I really enjoyed my visit to Red Pepper Sichuan Bistro. The food was delicious, flavorful, and well-prepared. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to dine. Highly recommend!

We came by on a late hour, but the staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. We tried the Boiled Blood Curd, Braised Duck with Beer, and a pork shoulder dish (wish I remembered the name!), and honestly, everything hit the spot. The Boiled Blood Curd was my personal favorite— they used black tripe, just like the kind I’d get in Sichuan! Plus, the place is super clean and gorgeously decorated. Definitely coming back!

Google
Wonderfull Chinese Food. Very pleasant ambience. Amazing service. I recommended, salad: Sweet and Sour Cucumber; Fried Rice - delicious; Homestyle Pork Ribs with vegetables and Braised Pork in Brown Sauce. The portions are well served.

Google
Placed a to-go order due to the many positive reviews, but quite disappointed. The egg drop soup was incredibly oily and the General Tso's chicken, spring rolls, and pan friend dumplings were unremarkable. The biggest disappointment was the Kung Pao chicken which had so much allspice left in it that it tasted like perfume and was inedible. I picked out some of the berries before I gave up and threw the dish out.

Google
Always love the food. The pork bellh and the Peking duck (which comes with the pancakes/scallions/cucumbers/duck soup) are my favorites

Google
I was excited to do another trip to one of the best Chinese food options in the area. Unfortunately, they were out of the whole fish, so I ordered a dried beef dish with peppers along with dumplings in spicy sauce. Both dishes were very flavorful. The interior is simple, and the service is quick. I will definitely return to try more dishes in the future.

Google
Had a great time and meal here. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is on point. Love how the kitchen is visible from tables and can see the chefs cooking. Spicy levels were great while very accommodating for a friend's food allergy. Menu is like a photo album and vast, Definitely recommend for a dine in meal

Google
The garlic eggplant and poached fish fillets in chili sauce were delicious (and not too spicy compared to the same dishes elsewhere). Dishes came out quickly and piping hot. Great value with generous portion. The rice are a bit small, so order extra if you plan on ordering spicy dishes. The staff were friendly :) Would definitely come here again!

Yelp
The pork belly was super tender and I could not stop eating these green beans. I wish I came with more people so we could try more dishes. The place is nicely decorated and the staff were friendly.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance with quiet symphony music in the background. I love the cookbook style menu. Our waitress was very cold and abrupt. She didn't understand our questions and brought out our meals at separate times. The salt and pepper shrimp was really good but a tad bit too salty. My tea duck was cooked perfectly, I just prefer the traditional roasted flavor vs the smoky taste of this one. I would not return based on both meals and service, but if you're in the area definitely try them out.

Yelp
~ Love the staff here! Love the vibe & ambiance as well. I just wanted to test the waters to see if I'd come back to explore the menu more & they passed. Very clean... Perfect timing when it comes to ordering & they were very helpful with the menu. I didn't know they had so much pork in thier dishes. That its self limits a lot for me to try next time. But, it's all good. I went basic & ordered General Tso & Orange chicken first .. Then doubled back with some shrimp fried rice. The orange chicken and shrimp fried rice came out well. But the Chicken was a little dry and way too hard with the General Tso's chicken. Spring rolls went anything to dance over either. I'll be returning to see what else is tasty. Hope you enjoy it. #TeamDiesel4Evaaaa

Yelp
Rude. Tried to pick up an order for DoorDash but they closed early. You should cancel the order if you're going to do that

Yelp
Great restaurant nice & bright very clean . The staff were helpful. The food was very good. Had a variety for starters we had the dumplings which were tasty & flavorful. Then we had ribs, clams, shrimp, string beans & fish all which were cooked perfectly & very flavorful . I will definitely revisit this restaurant.

Yelp
I went to Towson University when they first opened up and have been going back even after graduating. This is the most authentic Chinese food in Towson. I especially love their spiced chicken dish and their sautéed string beans. Lately, I've been also trying their house special shrimp and it's 10/10!! The owner is always dressed very nicely and I love her sense of style. It's a great experience and also they sometimes have cool events. One time there was an auction for paintings from kids and I bought a bunny painting. Great spot for the community

Yelp
I went w/my son during a slow period around 3 pm on a a weekday. Initially service was great but after they served the food, we never saw them again unless we waved & shouted. We were the only ones in the dining room. The worst part is that the food didn't taste fresh. It always a bad sign when your food comes out 3 minutes after ordering. We got chicken with broccoli and fried rice. The sauce on the chicken tasted like it had sat in a pan all day. It had a bad taste. The sauce on an appetizer was also yucky tasting (it was dumplings w/hot oil.) I don't know how this place has so many positive reviews. I rarely give 1 star but this restaurant was terrible; I'm regret we chose it.

Yelp
I first went to Red Pepper in 2019 when it opened as my Chinese colleagues told me it was really authentic, and I fell in love with the sour cabbage fish soup. I've had it a few times during the pandemic to go (once we got whole bones of fish which made the dish hard to eat. It's more 3.5 now but it's local owned so rounding up! I will say, it's not very consistent but it's good. When I went recently after visiting friends who live in the area, I learned it was BYOB - so we got a bottle of wine from down the street. The complimentary beans and carrots were lovely - and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The menu is like a cook book with gorgeous pictures but hard to browse and it's not organized by meats. The best thing we ate this time was the garlic eggplant - it come piping hot. The staff got our lo mein order wrong, I asked for veggie but it came combo meat. I did enjoy the chicken and scallion dish as well. The sour cabbage soup was lacking depth of flavor but still decent. It tasted more oily than usual. As we over ordered we got to go containers and the staff will come pack it up for you. It's a solid choice in Towson - I don't think I would make the drive just Red Pepper as there's options in the city now.

Yelp
I come here quite frequently. Honestly the food is great. The service is also really great I enjoy all of the servers there its truly a lot of fun. I tend to be quite picky but this always does it for me.

Yelp
Red pepper is one of the three chains with orient express and tea horse and I would say it's middle of the road between the 3. Boasting a wonderful interior with lots of natural light and the feel of an elevated Chinese restaurant, it's a classy dining experience that contradicts the traditional mom and pops shop aesthetic associated with Chinese food. Speaking of the food, it tastes very authentic but as a Chinese individual I've had much better. I would absolutely bring someone here to try authentic food for the first time as it also has nice service but would I go raving about it to all my other Chinese friends? Probably not. It gets the job done when needed and is nice to sit down and chat

Yelp
Recently had the pleasure of going here for lunch. Food was delicious, but prices can be on the higher side. The restaurant is located on the busy main street of Towson. There are parking lots not too far from the spot. Interior is clean and simply decorated. We ordered from the lunch menu - green beans with minced pork, and the spicy fish and tofu. The set comes with a bowl of rice and choice of soup or spring roll and a decent portion of the entree. We also wanted to try something different so the server told us of the fish stomach stir fry which is not on the menu. Should've known it was gonna be pricey when we saw the bill, but we enjoyed the flavor and texture so we were happy to pay (it just would've been nice to know how much it was before we decided to order). The lunch menu is at a fair price, so if you're able to come by, be sure to take advantage of that! What I really enjoy about Red Pepper (and their other restaurant: Tea Horse in Ellicott City) is the authentic flavors that you aren't able to find in the area. Sichuan cuisine at its finest without having to travel far.

Yelp
This place is a very easy walk in the Cinemark and Towson Mall area. I didn't expect the interior of the restaurant to be so nice. I loved what they did inside, it's a very open layout and a pretty big place with windows into the kitchen. The menu has a lot of options. I am personally not good with spice but my fiance is. I wasn't worried about finding a dish I could eat even though it's a Sichuan place. Service was fast and attentive. Someone came by to fill up waters without asking. Food was good. Serving portions might depend on what you get, but you can definitely get a few dishes for family style and fill up. Overall, great interior, attentive service. I'd recommend a try for anyone looking for some nicer sit-down Asian food.

Yelp
Paid another visit to Red Pepper Sichuan with a group of friends and was not disappointed. We made a reservation, and our table was ready when we arrived. We ordered various dishes, including mapo tofu, fried sweet & sour fish, eggplant with beef and garlic sauce, braised tofu with veggies, and beef fried rice. Everything was full of flavor, and the eggplant was my favorite dish of the night. The service was also fast/on point. Red Pepper is definitely the best Chinese spot in the area and among the best restaurants overall. It is highly recommended!

Yelp
Red Pepper Sichuan Bistro in Towson is beyond delicious... like WOW good We've been wanting to try it and all of the people of Reddit say it's the best in the Baltimore area and it is!!! Knock your socks off excellent!! We got spicy wontons, pickled cucumbers, Sichuan cold noodles, eggplant in garlic sauce, chicken with Sichuan peppers & beef with rice crust. It was literally the best food ever!!

Yelp
The best thing about this restaurant, besides the authentic and delicious food, is the owner and staff. What lovely friendly people! They were so efficient and professional yet we felt like family. It was our daughter's birthday and I had brought in a cake. They immediately placed it in the fridge, and brought it out at the end of the meal with candles and music (a surprise to me as well.) The atmosphere was chic but warm at the same time. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Let me start by saying, the ambiance is very beautiful. The service to order was a bit slow considering we were the only customers. We came in at 2:53 and our order was taking at 3:06, I asked to get the lunch special and was told it was after the time of 3:00 but was accommodated anyway. My first gripe was the baby shrimp. I'm very particular about shrimp sizing in dishes. The taste was great for both of us until half way into the dish, there was a strong metal/chemical taste that I couldn't get past. I ended up just eating the white rice. The same happened with my son, half way through he had a strong metal taste in his food. By the time we got home he had became ill (headache, vomiting, etc.) I threw away his leftovers. We won't be back.

Yelp
My husband and I shared a phenomenal meal here. We'd had Red Pepper on our list to try forever and just never found ourselves in Towson, it was worth the trip! We'd made a reservation a few weeks in advance but found ourselves waiting in the vestibule with all the walk ins because there's no real host area. Once we got the attention of a waitress and mentioned we had a reservation, they did their best to seat us promptly. The menu is a beautifully bound book complete with glossy colorful images. We ordered spring rolls, Dan Dan noodles, kung Pao chicken, and grilled spicy fish - a nice mix of things we eat regularly and things we can't order elsewhere. The Dan Dan noodles were the star for me, perfectly spicy and filling! The whole grilled fish was actually crispy (?) but arrived beautifully presented in an elevated dish surrounded with loads of veggies (the cauliflower and bamboo were my favorites). I like my food hot, not just spicy but temperature-wise and a couple of things were carted out just warm/cooler than I'd prefer. Also, as a heads up, you'll need to be aggressive about getting your check. We had to ask three times. I think they're used to folks wanting to just sit and enjoy, or they were busy because it was a Friday night. Overall, a delicious food experience!

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants! The go-to spot for authentic Sichuan cuisine. If you are a fan of spice (especially Sichuan peppercorn, ma la spice), then you need to go here. Our favorite dishes are the pork wontons in chili oil and the mapo tofu. They also have great American-style Chinese options if you want to go for something more mild and comforting.

Yelp
This is a cool restaurant to go to . You can do family style dinner . They have so many options to choose from . A lot of flavors and spices

Yelp
I have been waiting for a longtime to try Red Pepper. Stopped by on a weekday and ordered the House Combination Lo Mein . If you like Brine Shrimp, you might like this : Not!!! Very little flavor , roast pork was tasteless. We also ordered a Crispy Beef that was soggy and over sauced. But worst of all , no rice with the entree. I understood the Lo Mein but with a main , no rice. Called up to ask about the rice and was told that it doesn't come with rice. Wow First and last , a shame

Yelp
Strong, aromatic seasonings. Rich, flavorful meals. Generous portions. Excellent atmosphere. Definitely a must-try.

Yelp
Decided to give them a try when I was in the area. Placed a pickup order. Got the General Tso's, shrimp fried rice and shrimp lo mein. Everything was just ok. The lo mein had a weird taste, like it was stale or old. I won't be going back. The restaurant itself looked nice but it was a few days after it snowed and the temps dropped dramatically and to walk on the side walks in front of the restaurant was extremely dangerous. I had to take my time and walk very slowly. Did not feel safe at all.

Yelp
Red Pepper is our go-to restaurant for Szechuan. They have so many authentic dishes on their massive menu that you would think it might take a while, but we usually order about twice as much as we really need and everything is still out in minutes, super hot and fresh. The incense pot is my favorite with a nice dose of Sichuan peppercorns, but even the humble vegetable dishes are absolutely top-notch. They also have a lot of unexpected street food dishes, and some standard American Chinese style if your group has a few less adventurous. This is actually our favorite place for birthdays and celebrations as well because you can get the big table with the spinning center, so everyone can share. It's BYOB with a store conveniently right across the street if you forget to bring it. Every time we go the ambience is a little more elegant as they change up the decor. Sometimes they even exhibit local art. The service is always very fast, friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I went here last night with some friends. We ordered four entrees to share between the three of us and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE OF THEM... was fantastic. Even the "side" of fried rice was a cut above what I've had before. I put "side" in quotes because it was frigging massive. The menu seems endless, and everything looks good. You can't go wrong. I was overjoyed with everything we got, but if I HAD to pick one to eat for the rest of my life, it would be the braised pork. As tender as a lover's caress. I didn't want it to end. My one and only minor complaint was the price -- it's a bit on the expensive end. $15 fried rice, $20-25 entries. BUT I'm not deducting a star because it was worth it. Didn't take any photos because the food was gone before any of us even thought to lmao

Yelp
I had a little bit of free time during lunch today, so I decided to try someplace new. I'll be honest, I had never heard of this location, and only found it because of a standard yelp search. The restaurant was spacious and clean, with very modern furnishing. The menu is creative and fun in terms of layout and presentation. The Menu options/items are incredibly diverse and interesting! There are many dishes here that I have never seen anywhere else... The several bullfrog dishes jump out as an example. I had the steamed dumplings as an appetizer, followed by the shredded pork and garlic sauce with steamed white rice. The steamed dumplings were dense, and hearty. Personally, I prefer less dough, and a dumpling that's easier to pick up with chopsticks. Having said that, they were very tasty and the dumpling dipping sauce was great. The steamed rice was very well prepared. The shredded pork with garlic sauce was very tasty. It had some obvious red peppers in the sauce, but it was not too spicy. Personally, I would've preferred the pork to be a little more well done (if not necessarily crispy). Overall, I enjoy this location and will certainly come back again to try some different dishes. From a lunch perspective, I was seated quickly, waited on quickly, served food quickly, and given my check and take away container quickly when it was time to go. You could very reasonably do lunch here in half an hour.

Yelp
We love Red Pepper so much and had been searching for a Sichuan place since moving to Baltimore area. We especially love that most of the menu is Sichuan and there's a small American Chinese menu. The spice is just right with tons of flavor. The portions are family style and very tasty. We've never had a bad meal there and everyone is very nice. We always have leftovers for a few days as it's usually just the two of us. The quality of the food there is fantastic. If you have a large party, they usually seat you at a bigger table and I think there's a spinning smaller top in the middle for sharing. Definitely come hungry. Favorite combination is poached beef with fried rice and a little bit of white rice on top. We always get a veggie and the eggplant is FANTASTIC. We've only gone in a few times, but there's never been a wait but we know they're popular because of how long it can take for a takeout order to be ready. The Chinese broccoli is one of my favorite dishes and we've even seen some things on the menu we can't wait to try that we've never heard of.

Yelp
I found this place that was on route to home after landing at BWI. The reviews here on Yelp were great which convinced me to give this place a try. The location was easy to find but was in a very busy area with only paid street parking option. The restaurant was spacious with lots of large group options. My dad was with me and I had him order some dishes we wouldn't normally be able to get at restaurants near home. The fish filet with pickled peppers was wonderful. My dad kept raving about how it's not a dish he could make at home and the flavors were perfect throughout the whole meal. My husband was very impressed that suck a simple dish as stir fry cabbage could have so much flavor and be so good. I really enjoyed the shredded beef with hot peppers as the meat was cooked perfectly and not dry. Last but not least, the spicy wonton in chili oil was made in the thin wonton wrappers as it should be. 10/10 would eat here again!

Yelp
Best Szechuan in the area! Affordable, tasty, and great shared as a family meal. I actually like it more than some more traditional Szechuan because they don't over-spice or over-salt, personal preference though. Went for the green beans, eggplant, stewed fish filet with cabbage, crispy chicken, and duck bamboo curry today. All had great flavor, came with rice, and hit the ma-la spot. Service is a little slow so be active with getting your waiter's attention!

My M.

Yelp
When I first entered I got looked at like I wasn't where I was supposed to be. Then the waitress took forever to introduce herself or ask for our order. Barely spoke along with never checking up on us. No energy but when customers of a different race came in instantly spoke and smiled. Overall wouldn't ever go back....Do better!

Susan S.

Yelp
Excellent food reasonably priced. Menu has a wide variety of choices. Even our picky son who doesn't enjoy much of anything but a burger enjoyed the meal. Food came quickly. Waitress was attentive but not intrusive. We'll be back. .

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Maryland in my opinion. Incredibly flavorful and very well presented. Flavors that make you want to savor and enjoy. Excellent service with a friendly attitude. When I eat here I feel like I'm truly in another country eating,, fantastic all around. They definitely know what they are doing.

Yelp
Ordered through doordash. Ordered a Sichuan spicy wonton in red oil, sautéed shredded pork in garlic sauce, fried dumplings, and sesame chicken. Large portions were served. Also had fried rice with the plates. Fried rice was okay, but the actual dishes were tasty. The shredded pork was one of the best dishes I have had. This dish did NOT lack in flavors. I would order this every day if I could. The fried dumplings were stuffed full, and the spicy wonton in red oil could have been spicier. I did not try the sesame chicken, but it was enjoyed by others.

Yelp
I USED to believe Baltimore didn't have a restaurant that could satisfy my craving for Chinese food-- something that was flavorful, comforting, but wasn't served a "small plate" cause sometimes you want a GIANT helping of saucy, piping hot, Chinese food! Red Pepper Sichuan Kitchen fixed that belief! Though it's very different than the Hunan-centric places I grew up around, this food is GOOD! Everything was freshly prepared, HOT, and full of flavor. Staff brought our food to us very quickly and made payment easy. The restaurant itself was super spacious, clean, and I imagine it can be very lively. Love the large windows at the front.

Yelp
Tl;dr: Amazing Chinese/Sichuan food and I have enjoyed this place every single time I have come. My only regret is not discovering this place sooner. Ambiance: Nice decoration, clean restaurant, lively on weekends. Service: Friendly service overall, and have had no issues. Sometimes you might sit with a larger group at a slightly crowded table if they have a busy night. Pretty easy to set up a reservation, though. Food: As a vegetarian, I have enjoyed plenty of options here. -Green beans: Delicious every single time -- the way they cook their beans just feels uniquely better than other places somehow. -Mapo tofu: Amazing! Their version isn't overwhelmingly spicy, but has great sichuan peppercorn flavor, with some green onions, and great mala flavor. -Dan dan noodles: Delicious noodles, plentiful sauce, spicy, and feels like the mala -Braised bean curd home style: One of my staple favorites with fried tofu served with vegetables in their brown sauce. -Spicy incense pot vegetables: These are delicious! Each component is cooked well in this light spicy sauce. The variability in spiciness sometimes varies, and this dish can sometimes get quite hot. -Sweet and sour cucumbers: Great flavor with the sauce, refreshing, and much better than I expected! Red Pepper falls in my top 3 places in/around Baltimore!

Yelp
Came here twice and although the first time was better, the overall experience was very pleasant and food was good. Unlike other more traditional based Sichuan restaurants, this place tastes more neutral, without being too spicy or salty. The green beans were cooked well, pai gu was also good, and fish was delicious. Service was good when we went the first time but second time was mid because it was during their less busy hours. They were less attentive and slower. The ambiance is also more elegant than other Asian restaurants.

Yelp
This place is 5with . Not only does the restaurant look classy, even their menu is top quality. And the food is best shrimps I've ever had, the ribs were phenomenal, their food is fresh and delicious. Hands down one of the best Sichuan restaurants I've been to.

Yelp
Red pepper is one of the few places in the Baltimore area where you can find authentic Szechuan cuisine. I love coming here for their great flavor and affordable prices in a setting that provides high class vibes. I had ordered the Mapo tofu with meat ($13.95), along with the chicken with Szechuan peppercorns ($17.95) and the Don Don spicy noodles ($9.95). The Mapo tofu was packed with flavor and accompanied with a kick of spiciness. The chicken with Szechuan peppercorns is definitely a must have. The chicken was very crispy. The Szechuan peppercorns were fresh enough to provide that slight numbing feeling. The Don Don spicy noodles were more on the sweeter side than spicy, however also had great flavor. Red pepper is a BYOB restaurant and they do not charge a corkage fee. We were able to bring our own bottle of wine (from a Total Wine not too far) and they provided us with wine glasses. They do not serve alcohol, but they do have options for tea, coffee, and soda. This restaurant has upscale qualities for an affordable price. They have a window where you can look into the kitchen and see the chefs cooking, along with a piano in the center and an overhead electric fireplace. This is definitely a nice place for a dinner date, especially if you love spicy food.

Yelp
Ordered a meal, waited more than an hour, then received a text that it was cancelled. No explanation. The deliverer even said via text sorry, she was instructed to throw the order in the garbage. No idea why. Never again

Yelp
It's a 4 out of 5. Expensive but really good Apparently I need an 85 character review so I just watched Whiplash, the drumming movie, and cried. And I'm a man. Ish I guess.

Yelp
Was recommended to this place by a friend. Had dinner here on a Friday early evening. Environment: ample lighting, comfortable wooden chairs and tables, semi-open kitchen at work to be viewed by diners. Service: generally attentive and friendly. Courses: -Cold plate of beef "lung" slices with sliced beef and beef offal. Not too hot, could taste the spices of Sichuan peppercorn, a bit too salty. Beef offal packed the right bite, not too chewy but had the bouncy texture. Beef slices tasted standard. -Stir-fried AA Choy, standard. -Dry-fried green beans, good, unlike the oily stuff served in some other Chinese places, here the dish was served with little residual oil like it was supposed to. -Boiled fish in broth with Chinese style sauerkraut, a whole fish cut into pieces, served in broth with shitake mushroom, rice noodles, and tofu. Pleasant vinegary taste of sauerkraut in the broth, tofu and mushroom tasted standard. Fish was in generous but was a bit overcooked and slightly mushy. Could use a bit less boiling time. -Dry-fried eel, could tell the eel was fresh as all the piece curled up during cooking and no foul, muddy taste was found. Seasoning was to the spot, packed quite some spiciness, but could also be fried to a lesser degree to preserve the bouncy texture of the eel. Overall: 4-4.5 stars. While there are some points for improvements, having suffered for years from all the overwhelmingly hot "Szechuan/Chinese" dishes dipped in hot sauce and peppers in the Towson-Baltimore area, I am excited to finally see a place offering authentic and high-quality Sichuan/Szechuan dishes.

Yelp
Got takeout. Mapo Tofu was pretty good. Fast service. Nice place. Will go again. Need to try other dishes.

Yelp
Prepare to be seduced by the symphony of flavors that dance on your tongue with every bite. Red Pepper Sichuan Bistro offers a tantalizing tangos of taste that will leave your senses sighing in delight. From the appetizer to the last grain of rice, my experience at this restaurant has been nothing less than transformative. The service is impeccable, lightning efficiency with laser attentiveness to top. They know exactly when to attend to your table and when to interject. Mix this with the casual but intimate layout of the restaurant - you got yourself a one of a kind experience. Now I could go on and on about the food. All you have to know is that any of the dishes you receive will match, if not exceed, your expectation. For example, I came into this game thinking the Green beans with ground pork would be aight - I SALIVATE at the simple recall of biting into these green beans. Needless to say, I recommend these to start off. Red Pepper Sichuan Bistro is a exemplary restaurant that is highly overlooked given the quality experience provided. It shatters expectations and serves as a model for what a restaurant aims to be. Settle for nothing less and have a delightful meal with someone here.

Josie S.

Yelp
The staff was nice but they seemed overwhelmed. The dumplings were tasting but there was no spice at all even though we ordered it mouth numbing. The chicken dish also had no spice and was nearly inedible because it was hacked into tiny bits and most of them were cartilage. The Dan Dan noodles lacked toppings and flavor. Don't recommend.

Yelp
What a great end to a cold day. The food, service and ambiance were all grade A. Some standouts were the wontons in chili sauce, the green beans and the hot and sour soup. Best we've ever had. The crispy duck was good. A little dry and could have used a good hoisin sauce on the side. When you've experienced Peking Gourmet in DC, it's hard to love duck any other way. Still, I don't think you could live here a year and get through the wonders on this menu. Go. Begin someplace and then keep coming back. Ask for Shawn. He's adorable.

Yelp
Although the food is good the service is terrible. This is the second time in a row that the business lost our order. We were also notified the order was ready by yelp? Not sure if this is a yelp problem or a Red Pepper problem., but we shouldn't have to wait for an hour at the store while they make it ! We were just told the food wasn't even started at 710 and won't be ready for 2 hours . Guess you should dine in only

Yelp
I finally have time to try out this place. The food here is very good. The menu is big with all pictures where I can see what is it gonna look like before ordering. Most of the food has pepper but it is not that spicy. You can ask them to put less pepper. I like most of the food we order here. The crispy pork is my favorite.

Yelp
This is not somewhere I would typically go, as I am a super picky eater. However, my best friend had her birthday dinner here, so we gave it a try! Very interesting place that serves family style Asian Cuisine. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by how good all the food was. They have something for everyone to enjoy, even picky eaters like myself. The price were also super cheap for the amount of food given. I would definitely return!

Yelp
The place was great. The service was efficient. The ambiance gave a nice traditional take but not fully Chinese. The dumplings in the spicy sauce was so good and the poached chicken was killer! The best thing they had was the dumplings and we almost got another round. Don't get the spring rolls though. They are doughy and not flavorful

Yelp
TLDR: Tasty traditional Sichuan food in a casual BYOB atmosphere. Come for the crispy beef and noodle dishes. Vibe: 4/5. Located near the Towson York Road roundabout, Red Pepper is located on a small side street in a large storefront. Street parking can be a pain if coming at peak hours. *Insider tip* park in the Whole Foods Parking Garage a few streets away and stop inside WF after your meal to buy something. Whole Foods validates parking for customers for up to 2 hours! Inside, the restaurant is rather large. There are several 2 and 4 top tables which can be pushed together to accommodate larger parties. The restaurant has a modern decor style to it with hints of Chinese theming. Service: 5/5. The wait staff was fantastic during my dinner experience. I came with a friend on Thanksgiving Eve Wednesday when Red Pepper was at full capacity with a wait. Luckily, because it was only 2 of us, the hostess was able to create a small 2 top tables out of their designated takeout prep area and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very punctual with drinks and taking our food order, even while juggling several other tables. Food came out in record time and with good pacing. Food: 4/5. Red Pepper offers diners a more traditional Sichuan dining experience with lots of dishes using unique ingredients and emphasizing the Sichuan numbing heat sensation. Such unique items on the menu include bullfrog, various organ meat dishes and full head on fish entrees. During our visit we decided to stay a little more conservative and ordered the clear glass noodle in chili sauce, the crispy beef, spicy spare ribs and marinated cucumber. Everything tasted authentic, with spicy dishes really utilizing the Sichuan peppercorns to give your mouth that tantalizing numbing heat. Prices are a bit on the steep side, especially when ordering the more protein-laden dishes. One thing I wished Red Pepper would include is white rice for the table, which has to be ordered and costs extra. Overall, definitely worth a stop for one of the more interesting dining options available in the Baltimore County area!
