is always complaining he can never find a good pizza it's either too bready or not, Crunchie or something! But the pizza here! we both agree it's the best! It's a little small for $18, but it was filling! No leftovers! We ate it all!! Our service was great and everyone. There seem to be having a wonderful time due to the high ceilings. It is kind of hard to hear your party if there is another large party in the room. Overall ten out of ten definitely recommend definitely going back!!

Although I had to wait 45 minutes for a seat on a busy Friday night, there were so many wines to look at while we waited. You can see the staff make the pizza and put them in and out of the oven. The exposed brick and dim lighting made me feel like I was in an upscaled wine cellar. I had the best moscato I have ever had and my pizza was to die for.

Food was great, very many selections. We had the oysters, bacon wrapped dates and the red or white pizza. Service was friendly. I wish there was more of an accommodating waiting area and air circulation.

What a shame. Our group of 8-12 have been going her for minimum 5 years and now won't be back...in group or separately. Manager refused to separate our checks as they ALWAYS have, and refused to help us at all. Bad customer service is an understatement...he was rude and physically ran away and hid following my 2nd attempt to ask for help. My COLD, awful pizza and $20 bottle of wine was over $60...we think. I don't know if this is a product of new management or ownership....or just bad hiring & training. 12 disgusted locals.

My fiancé and I came to the Mobile location today. We've frequently visited the Fairhope location and wanted to try its other location. I understand staff may be low at this time but to have no chairs at our table outside was disappointing. Aftet waiting for our chairs, we asked the server for wine selections. He told us to "go pick one out"... no recommendactions, no nothing. Okay, so we pick out the wine only to have it setting on our table while we wait for him TO TAKE IT TO THE BACK TO OPEN. Finally our charcuterie board comes out AS A BOWL!. even though the Manager explained it was labeled a plate on the menu... it's Charcuterie! Charcuterie should always be on a board ,hense the name.Who wants a bowl of cured meats and cheeses? This restaurant has a lot of polishing up before it meets the quality of Fairhope location. BRING A PLATE AT LEAST, NOT A BOWL.

The bruschetta board is unmatched! I get it every time I come. Always good food and service.

Red or White is a locals staple in Mobile. It has delicious food and excellent wine, which you can shop in the wine store and open at the table. Excellent all around - arrive early because it is usually crowded!

Went on a Thursday night with a party of 8. I understand this is a bigger party, but when we put our name in we were told we would be sat in 10-25 minutes. We then all bought some wine and waited. About 30 minutes went by and we checked again on wait time, they again said the table isn't ready. Another 15 minutes went by and we asked again, still nothing available. We offered to split our table into two parties of 4, but they persisted that the table would be ready any minute. Finally, after a total on 75 minutes of waiting when we were originally told 25 minutes tops, we told the hostess we were leaving. We all began to pay for our bottles of wine that we had some glasses of. The bottle my girlfriend and I grabbed was an $11.00 bottle and it was a screw top, no cork. The host then told us the total was $23, $11 for the bottle, $10 for a CORKING FEE, and tax. I asked why there was a corking fee if there's no cork, and why they didn't tell us there would be a corking fee before she opened the bottle. If that were the case, I would not have had any of the wine while we waited for our table, why would I knowingly want to pay double the posted price of the bottle just to have a glass? Additionally, when she put our open bottle in a bag to leave with, she didn't fully screw the cap on and wine ended up leaking in the bag in our car. Needless to say our entire party of 8 was pissed off. 3 of the visitors were out of state for a work event and began leaving before the rest of our party left, and 2 of the people in our party consider themselves nearly regulars and love the place, but this experience made us all extremely disappointed.

My husband and I frequent this place often. It is a very nice place to relax and have a glass of wine. However, they have no air conditioning only fans to keep cool. I have talked with the person that owns the building, Taylor Atchison, and he said it stays hot because of the pizza oven. He also said they were working on the problem. This problem is at least 1 year old because I have been going there that long! Has he actually been working on the problem for a year?? After voicing my concerns regarding the heat and the conditions the waitresses work under he eventually said thank you for your concern and hung up!!! He kept trying to pass the problem on to the business owners which he would not give me names of. But something needs to be done.

Everything was delicious as always. The wine prices were really reasonable and the server made really recommendations on food to go with the wines as well. It's a great hangout spot!

Stopped in for Friday night date night for drinks. They have a rotating selection of wines by the glass or you can walk into the shop and grab a bottle of wine or beer there. We ordered an antipasto tray to snack on- a couple of cheeses and meats, with some baguette, nuts and jam. We had a nice time talking and snacking and drinking,the crowd was lively and the service was good. Good place for wines and nice date night.

Be Aware! This establishment charges $10 'corking fee' for wine purchased in their wine shop (even screw top wine). They also charge for wine by the taste posted where glass price is normally listed ($7) and by the glass where bottle prices are normally listed. ($12-$15).

Ok second try.. we live a few blocks away. Pizza was black burnt .. on heck out lady was..like who cares!! RESTROOM WAS OUT OF ORDER .. not working and no paper towels! I told her I would not Yelp but decided to!! As a Perdido Key native.. give you till end of 2023 summer.. lol

Finding Red or White made the trip to Mobile entirely worthwhile (and this came on top of a trip that was already a ton of fun). In fact, I'd daresay that we've found the best restaurant in Mobile. We started with the grilled oysters, which were sumptuous, perfectly seasoned and crafted with love. Then we went to the charcuterie platter, which we're still talking about. Whoever selected these delicacies knows their food, because we're still talking about how it was the best charcuterie platter we've ever had in our lives. And while we could have stopped there and left entirely sated, we finished with the chef's special pizza, which involved some incredible combination of ham, cheese and a homemade tomato sauce on a pizza crust that brought us a little closer to heaven. We didn't eat dessert because we were a little too engorged by this point, but the next time we're back we'll be leaving space to try some sweets. The service we received was excellent, my wife was delighted with the glass of red that they recommended, and we'd go back in a heartbeat. This place really puts Mobile dining on the map!

One of my favorite places in midtown. This place is truly a charm! They have a huge wine selection, just about anything to satisfy any pallet. The Saturday flights are my fav! For $15 you sample 4 types of wine and it comes with a small snack plate. The staff is very friendly, warm and welcoming. A great place to spend a Saturday evening, or an evening after work. If you go...try the bacon wrapped dates and one of the brick oven pizzas!

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Every time we go home to Mobile we have to come here! The pizza is so fresh and real - it's like you're in Italy! The bacon wrapped dates are 10/10 delicious and the salad was super fresh too. Love being able to pick out our wine & the wine selection and prices are outstanding. Just love this place!

First time here!! This is place is phenomenal. Brandy was our server and did a fantastic job. We had the rosemarino and the midtown pizza along with a couple bottles of wine. Pizza flavors were on point. You can taste the quality. Huge selection of wine. Every staff member was knowledgeable and friendly. Really great experience. Truly look forward to the next visit.

Love this spot! Not a place I would usually check out because I'm not a huge wine drinker, but I decided to go for the UYE for a girls night. So happy I did! First the atmosphere is very nice. Intimate but relaxed and casual at the same time. Perfect for girls night, a date night, a nice snack/treat, take your mom or sister for lunch.... endless reasons why you could frequent this cool place ;) Even on Saturday night at 7PM our girls had no trouble getting a table with prompt service. I can't review the wine selection because I was unable to partake this time. For me it was a coke type of night and my server was happy to serve it in a wine glass so I wouldn't feel out of place :) Now the good part....the food! So delicious! We had two cheese boards, both with a variety of meats, cheese, breads, candied nuts, warm olives (delightfully delicious!), and an Italian while bean dish. It was all scrumptious but what really won over my taste buds was the Cherve (goat cheese) that is made in Alabama. That slathered on fresh bread, with the homemade preserves on top....DYNAMITE ! I ate so much of that and could've kept going. Not going to lie, when our server came to clear our table I asked her if I could lick the cheese knife first. No shame! I didn't want that delectable Cherve and preserves to go to waste! Not only is this a cute tapas bar, but the other side is a nice variety of wines that you can purchase. I forgot to take a pic. I'll definitely be back to this place and look forward to more girls nights here! If you stop in you HAVE to try the Cherve !

We frequent Red or White for wine purchases, but about one a month we get a specialty pizza. This week it was Conecuh sausage and peaches. Outstanding. So good we had it a second time. Aaand the beef brisket board was terrific. We are never ever disappointed.

Nope! Not happening, at least for a long, long time. It doesn't matter how much I love the place, terrible and unapologetic customer service is absolutely inexcusable. A few of my coworkers and I go after work on occasion, and I've also gone with other friends, organized a girls' night out for my former part-time job, taken my hubby several times, and we even took my son one night and enjoyed a pizza. We've never had service issues to speak of. To celebrate another paralegal at my office's birthday, we decided to order a cheese board and an antipasto board. The receptionist told us they were extremely rude when she called to place the order. She picked up the order with no problem and we all enjoyed it immensely. We assumed the rudeness was a rare occurrence or misunderstanding and continued to visit the place. Last week, we decided to do it again to celebrate the birthday of one of our attorneys. It was his choice. This time, the receptionist placed the order a few days in advance, and was told when it would be ready for pick up. She went to pick it up as planned, but it wasn't ready. They didn't offer to get it ready while she waited. They didn't even apologize for it not being ready. They just matter-of-factly told her "the lady who prepares those won't be in until 1 today so you can pick it up later in the afternoon, or you can pick it up tomorrow." We had appointments all afternoon and couldn't do it then. This was planned for a reason. Why tell her to pick it up at 11:00 if they knew it wouldn't be ready? Why not call her that morning to say someone isn't coming in, so it will be later in the day, so she won't drive all the way to get it? Why not at least say "I'm so sorry it isn't ready"? Better yet, if they don't want to serve those to-go, just say so. We're an understanding bunch. The way they handled it was so grossly unprofessional that it makes all of us not want to go back. We ended up making our own and celebrating a few days later. For the record, their pizzas are delicious. They're cooked in a brick oven. The red and white is my favorite, and the chef's specials are usually unique. The cheese boards and antipasto boards are exceptional. My favorite cheeses are the Belle Chevre and another goat cheese from California that is infused with honey and lavender. Also, warm olives are a thousand times better than cold or room temperature olives. Who knew? As far as wine, they obviously have a large variety. I typically go with a rosé. They also have a nice beer selection. If you're a teetotaler, no worries, they have soft drinks. I'm not going to lie and say I'll never go back, but it will be a long time before I do. I loved the place and hate that they did this. Fortunately, they have a sister location in Fairhope, and there are other wine bars in Mobile we can enjoy after work.

I have never been let down by this place. The food is always phenomenal & they are always featuring new and delicious specials. If you're looking for a delicious glass of wine and a decadent meal, this is the spot!

Had dinner there last night and it was an incredible experience! This is a great take on bistro meets a tapas bar! Amazing cheeses and meats, and if that wasn't enough there's a great wine selection to choose from! I will be returning!

Let me start this review by saying I know absolutely nothing about wine. I went to meet a group of friends for drinks and snacks. I got there early so decided to get a bottle to start early. I asked the male employee there (Kevin?, Carl?, Kenny?) what I should get. He asked my preference and I said "something sweet with a low alcohol content, something a child could drink", and he did NOT laugh! He told me Red or White is a "judge-free" zone and picked out a WONDERFUL Moscato for me. My friends (actual wine drinkers) loved it too and ordered a second bottle. I also ordered the 2 meat cheeseboard with paté and prosciutto and chef's choice of cheeses. I must say, the cheese choices were spot on with a fruity, creamy, mild bleu or gorgonzola and some sort of nutty Emmental cheese. I know nothing about wine, but the I felt that the cheese went well with it. Note that the paté served is not the creamy kind, but the more solid type. The plate came with one of the best baguettes I have ever had along with assorted olives and white beans. Look, the white beans were good, but I felt that is a weird choice for a charcuterie board, I'm sorry...that's just my opinion. Anyway, food and service were spot on. Prices were in line for the experience. Parking wasn't nearly as bad as it appears from the street, there is additional parking in back.

My friend and I tried this place after work on a Friday evening. I'm so glad we stopped in! This place is such a gem! We split a margarita pizza and a bottle of scrumptious Pinot Grigio picked out in the store. The staff is lovely, the atmosphere is awesome, and the prices are very reasonable. I will be back ASAP. We were thrilled to have discovered this place.

This is the best restaurant in Mobile. Wonderful service, casual but warm atmosphere and it is excellent every time. We've dined here countless times and never been let down by a special, a pizza etc.

What a nice place to go relax, enjoy delicious food and wine and hang out with friends. Its very casual with down to earth staff. Service was great. My only complaint is that for such a small place is was loud enough to where I could not hold a conversation with other members of my group and that kinda sucked. They had a $5 corking fee if you do decide to pick your own bottle from the floor. Salud!

I love this place!!! The have such a variety of wine to choose from and their prices are very competitive with somewhere like Publix. Not to mention their food is always changing and always delicious. I forget the pizza I had, but it had an egg on it and it was delicious. Also, their cheese boards are amazing, I usually get the Red one and we always have way more cheese than we can finish. I have always had a great experience with the service, and the food!

Favorite spot! Chef is one of the very best in mobile, so you can't go wrong with the special. Mary is the bomb for helping with wine selections.

We love this place. We have Been coming here for several years. The wine selection is great. The food is wonderful. Erin is a wonderful chef. The only thing I would suggest , would be to have a little soft jazz playing in the bar area. Would be wonderful to listen to over a good bottle of wine!

We had our holiday party here, and the food was the most amazing and impressive party food I had ever had -- particularly the broiled oysters, brisket and pizza. The atmosphere is classy and cozy with exposed brick walls. When I went back to buy some of the delicious wine we had with our holiday meal, the lady in charge said they open for food at 3. I only wish they were open for lunch! This place is fantastic. I highly recommend it. The staff is friendly and helpful, as well.
