Red Stick Farmers Market Pennington

Went to Pennington Medical Research Center for the 4th Annual Senior screening. This is the most people I have ever seen here. There were so many educational and screening information and benefits available. I had several screening done. Met two new friends there. All the food were delicious. Hope the gov't done cut this .much-needed event out. Telling it like it IS 🌝 TerryB 🦼

The best produce and food artisans Baton Rouge has to offer. You can literally grocery shop here. Skip the big box stores and stop by The Red Stick Farmer's Market every Thursday and Saturday from 8-12! Come check us out.

It was very tiny with not much selection. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it could just use more vendors and selection. But I guess for a mid-week market it's about what I should've expected. Still, I'm just a bit disappointed. NOTE: Avoid the table selling "Real Tomatoes" because all they're selling are the same tomatoes you can get in the grocery store! They have no flavor, don't ripen (even after 2+ weeks on the counter), & cost a LOT more than grocery store tomatoes.

The store had comfortable lighting.

Although it was raining during my visit (first time going), the vendors were very friendly; variety of fruits, vegetables, jams, meat/fish were available; and the hot chocolate was good!

Awesome location, easy to park and access!

Staff were courteous and respectful.

I LOVE the Farmers Market!!! They open every Thursday at 8am. People from all over were there to sell things they made, grew or specialized in. I bought Ponchatoula fresh strawberries and homemade strawberry jam, plants for the garden, tea cakes and frozen pepperjack burger patties from Cutrer's Meat Market and Slaughterhouse. Check it out!!
