Car hops are a rarity and this place was so much fun. It's on a very busy US 322 that has less impressive food options. Getting in and out can be a little tricky because of the trucks and speeding traffic, but it's worth the death-defying and easy-to-miss entrance. The server was on top of things, the food was amazing, and for 3 people having burgers, fries and drinks, it was an affordable meal for under $35, tip not included. Next time we go back for their soft serve ice cream!

Google
I happened to be in the area visiting a friend so I stopped by after years of driving past it. I’m glad I didn’t make a special trip from my home. Kids would get a kick out of being served in your car and it brought back great memories for me having experienced that when I was a kid. That said, the food can best be described as mediocre. I had a double bunny burger, which was OK; the fries and vanilla milkshake were nothing special. The service was really good, but I don’t have any need to go back again & spend $18+ for a double burger, fries & a medium milkshake.

Google
Old School, True Americarna. Flip your 4 ways on and the Carhop comes to your vehicle to take your order and brings it to you and puts the tray on your window like they did in the 50s. It's a step back in time. Can't beat under $13 for a Fried Chicken Steak sandwich, fry, and a large drink. Never had a bad experience here. Keep up the good work.

Google
What a nice find. A little nostalgia. Simple good food that is a mix between fast food and home made in our opinion. Very busy.

Google
Stopped by for a quick visit. Service was quick, fast, and spot on. Food was hot and fresh. Milkshake was cold and hit the spot on the 90º day. Can't really complain with a spot that's been open since thr 1960s!! Will visit again when in the neighborhood.

Google
Perfect stop on our way north. Love when we hit it on a weekend. Rabbit burgers, fries and shake. Kids love it here

Google
Went straight to this place after our Rock Hawk hike to get some food. Got a cheesecake milkshake, which was good! They only take CASH or checks even in 2025! You can eat in the car with their tray, or there's outdoor seating.

Google
Classic drive in style restaurant. Just pull in, review their menu online, turn on hazard lights, and they come right to your car for food. Just a busy, obviously we'll known locally, well functioning, diner. Get the bunny burger and fries with bunny dust. Budget friendly as well. Great stop.

Yelp
I love going to Red Rabbit, the atmosphere and service are amazing. It's rare to find a classic American drive in like the Red Rabbit but it makes it stand out so much. The Bunny Burgers and fries are to die for and always worth the trip. The milkshakes are also amazing. If you can try and stop by.

Yelp
The famous Red Rabbit!!! I've drove past this place for years and it's always packed. So I decided to give it a try and it makes sense why it's always busy. It's neat how they come to your car when ya put the 4-ways of service. It definitely has a back in the day feel. The burgers were really good.
google avatar

Yelp
Great shakes, great burgers, great fries, great everything. The staff are very attentive and the service is fast. It's a pretty cool place to try. You roll up in your car, park, and put your 4 ways on to alert the staff that you need something. The food comes out on a tray that they place on the driver side window. This is a seasonal place, so they're only open during the warm months. They have a seasoning called bunny dust that is phenomenal, you can even buy it for $7. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Yelp
First off, are you willing to die for a great burger? I would typically say "NO" but everytime I head east on SR 322 I realize I'm taking a huge risk to stop at the Rabbit. Access is horrendous and the place is always busy. That said, I stop at this place everytime I pass by because it is that much of a treat! It's a drive-in. You pull up and the waiter/waitress come up and take your order. They deliver the order to your car using the window tray system. Check their hours and days of operation, they're seasonal, and make sure you have cash! I always order the "Bunny Burger" that's made with beef (it's confusing). I typically get 2 single patty 1/4 lb bunny burgers, with their special sauce?, on a sesame seed bun. I do not like their upcharged poppy seed roll (hard/stale). This is possibly the greatest combination of size, roll, toppings, sauce, etc. in the burger world. If I were to do a burger challenge it would have to be here because I could polish off a full tray, with the right incentive. Other than the milkshake and fries, which are just OK, I honestly don't know what else they offer and don't care to find out.

Vincent F.

Yelp
Excellent hamburger fries and chocolate milkshake. I highly recommend eating here. It's very retro!!! Friendly staff

Yelp
Delicious food, wonderful people who work hard to please customers. Great nostalgic experience with curb hops, etc.

Yelp
Like everyone else, finally had a chance to stop on my trip up to State College. Had the best burger, fries, and blueberry cheesecake shake I can remember!! And only $15 for it all. Nikki was super sweet and helpful, gave great recommendations. Will definitely make time for this stop from now on!
google avatar

M M.

Yelp
Not to be missed one of a kind drive in restaurant with the best milkshakes around plus yummy burgers and fries. It's not open often but totally worth stopping by if you are headed up to State College!
google avatar

Chunky M.

Yelp
Red Rabbit has the old drive in feel, which is good for a quick burger. The trick is to stay in your car. We sat at the tables and were forgotten about and several cars got their orders before we even were able to order. Over all the burger wasn't bad. But I wouldn't go out of my way to return or go back if I was passing through.
google avatar

Yelp
A classic drive in restaurant. Pull in and put your blinkers on for service. The service was good and although not the quickest the convenience is nice. Would be great if the parking area had a nice view. 4/5 Food- Bunny burger- solid burger with quality meat. Sauce and toppings were good. 4/5 Fries with bunny dust- bunny dust is just salt and pepper. Fries were good but I'd like more for the price. 4/5

Yelp
The food is good when we went there in the past it's cash only and that's because it hasn't changed since it opened
google avatar

Yelp
Pricy but fun. Great food and who doesn't enjoy being served in your car. There are also picnic tables available to sit at.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in here on our way back home from Knoebels and was blown away. The bunny burger was excellent. The fries were also really delicious. The service is really prompt and I like the setup of the restaurant, eating my car was also pretty fun. I had my dog with me and she loved it. They were out of fried chicken so I didn't get to try that. I was a little bummed but everything else was really great.
google avatar

Yelp
What a cool retro experience!!! We arrived for lunch on a rainy day and it was not busy at all. Every time I pass this place it is always crowded so I felt like we had a VIP experience. They are open rain or shine and served us in the rain. I really appreciated such great service. We ordered two burgers and a malted black and white milkshake. Both were amazing. I loved the sauce on the burger and the smoked bacon. It was perfectly assembled. The shake was rich and thick... the way a shake should be! Cash only facility FYI!
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
Just YUK!!! I can't think of one reason to eat here. I know there's not much in the area, but this is seriously settling.
google avatar

Wakeelah F.

Yelp
Great nostalgic American experience. Offering drive-in service of burgers, fried chicken, pizza, soft serve ice cream and more. Things to note: -only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday -expect them to be busy -they only accept cash or checks!! Enjoy!!

D Y.

Yelp
Take a trip down memory lane and stop at this awesome restaurant! It makes you feel like you might see Fonzie in the next car over! That being said the food is excellent, the shakes wonderful. If you get a chance stop in, I'm sure you'll love it!

Jaime W.

Yelp
You have to stop at least for a milkshake if they are open when you are there! They are THE BEST!!! We've never got food there but will always stop for a shake!
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
This place is always packed, so if you see an empty spot, take it quick! Good food, with fast and friendly service. We got two Bunny Burgers (one with a poppy seed roll), an order of fries with "Bunny Dust," and two medium drinks for about $17. The only disappointment was the size of the medium drinks, which would be a children's size or small anywhere else. That's OK though, as the rest of the order was perfect. Worth the visit if you want the Car Hop experience.

Janice S.

Yelp
We have passed here for years and never stopped. Won't make that mistake again. Bunny burger and hot dog with chilli was amazing and the fries with bunny day was great as well!!
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
This is one of those "don't mess with perfection" types of places. Yes, they have a wide variety of options on the menu. However, if you want the authentic "bunny" experience you need three things. 1. A bunny burger. A 1/4 lb patty that, in combination with the other toppings, makes for a super tasty version of a Big Mac with added bacon. If you are super hungry you can get the double. The single is $5.10 per their website as I write this. 2. An order of French fries with bunny dust. I don't know what goes into bunny dust. It reminds me a little of the stuff Red Robin puts on their fries (I guess they call that bird dust). 3. A drink. The traditionalists stick with milk shakes, fountain drinks, or floats. Bring cash. Credit is not accepted but they do have an ATM available. Pull up. Make your order. Eat in the car or outside in nice weather.

Yelp
Their Bunny Burger is really good! Their Double Bunny Burger is Doubly good! Love this old time Drive in Burgers. Drive in put on the Flasher's they come to your car take your order then when it's ready they bring it to you! Put on the oldies & Happy Days are here again! Where's Fonzie?
google avatar

Meg F.

Yelp
Great service very good food .. one of my favorite places to eat Bunny BurgerBunny DustPoppyseed Buns.. missing the food already , access to the restaurant can be a issue but so worth it for a bunny burger with f with bunny dust Yum

Abigail G.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. First off, what's cooler than a drive in diner? Privacy of eating in your own car? Check. Picnic tables for more sociable people? Check. Top that off with the best burgers in at least a 30 mile radius. I don't live in the area anymore but my husband and I still make at least a monthly trip for the food and experience. Not to mention, they play exclusively oldies on the loudspeaker, so it really transports you back in time. My recommendations are: Double Bunny Burger Fries with bunny dust Cherry milkshake (delicious) I'm never disappointed with this order. The burgers are made fresh and you can taste the difference in quality from other diners. If you're traveling through the area, definitely make a stop on in. They are only open Friday through Sunday, also no card payment but there is an atm on the premises so be aware of that, but it is so worth it! And you can tell by how busy they always are, this place does not let you down. 10/10

Yelp
I've been coming to the Red Rabbit Drive-in for as long as I can remember. My order has always been: Bunny Burger on poppy seed bun, extra sauce, with no tomatoes or pickles. An order of fries with extra "Bunny Dust" seasoning. And always a birch beer. They have lots of other things, but I've never strayed from my classic. Please don't come to the Red Rabbit and expect McDonald's cheeseburgers prices for red rabbit Bunny Burger. A Bunny Burger with a poppy seed roll is $5.60. (The poppy seed roll used to come standard, but due to sourcing they added it as an upcharge a few years ago.) A Bunny Burger is a quarter pound patty, it has smoked bacon melted cheese shredded lettuce tomato pickle onion and housemade sauce. So what is it taste like? For me it tastes like nostalgia! It's difficult to separate the childhood memory from the actual product. I brought my husband here a few years ago and he was not overwhelmingly impressed. He said that it was overpriced for what you get. But for me, the Red Rabbit is an experience. You park and a carhop comes to your car to take your order, they hang the tray on your half rolled down car window. It is a mid century throwback and the place hasn't changed since the sixties. That is a good thing and a bad thing. Yes structurally and aesthetically there are updates that should be made to this restaurant, but they're seemingly able to get away with keeping it status quo.. Some important things to note. The red rabbit only accepts cash or check. It is a great idea to call ahead at least 15 minutes and order it to go, even if you intend to eat in the car. They are ONLY open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This place can get BUSY so plan ahead. Now excuse me, I have a second Bunny Burger to devour.

Yelp
Quick stop on the way to State College. No expectations and empty bellies. The place was packed and the staff was moving quick. We waited about 15-20 mins from ordering to get our food. The burger was great for the price. Keep in mind that it's a small little shack and it's family owned. This burger isn't made by a gourmet chief and you won't be disappointed. The chili dog was good, I like that the chili was homemade. It was a sweeter chili then so expected. Also had an order of the bunny dusted fries. It looked at tasted like just salt and pepper, but the fries were still good. Didn't try a milkshake, but it would have been great I'm sure. Would stop again!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a favorite of ours. Love the bunny burgers and fries with bunny dust. Great place to bring the family or dogs and sit outside at the picnic tables, in the grass, or in your car. Only open Fri-Sun so it can be crowded trying to find a spot on a nice day but for the most part we've been lucky.
google avatar

Christine F.

Yelp
A cool little vintage restaurant! Decent food and good prices. And yes, they actually take your order and deliver it right to your car! The granddaughters love it there!
google avatar

Justin E.

Yelp
An absolute must try vintage roadside drive-in! We were looking for a cool spot to grab some food while on the road and this place looked awesome. My wife and I are huge fans of still active vintage and retro locations so this was right up our alley. It looked kept up and maintained well. Be warned, you will wait at least 30-60 minutes for your food on the weekend. It is certainly worth the wait! The food is exactly what you'd expect from an old school drive-in with a pretty extensive menu. My wife, and daughter and I each got something different and we were all happy with our choices. If you like retro roadside bars and restaurants, Red Rabbit is a must try!

Margaret M.

Yelp
The food is great but their ff were hard I sent a message and they were kind enough to mail me a gift certificate Thank u !
google avatar

Frank R.

Yelp
The food was great and the server was attentive and happy! The only thing missing was loud 50's music and retro decorations. Servers on roller skates would put it over the top, but I'd give it a 5-star with better music and some retro decor.
google avatar

Yelp
I feel like if this is your first time here, you can get easily frustrated. We were near by and figured this place would be busy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. My family and I called our order in. I think they only have 1 line because the 1st time I called, a recording played. I called back and a man answered right away. He was very nice. He told me my order would be ready in 15 mins and that was great to me. When we pulled into the parking lot, it was packed. I'm so glad we called a head. Our waitress walked up to our car and we told her my name. If you weren't aware, this is a car hop type of place. You can eat in your car and they bring a tray of food and sit it on your window or you can eat at the couple of picnic tables they have available outside. The kids were asleep so my husband and I enjoyed our bunny burgers (bacon cheese burgers with lettuce, tomatoes and 1 pickle), fries with bunny dust (salt, pepper and maybe season all) and at my son's fried shrimp since we didn't want it to go to waste. The burgers were delicious! The patty was fresh and edges were crispy. The fries were perfect! The shrimp was a surprise. They had a crunchy coating and the cocktail sauce had a nice little kick of horseradish. This type of place is the perfect place to stop if you're out driving and enjoying the weather. People were very nice and attentive. Put your 4 ways on if you need attention. Can't wait to go back and have a milkshake. PS they only take cash but there's a mac machine.
google avatar

Cynthia D.

Yelp
What a great place! Such a cool/retro car hop & the food is terrific as well as the service. I got the fried chicken dinner which was crisp and juicy/tender. The chicken is perfectly battered (the batter is slightly sweet) and then fried to perfection. My husband had both a regular burger and a bunny burger (which is bacon, cheese, lettuce, secret sauce & bunny dust...he didn't want the tomato or onion) they were both spot on. He got fries with extra *bunny dust and we both had great milkshakes. Everything was delicious! *bunny dust is a seasoned salt blend that they use & you can buy a shaker of it to go, which we did. ***Just a heads up, its cash only but they do have an atm.
google avatar

Shawna M.

Yelp
A must stop spot when coming through the area. This no fuss place is a staple and definitely worth the wait for the best chili dog I've ever had--period. It comes on a buttery toasted roll that melts in your mouth. I always get one and wish I had gotten more, but refrain because I'm sure it's a days worth of calories for that one. Although glutinous it's worth every single ounce of sweat to get it off. They are only open Friday-Sunday and close for a short time in the winter, but their "winter" isn't too long as it's mid-February and they are open. They only take cash, but again it's worth the stop at the ATM. They do have one on sight if you are in a pickle. Enjoy!
google avatar

Keith M.

Yelp
Love this place. Waitress's used to all cuties. Not so much anymore. However, all servers are super nice. Even that dude. The food is fantastic now that they have been serving things like they used to. The fact that you can buy the bunny dust is awesome. We use it at home all the time. It still isn't as good as how they do it tho. 17 million thumbs up
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
I've been passing by this place for years on our way to State College, and finally had a chance to stop today and really had absolutely no idea what to expect (were city folk, give us a break). For starters: Bunny Dust. Let me just tell you it is as addictive as its name alludes, so ask for extra. The "bunnies" come up to the side of your car for service which is cool and reminiscent of Greece for all of us Millennials. Took a bit long to get our food, but it was popping and super busy on a Sunday afternoon
google avatar

Tiffanie T.

Yelp
So apparently this place is a legend and has a cult following - rightfully so. This has been my second favorite local burger so far. What is so stinking cute about this place? It models those old fashioned drive through where you park your car and a waitress serves you in your car in bomber jackets. Its adorable and all the waitresses were super helpful. I got the bunny burger...duh! I highly recommend it with their own sauce. I do want to note that you're not into thick buns, their buns are thick ( as far as the regular seeded roll is ). We also got fries with the bunny dust. I would like to help diffuse the hype on this. It was great but it wasn't that much added value. It was just a different spice dust that isn't spicy by the way. I think the star of our meal was the milkshake. I highly recommend getting a milkshake while you're there. Note - not many places to sit and for the most part it's outside
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Terrific road food! Tastes like the best version of a Big Mac you can imagine. Take a trip through a time machine and check this relic out.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Bunny Burger and fries! Perry County Fried Chicken Dinner! Thick chocolate shakes! Real Slush Puppies! One of the remaining carhops left. Bring the kids and watch the other folks. The food is as good as it was when my parents used to take me. Make the Red Rabbit a Habit! And don't forget the side of dust!
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Surprised at the rave reviews...was just an average burger spot, not sure why the place is always packed besides i guess it's only open on weekends to make it seem exclusive....concept is kind of cool but the building looked kind of forlorn from the outside....pretty packed with a small parking lot and it was difficult to pull into a spot and dodge other cars.....probably waited about 40 min for my bunny burger pulled pork and fries, none of it was memorable. Not really worth the wait but not terrible.
google avatar

Curtis Q.

Yelp
The food is ALWAYS GREAT!!! The Bunny burger was amazing and the fries are good also. The food is always HOT!!
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
My daughter LOVES the Rabbit. Fun place with decent food offerings served in your car window. Bunny Burger must be tried at least once. Good fries, great shakes. The chili, when it's available, is pretty good (but bring your own hot sauce). Can get very crowded on Penn State weekends, or any Friday or Saturday evening in the summer.

Steve G.

Yelp
I have driven past this place for 20 years (it's seasonal) and never stopped. The parking lot is always filled. I found out why! It is terrific!! It is a car hop service. I had the Double Bunny burger, and let me describe it. It was not drowned in Mayo, blanketed in lettuce, clobbered in Ketchup or greasy. What was it? Perfectly cooked. The beef had body and flavor, the condiments were perfectly balanced as was the tomato and lettuce and pickle. No wonder the place is crowded! Bravo Red Rabbit! Bravo!
google avatar

Warren N.

Yelp
I have been going to the Red Rabbit for 30 years! It is a blast from the past with the rabbits coming to your car to take your order and hooking the tray of food unto your window. I get the same thing every time: Bunny Burger on a poppy seed roll, Ham BBQ, French fries with bunny dust and a chocolate malt. Sometimes the wait is long but I find it fun to watch the people, check out the cars and enjoy the scenery. Like they say "Make Red Rabbit a Habit."
google avatar

J W.

Yelp
I can't believe I've been going past this place all my life (37 years) on the way to New York without stopping. Thanks to Yelp I finally stopped. Friendly staff and great food. I enjoyed the vintage feel.
google avatar

Ralf S.

Yelp
Just what if expect from a drive-in diner. We had great Bunny Burgers, great fries and exceptional shakes. This visit is many years overdue, and it was worth the wait Don't pass this up, don't wait as long as we did
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
If you like burgers you'll like this place, but make sure you go Fri-Sun -it'd be a shame to arrive when they're closed. Red Rabbit is a throwback to drive-ins and they do it well. No roller skates, but who cares? The food makes its way to you and it's delicious. Here are the rules: *Poppyseed Bun *Extra bunny dust on the fries (with tartar for dipping) *Cash only. If you can abide, head on up!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
I'm from the west coast and was dragged an hour up the river to experience the Rabbit. Had a fun time, interesting history, an hour wait for food, a burger that is no real reason to leave your house for. Not bad, but not much. I think it's OK to improve on burgers served in 1964.
