Red Wasabi Sushi

First time coming and it's definitely not my last. I got the bento two item combo with the teriyaki salmon and Spicy tuna. (This place serves it with avocado - I'm not a big fan of it, but I made the error of not asking. Next time I have to remember to swap the avocado for cucumbers.) it came with rice, miso soup and salad. The dressing was a yummy orange ginger dressing (not that white creamy dressing that some other sushi restaurants choose) for a two item combo it's $18.99. (3 item combo $20.99. also certain items add a bit more to the price like if you get like Salmon or Chicken Kats) The very lovely young lady who served me was very nice and attentive. They also told me that the salmon piece they gave me was smaller than what they usually serve so they gave me the extra piece separate. I really appreciate their honesty. Since it's my first time, they could have just left it as it was. The food is really yummy and I highly recommend it if you are in the area (or like me passing by and traffic was very heavy so I stopped by.) * Also, they give you a 10% discount if you pay in cash.

3rd time coming here, food is amazing as always. The fish was fresh, the Cajun version of the nigiri was very good too, sweet, umami and a hint of citrus drizzle on the rice/fish. Baked & popcorn lobster rolls were delicious, me and the wife enjoyed the meal, I m surprised it’s not packed here everyday, as all 3 times we came here there was barely any other tables, we will def be coming back.

🤤🤤We came for the sushi, and WOW!!! — it did not disappoint! Every roll was fresh, creative, and full of flavor. The presentation was on point, with vibrant toppings, sauces drizzled just right, and even thoughtful touches like lemon slices & flowers. This is easily some of the best sushi we’ve had in the area. They also offer an all-you-can-eat sushi option, which is incredible given the quality. Each roll tasted handcrafted and unique — not rushed or repetitive like other sushi spots. Service was just as impressive!!!! The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Combined with the stylish Tokyo-inspired decor, it makes for the perfect sushi night out. If you love sushi, this is a place you need to try. We’ll definitely be back for another round!

I came across this place on Google and saw 5 stars. It’s rare to see a perfect score. I of course had to check it out for myself. I had originally gone in on a Friday, with not much time to wait. Very dumb of me to expect a 5 star rated sushi spot to have little to no wait. Unfortunately, I had to leave….BUT …. My daughter and I knew we had to come back. This is why: we glanced over the tables to see the sushi being served and their sushi was delicately presented and generously served. The ambiance was pleasant and the staff was working hard to keep everyone eating. I went back a week later, we were seated, and to my surprise….the owners recognized my daughter and I from the previous week. They actually apologized for me having no choice but to leave. I explained it wasn’t anything they did wrong, I just didn’t allow myself ample time to experience their restaurant appropriately. My daughter and I were extremely pleased with everything. YES!…. Everything. Even big chain restaurants fail to deliver genuine quality food and service this family owed restaurant did. Cisco and his wife (owners) treated us like family. My daughter and I have a new favorite spot. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT. PLEASE bring a great attitude. These people deserve it. You can tell they put blood sweat and tears into this family business.

Sashimi tasted very fresh and delicious! Got the small combo (9 pcs), it was enough to share with my mom. Everything we ordered was very good, the service was very fast as well. Also, the staff was kind! This spot is definitely a hidden gem, and I will be coming back very soon.

Staff was very kind and I was super appreciative of that but honestly the sushi was ok, not that great. Vibes were cool, was there on a Wednesday at noon and it was dead. It's ok and pricing could be better.

Our first time here since last ownership. The place is extremely clean and inviting. The sushi is really good and the sashimi is really fresh. We met the owner and she is very friendly and hospitable. My teenage triplets kept on raving the place. We are coming back for sure. Love it!!!!!!

We came here for the first time for dinner with both kids. The menu selection is solid -- they offer everything you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. While it's not 100% authentic, it's better than many so-called Japanese spots. We ordered a few cooked rolls and a bowl of ramen for the kids, and I had the sashimi combo along with a couple of sashimi rolls. Everything was very decent. The staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly.

Food was good and service was great! The ambiance had a lot of talented art on the walls. The price was great for the portion given.

This place is a must visit if you like high quality all you can eat sushi at a reasonable price. It is located where my old favorite AYCE place used to be years ago in a strip mall off Grand right by the 10 freeway. The restaurant has been beautifully decorated in what I would call Japanese pop art, although I'm sure that's not the correct name for it. We tried several different rolls, including the red wasabi roll, the spicy lobster roll, and the mango avocado roll. All of them were delicious. The fish was fresh, there was just the right balance of rice .I highly recommend the mango avocado roll. It is a breath of fresh air for your mouth! The service is great too, our server Isobella was very helpful in helping us choose a plum sake to go with our meal. We finished up with some green tea ce cream. I will definitely be back.

We have to have our sushi fix and decided to go again. This is my favorite. Seared Salmon and cajun salmon it is so delicious. Will definitely be going here every week from now on.

We came here for the all you can eat sushi. However, our experience wasn't what we expected. The server was very sweet, but the quality of the sushi, especially the raw fish, was not fresh. If you came just for their vegetable and unagi hand rolls or there regular rolls like spider roll or Philadelphia roll, the quality is okay. Unfortunately, we wouldn't come back again I wouldn't recommend a place for those looking for fresh sushi.

1st time here & it was outstanding!!!! I was searching for a new sushi place to try near me & this one popped up so I was intrigued to check it out. Service here is PHENOMENAL; all staff greeted, attended and checked up on us very frequently! I never had an empty glass of water, had all the condiments replenished and was even offered a complimentary green tea ice cream (de-lish) :D Food was SUPER tasty! I ordered the 3-Item House Combo Plate--Gyoza, Spicy Tuna Roll, & Beef Teriyaki. It even came with a salad & miso soup! For just $20.99, I view that as a WIN! ^.^ The STAR of the plate was the Beef Teriyaki, my goodness, it was delectable & SAVORY! The miso soup was the runner up; BEST miso base I've ever tasted! The sushi was definitely great, I can tell it was fresh! The Thai Milk Tea actually tasted like Thai tea which was a PLUS! Other places have them watered down or too milky, but this one was perfect. The atmosphere here was very cute! I loved all the decor and art they had around! The cutest one was the black cat frames eating the cuisine right by the door hehe! Ordering here was super simple and they even offer AYCE. Staff are super helpful, I had a question about ordering and what was good on the menu and was guided step by step! (: Definitely worth a trip to Red Wasabi Sushi! I'll be back for sure! (:

Came here on a recent Sunday evening and ordered the spicy tuna bowl and edamame. The spicy tuna bowl was delicious! I thought both the spicy tuna bowl and edamame portions were very generous. The staff is friendly and the service was fast. Looking forward to coming back!

Service was excellent. Food was good and lots of flavor. I ordered short ribs and they were lukewarm upon arrival. The tempura was also very good. The owner stopped by to our table, was very sweet and friendly. My boyfriend enjoyed the all you can eat sushi.

I'm going to give this place five stars because they were incredibly accommodating with me asking for no rice on a roll. I said they don't even have to make it pretty but they still did. Tastes great and they did a really good job. I'll definitely be coming back. This might be my new go to if they can be that accommodating with the rolls. The walls are really awesome. There is the spectacular mural of Japanese artwork that is purely sharpie marker. Please see photos for samples. Great ambience and excellent service.

Freshness and flavor along with friendly service, this is what's going to keep me coming back to Red Wasabi. The flavors and unique rolls were delicious. The recommendations from the staff were spot on. Even though we were the last ones in the restaurant before closing, we never felt rushed to finish. Amazing-- glad this new sushi spot is here in West Covina!

I'm glad that we tried this new sushi place coz they did not disappoint. Everything was up to our standards. Clean, very friendly staff, plenty of tables good for groups and elbow space, awesome ambiance, parking was an ease and to top all that, presentation and food were flavorable. Not too much sauce on the sushi. Fast service and all the staff were helping each other. We had Lizzy and was very helpful. The menu list was easy to order from. We got there early and was the first customers so we got some complimentary dishes and drinks which were recommended to us and we're delicious. All their dishes were delicious, we ordered 9 dishes and left the joint so satisfied. One more good thing about this joint was everyone wore a smile and constantly checking on us. We were pampered! We're definitely coming back with a bigger group. I'm considering this sushi place our new "go to" restaurant and would highly recommend this place. Come hungry. Job we'll done chef!

My girlfriend and I came here for date night and This place absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was beyond amazing--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight was the garlic chili oil make sure you get the garlic oil!!!!! The environment was not only welcoming but also visually stunning, making the entire experience feel special from the moment we walked in. And the service? Top tier. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. Easily one of the best sushi spots around. Can't wait to come back!

I have eaten here 2x with family already and it never disappoints!! Such a wide variety of yummy rolls and bento box combinations! The AYCE is more affordable than other sushi spots around or they either don't even have AYCE at all...so Red Wasabi Sushi is def my new go to AYCE spot. The servers i've had are always so nice and attentive. The owners are very kind and amazing people and have made the place such a nice environment to eat and enjoy sushi! Uncle Cisco is the best sushi chef ever!

Okay, so my BF and I are huge sushi lovers like, we're always on the hunt for new places to try. We had been to this location back when it was Tokyo Station, but let me tell you... this is a COMPLETELY NEW SPOT with new owners, and it's a total game changer! From the moment we walked in, we could already feel the difference. The vibe was great, the staff was super friendly, and the service was on point. Shoutout to our waitress Isabel she was so sweet and really went out of her way to take care of us. We decided to go for the AYCE (All You Can Eat) option, and WOW it seriously did not disappoint. I started eating before I took some pictures lol The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. One thing I especially loved was I'm a sucker for mango and salmon rolls, and even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it custom for me. That kind of service just made the whole experience even better. We ordered enough to get full on round one (lol), and everything was just so good. You can really tell they care about quality here both in the food and the experience. If you're in or near Covina, this spot is 100% worth checking out. No need to drive all the way to San Dimas anymore this could totally be the new go-to for AYCE sushi in the area. We'll definitely be back and if you're a sushi lover like us, you need to try this place!

My husband and I love Red Wasabi Restaurant!!! Cisco, the owner and sushi chef has been making sushi for years. We have followed him from his other restaurants and are so excited that he is now so close to our home in West Covina. The food and presentation are wonderful. Everything is so fresh and served with generous proportions! Everything we've tried is delicious and the prices are so fair. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and the service is great. We cannot give a better review. We are looking forward to sharing our experience with many of our sushi loving friends! We highly recommend Red Wasabi!

I would eat here everyday if I could . The food is honestly amazing. The whole ambience was very nice and clean. Our server Cossette was very personable and helpful she was great and a delight. My husband and I normally don't order raw sushi but we tried it because the table next to us ordered the all you can eat sushi and when they kept bringing out the order it looked so good so we decided to try one along with our normal order teriyaki salmon and chicken combos with mixed tempura, edamame and shrimp roll. All the food we ordered was amazing definitely will be coming back to try the Ramens and other yummy food. Overall great experience the whole staff and the owners were very friendly nice family restaurant and great price.

Never heard of this spot until I saw it popped for my recommended and my oh my this place is bomb. I used to go to sho sushi in San Dimas but I feel like this place is better. The only downside is they don't offer sashimi for their ayce but other wise everything was delicious and just so fresh. Felt like the fish was so flavorful and fresh. Almost melts in your mouth. The service was awesome as well! We had the pleasure of having Will as our server and he was a nice dude. Took good care of us and was extremely helpful with the menu. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Definitely coming back here again.

The rolls were bomb! especially the baked volcano roll, the hot night roll, and the salmon with cream cheese. The salmon sashimi pieces i would pass, it was too thick of a cut to enjoy it. However, our waiter Will was amazing, and had a great music playlist going, overall he was a vibe. would go again for will and for the rolls!

Tried this spot tonight and went with the AYCE. Kate and Lizzy were super friendly and helped us with all our questions. Our favorites were the garlic edamame, avocado Mango roll, salmon skin roll, and the modified super dragon roll (we had salmon on top instead of eel and used spicy mayo). Everything was delicious! Service was great and you get cash discount too!

YUM!!! This is my second time here within the past two weeks and this is def a hidden gem for AYCE sushi. The quality of the fish was so fresh and had no fishy taste to it at all. This place is fairly new and I was recommended by a friend and this will be one of my go-to spots now. A plus is that all the workers are so kind and helpful, you won't get stuck waiting to be served. The paintings in the restaurant make the place super unique and comforting too.

Avocado and mango roll. This one was on the house and was the best roll even though the other ones were just as great (#3&10 FIRE). The combination of sweet and spicy was perfectly balanced. You can taste the art and love thank you so much! Will 100% be back and bring friends too!

Great ambiance , brought my friends and celebrated a small birthday lunch here and we had the best experience , price is reasonable, staff are friendly and attentive , we ordered the sushi boat and ordered for more sushi roll on the side, fish is fresh and clean ,sushi rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned , the chef is nice and willing to modify our orders with smile , I tried the avocado mango salad with miso dressing and really satiated my palate. Took my parents here for lunch because of the rave reviews and we were not disappointed. We ordered the seaweed salad and tuna tataki appetizers - fresh, well-seasoned (and not over seasoned). We ended up coming here because we were going to go to the Mongolian barbecue place, but it was closed. I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious. The staff was extremely pleasant and it was just a nice meal overall. Also, the prices were not astronomical, so that was also very nice. The only thing I would say is they did come over to our table quite a bit to ask how we were doing and normally this isn't something I would mention, but it was almost every two minutes lol. I think they just wanted to make a good impression which they did! I would recommend the garlic edamame with the sauce on the side. It's so savory and spicy!

Place was so clean and amazing! Came here for Father's Day as my dad loves this place and I can see why! Rolls were all so fresh and high quality I haven't had sushi like this in years! The rolls were affordable too I think the most expensive one we got was $15 which is a steal for the quality and service you get! Our waiter was so kind and attentive and just made you feel so welcomed and the owner is just as kindhearted! Will be coming back again it's worth driving out for!
