In the past, when I've looked at menus and beers available, it's not something I would have driven almost an hour away to try out. I happened to be in the area for another event and thought I'd check it out. I sat outside and enjoyed the sun by the fire pits. Watched the train and people go by. My server was Davis, and he was very attentive and informative. I got the BLT and sub-d garlic green beans for the fries. I asked for no mayo and if ranch or honey mustard were possible. When it came out, it had a little dressing cup of each. The bacon was cooked prefect and plentiful. Thick slice of tomato and a mini wedge of lettuce. Green beans were sautéed perfectly. I'm not an IPA person, and while there were a few, there were plenty of sours, ciders, porters, lagers, and pilsner to try. I opted for the self pour option. You get a card and can pour as little or much as you want. After 24 oz, you have to check in, and they reactivate your card. This is normal for places with the self-service taps.

Very cool place! Neat murals on the walls and unique experience with the beer. Food was great and servers are on top of it. Great outdoor vibe with corn hole and firepits. Parking is kinda limited but worth the walk if you need to.

Today was me and my boyfriend first time here , downtown is pretty dead on Monday and we were happy to find this place open before we went to the lake with our dogs . I really like that the restaurant is dog friendly and I was super happy when they told us they have a dog park with tables , we moved to the park with our 3 dogs and we were able to enjoy our dinner we also got them a bowl of food to share, I think it's a great idea to have an area for dogs and to have them served as well . I can't remember our waitress name but she wears an Italian chili pepper necklace she's super nice and did a great job and was really welcoming. Our dogs were super happy, we will definitely be back with our dogs for another fun date night ! Thank you !

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our Go-To Spot for Years! We’ve been going to Red Top Brewhouse for years, and it just keeps getting better! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and on point — they make you feel like part of the family every time you walk in. The food is consistently amazing, and we have to say it — their wings are the BEST! They are sauced just right and absolutely packed with flavor. The rest of the menu does not disappoint either! The drinks are excellent, with a great selection of craft beers and cocktails to match any taste. It’s a place you can bring the whole family — clean, comfortable, and family-friendly. If you haven’t checked out the rooftop area, it’s a must! It’s perfect for private events or just relaxing with friends to watch your favorite sports team! Red Top Brewhouse never disappoints — that’s why we keep coming back year after year!

We went for lunch with some friends & our kiddos most recently, but I’ve been a couple times for dinner prior to that day, & it’s always been a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is fun & welcoming. The food has always been delicious, fresh, & flavorful despite me trying something different each visit. Even our kids enjoyed their meals enough to clear their plates (which isn’t always like them)! The service has been consistently efficient, friendly, attentive, & genuinely kind. We love supporting local businesses, & this one absolutely deserves the recognition. Highly recommend Red Top Brewhouse for anyone looking for a great meal in a fun, relaxed, friendly setting. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Unfortunately this will be our last time coming here. The food was barely warm when it was delivered to our table. Our friend ordered tomato soup and received what looks like pasta sauce. We used to love coming here and it has just gone down hill. It’s so sad. This place used to be our favorite spot and now it’s been ruined. Really hope they can turn it around unfortunately we will not be back to witness it.

Google
Absolutely love this place! The food is always great and so is the variety of beers on tap. The tap wall is definitely a unique concept and you can try multiple beers. Service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is what I like best especially the outdoor space. Pro tip, grab a cider and sit around the firepit during the cooler months

Google
I've never been in before, hearing poor reviews from peers about how it was managed. Well... NEW management (maybe new owner?) has made a HUGE difference. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Full cocktail bar with a nice menu. Will definitely be a regular! Highly recommend a trip, whether passing through, live here, or just have to drive. Play cornhole outside or sit by a fire pit Great place!

Yelp
First time here after a long MTB ride at Allatoona Creek Park. Really cool building and set up. I really like the way you get beer here. Essentially you give them a credit card, they scan it and you get a pour card. Go to the taps, and basically pay by the ounce so it's really easy to try any or everything they have. Great concept. Also ate while we were there. Food took quite a long time to come up but it was really tasty. I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries. It was awesome. For beers, I had the iron Hill Trail Hazy IPA which was pretty good but the beer that stole the show was the Mastodon Sickle And Peace Pale Ale - New England Hazy. Fabulous beer. Cool vibe inside and out, solid menu offerings and nice beer list along with bar drinks as well. Definitely give this place a thumbs up.

Yelp
To clarify a few previous reviews. Yes, if you drop your Pour Card in the box when you leave, then yes, you will be charged a mandatory 20%, but you can checkout with a hostess if you prefer - it does state that at the check in station. Regarding the dogs not on leash.. geeze.. it's clearly marked as a Dog Park, this is located basically behind the bins across the other side of the car park, but it's a nice area!!.. it is not in the area of the patio or general seating and dining. There are dog in the outside seating and dining areas, but they are all leashed or sat on laps. 4 stars because I didn't try the food, although it smells delicious!! And the rooftop patio has no shade or fans, and the cushions have seen better days!!

Angie B.

Yelp
Disappointed! We have been to Red Top Brewhouse many times and we have always been happy with the food. It was so nice to enjoy delicious food at a brewery. Something has changed. Yesterday's experience was completely horrible. Food was cold, dry, overcooked and somewhat tasteless. Service was equally bad. This was a "go-to" restaurant in Acworth. No longer.

Alyssa S.

Yelp
We were grotesquely underwhelmed when we came on a Thursday night. There is a standard 20% gratuity added. You pour and serve your own beers. That's an odd gratuity when they don't serve you anything. The Pedro beer was 'vinegar' as described by someone in our group. The facility was less than 50% full, and the kitchen was unable to serve us, and they were out of most of their food at 7 pm. I can appreciate being short staffed, but being out of everything on the menu but four items at 7 pm on Thursday.... Interesting. The vibe and space are nice. But animals are not required to be kept in leash. So prepare yourself for irresponsible dog owners.

Yelp
This place was great a couple of years ago but has taken a turn. The food was cold and the beer was warm. We waited 45 minutes for pretzels and an hour a half for buffalo chicken wraps. It was not very busy...The staff removed our table number markers for food as they believed we had already been served. Very disappointed.

Yelp
What a great place to spend time with family and friends on a Sunday, OTP. I met up with some folks at Logan Park and walked over to Red Top passed the train tracks on a beautiful day in Acworth. Red Top offers plenty of space, indoor and outdoor, with amazing food and a great beer selection. I was impressed by the NE IPA which goes by Iron Hill Trail Hazy 6.3% ABV. It drinks well and has decent fruity notes but doesn't pack an overwhelming punch like some of the more modern hazy beers. There is plenty of options on the beer menu and if you think the keg popped on the self serve station it's likely that you aren't pouring correctly. Place the card on the reader and leave it there. Be the bartender you were meant to be. I discovered an awesome brunch scene with grits, French toast, and flavorful fried chicken. You can't go wrong here. I had a chance to try the bread sticks and was blown away by how buttery and soft they were. The gourmet mustard pairs well over the cheese dipping sauce. Definitely recommend Red Top if you are passing through or wanting to escape from the city for a day for some warm, welcoming townie vibes.

Yelp
I've been eyeballing this place for a couple months now. They'll check your ID upon entry, stamp you then give you a red top card for all food & drinks (you'll pay at the front - where you were ID'ed at). We sat at the bar. Was immediately offered the drink menu as well as lunch/dinner menu. Skipped the apps went straight for entrées & drinks. After receiving our drinks & meals. The blackened chicken pasta. My husband and I were iffy w/ the chicken I received. It looked as if the inside wasn't fully cooked. We dissected a couple pieces. The center on some were slightly pink. Other pieces were fully cooked (the outer pieces). Ultimately, I decided to take this Togo - since I was unable to finish the meal. I know, you're asking, why take it home? To dissect the meal some more. 100%, the center was undercooked. In the trash it went. Onto service. The service was subpar. After we got our drinks & meals. We were never asked if there was anything else we needed. If the food was ok. Etc. she only came back to us when we stopped eating & drinking & needed Togo boxes. Aside from food and service. I personally like the restaurant/venue itself. 2 levels (inside & outside) & a tiny dog park/play area. Little fire pit w/ ample chairs around. Do I see myself coming back? Sure - in a group setting w/ friends and our pups, outside by the fire w/ drinks. Do I see myself eating here again? I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance, so possibly..

Yelp
Looking for a place that's more than just a where one goes to grab a drink? Here it is. We've been here from the beginning. This place has evolved from a brewery to a place friends come to celebrate birthdays, watch football, enjoy live talent and compete in trivia while getting a beer and making friends. The owner and wife had a vision. A place for neighbors to forget their troubles, enjoy food made by a chef who is an artist and keeps the menu fresh. Where you can quench your thirst with a Red Top craft beer, glass of wine, adult slushy or sweet tea. The employees are part of the family and you ( no matter if you were born in Acworth Ga or Abergavenny, Wales) are welcome.

Yelp
You can find Red Top Brewhouse at 4637 S Main St Acworth, GA 30101 - this is the block between Maple and Park Streets right on Main - I'm not sure if there was a building here previously but the existing taproom appears to be all new construction. Parking sucks a bit right at the brewery however there's a lot across the street and down about a block if the brewery lot is full. The interior is industrial with concrete floors with many tables, brick and wood, bar signs and what you might find in a BBQ restaurant - there's a bar for drinks expanding on the beer selection - there appears to be a lot of staff on hand. As a brewpub the focus is about half on beer and half on food - the menu reminds me a bit of an old-school fern-and-brass restaurant like a Ruby Tuesdays. There's a fairly large event space upstairs that may make this place an ideal location for a large party - hint hint. I managed to sample some appetizers and try out the pour-your-own system - you're issued a card which you swipe and pay by the ounce - similar to Pour if you've every been to any of those locations (I've visited the one along the Atlanta Beltline on a number of occasions). The appetizers include staples like wings and nachos but extend into BBQ favorites like fried pickles and Mac and Cheese (their version has pork belly). There's tacos and bowls for lighter fare and Burgers, Sandwiches and Fish and Chips if you're coming as a dinner destination. For food we tried the following (most of these items came from a specials list and aren't on the regular menu): * Salmon Chips with dijon cream sauce, capers and Lemon Zest - good salmon flavors, hard to go wrong with this. * Salad with fresh raspberries, blueberries, strawberries topped with apple chip, goat cheese and strawberry vinaigrette - perfect salad, the fruit was well balanced to the tangy vinaigrette. * Steak and Potato marinated in Honey Honey Saison, soy; served with potato puree and sauteed kale - this was fan-sliced on the potato puree - I think the portion could have been double the size but the added dessert compensated (may have been the intent) * House-made Creme Brulee - pretty standard, been a while since I've seen one so we split and were satisfied. For drink we tried: * Mix Tape Side 9: Blueberry Pomegranate Sour 4/5 - Blueberry Pomegranate edition of our popular series of Berliner Weisse. * Iron Hill Trail Hazy IPA 4.1/5 - Pretty decent and well crafted NEIPA with juicy citrusy body, finishing dry, well balanced and slightly bitter with a hoppy nose. * Mercy Risin' Double IPA 3.7/5 - Pretty classic double West Coast style IPA, slightly sweet malty backbone with bitter hops throughout, finishing piney resinous and bitter. * Red Top Red Fruited Sour 3.5/5 - As fruited sours go this was a bit too tart for my tastes, so much so that theme fruit flavors were overcome by the acidity. Drinkable, but I wouldn't order another glass. * Frederiksted RIS 3.7/5 - I consider this more an old school Russian Imperial with opaque body and big roast flavors, the rum barrel added very little for me other than some lingering booziness. I thought the service pretty decent - I went up to the bar and it took a while to get someone to notice me - being able to swipe the card at the taps helps a lot - I'd recommend any beer aficianado to go that route.

Yelp
Be prepared for chaos if you want to order food or drinks. It's utter insanity. Step 1. Go to podium, give a credit card (automatically draft your card for $25). Step 2. Go to next podium across the room to order your food. You will be given a beeper when food is ready. Step 3. If you just want water and a piece of lemon you go to the kitchen area for the water, no ice, then to the bar for the lemon. By now I'm exhausted. Step 4. Buzzer goes off. Go pick up my own food. Ordered the grouper plate. Grouper was dry, Brussel sprouts were cold but tasty, and under seasoned rice. Blahhhhhh. Step 5. Check out, ho back to podium step 1 or to step 2 spot. "BEWARE" just dropping your card in the box they with automatically add a 20% tip. FOR WHAT...I did all the work. I asked for an actual receipt and glad I did. They added a $10 Sangria to my bill. I don't drink. Had to wait to get that removed. It was bingo night. That was fun and glad I went. Next time I'll eat at home before I go. It's too much work and then they want a TIP Hilarious and ballsy if you ask me.

Sam M.

Yelp
Food was really good. Ambiance was perfect for a chill afternoon. 100% will go back. FYI this is not your normal setup for ordering or paying(this did not bother me or my significant).

Jeremy B.

Yelp
A great spot hidden out here in Acworth. It's like some of the breweries I've visited in DC, Charleston, & off of the ATL beltline. Very cool spot for the burbs. We enjoyed all of the dishes we tried, from the blackened salmon pasta dish to the extra crispy fried chicken fingers. It's a spot with ample TVs , an upper/lower area, with plenty of outdoor patio space, and some fire pits.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Cool concept with the pay by the ounce beer on the wall. If they would elevate the menu this place could be next-level! It's pretty standard bar food done well for a bar. I could see the place packing out on game night due to the number and size of TVs playing all the games. Fish n chips were good - a little over cooked. Queso burger was solid. Soup was blah

Chris R.

Yelp
Service here is absolutely TERRIBLE. I'll put these in bullet points so it's easier to read. - ignored by the manager on more than one occasion (short girl, brown hair) - waited entirely way too long for glasses - checkout process took over ten minutes - they expect you to tip when in reality they do nothing, I pour my own drinks, why would I tip? - food is terrible, fish smelled rotten Save yourself time and go somewhere else. This place will be gone in a couple of years, I guarantee it.

Alexis A.

Yelp
Sometimes a review just needs to be simple and to the point, just like this brewery. Very clean, quick and friendly staff, ample seating options, great selection of beers both local and house brewed, DOG FRIENDLY outdoors with their own dog park, amazing food pairing options! Late to review this place, for ive been a few times now. Thoroughly enjoy my experience every time! Great place to invite friends and chill. Beware: your tab will get up there with the self serve beer pours! Lol but thankfully you can put a maximum, or else they'll cut you off around 32 oz. Ordered food both times and was always impressed with service speed, food quality and taste. Their hummus was a but oily and the celery could look better, but that would be my only criticism. CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THEIR FISH AND CHIPS OR CHICKEN TENDERS yummmy, drooling now

Rylee Y.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years. Hadn't been in a few months so went tonight. It was tasteless. All of it. We even think they had the wrong beer keg connected to the incorrect tap. They removed so many of the good items from the menu and left just mediocre stuff. The eggs rolls in the sampler were fried to death and the buffalo sauce tastes like Taco Bell sauce with cream cheese. The ranch dressing was all dill and nothing else. The pretzel sticks were hard as a rock and the cheese looked to have been sitting under the warmer for an hour. Just disappointed. Will give maybe one more shot until we will probably never go back.

K G.

Yelp
This place has a cool concept-pour your own draft, and the ambiance is great. However the food is sub par at best. Ordered the shrimp & grits and my daughter ordered the Mexican Trio special. The shrimp and grits were bland-honestly could have come from the frozen section at Publix. The Mexican Trio was advertised as two sliders, two tacos, and guacamole. The guac portion was not even enough to be applied to the two tacos. The tacos were mainly slaw. The guac should not be advertised as a signature component of a trio. Like, it was totally a little dipping sauce size. I'd estimate it as 1.5 tablespoons. Almost feels as if the establishment is cutting corners to remain afloat. The bathroom soap dispensers did not function, or at least my advanced degrees did not qualify me to figure them out. A positive-the mac and cheese was the bomb. Should have gone to Applebees...

Sarah Knepp O.

Yelp
Drinks are just ok food is absolutely terrible (used to be good but burger was barely edible). They charge you 20% gratuity when the customer goes to the counter to order and pickup food and drinks. I climbed the steps 7 times and paid them for it. Definitely not like it was when it opened.

Adam T.

Yelp
The service is a little bit slow for food, but the beers are solid and ambience is great. The bowls are really good and the fried pickles are amazing. Definitely a place to go with friends, as it's been pretty quiet every time I've been there.

Kandus J.

Yelp
Really cool concept at this brewery! It's a self-serving kinda thing and you can use a card to keep track of how much you drink! It's a really fun place and the setting is very chill. The food is damn good, just a little on the greedy side though. Still great!!

Kelsi H.

Yelp
Only getting 4 stars because the parking situation wasn't great. There aren't any signs directing you to parking where you won't get towed, either. For a newbie this was tough. But I found a little lot about a block down the road. We came for trivia! They do it every Monday night. The speakers are only audible for those inside, so make sure you get there AT LEAST 30 min early to grab a seat or you won't be able to hear and play along. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with balsamic. The balsamic isn't a vinaigrette like I thought it's be, and it was warm, also not the best for me personally. I like cold dressings :) But I also got the grilled lemon pepper wings for the table. The tips were a little burnt, but I like that so it was perfect for me! You get this little card at the front that keeps track of your "tab" (with drinks and with food) and they have a wall where you pour your own tap! I'm down for any place that has Sangria on tap! And this was some good, sweet sangria, too. Ladies, this bathroom is TOP NOTCH! Free lady supplies if you need any, nothing gross on the floors, and no weird smells. I definitely loved this place my first time there and will be back :)

Austin H.

Yelp
Look, the whole "pour your own beer" concept sounds cool, but the truth is that you go out to receive a service on top of your food. You don't receive a service here, you get an automatic 20% gratuity and mediocre food.

Meredith D.

Yelp
Beers and drinks were good. Deducting stars because we ordered the fried pickles to snack on and it was the smallest portion ever! Nowhere near worth the $9 price. Especially when all the other portions of food are generous. I'd come back, but the pickles are a rip off.

Margaret E.

Yelp
We could no longer recommend due to very poor service and lack of cleanliness. Entire bar top appeared dirty with crumbs, male bartender was slow to acknowledge us when sitting at bar and once having to get his attention to order food; he didn't even bring us plates, napkins & eating utensils which we then had to ask for. So we then asked staff walking by for utensils. Staff brought one set when there were two of us! Really? When walking upstairs to see seating options for possible future family outing there; we found tables everywhere covered with dirty plates, cups and trash with no one up there clearing the tables although upstairs was open. Building looks great from the street but appears to be poorly managed. We will not return. In addition; a 20% gratuity is added to one's bill when ordering food at the counter and when getting your own beer from the beer wall. We were there on a Sat afternoon; late March. Food was fine but again; service and cleanliness was a bust.

Mike G.

Yelp
Was looking forward to checking this place out, unfortunately it was a disaster. Walked in the door and immediately a Q&A began. Put a wristband on and took my Amex and gave me a "beer card" it's a self service bar ok fine got it. Sat down although many staff were having fun at the bar couldn't get waited on. Finally an employee came over and we were told go to the bar to order and we can go pick food up when it's ready. Poorly managed at best. They changed me $1.02 to sit at the table!!! They said oh we've never seen that happen but didn't do anything so we walked out. The best part about this learning never to go back. Thankful 1885 a great restaurant was close by.

George D.

Yelp
What a neat place. Not gonna lie, parking is tough. Not enough spaces for the volume of people. But, worth the walk. This is one of those places where you pour your own beer. Insert your card and get as many ounces as you want in your glass. I like that they require a new glass with each pour. No worries, there are always clean glasses waiting. We didn't get any food so I'll have to check that out next time. Highly recommend.

Greta Z.

Yelp
I still really like it here, but I've been a couple of more times, and it does have a few flaws. No one seems to know where you can get full service vs. where you must go to the counter. Who am I tipping if I do all the running around? Upstairs was comfortable but offered no attention from wait staff. The mac & cheese was good, but the pork belly should be seared to caramelize then added across the top; this is just white fatty chunks stirred in. The chicken fingers are very good, fries only okay. I like the fried pickles pretty well. The pretzel sticks were decent, especially good with the mustard, not the beer cheese. My husband gets frustrated with the beer wall because he doesn't know how to get the perfect pour without too much foam or wasted space. Maybe they need a bartender giving lessons. On the whole, I still love the vibe, the options, and most of the food is pretty good.

Tom V.

Yelp
Wow!! if you want the worlds worst pub food go to Red Top Brewhouse in Acworth. Al the food was dry and cold and never order the 8oz Ribeye steak, its not a Ribeye. It is a $3 flat steak. Damn I ordered a GnT and got changed for tonic. WTF. I feel sorry for the population of Acworth

Melissa R.

Yelp
There were a bunch of people here so I would not recommend if you're weary of being around crowds. We were just leaving as a party of 20 was entering the restaurant and I kind of had a little freak out . But other than that.. great food and great beer! All of the wait staff was awesome and the hostess was super sweet.

Michael A.

Yelp
The inside and outside is nice, the food is subpar barfood. The ordering option does not make any sense, for someone sitting upstairs you have to go downstairs and order then come back downstairs to get your food, just get an app or allow ordering online like any other place from this decade. Also, the beer is good, but the beer upstairs is warm.

William J.

Yelp
The good things I have to say about this place is the food is good and there are lots of different beers to sample. The negatives are, you have to serve yourself, food and drinks. The place was also quite noisy when I went there. I'm not likely to go back.

Carter J.

Yelp
Awesome concept. Food was great. Drinks were great. Staff was really helpful as a first timer. Can't recommend highly enough.

Maximilian Y.

Yelp
Just had lunch here and I'll definitely be back again! Ordered the fried chicken sandwich with the Mac and cheese and it hit the spot. Flavorful and portion sizes were perfect. My only critique of the food would be I prefer spicy chicken sandwiches, but not a deal breaker. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing with great style and atmosphere. The team and service was exceptional. Kelsie was very kind and welcoming, she was a great host. My only negative would be the explanation of the cost for using the drinks on tap system. Initially I thought there was a cover charge to use the taps, then found out it's more like a gas station. Again, this isn't a deal breaker, it would have helped to have a better understanding of how everything works upfront. All in all, had a great time and will be back again.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Brand new, just opened! We went during the soft opening so we didn't actually get to try their beer. We had some other local guest beers. I think the space is really nice, we sat outside, stood really, there were a lot of people there and because of covid most were outside. It was a cool experience and I can't wait until we can get back and try the beer! I bet it will be good!

Bob M.

Yelp
Good choice of beers. The food is not the best. I HATE the tip method. You wait in line to order food and than they call you to pick up your own food. Minimal "service" but their payment method takes a 20% tip.

Yelp
Updating the Review... Beware, they auto charge your credit card 20%, even when you've asked them not to (because you've covered a tip in cash) So, my last review for this place was kind of short, and I didn't explain how things worked here, because it's a bit different... So when you eat/drink at RedTop, they use those 'transit cards' - Well, not sure what they call it... but you give them your credit card to ding... and in exchange they give you a card that you'll use to place all your purchases upon. I guess they do this because they have one of those rather large wine/beer tap walls. So guests basically go fetch their own wine or beer from taps on this wall. I guess it's a good concept if you want to do a lot of taste testing or you're simply very thirsty and you plan to do a lot of drinking and you can't be bothered waiting for the wait staff to bring it to you... I guess. Or maybe this type of establishment wants to remove the liability of consumers pounding too much alcohol... don't know? Seems to be popular concept for a college campus, beach - vacation, etc. But Anyway... So for us, it's an awkward system...(especially now that we don't trust their system to not auto over charge a tip.) I don't think that there is an option to not use a credit card at this place. You walk in and trade your credit card info for the 'transit-card' The last time we ate there, it was rather crowded inside, and it was a nice day outside... so we naturally asked if they were serving outside. So this is another awkward step in the process... we had to go to a counter (under some tshirts on the patio-side wall) and order the food and any other drinks (soft drinks, liquor type drinks). We were given a buzzer and I went to the tap wall and picked out a beverage there. And Husband was given a drink ticket to go to the bar and fetch his drink. We met on the patio... sat down for a few minutes... but then had to go to yet another counter at the back next to the kitchen to fetch the food. Once we ate/finished we asked someone how we were supposed to check out... They told us that if we tossed the transit-card into a wooden collection bin on the hostess stand on the way out, that we would be charged an automatic 20% tip charge on top of the cards balance for food and drinks. If you wanted to control the tip amount then you needed to stand in line at the hostess stand and cash out with the hostess in a traditional fill in the tip amount type receipt/form. We chose the later route, filling in 0 at the tip line and then tipped in cash. As you can probably imagine by now, there's way too much fetching on our part to ever 'donate' a 20% tip for service at this place. And! ... When I thanked Rob, for speaking with us about the meal, and mentioned that we'd be back... I didn't think that we'd be back two times just trying to fix the credit card charge. They charged us an auto charge on our credit card for a tip that was automatically set at 20%... even though!!! We had taken the steps to ring out the traditional way... and luckily had copies of the receipts to show to eventually get the extra charge back. So... way too many hoops and fetching for us! It's got a cute patio, lots of TV's and a decent atmosphere, decent food, decent booze... but if we can't pay another way, and have an actual full service experience... this place just isn't for us.

Yelp
July 11, 2020 Driving through Acworth on our way to a different brewery I was thinking how nice it would be if this quaint little brick town had one. Low and behold my prayers were answered. A brand spanking new brewery opening their doors in a "pre-opening" but will have a "Soft-opening" and "Grand Opening"on August 1st and September 12th. Today, locals were greeted with free tours of the would-be restaurant which will feature pretty cool menu options to pair with their own beer options. They were selling tickets, $15 for three beers, a steal, and had canned as well as draft beer options, but their own beer was not yet available for sale. I chose the Lundi IPA and Scofflaw IPA. I understand their own beer will feature an IPA, DIPA, Honey Saison, and a cherry lager. The restaurant will feature a short list of menu items and a home made Icecreme. Sounds very exciting. Named after the local Red Top mountains the building is painted in a nice red color and housed in a modern new construction with a second floor porch. The brewery will also be available for private events. We can't wait to come back again when they open up for the grand opening day.

Yelp
Cool new(Er) spot in downtown acworth! There is a fire pit and corn hole outside. The inside is large with an upstairs area, as well. The upstairs has room for private events. You pour your own beer and the machines show you much it cost per ounce. It's definitely pricey, which is why I'm rating 4 stars. The concept is cool and I love the addition to downtown acworth but it's more expensive than I want to pay. I paid $7 for one 12 ounce beer.

Yelp
The drinks an ambiance is great. The outdoor patio areas are very clean and nice and the interior is spacious, comfortable, very chic. This location makes a great date spot for drinks... but be warned, the food is terrible for the price. I got the pretzel sticks and 3 tacos. The pretzel sticks came out dry and stale as if it was sitting under a heat lamp for several hours. The tacos were about the same. $15 for lackluster tacos, definitely not worth it. My friends ordered chicken tenders and fries. The "tenders" were a misnomer, they were pretty much gigantic fried chicken breasts. Overall, this a great and cool place for drinks but definitely not for food.

Yelp
Food was good, service was good, but the manager accused me of being drunk and required me to be reestablished using their new pour system. I had one beer, what is different about me or other patrons that had several brews. I have no tolerance for bigotry and prejudice that results in discrimination. I will not return to any establishment that discriminates against anyone.

Yelp
Ok, this is a must read if you're new coming to this brewery. 3 stars is as low as I go for breweries BUT read on to understand. This location is certainly fairly new. Located in Acworth, you'll find that parking is limited here and will more than likely have to park elsewhere (be weary of the tow-a-away zones. You will be confused if you don't continue reading. The entrance to the place is in the back, facing away from the street. AND, you will need to check in at the front counter to grab your beer card. Yes, you heard me correctly! Basically, you pour your own beer here from the taps in the wall and the card is inserted above the tap to track your pours. This card has everything on it, including your food order. A server will not assist you until you have your card (they tie your debit/credit card with that card too). So, got it? Don't be an idiot and wander up to the bar like we did bc they'll need the card too. Ok, once you got your card, you can plop your bottom anywhere. Tons and tons and tons of seating options! Outdoor lounge chairs by a fire pit, outdoor benches, outdoor tables, indoor bar, indoor tables, indoor couches, upstairs couches, upstairs tables, upstairs bar, upstairs indoor/outdoor seating. There are games you can play outdoors (giant connect four, cornhole) and they might even have bingo going on inside. The taps upstairs on the wall are double sided, so make sure to swing to the backside for the rest. Also, see a server on how to correctly pour your beer so you don't waste your own money (the jury is out on how I feel about this ... convenience factor is HIGH plus fast but you really can waste money). They shouldn't charge for a quick pour to taste IMO. Let's rate the beer first. I give it a 2/5 stars. I honestly didn't like anything I tried, aside from the Allagash. Even that just wasn't what I expected. The hazy ipa lacked that fruity hit. The sours (Gose) were decent. Even the tagalong Girl Scout cookie one was just meh. I HATE saying this. But my biggest issue with this place is NOT LABELING THE TYPE OF BEER ON ALL YOUR TAPS! I know my likes and if your tap doesn't say if it's an ale, hefe, stout, Pilsner, porter, sour, ipa, etc then how am I supposed to know what to try? Maybe there was a beer here I would've liked had I been able to see the type. The Together Through Life beer was the one I tried walking out bc my gf was like "what is that?" It certainly tasted like a Hefeweizen and would've been my first choice. But it wasn't labeled and I was already leaving. Sigh, please update that for us craft beer drinkers! A plus: they do have beers from other breweries. I saw pontoon and 3 taverns, plus they have bud light on tap for the lame-o's (which is a good thing). The food, a 4/5. Certainly way above par for a brewery. I joked with my gf about how this place must have been founded by two chefs. The ordering is unique: you have two signs on your table that you flip btw when you need help and when you're good, which I liked. We got the Brussels, shepherds pie, vegan burger, and a salad. The Brussels were "rock yo mouth" good. My burger was actually pretty good too, along with the fries. They got the food right here. Ambiance and atmosphere is great here, no qualms there. It is pretty loud though. Service was good! Overall, I like it but still just not happy with the beers I tried. I'd come back again, but hoping they update their taps with the beer type. One major flaw too - people can slip up and leave their card in the wall! We saw it happen and returned the card to the owner but what happens when someone with bad intentions takes it? You guys have some work to do here on problem solving ...

Yelp
This brewery is like a gas station for beer! You open a tab and are given a temporary card where you can insert it into different taps to get different beers. You pay by the ounce and watch your total tab increase as your drink fills. Drinks average $0.4 - $0.65 per ounce. It's a unique and quick system to getting drinks! I recommend the honey flavored beer, it has a unique flavor. There's an upstairs seating area that opens at 5pm, appetizers, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's two fire pits with about 10 seats around each of them. I will definitely be returning! The service was great too!

Yelp
I really want to like this place. The atmosphere is actually a nice touch in Acworth. Their setup is ALL self service. You seat yourself. You have to go to a counter to order (think McDonalds). You have to get your own food. You have to get your own beer. You have to get your own wine. You have to go to a register to check out (think cracker barrel). And yet... They default to a 20% tip! For what?! This is arrogance at its best. Oh... and due to the "law" they cut you off after 2 beers. Why would you create a self-serve restaurant when you're still charging fill serve prices and assuming everyone will tip you 20%. I guess there are enough people who like this... Not for me... I tried giving this place two chances. The food is surprising a notch about mediocre.

Yelp
The building is awesome, great location and nicely built. I had a problem with a few things though. The bartender I had told me I couldn't sit at the bar, no parties or anything, he said it wasn't reserved but we couldn't sit there. When you go in, they spiwe your credit card and they give you a card to get whatever you want, self- serve essentially, which I am ok with, what I am not ok with is the fact that everything is expensive and self-serve. Some of the cheapest beers are more expensive than going to the bar next door, getting served and tipping. The food is expensive and weak portions, which you get yourself as well. On the way out you drop your card in a box and they close it out for you, in which a mandatory 20% tip is applied. So not only do you do all the work, you have to tip everyone for doing nothing. Do yourself a favor and go to a real bar, don't waste money here.

Yelp
Good for food, great beer, but most important fantastic staff. Don't miss this hidden gem of a brew pub.

Yelp
Great selection of beer, tasty food and fast service. Great place to come watch the game or just grab a quick bite in brew.

Yelp
Nope. Don't do it. In my very wide experience of visiting brewhouses across the country as well as restaurants in general, I would have to encourage you not to go here. Please. First, the beer. Self serve. That was kinda cool but super expensive as it charges you per 0.1 oz and there is no room for error. And it's still expensive at about $8/pint. And pray a Samaritan returns your beer card to you when you leave it in the tap. Next, the food. Yuk. Don't bother. I would get more descriptive but my descriptions make the general manager uncomfortable. He tells me that their chefs are human beings that work very hard on honing their craft. I would say they need more training or the menu needs adjustment. Lastly, this place is a) seat yourself, b) order yourself, c) get your food yourself, d) pour your own beers, and when you check out at the end they want to tack on a LUDICROUS 20% tip. For what exactly I'd like to know. I'll go back when they change the menu, the service and the desperate and selfish tipping policy.

Yelp
My 2nd review of Red Top BH (first about 9 mos. prior). Still good, but a significant change in setup. First though, we split the crab dip with chips & pretzel sticks & then also split a burger/fries. Very good. The big tap-wall is still like last time - help yourself but remember it's charging you by the ounce, as everyone notes, so be careful. The biggest change is that ordering food is now also self serve. In other words, you go up to the counter to order, get your pager & then go pick up the food when ready instead of table service. Ok, fine, but be prepared as you close out your tab - they'll ask "is the 20% tip okay?" Impulsively & not expecting, most likely say "sure," as I did. But that was an extra $6 on my bill for no direct service. I don't mind tipping well for good service. And while everyone encountered was pleasant, there was no "service" to give. I went & ordered, I went & picked up food, I went to get all drinks. I just don't get the tip & next time will be that grumpy old guy that says no. It's disappointing that they put customers in this position and it will weigh on my eagerness to return soon.

Yelp
I really loved this place. You get a card when you come in and all your beer and food gets added to that card. When you're done, you turn it back in and the tip (20%) is automatically added unless you specify differently. I think it's really convenient! I also like that you can just get a half glass if you want, and you're charged by the ounce of pour. An issue comes up if you have no idea how to pour, but there are signs up to try and explain it. Also, there was some air in the line during one of my pours, ao it was all foam and not sure how that charge ended up. It'd probably be nicer if the glasses were chilled! The only small issue was that on a date, I got a card for our food and he got a card for our drinks, and after a few it cut us off since we were drinking for two on one card. I'm sure there's a way around it, but we had gotten our fill by that point. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
The beers are awful. We ordered good old hamburgers and fries, the fries were so covered in salt we hardly ate any, had to send them back and ask for fries with no salt. Half a glass of sangria which was nothing but cool aid and your looking at $8.95. My husband looked forward to sampling and finding a beer he liked and after a few test, he settled for one but didn't enjoy it at all. The staff was super helpful, the noise level by the time we left was incredible. I would never go back, poor choice in my opinion.
