10 Best Craft Beer Spots in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"The Red Truck Beer Company is a slick operation, from its aluminum-and-wood color scheme, to its branding: an old red truck as a nostalgic mascot. A stainless-steel countertop and a veritable backline of gleaming beer vats also imbue the space with a kind of clinical beauty. Taps changed regularly; at last count, there were 14 different beers. From the light and fresh Elderberry Saison to the high-alcohol Totality Imperial Stout (at 8.5% ABV—sip slowly!), this place has all the bases covered. To the side of the tasting room there’s a small stage, so expect local solo acts to pull their fan base in on Friday and Saturday nights. In summer, however, things get serious when Red Truck hosts its Truck Stop Concert Series, which in the past has featured everything from country music singer Jon Pardi to Australian electronica darlings Cut Copy. During these events, a large stage is set up, and Red Truck becomes an outdoor concert hall—or at least their parking lot does." - Guy Saddy

I was on one of my spur-of-the-moment long wandering walks on a very warm sunny Friday afternoon for my vitamin D intake. It was just after noon when I was on the False Creek Seawall approaching Science. I needed lunch and a cold drink and I remembered a friend had recommended RTB to me. The GPS on my phone soon promptly took me there. It was after the lunch rush by the time I got there. It wasn’t very busy and I was able to find a table on the patio after I had placed the order. I took my Road Trip Classic Lager with me to the table while I waited for my corned beef hash with fried eggs. The lager was crisp, light and refreshing and it went down quickly but I made sure there would be enough left with my lunch. My over easy eggs on the hash was fried perfectly with brown edges while the yolks were still running to allow the creamy cholesterol goodness seep down to the potatoes and corned beef pieces underneath. The hash was seasoned perfectly with no spices overpowering the potatoes and corned beef pieces. I had a very nice lunch in a somewhat industrial surroundings. Other than a transport truck backing in to the loading dock next to the patio when I was there, everything else seemed to have come to a standstill affording the patrons a lazy Friday afternoon.

Huge thanks to Red Truck Beer for hosting an unforgettable Beer & Burger Night fundraiser! The atmosphere was amazing, the staff went above and beyond, and the support for our cause was incredible. We raised $3,000 for SickKids Foundation thanks to their generosity and the amazing community that showed up. Can’t recommend this place enough for great food, great beer, and even better people.

Delicious and relaxing afternoon. Tried a flight which was well priced. Paloma and Stone Sour were my favourite. Food was simple but also delicious. We ordered the brisket quesadilla, fish tacos, and the buffalo fries. Will definitely be back for more! =) P.S. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6pm

The BC Cancer Redevelopment Team recently hosted our holiday party in the upstairs Mezzanine and Tasting Room at Red Truck, and it was absolutely fantastic! We had a group of 60, and everyone was impressed by the excellent food and beer, service, and the welcoming atmosphere. We ordered seven truckloads of hot dogs, burgers, fries, fried pickles, wings, and salad — and everything was really tasty. From the moment we began planning, the team at Red Truck went above and beyond to help us with our event. A special shoutout to Jack, the manager, whose responsiveness and attention to detail made the entire planning process effortless. Thank you Red Truck for creating such a memorable experience — we couldn't have asked for a better venue!

Good food, good prices, lovely staff and amazing beer. What more could you ask for? Had a lunch date with a friend and it was a great experience.

Went for brunch. We had the Hobo banquet and Asian chicken salad. The salad was saucy. Chicken on top was decent. It was tasty. A bit salty. Hobo banquet was good. Just like any potato’s, eggs, and toast.

Google
An easy place to drop by for a beer and tasty pub food. It's clean and has always had consistent friendly service. Nice patio and indoor space that has games playing too. Only drawback was the lettuce used in the Cobb salad was made with cheap iceberg lettuce. The salad was $17, would expect at least romaine however the fried chicken was very well done with a tasty light batter.

We had an amazing experience partnering with Red Truck for our Burger & Beers fundraiser in support of Special Olympics Vancouver! Their generosity and community spirit truly blew us away. They not only let us host our event at their awesome brewery, but also provided beer and burger tickets that we could sell to raise funds for our local athletes. The burgers were absolutely delicious, and the beers were full of flavor and hit the spot perfectly. A massive shoutout to Jack, Gabby, and Justin – you three were incredible to work with! From the planning stages to event day, your support and enthusiasm made everything run smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for better partners. Thank you, Red Truck, for being champions of community and inclusion. Can’t wait to work together again!

Yelp
Happy Hour tacos were great at $3.50 each. Was still hungry so got the Truckers Poutine. A+ for crispy fries but not enough gravy, explaining the crispy fries. Asked for more but there was an extra charge. Not sure I really want to come back - it's super loud inside and hard to hear people in conversation even on the patio.

Yelp
We recently trekked up to the big city for an afternoon of shopping and fun, and were craving a cold one and some lunch. So we headed over to Red Truck mid-afternoon for a couple of beers. The dude enjoyed their IPA a lot, and thought the burger was just okay. I loved my Mexican-style lager (missing a lime though...so sad) and the Chicago-style dog was pretty authentic, too. I felt the hot dog was way overpriced. The vibe of this place is pretty modern and cool, with cozy seating and a friendly staff. We, sadly, did not arrive late enough for happy hour, but by the looks of it there are some great deals to be had if you go a bit later in the day!

Yelp
Juicy burger with all the expected fixings. It's a bit pricey for a place where you have to serve yourself but that's Vancouver! I enjoyed the band that wasn't too loud.

Yelp
One of Vancouver's top breweries, this spot has it all! We're utterly obsessed, and it's not just about the impressive beer selection - the food is amazing too! We keep coming back for more, again and again.

Yelp
Red Truck is a great place to hang with a group of friends. Yes, they definitely get busy but they have such a great space indoors and a nice covered balcony outside. Additionally, they have on site parking or street parking available. Also very easy to bike to! They always have about 12-16 beers on tap so you're likely to find something that catches your eye and an extensive food menu. We love their hot dogs. They have so many different options. Their fish tacos are pretty great with the fish being extra crispy. I've seen their buttered crispy sandwiches that also seem really appealing but I never seem to be that hungry. When I head here for dinner, that might be a great option.

Yelp
I was a little skeptical of the food here, as I was expecting average food with beer being the highlight, but I was pleasantly surprised. I got the BLT, which was HUGE, packed with lots of fresh veggies & bacon, and very nice. I could only eat half of it, had to take the rest home. My friend had the garlic fries which used a ton of real garlic, they said they tasted good. Enjoyed with a Cherry Sour which was refreshing - I will go for the flight of beers next time. They have items with nuts on their menu (I have a peanut allergy) but after checking, they said the kitchen could easily accommodate my allergy which was great. Most of the seating is on high stools, and you have to pay & order at the front before you eat. Bathrooms are down several stairs, so not wheelchair friendly.

Yelp
My first time dining at Red Truck Beer with my hubby and brothers after work. Recommended by hubby who goes there with his co-workers. We were meeting my hubby at Red Truck Beer. My brother drove me and when we rolled into the parking lot I didn't expect it's where craft beer is brewed. My hubby did the ordering as he was there first with garlic fries and wings. You need to order at the counter and pay first. You'll get a number to take to your table which helps the server to bring your order to the correct table. I had the Fish Sandwich which had beer battered cod, lettuce, tomatoe and siriracha mayo with side salad (gotta had something healthy right?) :). It was a large sandwich and flavourful. With the crunch from the beer battered cod and freshness from vegetables this was a great start to a weekend. My brothers ordered Smoke Brisket Sandwich and Sante Fe Eggs so I can't really comment other than they enjoyed their meal. Great times at Red Truck Beer! I can't have alcohol but still had a great time at Red Truck Beer!

Yelp
Was in the area to meet up for a gathering. A huge brewing facilities and some bar seating and outdoor places to grab a bite. Already started with garlic fries and wings. Ordered at the counter and took a number to our table. Had the Smoke Brisket Sandwich ($19) which was piled with brisket, pickles, Red Truck BBQ sauce, ranch slow and mayo.

Yelp
Such amazing chicken wings the Asian style ones are my favourite but all their food is delicious and they have a great selection of craft beer made in house this place has never disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great atmosphere here and probably one of the better places for food within a brewery. Love that their beer prices aren't through the roof like some other craft places so we can enjoy more than a couple without breaking the bank. The patio is the perfect spot (and dog friendly!!) to spend an afternoon or three.

Yelp
Top notch customers on my route years ago, lots of smiles and nice boss. Kerwin Maude

Yelp
I'm assuming people come here for the beer, because the food seems like an afterthought. I ordered the brisket sandwich against my better judgment. In my experience, Vancouverites don't know what good BBQ is. I was already suspicious when the menu told me it was thinly-sliced brisket. Sliced brisket should be thick-sliced if it's reheated on a flat-top or it will be dry. Which this was. I usually like a little char on my BBQ, but this was mostly charred. The menu says it's smoked for 8 hours, but I could only taste char. On top of this, there was hardly an BBQ sauce on the brisket or mayo in the slaw. More dryness. The fatty brisket and the bread was the only thing that saved this sandwich from being a total loss. So I can't say it was horrible. I just wouldn't come back for that item. For 20 bucks I expected more. But I've come to expect this from breweries.

Yelp
bartenders are super fun and accommodating! great beer! Alex was a pleasure to meet. love the rustic vibe

Yelp
This is a good local place for beer. They have a variety to choose from on tap, including rotating taps and mainstay ones. You can purchase pints with food in the restaurant, fill growlers to go or grab some cans from their in house liquor store. I have not had any food here, but the beer I've had has been very good. I really like their blackberry bourbon ale and their Seas the Day Pacific Ale. They always have options. If you want a souvenir, they also sell shirts, glasses, key chains, etc in their shop. I like the decor on the outside & inside, but it can get quite noisy inside, especially if there's a band or a booked group. Overall, it's worth stopping by.

Bog T.

Yelp
I bought an 8 pack of Red Truck's lager today. The tabs on the first two cans failed miserably and I had to use the tuna can opener to release the contents. Half of which ended up on the kitchen counter. So, "I wish you good luck Red Truck but your piss poor cans aren't worth a fuck!" Cheers, The man known as Bogtrotter
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
I stopped in on a Saturday night, found the red truck focused decor interesting, but the music was so loud I just couldn't stay and order anything. I refuse to yell over loud music to place an order or to have a conversation with anyone. I might stop in again and have another go when music isn't blasting so loudly.

Rodrigo F.

Yelp
Awesome beers: they offer 13 different beers on tap. Great atmosphere, nice service, but you have to ask for your stuff for yourself and pay instantly at the cashier. I had a smoked brisket sandwich that was not tasty: brisket seemed too over cooked. 5 str for the beers, 3 for the food. Price is ok.

Yelp
My wife and I had two days in Vancouver before and Alaskan cruise and my sister is living here now. They have a HUGE craft beer explosion going on in their neighborhood, so my soon to be brother-in-law took us on a walking beer tour. Red Truck is large! It had a ton of people hanging out and drinking beer. We got a flight of their beers. All of them were really great! I would highly recommend a stop here. The servers were great and everyone had lots of laughs. Good times!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Brewery with lots of space and seating, tasty food and music! We had some great beers. They have some you can buy and take away if you find something that you like. Great food options! I had a Chicago hot dog and fries which was perfect for having a couple of beers. Very tasty and high quality. They had a great musician playing. It was lively and super fun.
google avatar

Yelp
Of all of the craft breweries in Vancouver, this is definitely one of them. Think of Red Truck as the Blue Light of Vancouver beer.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Is it a sunny day and you're looking for a patio in which to enjoy some craft beers?! If so, Red Truck is a great option. Though it was packed on a recent Friday around 4pm (it was a holiday), we managed to snag a table on the covered outdoor patio just as another group got up to leave. We had the afternoon to relax and really enjoyed our hour+ on the patio. My partner has been several times before and most often gets the scrambled egg tacos--sounded different to me, but I was super happy with the choice! Light, but also filling. We also tried the Rabbi hotdog, which has pastrami, sauerkraut, fried onions, and mustard on top. I don't eat a lot of hot dogs, but boy oh boy, if I did this would be the #1. Yummmmmy. The only downside is that the only non-beer option is one of two types of wine (one white and one red). There aren't any cider options. I know, I know, this is a brewery. But! If you go to many of the other breweries in the area, there are cider options for those among us who can't manage too much gluten. All in all, a fun time for all!
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
I am SO into this place! The beer, the food, the service, the space... everything is fantastic! There are lots of veggie options to choose from and THEY SERVE BREAKFAST ALL DAMN DAY! The swag on the way in is also pretty rad if you like to buy shirts with your beers. The tire sink in the bathroom was a serious highlight for me. Is that weird? Whatever. It's the little things y'all. GO HERE NOW.

Yelp
[K.I.S.S.] Easy as it is, try the Raspberry Ale. It is different, slightly fruity, refreshing and delicious. (and I'm not into fruity stuff) VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

Yelp
Can't believe I've been passing by this place for who knows how long, without knowing its existence. It's honestly like an oasis in an otherwise completely barren (food wise) landscape. It almost feels like one is in another city. This place is so built up that I can see it being used in movies. Parking is available in the nice large lot in front. The place is themed like a truck stop, though it keeps reminding me of a professional baseball jersey because of the bright red and white theme. The patio is nice and brightly lit, with umbrellas for blocking out the sun. This place is probably packed during the summer months. The inside is mostly large picnic benches, and is also brightly lit. From here, one can see all that shiny brewing equipment through large windows. Staff were friendly and helpful, when I didn't know which beers to try. Most of their beers were on the hoppy side. The one that stuck out for me was the Belgian Trippel. This one will get you messed in a hurry. Not for everyone, but it has some intense flavour. I will be back to try some of the food.
google avatar

Abir M.

Yelp
Great place to hang out. Good food selection. Good beer, though its not my first choice when it comes to breweries in the nearby vicinity. But I wanted to try something new. Ps the chicken schnitzel 'sandwich' is more burger than sandwich. The staff is .
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Full disclosure I am nearly totally colour blind and so the "red" in the truck was lost on me but I will tell you the beer is pretty pretty pretty good. Go on a Monday and enjoy the $15 hot dog beer. The sun on the patio was delightful for the friends that I came with but I do have a sensitivity to the sun that causes aches in my knees. I rated this 4 stars and not 5 because the food can be a bit pricey for what you're getting, but it is still very tasty. You won't get TIRED of the lavatories as the water spews from a decommissioned gas nozzle. I wonder if this safe? No seriously is this safe. Red truck loves to put on concerts and they're lots of fun if you do not have hyper-sensitive ear-oma as I do.

Yelp
We had the BEST time here.... Heather's cousin Carl had tipped us off that this was one of his favorite spots in Vancouver when he visits, so trusting his opinion we put this on our "must try "list. Very cool spot in an industrial park, thanks to GPS we found this no problem. We were greeted at the front by an awesome fella from the U.K. and chatted a few minutes with him before grabbing a seat. Our bartender was from the east coast and Heather and her immediately started a conversation about Halifax. It's that kind of place.. .the staff is amazing and conversation doesn't seem forced. We spent our stay talking beer, Canada and the U.K. with these two and couldn't have enjoyed our mid afternoon more. I decided to try the Midnight Run Dark Lager and to be honest got stuck on it and didn't try anything else. I loved this beer... it reminded me of the Yellowhead Brewing Black Lager that they discontinued earlier this year that was a personal favorite of mine. Three pints late I could have sat there all day drinking this but alas we had evening plans and had to keep it under control. Heather moved around the beer menu a bit and enjoyed the IPA and the Raspberry Ale. We ordered the Buffalo Fries as a snack while we were imbibing and chatting... they were awesome. I love blue cheese and hot sauce, so on french fries they were delicious. Generous with the blue cheese too! The menu looked awesome, will grab lunch here next time. Good beer, good people, cool spot. My kind of place. Cheers, Red Truck Beer... I love my ball cap I bought on the way out!

Yelp
I'm a fan but not for the beer or food,.. neither to me are anything to write home about (but fine for standard pub patio food), I'm just excited about a cool space like this existing in a cool area with a nice patio and open garage door. Great space, some serious money went into this and to make it even better they have been using the parking lot as a concert space, Despite a valiant effort, they have too few bike parking spaces as this is right on the bike path and people were locked to eachother. If you remember Carlos and Buds on Pacific,.. this place to me is sort of the modern day equivalent.

Yelp
Good Lord, this place really lives up to its image. Red truck Beer Company delivers the goods including food. I just had a BlackBerry Ale they have concocted, it was outstanding!!! Then I ordered the fried chicken Cobb salad, with chilled ingredients, very tasty fried chicken breast and more blue cheese Chunks than I have ever had on a salad before!! it was very well done and the staff is fun and friendly and it's a cool environment in this old industrial area. Apparently their famous for the french fries, I resisted, but don't you!
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
This is a really fun place to come and hang with friends or to watch a game. They have a very casual set up. Order your food/drink, grab your number, and find a vacant seat. We had gone on a weekend and they had ax throwing outside. We wanted to try it but they told us they were about to take everything down. I ordered the Chicago hot dog, which comes with fries and an order of chili. Both were really good. My favorite were the fries. They were really fresh. On weekends they have live bands that play around 7pm.
google avatar

Hungry Kitt Y.

Yelp
A unique venue in an unusual location. Nestled in an industrial area, it's a pleasant surprise to come across this cheerfully retro restaurant. This is the perfect place for beer lovers as they let you pick whatever you want for your flights. Paired with classic burgers and you have a satisfying night out with friends. I personally enjoyed the patio which gets just the right amount of sun.

Yelp
ive always been a fan of this place and when i visited again recently...found out they had the new summer ale. ordered a pint and they surprisingly dropped a slice of orange inside the glass. ahhhhh looks good ...lol first sip....sooo refreshing! i was very impressed. immediately ordered the ever famous garlic fries to go with my beer... pipping hot out of the fryer with freshly chopped garlic and seasoned with just a pinch of salt...amazing combo long story short, it was such a good way to spend the afternoon with some friends... such simple joys....cheers!
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST Chicago style dog I have had outside of Chicago! The staff here is terrific - friendly, accommodating and professional and the overall vibe is just fun! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Made the trek to Red Truck on a mini tour of craft breweries in the area. Nice selection of beers as one would expect from a craft brewery. The IPA (6.3% and I think around 50 IBU) had the balance I like of strong hop flavour but not overpowering. I noted they have a patio which I imagine would be great in the summer. Great to have another craft brewery option in the area but the location is not the most convenient...they do have a parking lot for those that wish to drive. We did not sample the food so can not comment on it.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Worst customer service experience of the year, maybe my life. Don't bother. Far better options in close proximity. We were ignored while waiting to be seated, once seated we were put at a table for two that was literally 2 feet away from another table for two. When asked to be moved to a table with more privacy we were told that that section wasn't open yet... but the 10 open spots were 6 feet away?? Open yet??? We immediately left, out of respect to the couple we were seated next to and who were obviously as uncomfortable as we were. FYI Red Truck, the customer is always right.
google avatar

Katrina S.

Yelp
The night we went may have been slightly ambitious for an evening patio but it was still a great time full of great beer! They had a blueberry (maybe blackberry?) bourbon ale that was absolutely perfect! My friend ordered a BLT and man, they mean business with their bacon!! I wasn't unsatisfied with the chicken wings I ordered, but I had mad food envy with the amount of bacon my buddy had on his sandwich. I know what to order next time! We went on a Friday night and it was definitely poppin in there. It also happened to be a night of live music! I don't know what the singer's name was but he did a great cover of wonderwall that got all of the feels responding. Make sure to check out the bathrooms as well, because beer, obviously, but they are also very truck themed and worth seeing

Yelp
Truly, this place is a hidden gem. Tucked away just slightly east of Olympic village, red truck is situated on a bike route and has a lot of bike racks to accommodate "those types" #motorbikerider Ample parking is available for people with drivers licenses. The menu at the truck stop has THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS IN THE CITY! No joke. Try the Asian BBQ style. Burgers here are fire grilled and have great char and juicy insides. They have fresh nice tomatos and red onions, but hey, that's not my jam. Hence the pic of my burger isn't incredible. No word of a lie, I'd eat this bacon cheeseburger like 2 or 3 times a week sometimes. I've been here for a while ;) Beer. Let's just say red truck is a growing company that has come a long way from its north van roots 12 years ago. I love all the beers. You will too. There are high balls available as well. Just don't drink my Bushmills #seriousface
google avatar

Trevor J.

Yelp
Two stars for the patio, venue and social atmosphere, zero for everything else. They don't carry a single option for cider drinkers and the food is made out of stale regret. I was so hungry when I arrived, I ate what was brought to me and felt gross for the rest of the day. DO NOT EAT HERE. Hard pass on future visits.

Coty W.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. Love this place. Best beer and food and it's right down the road from me!!

Chere Michelle C.

Yelp
I come here with work mates a fair bit for lunch and a brew. We've been more than satisfied every time! I've had the veggie burger (super sloppy and has hummus.) It's good but sometimes I want just a regular ketchup/mustard/tomato/lettuce kinda deal. They're so busy I'm not that comfortable asking for it to be altered. The Double Decker grilled cheese is RIDICULOUSLY good. So greasy cheesey gooey good. Perfect with a beer. Buffalo wings are a group fave and usually share those. Bathrooms are fun with the huge tire sink! Definitely keeping the theme all through the restaurant. At the moment I'm loving the summer blonde ale and the BlackBerry bourbon. Yum.

Yelp
Long in the works, Red Truck Brewery's big, shiny, and brand new facilities are finally fully open. Centred in the still up and coming industrial area (historically known as Brewery Creek) that currently meets at the triple nexus of Strathcona, Mount Pleasant, and Olympic Village, the American style diner meets craft brewpub hybrid looks very bright and appealing right off the bat. Not quite the craft brewing tasting room we're now accustomed to, the counter service eatery is heavy on the truck stop diner theme with its shipping container walls and light industrial decor. The tire and pump washroom sink is a particularly nice touch. The lengthy food menu is intriguing with a deep variety of options from hot dogs to egg foo yung and "blue plate specials". I munched on a Saigon hot dog (with barbecue pork belly, slaw, and Sriracha mayo) and found it quite tasty with a mild kick to it. It's a messy snack but fairly pleasing as far as hot dogs go. As for the beer, I was already fairly very familiar with Red Truck's ubiquitous reliable lineup of beers from over the years. I drank four of their brews: the Red Truck Ale, India Session Ale, Belgian Blonde (above), and VCBW Campfire Kolsh. All were reliably solid and refreshing in their stark tastes. The Blonde was easily my favourite with its crisp, smooth flavours. The Ale is a mild, appealing, and an easy drinking standard. I think the snack options are a little more appealing and a better deal than the more substantial meal items. The garlic fries in particular were a perfect treat paired with your beer and an easy pick for three bucks. I found the ISA (above) also rather mild yet quite refreshing. The Kolsh was a crisp tasting German style pale lager (Kölsch). The beers are good and along the safer more broadly pleasing varieties (on a bigger scale) than other local craft breweries. I was tempted to try the soft serve ice cream (with a chocolate chip cookie) and was pleased by the satisfying texture of the dessert as it cooled me down. Red Truck already feels like a winning neighbourhood style brewpub with its retro nostalgic twist, small patio, and industrial aesthetic. Everything fits the overall theme and brand they're going for as it fairly successfully recreates the modern diner experience in a brewery setting.

Yelp
**4 stars for the beer, location and patio** **3 stars for the food** **3.5 stars overall** Did a drive-by to see if Red Truck was open and was pleasantly surprised that they were...shhh! This week is their soft opening and I have a feeling it's going to be a popular stop on most afficionados' brewery tours along the Main street/Brewery Creek corridor. Good selection of beers. My faves were the ISA, campfire kolsch and the blonde. Maybe because I was feeling summery but more because they are solid drinkable beers. I made the mistake of ordering the fancier food like fish tacos and they were bland and overdone as well as the pork belly bites which were overbreaded and again overdone, but the hot dogs which are steamed in lager and chili cheese fries were decent. The patio hasn't been set up yet but it looks very promising with the capacity for 27 seats looking out on an awesome industrial landscape. Bottom line: fun decor - it's like a Hot Wheels garage for adults, promising patio, drinkable beers and good location with lots of parking. Just stick to the dogs and fries.

Yelp
If they don't win best bathroom design of the year award, I'll get one made for them. Check out the photos. Enough said. I've been eyeing their opening and alas the garage is now open, though not officially, yet. They are still keeping things hush hush while they work out any kinks I guess. Located in the historic brewery creek, this brewery is huge relative to any craft brewery. Serious money was invested into this operation. They have ample parking (big plus) and a patio out front (wasn't open when I went). They are actually hosting a summer concert series in their parking lot. Worth checking out. You walk into their store with growler station and off the shelf bottles. Turn left and you're into the tasting room/diner. The industrial design is simple and somewhat American looking. Willy Wonka-like windows behind the bar so you can beer into the massive brewing tanks. All the tables are communal with stools (might actually force people to mingle) and there is no table service. You place beer/food orders at the bar and they give you a # flag. We started with a 'Craftmaster 4' which looks like they spent a lot of time designing. No wood here. It's metal and screws. I picked the bottom 4 which aren't available in stores (I think): Kolsch/ISA/Belgium Blonde/Belgium Tripel. As expected I'm still not a fan of Blondes or Belgish for that matter. But the Kolsch and ISA were very tasty. Food wise I tried their beef brisket chilli. Pretty good with a nice level of spice kick (but not spicy). Also had a few hot wings (nicely battered and seasoned). Rest of the menu consisted of hot dogs, all day breakfast/brunch items, burgers, salad, and I forget the rest. The kitchen is actually made out of an old shipping container. Though more mainstream than most craft breweries, all of Red Truck's beers are approachable, easy to drink and taste the the freshest IMO when you buy from stores. Though nothing beats straight from the udder with Growlers. This place will be packed all summer long. Easily.

Yelp
Red Truck Brewery was the last and final brewery my bf and I checked out on a lazy Sunday and it did not disappoint. This brewery opened in May and has a array of beers options and diner type food. They offer blonde, ISA, ale, IPA, Lager, Belgium Tripel and campfire kolsh. Decent prices...4 taster glasses for $7. They have lots of communal seatings and a decent size patio. Plenty of parking and bike racks for the hipsters. PS check out their bathrooms!

Yelp
No problem with the food.. been coming here a long time. This time was slightly different. Ordered a hot dog and was given regular...I thought for sure I got a foot long. (why else would you go there). Perhaps I ordered wrong but that was the end of them talking to me. Whispers and laughing from across the room... nice, guys. That's the kind of joint it is, all Vancouver, where you need to be super cool to get good service.
