Red Rock is very popular restaurant in Japan. They're serving American cut steak don, but my recommendation is Omu-Rice! If you don't know what Omu-Rice is, you must try Omu-Rice! You can select Ketchup-based rice or garlic-based rice. And you can also select sauce, as well. This restaurant is newly opened and not so much people know it. That's why, you're having a good opportunity to come here now. And I strongly recommend you to come this Japanese restaurant, as one of Japanese. Dine-in is also available.

The food is ok. Not good or bad but, the Menu is over Price for the amount of food you get. Even the rice portion they give is small. No wonder I was the only customer in there. They give you a spoon portion of side orders. $28.00 for some raw slide meat. without a drink.

Google
The $20 hamburg steak lunch box felt overpriced based on portion and food quality. The hamburg itself was dry and relatively small in portion, and the rice tasted aged and cheap compared to other japanese establishments. The only redeeming part of the lunch box was the hamburg sauce. But again, other sit-down restaurants offer cheaper and better food at the same price and cannot recommend this place. It also took 20-25 minutes during a non-busy lunch time, so not exactly ideal for a quick bite.

This place is delicious! We had the omu-rice with beef/potato croquette and chicken nanban don. The omu-rice was amazing and decadent. The ultimate comfort food. I loved the rich but not too heavy demi glace sauce paired with the tomato ketchup rice that gave it a hint of acidity and brightness. The chicken nanban don was phenomenal. The chicken was fried to perfection and one of the juiciest chickens I've ever had.

Google
Food is delicious and really good quality. It seems pricey but for the amount of food you get and the quality, is pretty fair. Definitely worth a try. There's a couple of small places u can sit to eat there. But very limited space over all.

Absolutely delicious. Very nice touch with the 生卵.

Ordered the American beef don + raw egg and omurice, they were delicious

This place does not work disrespectful to customers arrived on schedule. They are closed, waited half an hour.

Yelp
Delicious, delicious food! Highly recommend! Everyone please try! I was stunned by how tasty the food was here. I didn't even order their signature sliced beef don! Will definitely get it on my next visit here. I got their omu-rice with hamburg steak, with tomato fried rice and demiglace sauce. This was excellent. 10/10 will get again. The egg is silky and luscious. Rice is flavorful. Sauce really brings it all together, it's savory and rich. The hamburg steak was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. I also got an order of five beef and potato croquettes. This was really good, but the flavor was not something I vibed with. I could tell it was high quality. The breading was super crunchy, freshly fried. It wasn't oily or anything. The inside was creamy and the meat was small chunks of beef, which I wasn't expecting. It was surprisingly...Pretty sweet, which is not what I expected and not what I really look for when I get a beef and potato croquette. I'd vastly prefer a savory, hearty or plain flavor profile. I'm aware this is a typical Japanese food thing though. I recommend trying just one and determining if it's for you or not, I believe they're roughly $4 for an individual croquette. Definitely coming back to try their variety set. Interior is very clean, and although this is an express location oriented for to-go orders, there is some seating inside! It's kind of cramped, but if you need to quickly eat and go this would be a great place to do it at. You can order via a tablet at the counter. They made my order immediately after I put it in, and it took roughly 10 mins to get it. I was surprised by how piping how my package was when I received it. It was still hot by the time I got home to eat it (~20 min drive). Even more surprising was the croquettes were still super crispy!! Like they just got pulled out of the fryer. The staff was also very kind. It was my first time here, and I can 30 mins before closing, but a kind lady explained how I could still order and how. The man who handed me my order thanked me and wished me a good night. Will 100% be back soon! I cannot wait to try their sliced beef don next!

Yelp
Ordered through their website and picked it up. Got the sliced beef don(most popular), black curry with omuretsu and hamburger, and the five set croquettes. My favorite was the hamburger and the croquettes. The hamburger was really flavorful. It was a little chewy but probably because it cooled down when we brought it home. It reminded me of the hamburgers that I got in japan. The croquettes were all really flavorful too. The onions added a really nice sweetness/umami. The curry was a bit disappointing in terms of flavor and spice. The sliced beef were like roast beef and went well with the steak sauce.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Red Rock in Gardena but it's always so busy when I drive by. I was pleasantly surprised to run into this place while grabbing chestnuts a few doors down. Red Rock Express is literally an express restaurant. While there are a couple of tables and one long counter top against a wall it's not the type of place you go with friends or family. But it's clean, modern, and a nice spot to have a quick bite. The person working was super friendly. I came right when they opened (5:00 on a Friday) and he greeted me and welcomed me in. He also made a few recommendations since it was my first time. I ordered the omu with pork cutlet and ketchup rice wirh demiglace sauce - which he said was the traditional way. Oh my goodness, it was sooo good. The egg over ketchup rice took me back to my childhood lol and please get that demiglace sauce. It's also great for dipping the amazing croquettes, which are the best croquettes I've ever had. Perfectly crunchy with a yummy soft beef and potato filling. It stayed crunchy even after my 45 min drive home. The yakiniku bbq was also tasty but I only had a bite of that one. I will definitely return and am eager to try the spicy black curry and steak don if you're in the area and need a satisfying bite to eat or a meal to take home definitely try this spot.

Yelp
So good, I don't even have any pics because we ate it so fast. My husband got the #1 roast beef don and I got the #2 cut steak don. I liked both but preferred my husbands because of the sauce that comes with it. He also got the cheese to put on top and that was clutch. I also got my steak medium when I think I should've gotten it medium rare. The meat quality was clearly really good and the rice was perfect. We also got a beef croquette which was yummy but a little onion-y. They have some seating inside and outside if you don't want it to go. I'm excited to go back!

Yelp
Likely the best croquettes you can get in the US! Red Rock Express is a quick and easy option in the plaza that used to house the old Mitsuwa in Torrance off Carson. Their spot is small but clean and not usually busy with plentiful of parking. My go to is their meat and potato original croquette but they've got 5 different flavors now ranging from curry to cream! They even have a 5 pack for you to try one of every flavor but personally, my preferred flavor is just their original. My husband really loves their beef don. It's a hearty and heavy meal but the quality of their beef it absolute creme de la creme! Their egg on top when you mix it gives everything such a velvety smooth bite. I'd love to try to omurice next time as it's not common at a lot of restaurants out here.

Emily N.

Yelp
A small Japanese restaurant located in the plaza where the old Mitsuwa used to be. Barely any seating inside so this place is mostly for takeout . The meat quality is great and the service is good but I made a mistake of ordering through yelps Grubhub online option. It was unreasonably way more expensive than the actual restaurant . Don't order from Grubhub . 30% markup.

Yelp
Service was incredibly quick when I placed my order online. I was told to come here when I accidentally went to the Red Rock restaurant in Gardena. This location has takeout and sit in while the other location is dine in only. I ordered a rice bowl, and omelette rice and both were amazing. I've never had this in Japan, but this taste is for a person who likes the beef sauce that is specific to Japanese cuisine. It's just a bit sweet and a little more saucy than gravy, but not as thick. The ambiance is pretty quiet, and I waited no time for my order. This was on a Sunday during dinner time. I would love to come back again and get the mince beef croquette!

Wan L.

Yelp
Take-Out Only! This is the second location in the South Bay and has more items on the menu. Ordered the Omu-Rice with Beef & Potato Croquet with Tomato Ketchup Rice and Spicy Curry Sauce. Tasty and Delicious! Good sized portions. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
I've been to the original Red Rock and the food was GREAT, I've been looking forward to this place opening. We ordered a 7 oz cut steak bowl, 5 oz roast beef bowl and 1 croquette and the total was about $54. The meat was tender but not the best quality in the cut steak bowl, the roast beef was a bit better but the kicker was the croquette. First of all, the croquette was burnt and SOAKED in oil. I was really shocked that they would serve it looking the way it did. Second, it's not mentioned anywhere that it's a curry croquette (we ordered the Red Rock original beef and potato croquette). The taste was fine but I couldn't get past how greasy and burnt it was and for $3.99 for just 1 piece. I don't feel that this was at all worth $54. Other menu items are very pricey as well.. maybe their omurice items are better? But those dishes are also quite pricey ($18.99 minimum). I am being quite generous with the 3 stars but we may try some other dishes again in a few weeks and I will update my review accordingly.

Yelp
Red rock togo!? Hell yeah!! Been going to the OG red rock for a long time and now they are 5 minutes from my house, of course I am going to hit up red rock all the time now.. Ordered the omu-rice with Hamburg Steak, tomato rice, and demi glaze which was damn good. I will definitely be back for the roast beef bowls that red rock is famous for.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Japanese style steak restaurant. It is pretty small and I don't recommend going here if you have more than 4 people in your party. Limited indoor seating and 2 outdoor tables. This location is a Togo version of the original red rock in Gardena. Food was quick and yummy. The Japanese steak sauce is on the sweeter side but it goes well with Jidori egg$3 There was plenty of parking in the parking lot

Liam R.

Yelp
Convenient strip mall location with a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating, through the intention is primarily for to-go orders. Food was decently flavorful but did not seem to be warrant the high prices, similar to the its sit down restaurant counterpart, especially eating out of plastic containers. Service was prompt. Overall underwhelming experience.

Xander C.

Yelp
i've been going to their other location in gardena over the years, and it's always been my go-to place to hit my beef bowl craving. perfectly cooked medium rare beef combined with a balanced sauce with sweet, savory, and creamy notes. I like to get the #1 roast beef bowl with with a raw egg on top. this newest location has the same great quality and taste, but in a smaller format intended more for grab and go (they do have some stalls and small tables both inside and outside that you can sit at, but that is definitely not the focus). if you like japanese beef bowls, i would recommend you try red rock (either location).

Earl U.

Yelp
Primarily a takeout., but there are places to eat-in, table, counter. Totally impersonal service, you order on iPad, they cook and give you your food. Similar quality to restaurant in North Torrance, but to me, the food is definitely prepared better at North Torrance location. All sauces will be placed in a separate container, so when I ordered the omu curry, I had add plenty of leftover sauce.

John D.

Yelp
Paid 30$ for a 7 Oz steak don. Steak was good but rice portion was very small. Charged 3$ for a raw egg which is kind of high and forgot my egg. The quality of the meat was pretty good, but I don't think I'll come back again. I wanted to try something new but after seeing it come out, I can't justify the cost to portion ratio. Rice amount was smaller than I'd hope. After driving off I noticed black flakes in my mouth, likely from the pan.

Kim M.

Yelp
Their meats are soooo good with the yogurt sauce! Lately it's super over priced though :'( 3 stars only bc of the pricing.

Yelp
Happy 2023! It's our 3rd night having dinner at this place .... I'm a fan of the Japanese Don and this place has the best Dons I have tasted. The menu has a variety of Don combinations and my favorite is the Katsu Don w/ Mayonnaise. Actually tonight I eaten dinner but my husband was ordering and I suddenly felt I am going to miss out and yes! I still ordered . Don't take my word for it ... TRY! you will experience the high quality of ingredients, the end flavor is mouth watering and tummy satisfying.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
A great place to get delicious food! Love the usage of space and the service team is friendly. I highly recommend trying out different items from their menu. So fresh, hot, and delicious.

Emily K.

Yelp
Such amazing food red rock is the place to be! It's got great vibes and staff is outstanding beyond belief

J S.

Yelp
Charge a lot for a little. Double charge on my credit card which took 4 days to drop-off. Made their weekly sales look good is a way some business do

Rayya H.

Yelp
ribeye don slapped so hard american sliced don was mid af service was alright, needed to wait like 20 mins for seating tho the place is kinda small so if u got a big group this place is a nono other than that the place is nice

Mayumi A.

Yelp
We did a phone order for omurice with beef croquette and curry sauce. Very delicious and great customer service. So happy they opened in this new location - will be returning soon!

Stephen C.

Yelp
Just finished my large American slice beef don and it was bomb! Don't listen to the haters. Glad this location opened up

Brian H.

Yelp
I heard about this awesome place from some friends and they said it's a must place to go for good food and great service.

John C.

Yelp
I was skeptical to try this place after seeing some reviews saying it was a disappointment compared to original red rock location. However, after trying it, I have come to the conclusion that it is just as good as the original one, with many perks. The lady working was incredibly kind to me and wholesome, making me feel very comfortable there. Additionally, I was unaware that it was closing time, and they did not rush me and waited with kindness for me to finish. I'm not surprised this place was so good, considering it's in the same plaza as Matsui and 85 degrees. I will definitely be coming back here for the flavor and friendliness.

Joanna D.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly staff and good service. Place is nicely decorated as well, makes you feel like you're in Japan. Would recommend!
