Delicious, fresh and affordable Korean food! We ordered ahead, I sent my hubby to pick up our order. Before we leave from any place we order from I always make sure we aren't missing anything. We were missing a couple of our taiyakis but it was no biggie I sent my hubby back over for them. Turns out he just forgot to put them in the bag but the owner also decided to made a fresh batch of extras for us. Which wasn't necessary at all but it shows you how much he cares about the establishment and his customers! We ordered all of the different flavors of taiyakis (red bean, cheese, Oreo and Nutella), the steak and pork bowls with sauce on the side (which I recommend if you have to travel like we did, we drove from Sherwood). Of course we snacked on some of the taiyakis on our way home. The sauce for the rice bowls was tangy and not spicy at all. All of our food was so delish, flavorful, good portions and on point! We'll definitely be back again.

Delicious! I had the tofu bowl and my husband had the bowl with prime rib. Both were excellent. We ordered on GrubHub and called the restaurant to confirm they received our order after time kept being added to the delivery time. They were super nice about it and threw in some free drinks when our order got here. The Oreo taiyakj was a tasty treat to end the meal. Their prices are very reasonable as well for their portions. Check this place out, it’s worth it!

Google
Can't speak to the location's atmosphere at this time, as I ordered Doordash, but I loved my chicken tender bowl and delicious Nutella taiyaki treat. Veggies seemed fresh and were cooked just right, chicken was crispy and yummy, and the extra portion of rice I requested was super generous. Portion was enough to have some leftover, for a fantastic price. I plan to eat from this restaurant again for sure.

Google
This place truly deserves all the highest praises! The gentleman that owns this spot is the most hard working and friendliest soul I've met. Everything seems to be made in house! From the yummy and balanced kimchi and pickles to the fresh grilled marinated meats. The fried chicken tenders are hand battered and juicy. My husband absolutely loves their hotdogs. In his honest opinion, best hotdogs in Portland hands down! Don't get me started on their Taiyaki! Made to order with tasty fillings. Perfect to devour on a cold rainy day! My faves are their Reese's PB cups and the Oreo Taiyaki. So glad that this place exists! We will continue to be your ever loyal customers happily!

Google
Still drooling… that Chicken and Waffle Taiyaki was extraordinary! I had it with the sweet and spicy sauce. I’m a connoisseur of chicken and waffles… just love that sweet and savory combo. I must say, putting a sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken strip inside a fish shaped waffle pouch is one of my favorite versions of the dish yet! Affordable, Delish, Easy Eat! Pure Genius!

Google
We tried two of the bowls, beef bulgogi and garlic pork belly. Both were excellent; the meat was tender and flavorful, and the veggies were a perfect accompaniment. We also got 3 of the fish shaped waffles, and they were also very tasty. Highly recommended!

Google
Absolutely delicious! Well portioned and decently priced. Added bonus is the complimentary taiyaki dessert that came with my garlic pepper pork belly bowl. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!

Ordered the waffle and teriyaki chicken and they changed out my order for an LA hot dot combo. While I have had the dog combo before and enjoyed it. I can’t do ketchup. At least the other team members at work get dinner. Booo… the other two times however were good. The fried and dogs are A+

Yelp
I can say enough good things about this place. This is THE place for TAOYAKI... now my kids favorite one is Oreo one, as less sweet then Nutella. Of course, I stick with red bean ones. Glad their chicken sandwich combo is back! Also I like their spicy pork bowl too. Recommend calling in for taoyakis if you order a bill (I do). I eat few on spot, then refrigerate others and throw it in toaster/ air fryer for 3 minutes and good as new:) And owner is always so nice!

Yelp
Little foodcart located off of Holgate, what a gem! I enjoyed their bibimbap, the meats are good. It has purple rice and the veggies are not the ones used in a traditional bibimbap but was still good! The sauce is a tinge spicy and went well with the veggies. The fried chicken was crispy and comes with a big cup of maple syrup to dunk in! I loved the taiyaki and the fish waffle!! The texture is like mochi, moist and a bit bouncy to the bite. Definitely recommend! I got their redbean and cheese filled taiyakis

Yelp
This is a review for delivery. This restaurant was recommended for me on door dash. My wife and I had been craving some bulgogi for a while so we went for it. The ribeye bulgogi was delicious. A lot of veggies and tasty kimchi. It came with purple rice which isn't my favorite but they did it well. 9/10 for sure. We tried their version of chicken and waffles. The chicken tender was huge and crispy. The Korean style waffle delicious. 8/10 The Korea Town hot dog combo was unique. The hot dog and bun themselves were awesome. Fries were great. I didn't care too much for the toppings. If they sound good to you go for it. It's a good dog! 6/10 for me. Cheese "fish" waffle. Surprisingly tasty. 8/10

Yelp
A newly opened spot for Korean cuisine that I finally had the opportunity to try. The menu was clean and easy to navigate; there is a service button near the window if you have any questions or wanted to place an order. The owner was very friendly and personable. He really put an effort to get to know his customers. I found out he was from LA, where he brought over food influences from K-Town. I ordered the sweet and spicy pork bowl, which came with a perfect balance of fresh vegetables, kimchi, pork, and purple rice. They also threw in a complimentary taiyaki! For the price, I thought it was a great value for the portion I received. Although the sweet and spicy pork bowl was filling enough, I was intrigued by their hotdogs so I ordered the Korea Town dog meal as well. Who knew grilled kimchi and onions with melted cheese worked so well in a hot dog? Such great comfort food. The meal was paired with fries and a selection of drinks - they even had Korean drinks! I also wanted to try their take on chicken and waffles - taiyaki style. The chicken was seasoned and breaded quite well, very flavorful. The only downside was that the taiyaki became a little soft and soggy by the time I finished my other food orders. Overall, great tasting Korean food to fill the void that Portland lacks. I will definitely be back to try their other menu items and support this starting business!

Yelp
So yummy and worth the drive from Beaverton. Glad we tried it again! Tonight it wasn't crowded so we ordered at the window and had our hot food fast. The owner was very kind and made our favorite hot dog, Koreatown, and had the cheese and reeces pieces taiyaki, the fish shaped waffles with yummy ingredients. Thank you for a delicious snack on the run! We will be back!

Yelp
This was on my list of places to try via DoorDash but they were closed for all orders so my nephew came through & picked it up for me. Soo good! Got the Oreo & Red Bean Taiyakis & the Chicken & Waffle Taiyaki with maple syrup. The "KFC" batter was great & one of the better ones I've had. Need to recreate this at home now!

Harrison B.

Yelp
Chicken and waffle taiyaki (regular and spicy) were both 10/10! Excellent service, quick and friendly turnaround. Quite the bang for your buck!! Will be returning to try literally everything. Outside seating only, on comfortable covered benches! Both sunny and shady options available. Wheelchair accessible

Yelp
I got the ribeye Bulgogi and it was amazing! I added the fried egg! This taste so good! I will definitely order from here again! Great flavor!!

Yelp
Right out of the gate, 5 stars for the food. The Korean Dog is singularly the best hot dog I've ever had! Cheesy, Spicy, Savory... all with an amazing hot dog with a perfect snap underneath it all! We also had a selection of taiyaki. Generally, I'm not a fan of these because I've had bad experiences with red bean paste... but here...oh, an amazing array of non-traditional stuffings from cheese to oreo to reeses...WOW! Hands down the food here is the star and the man grinding it out in the back is killing it! Fantastic job well done! I usually incorporate service into my final rating for a restaurant. However, with the industry aflame with labor issues, demand being at an all-time high, especially with a hot new restaurant and just seasonal fervor... I'm going to relax my usual practice because the food was that amazing, and I'm certain that Yelps' recommendation of this restaurant as a Hot and Upcoming (how I found out about it) drove new business into a restaurant that was already struggling with keeping up. This place popped up a few days ago, and being that my family is half Korean, and I've spent some time eating street food in Seoul... we are always interested in various takes on Korean Street Food. We had a very full calendar that day and it was getting late but when I realized we were passing through this area, I knew we just had to stop by for a late snack. However, we walked into an issue being had between a Grub Hub driver and the young man working the window. Then we were told that the only way we could order was if we did it online. I'm sorry, but I don't understand the online ordering craze...I mean I understand not wanting to leave my house and having food delivered... but why? All you get is barely warm, soggy food instead of hot and crispy food the way the chef/cook intended it to be eaten... and the business suffers because all of the 3rd party delivery groups take a cut of the profits. Now, I'm not familiar with all of the various apps because of this, and I'm being told that despite a fully capable body at the window that you want to give preference to this system? A system that takes money out of your pocket? A system that I am trying to buck by actually coming to your business because I want a better quality product. I'm not taking it home, I am eating it in my car because I want it hot and fresh. Despite the fact that you could have taken my order in less than 2-3 minutes, we acquiesced and tried to order twice...on two different phones (that is 4 times we tried)... and failed, partly due to our ignorance and partly due to a crappy cell signal that would not allow us to submit the order before timing out. After 10 minutes of standing in the cold and failing at submitting our order, my party was ready to give up and just go elsewhere... but I really wanted to try the food and in an act of desperation, I knocked on the window and asked for them to just take my order. It may have come off as aggressive but my intention was to double check and see if they wanted our business before we left. If i had left, there was little chance i would have come back. The guy at the window took our order in less than 3 minutes... we were given a buzzer and sent back to the warm confines of our car. Easy solution, and the business owner keeps more of his profit, and I don't have a coronary over having to use an app to order. Now, I realize that Grubhub, Doordash, and others saved the restaurant industry during covid... but we are past that now and as much as there will always be people relying on those services...a customer at your window is akin to having a bird in the hand, being worth two in the bush. I've already braved traffic and cold weather to get here... I'm not asking to get put ahead of everyone that has already ordered from their couch but at least take my order because I will better appreciate hot and fresh better than the guy who knows degradation will happen because it spends 20 minutes in a strangers car. Thank you for taking care of us and making it right. Thank you for amazing food. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Yelp
I ordered the steak bowl, it was seasoned perfectly, the portion size was good and I felt like I had just eaten a healthy meal, not the gross feeling you get sometimes with fried foods. The only negative was the cucumbers in the dish became soggy from the steam.

Erika M.

Yelp
Has been on my list for a while and finally checked it out today. Ordered an assortment of bbung-eo ppang (taiyaki)- the traditional red bean paste and two fusion flavors, a cheese and an oreo. The red bean was yummy and not too sweet just how I like it. And the oreo surprised me by how it went so well with the bbungeo ppang batter. Cheese was pretty good. I like bolder flavors though, so I was hoping for a sharper cheese. Could be just me though! We also tried their interpretation of chicken and waffle- spicy of course! It was delicious and the chicken was crispy, sauce flavorful, and fresh tasting. Really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back to try the other offerings, especially the dduk kalbi bowl (nice to have some variety from the staples like bulgogi and kalbi). So happy to have a much needed option for Korean food close by!

Fernanda H.

Yelp
Tried the sweet and spicy pork today! It was delicious. :) I do prefer less rice and more of the other components (not sure if there is more rice than before), but overall, really yummy!! :) will be back!

Michelle F.

Yelp
Pretty good! We had the red bean and cheese pastries and both were really great, especially cheese. The tofu bowl I was mixed on -- the tofu was fried absolutely perfectly and the red sauce was very good, but the rest of the rice and steamed vegetable had little flavor (they both seemed unseasoned, maybe the meat bowls have more sauces?) and I would have liked more kimchi. Would love to see them add in more flavor to that bowl in the future bc the quality was very good generally and the things that had more seasoning were very good. The hot dog my partner got was also very good, though we might order without cheese next time since the kimchi was the best part of the toppings and the cheese kind of overpowered it.

Kristin F.

Yelp
Best service ever. My friend and I went once just for the taiyaki, and the guy gave us like 5 extra it was so kind. And THEN we went back like a month later (ordered more taiyaki) and he recognized us and did the same thing Shoutout to the taiyaki man!! We have never ordered anything other than taiyaki but we really appreciated his generosity.

Hojin L.

Yelp
As a recent transplant from LA, I'm always on the hunt for amazing Korean food. Red Sweet Korean Cuisine hits the spot in every way possible. Tried the Kalbi burger and chicken tender bowl...I was very impressed by both. This will be my go to spot for great Korean food with a twist.

Miranda O.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Garlic pepper pork bowl and ribeye bowl were fantastic. Staff was friendly and the food was excellent! The fish pastries were filled with red bean and Nutella. This place is so gooood.

Mag S.

Yelp
Very yummy and fresh bowls but also some great Korean junk food like the chicken and waffles.

Sung S.

Yelp
We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu and it was absolutely delicious! Each dish was spectacular and left us wanting more. The service was wonderful and we will definitely be coming back.

Michael F.

Yelp
Repeat customers and we are going to be back frequently! We love this spot. The bowls are great (favorite so far is the garlic pepper one, especially with a bit of extra veggies), the taiyaki are really good too. Love the red sweet sauce (the chicken and waffle dish, especially with the red sauce, is DELIGHTFUL). Really friendly service and I hope they do well here because I love this spot and I wanna come back all the time. So glad it's pretty close to my apartment!

Harmit M.

Yelp
New business but very tasty and extremely friendly service. Really generous portions. Will recommend very highly.

Jackie U.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken tender rice bowl. The only thing I'd suggest is if the bowls can have more meat or a combination option along with more veggies because there is more rice than anything else in the bowl. The taiyakis are so good!

Spring W.

Yelp
Yummy and affordable. We got a free fish shaped cake stuffed with fried Oreo cookies!

Ashley G.

Yelp
Still coming back for the Nutella Taiyaki and duk kalbi bowl, my favorites! Love this place!

Jen M.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Came here for my sister's birthday with the family and there was something for everyone. Be sure to try the spicy chicken and Taiyaki. It's super good!

Marq C.

Yelp
this place sucks overpriced for a small portion. koba grill is wayyy better if u want good food

Nicolas G.

Yelp
Great food and the guy will really try to get everybody great food even if he sells out of stuff (which bu the way does often). I call ahead sometimes to see if something is fresh and this guy ALWAYS delivers !!!

Dan L.

Yelp
Tried the ultimate fries. Delicious! The flavors and textures meshed very well. The staff were also very kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond and offered us free drinks for being one of their very first customers. Great food. Great service. Would gladly come again.

Alex D.

Yelp
Love this place! Owner and staff remember me by name after third time there and treat all costumers like family. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Food is amazing and nutritious I come here virtually everyday, super affordable as well. Would recommend 10/10

Christine L.

Yelp
Loved the size and quality of their bowls. I had the garlic pepper pork belly. I could wish for more meat and sauce, but unique purple rice and fresh ingredients make up for it. The freshly made taiyaki is a treat and I love their filling choices. I am looking forward to trying the chicken and taiyaki (their take on chicken and waffles) soon!
