We dined at the Red Rooster while visiting Woodstock and celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and the experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish.
The restaurant has a warm, elegant atmosphere that perfectly matches the charm of the Woodstock Inn. Service was attentive and genuinely kind throughout the evening. We started with fresh bread rolls, which our son absolutely loved and couldn’t stop eating.
For our main courses, I ordered the steak, which was cooked beautifully and full of flavor, and my wife ordered the cauliflower steak. While she ended up enjoying the bread more, the quality and freshness of the food really stood out. You can truly taste the farm-to-table philosophy—everything felt fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and well balanced.
One of the most memorable moments of the night came with dessert. The server brought it out with a candle and wished us happy birthday, which led to two nearby tables—about a dozen people—breaking into a spontaneous and joyful “Happy Birthday” song. Even though we were actually celebrating our anniversary, the moment was so genuine and fun that we didn’t interrupt. When we later explained, everyone congratulated us warmly, and the staff made us feel incredibly special.
As an extra touch, the restaurant kindly treated us to dessert, which was such a thoughtful gesture and really elevated the entire experience. Our son especially enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie on the dessert plate—his favorite part of the night.
Between the excellent food, welcoming service, and unexpected moments of joy, the Red Rooster helped make our anniversary evening unforgettable. If you’re visiting Woodstock and looking for a place that delivers both great food and heartfelt hospitality, this is an easy recommendation.
