Our group event hosted in the private dining room was a huge success. The cuisine was beautifully presented, expertly prepared, and full of bold, memorable flavors. A standout destination for exceptional food and hospitality in Garden City.

Let me start with the real star of the night, our server JC. From the moment we sat down at the Red Salt Room inside the Garden City Hotel, he set the tone for the entire evening. JC was attentive, funny, warm, and perfectly balanced. He knew when to crack a joke, when to step back, and when opulence was required. He read the room effortlessly and made everyone feel taken care of without ever hovering. Drinks appeared right on time, everything was wrapped when needed, and his energy elevated the entire retirement celebration. Outside of the person retiring, JC was truly the highlight of our night, and I highly recommend asking for him when you visit. Tell them Iya sent you. Now let’s get into the experience and the food. We were there celebrating a retirement party and the ambiance was absolutely beautiful. We were warmly greeted and guided to the room by an amazing hostess, the decor was impeccable, and the lighting was perfect for those warm glowing selfie ready photos. Parking was also easy, with both valet and self parking available. We chose self parking because we did not want to wait, and it was a smooth experience. The food was an all around win. I ordered the Caesar salad and initially thought the lack of traditional croutons might be an issue, but that crumbled topping did exactly what it needed to do. There was also a wedge salad on the menu that I did not try, but it was noted to be very good. For my entrée, I chose the steak from the prix fixe menu and the portion was incredibly generous, cooked beautifully, and full of flavor. The garlic roasted potatoes were unreal, crispy on the outside and perfectly melty on the inside. The watercress salad was impeccable, and I also tried the chicken with the jus, which was so good I dipped my potatoes in it. For dessert, we had the pumpkin cheesecake and the fudge cake, and the fudge cake definitely earned a thumbs up. Overall, this was an exceptional dining experience from start to finish, and I would absolutely return.

A fantastic traditional upscale restaurant, with incredible service and the greatest bacon you've ever had in your life. The ambiance fits the name, with lots of Himalayan salt slabs as the decor. It gives it a really calming vibe while still modern and upscale. The service is fantastic. It gives that old school fine dining feel, constantly cleaning the table and folding napkins to make you feel taken care of. Everything we had was fresh, delicious, high quality, and perfectly cooked. The steak was extraordinary. The bacon on a close line is absolutely incredible. They come by with a torch to caramelize it even more, and it’s perfectly flavored and chewy. Prices are a bit on the high side, but it’s absolutely worth it for the experience. The bar/lounge is also a great place to hang if you’re not looking for the full big experience.

I just left the restaurant and return to my room and the first thing I wanted to do was leave this review. I just enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in years. When I entered I was greeted warmly by Natalie who seated me and introduced me to my server Moises. I thank both of you for your courtesy and Moises thank you so much for your dinner recommendation! It was restaurant week so there was a price fixe menu with several choices. I accepted the recommendation of Moises and I was not disappointed. My appetizer was the burrata with an exceptional persimmon based sauce. There was a little spice to it as well and it was thoroughly enjoyable. My main course was the salmon. It was served on bok choy and whatever sauce it was accompanied by was absolutely perfect. I like salmon but I cannot remember enjoying a piece of salmon more than I did tonight. That is saying a lot. I generally don't have dessert but Moises told me I shouldn't miss the chocolate cake so after the other two recommendations I relented. Perfect end to the meal. I see a lot of comments on the priciness of the menu and I suppose that's fair enough but the price fix menu was exceptionally reasonable. Thank you Natalie and Moises and to whoever it was in the kitchen preparing my dinner, please accept my compliments to the chef!

My wife and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary this past Friday. Staying at the Garden City Hotel and dining at the Red Salt Room were bucket list items for her. The hotel in general was just ok. The Red Salt Room was an overall disappointment. The food was pretty good, I had a 20 ounce NY Strip on the bone which was excellent, my wife had a past dish which she enjoyed. Here are the issues, the waiter was spread way to thin and only came to the table when we flagged him down. It was very cold and sterile, absolutely no personality or level of engagement. This was perhaps the loudest Resturaunt I have ever dined in, totally impossible to hold a conversation. Bread for the table was $9.00, first time I’ve ever paid for bread. We ordered mashed potatoes and creamed spinach as sides, ok at best. There are basically no appetizer's for people like me who don’t eat seafood. Overall we were disappointed.

Went here for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and my husband loved that the steaks were stored in a case visible from our table. It was pretty cool. The service was excellent all around. They gave us an anniversary card signed by all of the girls, it was very sweet. Our server Omar was personable and friendly. He was helpful and answered all of our questions. My husband loves to talk and Omar made us feel like we were talking with an old friend. Over all we enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning.

We have dined at the Red Salt Room in the Garden City Hotel at least a half dozen times over the years and have always had solid experiences. We stopped by for the Sunday brunch buffet today and were all blown away by the spread that was offered. It's was one of the best buffet offerings that we have ever experienced. I couldn't recommend Red Salt Room's Sunday brunch highly enough. It was special!

We went for restaurant week last week. The restaurant was cold and drafty and dark. We all ordered from the prix fix $46. There were plenty of upchsrges though. An order of bread was $9 obnoxious I had the burrata which was fine. My 2 friends had 2 tablespoons of soup in giant bowls. I ordered the bronzino with beans and kale with av$15;upcharge. Silly me I thought i was going to get a whole fish or at least a decent portion of fish. The puny piece couldnt have been more than 4oz. The sauce and few beans was tasty. The dessert of pumpkin cake with a bit of cranberry gelee was the highlight. The service was adequate although one tall fellow (waiter or runner)was helpful. Cmon show us something decent and turn on the heat!

really nice upscale vibe. service was excellent, food is pricy but really good. appetizer dumplings were very good. I'm not surprised it's listed as one of the signature dishes. watermelon and feta salad presentation was cool. excellent the ribeye was dry aged and cooked perfectly. we also got the short ribs which were excellent. deserts were a total win. I highly recommend this place

Attended the Dolce Vita Wine Dinner on 12/18/24 (6:30-9:30pm) at the Red Salt Room within the Garden City Hotel. The price listed was $165, however, with the Eventbrite fees, tip, tax the total was actually $224.70!!!! We gathered in the restaurant and Brittany Schmidt led us on a tour of the kitchen. We also met Sergio Zecca who introduced us to our first wine, Pio Cesare Barolo Mosconi, my absolute favorite of the night. He was with us the entire evening, and was so knowledgeable and personable. There was a display of bruschetta (chicken, fig with goat cheese and tomato) and we watched them make candied bacon. The bacon and the fig bruschetta were best. The chicken was too dry. Brittany then escorted us to our table in a private glass room. The 13 of us sat at one large rectangle table. We had a tv monitor to watch the chef prepare our food. In fact, for each course, 2 guests were allowed to go into the kitchen and help the chef plate that particular entrée. Now onto the food/wine. 1) Molluschi Suppli & Caviar (clams risotto croquette, black caviar, grana Padano) paired with Roederer Estate, Brut Anderson Valley. Small with a hint of clam. Very good. 2) Scallops & Frutti de Mare (scallops, sea urchin, frutti de mare bisque, fennel pollen) paired with Pio Cesare Cortese di Gavi. One large scallop, small portion imo. Heavy on the sea urchin taste, but the bisque was delicious. Gavi was great! 3) Duck Salsa de Noci (mallard duck breast, walnut salsa, poached white asparagus) paired with Pio Cesare Dolcetto d'Alba. This was my first time trying duck and by far the best dish of the night. It was so tender and flavorful with the sauces. 4) Wagyu Filet Mignon with potato al forno paired with Pio Cesare Barolo. The steak was tender and delicious but small. The potato was a bit dry and small as well. 5) Budino (Italia crème caramel) paired with Moscato d/Asti. Least favorite dish/wine of the night. It was entirely too sweet, the crumble was the best part. They initially served us one delicious piece of bread that was croissant like. I requested a few pieces more and while they brought out some, they mentioned they only make enough for the table. I think at this price point, the bread basket should be overflowing and refilled!! Towards the end of dinner, there was a few raffles and prizes. All of us received a 25% off coupon to dine at Red Salt. There was a cookie display (biscotti, rainbow cookies (heavy on the jelly but quality chocolate), pignoli cookies (diff from the bakery type), cannolis) and we were able to build our own cookie tin. Brittany, Sergio and our server, JC did not skip a beat.

The semi-annual Dolce Vita Wine DInner is the most memorable wine-tasting dinner that I have ever had in my life. This is because I had an interactive dining experience, helping the David Burke-trained chefs prepare food in the kitchen as fellow guests watched me on a television screen as they sat at the dining room table. I felt like a celebrity chef. There were 13 people in our party, and only several of us got up and interacted. You can see me several times in the reel that posted on 12/19/24 on The Garden City Hotel's Instagram page #gardencityhotel (view clip below). Sergio the sommelier impressed us all with his knowledge of Italian wine and the Italian wine industry. He provided us with a nice selection of red and white wines. My favorite one was the Pio Cesare 'Mosconi', which has an alcohol content of over 14%. It was spicy on the palate and fruity on the nose, and it was creatively presented. An appetizer dish was placed on top of each wine glass (view first photo and first video below). I felt like I was at a biblical feast. The amount of food was not to be believed; and it was delicious and of premium quality. My favorite was the breast of duck, which I helped prepare in the kitchen. The portion was ample, and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. What a way to celebrate the holiday season! Yelp Elite Stacey S. was my dining partner, and I owe her some gratitude for informing me about this spectacular dinner. A shout out also goes to the bartender, John, who made me a Burke's Old Fashioned. He garnished the drink with a piece of bacon hung on a clothespin. You cannot get any more creative than that! Finally, Brittany our host did a fantastic job, taking us on a tour of the kitchen and making sure that all food and drink flowed effortlessly.

Incredible food and service at Red Salt room. The Candied bacon was the best. Brittany the director made it an incredible night. Michael the manager was so dedicated and made us join the King bar for more fun! Alex from the king bar is worth the visit.

David Burke never disappoints, especially with their candied bacon and Mac and Cheese. My steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The drinks were yummy as well, and shoutout to our server, Venus. She was so kind and warm. Ambiance was nice and chill, tables are spread out and not overcrowded.

David's Red Salt Room is simply spectacular!, from the moment you walk in till the moment you leave.Our food was magnificent & so flavorful. We started out with the Tuna Tartar & the Crab Cakes which were to die for.We also had the mushroom pate & the Caesar Salad which was amazing. We indulged in David's select bacon strips which were so flavorful & dynamic. We had the Surf & Turf & both the lobster & Filet were flavorful, fresh & tender.The lamb chops were wonderful & we also enjoyed the Mushroom risotto, Mac & Cheese & sautéed mushrooms. Our experience was amazing & the food was simply superb & superior to anything we've ever eaten. Our server Olivia is simply a hidden gem. She was concerning & kind. Her knowledge of customer service & customer satisfaction is unmatched.She knowingly went out of her way to take care of my son who has autism.She is a wonderful asset to such a wonderful & striving establishment. The ambiance was classy & their vibe is cozy, romantic & even sexy. They made my daughter's Birthday dinner special & important. Thank you for the personalized Birthday from the restaurant, it was a meaningful heartfelt touch. I've been in the food service business for 40 years, and David's Salt Room is one of the best places that I've ever eaten in..The experience was marvelous & I look forward to coming back real soon. I went to Red Salt Room on a nice Friday evening in September. This was my first time there and the evening didn't disappoint. I loved the esthetic of the restaurant. It was definitely a vibe. They make a great dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives! I was lucky to experience a refreshed menu the evening I went. I tried their branzino and their charred octopus. The food was great. We had a great server and we had a few drinks after dinner at the bar. The bar was lively because of a wedding party that was having their rehearsal dinner and ended the night with drinks.

This is by far our favorite place to enjoy the holiday season with the entire family! We still think about that brunch and the children were so happy! Breakfast with Santa at the Garden City hotel has become a family tradition! You will not be disappointed- great ambiance but the food is also great! I am still dreaming of that scrumptious steak! staff on point, ambiance memorable and tasty treats for everyone of all ages! We love it here and will be back on New Year's Eve for the best burger on Long Island!

First time having brunch at the Garden City Hotel. We were celebrating our anniversary and it really was special. We were greeted with big smiles from friendly hostesses. Although it's a buffet and you get the food yourself, the service was impeccable. Our water glasses were constantly being filled. Our napkins were folded every time we came back to the table after going to get more food. Our dirty dishes were removed from our table promptly. The servers were friendly and attentive. Nice selection of drinks that were refilled as much as you like. The amount of food was not to be believed. All kinds of breakfast foods, including crepes and omelets. An amazing seafood station of fresh oysters, clams, shrimp, lobster and crab claws. A large variety of salads, hot dishes and sushi. A carving station of prime rib, cooked perfectly. The desserts were decadent. Everything was delicious. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Many might say it's expensive but you really get your money's worth, the food is quality. The perfect way to spend a special occasion.

Ambiance is nice. The lobster was way over cooked and filet had very little flavor compared to other semi upscale steak restaurants. The staff was very courteous but not prepared to be in a fine dining establishment. Cabernet should not be served like Champagne. The creamed spinach was very good and saved the meal.

I had room service in the garden city hotel from here and the food is good. The chicken tenders were like large McDonald's nuggets but tasted fine - just felt cheap for being so expensive. These and cheese side is enormous and enough for a full entree. The scallop pea truffle gnocchi was delicious. The sauce was a bit thick for my taste but the gnocchi was some of the best I've had. Very good food I would be back.

Ok so this is my second review on the red salt room but my first review regarding there Sunday brunch. So if you read my original post my dinner there was a disaster due to my waiter how ever after talking to Michael the manager he wanted us to give them a second chance and offered my husband and I comped lunch reservations. What a world of difference our waitress Mary was so warm and sweet and accommodating, Micheal definitely rolled out the red carpet for us , .. from the second we walked in to the second we walked out we were treated so well, now lets get to the important part the food . It was phenomenal!! The assortment of breakfast, lunch and dessert exceeded our expectations. There was lobster , shrimp, seafood tower , leg of lamb , pasta station, omelette station, crape station , French toast , bacon , etc... and let's get to dessert , cake pops . Chocolate fountain, donuts , cakes , fresh fruits ... it felt endless all the food and deserts . The ambiance was super cute they used the walk way into the salt room as the buffet station , the giant pink salt decorations behind glass is a sight . After this experience we would 100% return any time for brunch . I would recommend this establishment for brunch to anyone !! 10 out of 10 experience this time !!!

Thanks for responding my overall satisfaction is still not met. My issues were only addressed because I complained. No matter how apologetic your staff was it was only done because of the situation that was created by the GC Hotel. This should have never happened especially with the amount of money spent on a special occasion and the type of establishment you advertise. I would have expected at least an invite back where I would have been taken care of.

Red salt room brunch on Sunday was amazing. Food, desserts, seafood bar, everything just fantastic. A must for anyone looking for an excellent brunch . Staff could not have been nicer.

My wife and I came for dinner in the Red Salt Room last week. It was our anniversary and it was the perfect spot to celebrate. The hostess who greeted us was lovely. She sat us at a nice, quiet table. On the table was a card signed by the whole wait staff. Class. Our server was extremely attentive and very helpful. We started with the Candied Bacon. Unbelievable! Must be tried. The recommendation of the Short Rib was all I needed to hear, and it was delicious. My wife had the Lobster Tagliatelle (pasta). She loved it. They brought us a happy anniversary dessert and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne. The whole staff was phenomenal. They really made our anniversary such a special one.

Update part 2: We went to brunch as promised by Michael to make up for the experience we had at our 5 year wedding anniversary. Michael greeted us at the door, gave us the best table in the house and Mary. Mary is what every industry server should strive to be! She was kind, friendly, customer focused, and made the meal so pleasant. Mary and Michael completely changed my opinion. The bunch is on another level! The food is 10/10! And the restaurant is still elegant!

Came here for high tea on a Saturday afternoon. The room is beautiful and the server , Mary , was one of the best things about this. She always seemed to know the perfect time to approach our table! Anyway, if you'd like a glass of champagne it's the royal tea for $10 more - total $65. If you see the pics of the 5 minuscule sandwiches (for lack of a better word) you realize this is not really worth the price and you may want to hit up a pizza place afterwards. They were tasty but left you for wanting more. The deserts and scones are served on a 3 tiered tray but there should be less desert and more main food. Instead of tea me and another person opted for coffee. A small pot of it is brought out. We also were getting topped off with the champagne. I had afternoon tea in another place in Westchester and it was a bit more generous. There is free parking for people who come to dine.

The steak and risotto was 10/10. Fries a little odd but still good. Very dark and loud inside. Service was great and we sat down quick. The other side is the quieter side.

The bar tenders are awesome. They really know their tequila. Stop by and ask them a question and you'll be surprised. Great ambience and fun place to hang

Celebrated Thanksgiving at this first-class fine-dining restaurant and it did not disappoint. From the minute we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. The food and wait staff were impeccable, even on a holiday during which there were three seatings scheduled. The pumpkin bisque, which started the meal, had a show-stopping presentation - it was in a small white pumpkin surrounded by autumn leaves. The rest of the meal from first course through dessert were perfection. A unique feature of the decor are enormous crystals of red salt, encased in glass and which were backlit for dramatic effect, a nod to the chef's use of the ingredient in curing his dry-aged steaks that are displayed along the front wall of the restaurant. Will definitely dine here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a special meal.

The restaurant was sooo good!!! The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was really great! Michael and Patrick were so nice, and we'll definitely be returning!! Overall a really great night. Definitely recommend!

Just to be clear , both times when I spoke to your employee who answered the phone when making a reservation and also when you called to confirm did ANYONE mention a limited menu Because it was Christmas is absolutely NO reason to gave poor service and serve food " sloppily " If your waitstaff can't handle a holiday? Maybe don't " max" out your tables We are in Garden City, not Syracuse Let's call a spade a spade

The food is delicious, but this is definitely the loudest dining room I've ever dined in. Even when you have a reservation, they will make you wait. it's fun to watch the preparation of the table side items like blowtorched bacon, or baked Alaska. I do appreciate that they do not rush you here and they allow you to enjoy your dinner experience. Steaks are fantastic! The bill will be large. Still worth going for a celebration with friends. I probably wouldn't go for a romantic dinner for two.

Went to dinner here last night for restaurant week, and it was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had. From the minute we walked up to the hostel stand, nothing felt inviting or comfortable. The service was fine until we ran into issues, then it got worse. First, they brought out my wrong entree, but my boyfriend's was fine. We had to wait a while for my correct entree to come out, so my boyfriend's entree was "put under the warmer" while we waited. After waiting a while, our dishes came out. His short rib was lukewarm now, and my salmon looked great, but ended up being completely RAW in the middle. We had to flag down our server since they barely checked on us to try and get the issue fixed. But the night was ruined and I lost my appetite. Sounds dramatic, but I truly could not eat. The thing that really upset us was the fact that no one came over to apologize. We watched as the manager walked over to each table EXCEPT ours. As someone who is currently a manager in the hospitality industry, this is, in my opinion, the BARE MINIMUM of what you can do. I had really looked forward to coming here, and I am so upset and incredibly disappointed in our experience. Needless to say, we will not be coming back.

Had one of the best dining experiences here! From the crab cake & lamb chop starters, to the braised short rib, perfectly delicate fall desserts and their cocktails . My friends and sisters are already planning a day to go back. The service was also excellent. Mary & Francis took such great care of us.

Brunch was exceptional as usual! Decorated beautifully for the fall season and beautiful dishes of delicious food flourish throughout the buffet setup. You have a absolutely dynamite staff. We always look so forward to it. Truly appreciate the efforts it must take to give the public such a beautiful Sunday brunch. We shall be back for the holidays!

We made dinner reservations for 9:15pm. We weren't seated until 9:45ish. The hostess offered a table next door at the King's Bar with the Red Salt menu. I refused the offer because we were there the night before and quite frankly we did not enjoy the service there. The waiter was terrible and the food was mediocre. When it was time for dessert they stopped serving coffee! I thought the waiter was joking. So, that's why I did not want to go there again. I explained this all to the hostess and she was apologetic. She got the manager to speak to us about our experience and apologized for the delay to be seated. They were both very nice and professional. We were finally seated and they gave us a free round of drinks. When it was time for dessert, the waiter even offered to make us coffee himself if the pot finished. That's how customers should be treated. I am glad that we went to this restaurant. It was a nicer experience all in all and the food was tastier. The waiter was nicer too. Appetizers: Surf and Turf dumplings- Very tasty. Hipster fries- They were delicious! Entrees Roasted chicken Risotto Milanese with crab meat- loved it! We would definitely come back here.

I come here with my family often, and when I say we are beyond satisfied every time, that is an understatement! From the variety of delicious foods, the classy ambiance and the really engaging and helpful workers, it's an over all amazing experience every time! If you're ever looking for a place to go out on a date with your partner, as a surprise gift to your parents, or anything in between, this is the place to go!

My husband took me here last night for my birthday. From the moment we were greeted at the hostess table, I knew this was going to be a special experience. Our server, Mary, was nothing short of extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She recommended her favorite cocktails to us. When she brought me out the incorrect drink, my husband said he would drink and she comped it and quickly brought out the drink that I ordered. Jose was also working our table. We ordered the clothesline bacon (order that!!! You will NOT regret it!) which Jose expertly torched and served table side. When my husband went to cut some more for us, Jose showed up out of nowhere and said "oh no no! I will get you some more!!" Every course that we ordered, Mary told us her favorite items on the menu and explained the dishes we had questions on perfectly. We had a fantastic conversation with Michael C (I apologize. I forget his last name, but he told us it means "little house" haha) about his journey with Red Salt Room - he worked there in the late 90s and came back one month ago and some of the workers remembered him! In total, our dinner was about 3 and a half hours but it all moved at such a great pace. We were never rushed nor did it drag. The staff was beyond welcoming and the food was amazing. We were talking about returning with my husband's cousin before we even finished the main course.

Attended your dynamic Sunday Brunch with my entire family for my Uncle's celebration of life gathering. The food was so beyond delicious. The brunch was so beautifully presented and executed. Your staff could not be more accommodating and pleasant. My family enjoyed themselves so much, and the private dining area allowed our family to share so many beautiful memories of our Uncle with alot of privacy and love. Personal shout out to our server, Mary, who was wonderful to us and catered to our every need. And lastly, one of your Chefs, Angela, who was so kind enough to bring my ailing Uncles homemade chicken soup. She even brought fresh lime and tobasco sauce so they could enjoy their soup the way they like it. She was incredibly kind and lovely to my entire family.

The most wonderful brunch buffet I have been to in years. From the breads to the cheeses, to the smoked meats and olives, to the salads it was all so fresh and delicious. The seafood tower was incredible with lobster, clams, oysters and mussels. Then on to the desserts with donuts, fresh fruits, dried fruits, muffins and danish. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. Well worth the cost.

I was concerned that this place would be overated but everything we ordered was delicious. We were asked if we wanted some bread for the table. Everything was soft, fresh, and warm, but they dont tell you that it has a cost. I would have taken the remainder home with me if I knew lol. We started with the bacon and the octopus. That bacon is just as good as they say. The October was also a great choice. We did the surf and turn. I had filet and crab cake. That crab cake is one of the best ove tasted in a long time and the filet was ok. Not bad, but typical fillet. For drinks I had lychee martini. So good, I ordered 2. I would definitely go back for special occasion

David Burke, This was a disappointment to say the least. I came here for the first time with a friend for my birthday dinner. I ordered a glass of wine which was definitely not a six oz pour but whatever that was the least of the night's issues. We ordered the bread service ($6) which was rock hard ALL OF IT. The scallop app, was two tiny scallops with tobiko, the beurre blanc was tasteless. My friend ordered the paella, which was presented beautifully and she liked it but said it was ok nothing special. I ordered the surf and turf with shrimp scampi. Let me preface by saying I do not really like meat and only ordered this dish specifically for the shrimp scampi. I love shrimp scampi and chose this dish again because of it. When my meal arrived it was just a grilled filet with 3 pieces of grilled shrimp. I asked the waiter where the scampi sauce was, she gave me a blank stare and said I'll check but the runner serving the food said I'll ask. To which I replied oh no need the server is asking the kitchen. His response was oh no she's not going to ask she's going that way the kitchen is this way she doesn't know anything. The runner then comes back and says oh no, the chef says we don't have shrimp scampi, the surf and turf comes with olive oil grilled shrimp. I was very annoyed by the entire situation and let them know that the menu LITERALLY SAYS SHRIMP SCAMPI NOT GRILLED SHRIMP OR EVEN JUST SHRIMP. I would not have ordered just grilled shrimp. For what? I can make that at home -___- If you don't have something don't put it on your menu or at least let the customer that you do not have it but don't try to make it seem like I'm the wrong one in the situation when your menu says shrimp scampi. My friend and I didn't even bother ordering dessert and instead left to get dessert at Martha's, where we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Update: Did this happen more than once that evening? Did more than one person complain about the shrimp scampi because at no point did a manager approach my table and come talk to me. Yelp is a platform for customers to give their honest review of their experience with the business. Do not come here and lie trying to make it seem like my view of the situation was inaccurate and that I'm just trying to berate this establishment unless again you're confusing me with another customer. At no point did a manager approach my table and ask me about my entree. Your menu specifically has an option that offers shrimp scampi. At no point did the server say it was marinated in a scampi sauce and then grilled. Had he said that I would have let it go. He specifically said that the shrimps are grilled with olive oil and that is why I told him that your menu shouldn't offer shrimp scampi if you don't actually serve shrimp scampi. And again you must be confusing me with another customer because I'm fact did not consume my full meal. I only ate my side of grilled asparagus and took the food to go as well as my friend. I did not return my meal because I do not like to waste food (again that is why I took it home) and I did not want to have to wait for another meal to be prepared while my friend had her food. Thank you for your invitation but considering this is how you try to amend the situation, I think not.

Beautiful atmosphere, great service. The Wagu burger was amazing, but they kill it with frozen Costco seasoned fries. What happened to the handcut fries back in the day ? Your a steakhouse? A chophouse? Dining room amazing filet mignon, wedge salad was commercial dressing? Are you kidding me? Stop cutting corners. People are noticing.

2020 Restaurant Week Review Out of all the Long Island restaurants, Red Salt Room is my first choice. Have you seen their menu? It's insane! I'm with a work buddy who enjoys a great meal. If you follow me on Yelp, you know I want a great meal. Our waitress comes to our table and gives us the restaurant week menu. I say: a bottle of wine or cocktails? Cocktails it is so I order my go to: an Old Fashion. We're asked for our starters, I would like the Sweet Potato Bisque. Bacon is a choice but my buddy says bring the bacon clothesline out! We're both disappointed, where is the tableside fire?! My soup? Very rich but that bacon? Man it's sooooo good. I don't want to eat a heavy meal but DB stacked the deck and made the restaurant week menu choices amazing. During restaurant week, The Red Salt menu has *two* steaks on the menu?! And the Rib Eye is salt aged! ($35 upcharge) My buddy? He's all in so we order two Rib Eyes, with some amazing creamed spinach. More drinks?? Yes please and thank you. The steaks come with two sauces, one was a bearnaise sauce and the other was a simple steak sauce. The DB Red Salt aged ribeye was cooked *perfectly* Now I'm pretty packed. Our waitress tells us there's dessert?? I'm going to pass on the cheesecake and go with the Valrhona Chocolate tart with Amarena Cherries. Decadent? Oh yeah. This is an amazing restaurant and I highly recommend trying the Restaurant Week menu which is offered until Sunday.

If you ever go there for restaurant week - don't bother. They will bait and try to switch you saying that the menu is only for a limited time. I would have been fine if that was disclosed on any website before my visit. They also said that they were aware it wasn't on the websites - and that someone should have called me. Of course they didn't & that was their mistake BUT my family had to have a horrible time because of it. They don't have it together! Don't waste your time unless you enjoy someone talking down to you like you are an idiot.

Good food! Nice ambiance-although I expected more of a salt room theme upon walking in. Outstanding service! The bread basket it incredible-cranberry bread, banana bread, regular bread, pumpernickel. GET THE BACON! it's incredible. They torch it table side. Caesar salad could do without, not a lot of dressing and when adding extra not too great of flavor. Dinner I got the Thursday night surf and turf special of short rib with popcorn shrimp over polenta. It was a tad salty...the popcorn shrimp offset the dish a bit, adding great texture but almost seemed misplaced. The meet was so tender, but taste was not all that impressive. Others ordered the wagyu flat iron which was good, not the most tender meat but good. And then surf and turf traditional with filet and an angry lobster tail...with the mashed potatoes it was awesome! Want to try again!

Brunch at Red Salt Room We missed the buffet brunch by a week. Although I was a bit disappointed, we were pleased with the delicious brunch the Red Salt Room offered. I thoroughly enjoyed the eggs benedict. To my surprise the meal came with two eggs. It was plentiful. My husband liked his Egg White and Spinach Fritatta. Impeccable customer service. The servers were so attentive, making sure your coffee cup and water glass were always full. Yes, this establishment is a bit pricey--You are at the Garden City Hotel. If you can afford a pleasant and delicious meal experience, especially for a special occasion, I recommend Red Salt Room.

About a month ago we went to brunch on Halloween. It's been long overdue. The place had indoor dining at 50% capacity. The place is opened for brunch from 11:30am - 2pm. What is awesome was you get a complementary cocktail with an order of an entree. Masks are mandatory when going inside and only taken off when eating. The restroom was clean. Upon entry we had our temperatures checked. Reservations were required for compliance and seating. The setup is pretty neat where each table is separated by movable curtains (that's the best way I can describe it). We met the staff and the executive chef who were very accommodating and very hands on with the handling of food, providing quick and efficient service and immediately cleaning and disinfecting the dining area after each customer departs. We received a multitude of food tastings and we ordered our entrees. So let's begin: Clothesline Bacon is a must have. The whimsical and creative presentation of the dish is one of David's signature dishes. The dish usually had a presentation but unfortunately I missed that due to a phone call with a neurologist/linguist regarding the COVID-19 vaccine outside of the restaurant because there was no cell service inside the restaurant. Overall I didn't miss much because I have had it so many times at various David Burke restaurants and it never gets old. The taste is still amazing and consistent in all of his restaurants I have eaten at. For the entrees, we ordered the Beef Short Rib Burger, which was HUGE, and extremely filling. The burger's height was bigger than my mouth that I had to break it apart to capture every layer in one shot. I had the spiced apple sangria with the burger. The sangria was refreshing and filled with lots of apples. My other half ordered the French toast and omg he loved it!! He actually devoured it and ordered two cups of coffee. We finally get to dessert and there were doughnuts. The doughnuts were fresh and it hit the spot don't know how but we finished it. Then we went into massive food coma. Food and service were awesome. Kudos to the chef for making our dishes so good. Can't wait to return to try the Sunset Menu and happy hour. By the way, given the reputation of this restaurant being labelled as high end dining. The brunch is worth trying because most if not all the entrees are under $25 AND you get a free cocktail!

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner while visiting on business. Big fan of David Burke and I have to say this was one of the best experiences I've had in his places. The server Mo was very knowledgeable and very on point with his suggestions and service. Had an terrific Hemingway Daquiri They had half off wine on Wednesday which was a huge plus. I ordered Angry Asparagus to start which was delicious warm white asparagus with crumbled baked prosciutto, followed by Dover Sole - "10". Some of the plates I observed on other tables looked amazing. The restaurant has very intimate feel and is quite attractive. A very cool feature is all of the salt bricks signed by celebs that dined there. I highly recommend.

Came here for the Fall 2019 Restaurant Week menu, and so happy we did! Red Salt Room had a great selection for their fall offerings and I full leaned into it with my choices. We arrived a bit too early and got drinks at the bar before we headed over to reservation time. My sister and I started with the infamous bacon on a clothesline. Just do it. Get it. Amazing, thick slabs of bacon that caramelize even more once at your table and the server brings out the torch. The sizzle was music to our ears. We then indulged with some butter and bread, both fresh. My appetizer was the fall squash soup, topped with cinnamon and apple fritters. It was mostly soup, but it hit the soul as it slid down. So warm and cozy. RSR is a hygge-lovers haven. I then opted for the fall squash bucatini. I really love squash, y'all. Complete with short rib bolognese and ricotta (which they stated as hand-picked... not sure if they meant hand made there..). A super hearty dish, the short rib and delicata squash were a match made in heaven. My dessert was the apple crumble with pumpkin ice cream. Oh my goodness I could sit and eat a chip bag size of the apple crumble topping. Still dreaming of this. The restaurant is really beautiful and the service was impeccable. David Burke's got quite a gem here. Would glad come back RW or not, you're sure to have a solid meal here.

Decided on Red Salt Room for our anniversary dinner. Was nicely surprised when we got complimentary glasses of champagne to start our celebration. We started with the bread service- it was nice that it included a variety of breads, but we had to ask for butter to go with it, when it appeared that all the other tables were being served with butter and olive tapenade. We also had the surf and turf dumplings- you get 2 of each so it was nice to split. Both were very good. For dinner I had the lobster tagliatelle and my husband had the duck, duck, duck. We both enjoyed ours and I had plenty of left overs to take home. We finished up with the carnival- as we'd had something similar at another David Burke restaurant and enjoyed it. As it's meant for 3 people we had a lot to take home- I liked the tulip cups best. Lastly they brought us complimentary chocolate chip cookies, again to celebrate our anniversary. It was a very nice experience overall and would definitely return for another special occasion.

The food was very delicious and the cocktails too, only thing was our server seemed to forget about our cocktails we had to ask for them. We finally received them when our appetizers came, and again we were sitting for quite sometime when a maitres happened to notice we were still waiting on our dessert. We have been there for their wonderful brunch so we will possibly give their dinner another try.'

Great ambiance in a classic hotel setting. Service team (bar, waitstaff and management) all knowledgable and friendly. Food delivers on all counts, interesting and delicious.

Afternoon tea was lovely. Great sandwich offerings, scones, and petit fours. Lovely tea choices with coffee or hot chocolate if preferred. Child friendly. The service was exceptional. The restaurant is beautiful. Valet parking.

Sadly updating my review. Was there last night. It was like a completely different restaurant. Starting with cocktails: Dirty martini wasn't dirty, nor did it have any taste of vodka whatsoever. That one I actually sent back as it tasted like flavored water with 3 olives on a toothpick. Not ok for $19- Entrees and sides: My son and I ordered surf and Turf with lobster tail. $68- Lobster was dry and flavorless. Filets we're both overcooked based on our requests for medium rare and medium. Asked for drawn butter and I'm sure it was heated olive oil. My husband ordered surf and turf with crab cake. Again filet over cooked and crab cake was the size of a silver dollar. Again $68- Side: Wild mushrooms were slimy and flavorless. I'm not complaining about the price. I will pay for good food and cocktails...if they are worth what I am paying. Sadly not one thing on that table was worth even half of the bill. I know restaurants have off days and on days,..but we were one of maybe 5 or 6 tables in the entire place. It was not acceptable.
