My husband and I visited this BBQ spot after seeing it on TikTok. Overall, the food was decent, but not something I’d go out of my way for again. We wanted to sample a little bit of everything, but it’s definitely pricey, so we decided to go with the BBQ Lover’s Combo, which was enough for both of us. I even had leftovers for the next day—my husband didn’t (he finished his, of course!).
The combo included:
* 1/4 lb brisket
* 1/4 lb pulled pork
* 1/4 lb pastrami
* 1/4 lb turkey breast (we swapped this for extra pastrami, which was just one extra slice)
* One house-made sausage link (jalapeño cheddar)
* 1/4 rack of ribs
* Two small sides of our choice and other accompanied sides like coleslaw and pickles
*Baked beans
*Mac and cheese
* Four rolls
The total came out to $72.83 before tax, $77.65 after.
Now for the breakdown:
We **did not** enjoy the pulled pork at all—the smoke flavor was extremely overpowering. I couldn’t even finish it. I really hope they’re not using artificial smoke flavor, because it totally ruined the taste and quality for me.
The rest of the meats were okay, but I found myself reaching for the BBQ sauce to bring out the flavor. While everything was cooked well (not overly greasy, which I appreciated), I felt like the brisket and pulled pork especially could have used more salt or seasoning.
The highlight? **The pastrami and rhe sausage** Absolutely amazing—perfectly seasoned, juicy, tender... I could honestly eat it all day.
As for the sides, they were nothing to rave about. We got baked beans, mac & cheese, garlic pickles, and the mayo-based slaw. Everything was fine, but the best part was making little sandwiches using the rolls, meats, and BBQ sauce. That combo definitely worked well.
This spot was a 50-minute drive from Livingston, NJ, and honestly, I wouldn’t make the trip again just for this food. But if I’m ever in the area, I’d be down to try their sandwiches or other menu items. Overall, the BBQ was okay—not terrible, but not amazing either. That said, it’s definitely better than Abby’s BBQ in NJ, which I find overly greasy and lacking in flavor.
Customer service was solid. I asked a bunch of questions and the young cashier was super helpful and didn’t make me feel like a bother at all, which I appreciated.
