Google
We missed RED WHITE AND QUE. They moved out of Kearny and we haven't gone to their new home until lastweek. I'm happy to report that they still taste the same! Thet have not changed ! It still the best bbq! The service is awesome like when they were in Kearny. The space is bigger which is awesome but it still felt homey like Kearny, if that made sense.

Google
Im glad there's BBQ in this area, especially when the craving hits. Ordered via Uber eats, and the order was correct. The collard greens were okay. The brisket and the ribs weren't tender at all. The bark is decent. I would pass and wait until I return to Texas.

Google
My husband and I both ordered turkey sandwiches. I got Mac and cheese. He got baked beans. You can taste the smokey flavor in the turkey and the beans. The Mac and cheese was creamy and awesome. Red, White and Que can compete with Texas bbq.

Google
Excellent barbeque and well worth the trip. The brisket is juicy and tender and just fatty enough. Pulled pork was pretty good and the sides were a little pricey but also good. I had the mac and cheese. I'd definitely come again if I'm in the area.

Google
From the moment you walk in, the aroma of slow-smoked meats lets you know you’re in for something special. Every bite at this BBQ spot is a smoky, savory masterpiece. The brisket melts in your mouth, the ribs fall off the bone, and the pulled pork is packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned. Not to mention the amazing staff

Google
5 stars across the board! Staff was very friendly and helpful, great menu, good prices, and amazing BBQ! Well worth the drive for some of the best BBQ this side of Texas. Thank you for a great experience!

Google
Pulled pork and brisket were delicious. Big portion of food. So many pickle and pickle flavors. Friendly staff and family style. Would love the try ribs and pastrami next time.

Google
Excellent food. Best BBQ I tried in New Jersey, closest to the BBQ I've tried in Texas. The nicest people, too! Very fair price as well!

Yelp
A couple of Fridays ago, my wife and I stopped here around three in the afternoon. It was not terribly busy and we were greeted by a very friendly counter woman who explained the menu. We ordered a large sampler platter, good for 3-4 people along with a couple of Ted's Teas. We found a table with the roll of paper towels there at the ready. It's low brow, but very clean. Other customers were there enjoying their meals. The tray was brought out along with the sides, plastic ware and paper dishes to use. The tray included pork ribs, cooked perfectly, sliced pastrami, sliced brisket and sliced turkey. All smoked to perfection, the brisket juicy and tender. Juicy smoked sausage with cheddar and jalapeño were next, along with over a cup's worth of pulled pork. The sides were baked beans, yummy with little chunks of pineapple, an unexpected, but pleasant surprise. Mac and cheese was creamy and this was the best Cole slaw I've had in some time (we chose the creamy, not the vinegar based). Rolls and pickles were included. Different sauces are provided depending on your taste. Good barbecue in New Jersey is extremely hard to find. Do not pass go, stop here. Everything cooked to perfection and very tasty. As we were eating, we spoke with another couple who suggested we get the banana pudding. We took an order home along with a chocolate dessert akin to a large whoopie pie. Both were delicious. It's a good thing this shop is not close to us or we would be there much more often (delightedly fattening up).

Yelp
We came for an early dinner. The food was great and the portions were also good. I think of all the things we got, the brisket was best. My boyfriend preferred the ribs. The pork was good, but definitely needed some sauce. Good thing they have plenty of homemade options of varying heat levels. Kearny's Revenge will give you heartburn, but it's worth it. If you're in the mood for barbeque, come here. We'll be back to try more things. Bonus: veterans eat for free. Why wouldn't you support a business that does that?

Yelp
Best BBQ in Jersey I've had so far and possibly one of the best factoring in places highly reviewed in NYC. The ribs, brisket and pulled pork were all amazing. The beautiful smoke ring, the bark, the flavor is just perfection. People are super friendly, staff incredible and Dan and crew are amazing. I catered an order from here and they help you each step of the way and the food came out amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
The customer service was on point and I love the fact they are veteran owned. We got there right when they sold out of ribs. You can smell the smoker when you walk in. The pulled pork and brisket didn't need any kind of sauce and the Mac and cheese was delicious! Well worth the 30 min drive from Bayonne.

Yelp
Service was friendly and quick .. it's a fast casual restaurant .. lots of variety and prices are both fair and reasonable .. had the sampler for 1..the portion says for 1 but could easily be for 2 people ... community, law enforcement and military oriented decor .. seems to be be veteran owned .. which is pretty cool .. the vibe is chill and the food was really good .. tender brisket.. would have preferred if pulled pork didn't come pre seasoned as it changed the flavor of the bbq sauces .. but solid food and I'd come back again when in the area.

Yelp
Ribs were amazing! Brisket was smokey and had good peppery flavor. Pickles green tomatoes were suprisingly good. The bbq sauce is on the sweeter side so baked beans were also a tad too sweet. Ambience is nice and friendly service. Would come back just for the ribs!

Yelp
BBQ up north done RIGHT Huge fan of this spot and arguably the best BBQ spot in New Jersey. Inside there's a decent bit of seating but at dinner time or a weekend afternoon I imagine it'll get packed fast Tons and tons of meat to pick from. Cant recommend the stuffed cheese and jalapeño sausage enough. Brisket and spare ribs are both packed with flavor and fall apart/melt in your mouth, pastrami has great seasoning, and all the meat has phenomenal smoke to it All the sides are bomb. Specifically the potato salad and make sure you grab that banana pudding for dessert

Yelp
To be transparent, I didn't dine in. There are a few supposedly BBQ spots somewhat in the general area, but this place actually does a decent job. Nearly perfect. The brisket in the sandwich was amazingly tender and had a good dry rub to it. A bit fatty here and there, but it was fine. Only negative is they don't provide any sauce by default, not even a house BBQ sauce, which is fairly odd for a BBQ establishment and a bit like shooting your own foot over leaving a great impression. I did take a gamble and bought a little sauce cup of Alabama white and devil's dog spit sauce. The latter was a BBQ sauce with a kick, very good. The former was terrible and too vinegary for my liking. Sadly, the sauces were not well described, so what a waste. I was also disappointed that they do not have an all beef or brisket and turkey combo. Not a porky fan here, unless we mean the cartoon character. Mac & cheese was kind of sad, like out of the box, and also kind of dry. Some of the older pictures made it look good, but they must've changed it years back. Potato salad was surprisingly pretty good, I'd get this again if I ever had a craving. The pickles weren't too shabby either. They don't have a side item meal or combo deal. I also didn't see any corn bread or chili on the menu. They did have banana pudding, which I need to try next time (sadly I had ice cream an hour before my order). The writing on the sandwich wrap also made me smile, so an extra star for the service. Very close to being a perfect BBQ spot!

Yelp
Best Texas BBQ in NJ. Will definitely have to try the beef ribs next time I am there Well worth the ride if you want authentic Texas style BBQ . Service was excellent

Yelp
Had to come try this in person after a little taste that my husband brought home from work. ABSOLUTELY DELISH!! Dan at the register was so helpful to us first timers. Our "hungry eyes" had to order the BBQ Lovers Sampler. Dan also told us the sauces to the right of the counter were the tomato-based sauces and the sauces to the left were the vinegar-based sauces - so many mouth-watering choices!! Inside was a very casual and homey decor and seating. I especially LOVED the pig paper towel holder!

Yelp
I loved the Kearny location. I was highly disappointed in my recent order. The brisket was so dry, Mac n cheese was disappointing. Ugh

Yelp
I can't say enough wonderful things about this spot!! They catered our wedding and we are still getting compliments on how good the food was! We are foodies for sure and when we went to pick out our menu it was so hard to decide what we wanted as EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe and the owners are the best! I wish we lived closer we would probably be there at least once a week! Instead of doing a traditional cake cutting we cut a beef rib... there was a beef chant afterwards.. it was so memorable-highly recommend!!!

Yelp
One of my favorite small businesses in this area. Perhaps the friendliest service I've had at any BBQ restaurant I've been to. This trip we had the brisket and pulled pork, with mac & cheese and the vinegar slaw. Brisket was excellent - perfect amount marbling, good smoke ring; crust perfect mix of seasonings, including the perfect amount of coarse black pepper - the way it should be. Pulled pork was flavorful and moist, without being greasy. Slaw was delicious as was the mac & cheese. Their home made sauces we tried included the espresso based sauce (nice), devils something (right amount of heat) and the Carolina mustard (excellent, tart / sour / sweet - some of the best I've had). All in all - some of the best BBQ I've had, rivaling pits I've been too in NC, TX and MO. They support veterans and first responders - be sure to ask them about it. If you are in central Jersey and want some authentic southern BBQ, this is the spot.

Yelp
Great BBQ and great service for a 14-person event. Taste - did not have a dish I did not like. Pulled port and brisket were fantastic. Sausages were spicy and tasty. All side were wonderful. When we arrived to pick up our food order, we determined we wanted to order more to err on the side of enough. Well, we didn't need to b/c their catering estimates/packages were spot on. But, we did anyway and the staff were great and filling the order quickly so we could be on our way. Option to purchase tinfoil trays with steel holders and sternos was soooo convenient!l I don't know of much good BBQ in central NJ but this place is awesome. Run by a vet focused on doing good for veterans. What's not to love?

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch today. The bbq is very good. I had brisket and sausage with a side of beans. The brisket was moist and tender with an excellent bark. I usually don't eat a lot of fat but the fat on the brisket was very good. The sausage was good, maybe a bit too rich. The side of beans was excellent. Would definitely stop by again.

Yelp
Saw the number of reviews, had to try it...thrilled to have had the chance to eat here I got the Texas Trinity and added pastrami. Everything was delicious, my absolute favorite was the brisket. It's obvious the team really is dialed into their bbq process The team working there are all superstars too, really adds to the experience. They are all super friendly and outgoing....rate to see it's genuine in hospitality these days This place is for real, give it a shot, you will be happy for sure

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place since it opened but haven't been able to until today! First impression while walking in was you could just smell the beautiful aroma of meat being smoked. Mouth watering is an understatement! I ordered the Pastrami Sandwich and oh my gosh, it is MASSIVE. But the meat is so tender and juicy, it just melts in your mouth and the Portuguese roll tops it off beautifully. I did get to choose a side with the sandwich and I chose Mac n' Cheese and I was honestly a bit disappointed in it. It wasn't the creamy cheesy Mac n' Cheese that I wanted it to be. Instead it was at the level of boxed Mac n' Cheese you make at home. But the potato salad; FANTASTIC! Really amazing and even my fiancé agreed. My fiancée got Brisket and Pork and he wasn't a big fan (he has very high standards since he grew up and lived in Texas his whole life). Overall, big portions, great pastrami, but the sides were a hit and miss. I definitely recommend coming here for some BBQ if you live nearby but it's not something I would personally go out of my way for.

Yelp
For BBQ in New Jersey, this place is good. The brisket was, by far, the best thing I had there. The pulled pork and ribs were on the drier side, and I had to eat around a lot of little bones on the ribs. However, they did have a good selection of sauces. I liked the Devil's Dog Spit, which doesn't sound very appetizing, but it was a solid BBQ sauce with a little bit of spice and sweetness to it. The sides were okay. The flavors didn't really catch my interest. The staff were very friendly. With this being a veteran-owned restaurant, they treated veterans with respect and kindness. I really appreciated seeing that (I am not a veteran). The interior was clean and had "American BBQ" vibe to it. If you're looking for good American BBQ in NJ. This would be the place to go.

Yelp
My family & I ordered the sampler as a little taste test to find out if we should use Red White & Que to cater an event. Pros: THE RIBS & THE BRISKET CAN TAKE ALLL MY MONEY! The beans were verrry tasty too! Always love online ordering or you can always call! Parking lot available. Cons: The turkey & the pulled pork were pretty dry. I was upset about that because pulled pork has always been one of my go-to's. I did not like the jalepeno cheese sausage at all, but my family member loved it ‍ I thought it was a weird texture. The potato salad had the potential to be good but it was SO salty!! I couldn't even finish the spoonful I gave myself This is a small place - you can eat inside but i think there were about 5 tables or so. Lastly the name of the restaurant isn't on the building... strange. Overall I would go back. I would order the ribs, brisket & beans. Not too sure if I would use them for catering my event though Need a few more tastier options.

Yelp
I was depressed when Oink & Moo left Somerville. Well, that was because I didn't know about Red White & Que. Service is super helpful in helping you sort through the menu both for what might be a great fit for you but also help you with meal sizing. The Pastrami is outstanding, and so is everything else. The place is small, and the smokers behind the counter are huge. Yes, that's the way it should be! Plus, the connection with supporting Veterans is awesome. Come here, be happy.

Yelp
I stopped by this place as I had a craving for some Southern barbecue. I wanted the beef ribs, but they were out. Apparently, someone purchased three beef ribs earlier in the day. I guess they only have three beef ribs total (1 star off)? So I got some barbecue beef brisket and pastrami. They both were tender and smokey, but did not seem flavorful to me (1 star off). I needed to dip them in a lot of barbecue sauce to enjoy them. They do have good barbecue sauce -- the Sweet Sweet 'Que and the Espresso Barbecue were delicious. I could dip anything in them, even detestable vegetables. I learned that they show their meat availability online. After I got home, I checked their website and it seems like most items were out. I think they must have very low inventory daily, which is not the best way to run a restaurant. I appreciate the up-to-date website, so you can be fully aware what you will be getting (or not).

Yelp
I ordered Combo #1, which includes 1/4 lb of brisket, 1/4 lb of pulled pork, one side, pickles, and a roll. I opted to substitute the pulled pork for extra brisket, paying an additional $2.00. I must say, the brisket was outstanding--tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I also really enjoyed the coleslaw; it was well-seasoned and flavorful enough that I didn't need to add any black pepper, which I usually do. The reason for my four-star rating is that I didn't receive the double portion of brisket I paid for. When I weighed the meat at home, it came out to just 19.38 oz, which was a bit disappointing given the added cost. Overall, the food was delicious, the wait time was under 15 minutes, and the atmosphere was decent. The setting aimed to capture a backyard BBQ feel, which it somewhat delivered.

Yelp
We drove one hour to try their food it's absolutely worth it!!!! Service is great, meat is WOW

Mike O.

Yelp
This was my husbands choice for Father's Day. He was excited to try the beef rib and Pastrami. Unfortunately we got there a little later than I would have liked . 5pm on Saturday. They were sold out of pastrami, chicken , sausage and rolls. We got the family platter and since they were out of chicken we substitute extra brisket. And my husband ordered the beef rib. We got Mac n cheese , potato salad and collard greens as sides. Other than the potato salad the other sides were not good. Pulled pork ... dry Ribs ...Dry Brisket. The only thing I enjoyed in this meal was. My husband's $45 beef rib was all fat. However their sauces were all good. I would not go back. This was overpriced BBQ .Not worth the hype in my opinion.
google avatar

Johnathan W.

Yelp
If you want bbq this spot is it. Their food is delicious and served fresh. Great service. Lots of sauces to choose from. The Mac and cheese is okay but the brisket makes up for anything the Mac and cheese misses. Family friendly. Can enjoy your food there or take it to go.

Yelp
Been meaning to come here for quite some time and finally made it Memorial Date weekend. Grill was out of commission so went foraging for dinner. We got there early and they were already out of chicken and ribs. We ordered and the brisket was 86ed next. We got brisket which my Wife raised about with vinegar slaw (yummy) and potato salad. Best she's had! We got 2 combos. Pulled pork and jalapeño cheese sausage and the other was brisket pastrami. Both were fantastic. The spicy pickles were delish but not really spicy. Mac and cheese side was a hit as were the baked beans. They smoke meats in house and they are the best I have had in NJ. Veteran owned. Please support this great business. I will be back soon.

Yelp
I asked 3 members of my family to give a rating and I averaged it out with mine. We came up with 4 stars. This place is a drive for us but since the Kearny location is closed we made the trip. Customer service is great! Kind of pricey but I guess expected during these times. Food was good. I wish the sauces would've been better tasting. Chicken was good and not dry. Brisket was delicious . The ribs were tender so wasn't difficult to bite into. Pulled pork was decent but could've been tastier. The pickles weren't good we actually asked for them to exchange them which they were nice enough to do. Mac and cheese was fine. The kids enjoyed it. The beans were so good and slightly sweet. Drinks seemed to be fine as my husband and two kids enjoyed them. Banana pudding was tasty and made for a good dessert late at night. We would come back but not order the family meal, we would probably customize it to just the ribs and brisket which were the favorites. Lots of indoor seating and pretty spread out which was nice since we did have the kids with us. Kept pretty clean and the bathrooms were also clean.
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Only got take out today. Bake beans, mac and cheese, brisket, and pulled pork and garlic pickles The brisket was really favored and good. The pulled pork was tasty as well. The baked beans I really enjoyed. But the Mac and cheese needed more seasoning. Overall, it was a really good take out experience. The portion for the combo for 2 is really enough for 2 and possibly 3. I should have gotten for 1. But I was not sure it would have been enough for me alone. But thinking now it would have been. The welcoming staff and fun atmosphere makes it easy for me to say I will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice ambiance and very good customer service. I got ribs and brisket both were tasty but eating dry. Brisket u dip in bbq sauce and it was lovely eat brisket alone eat dry. Ribs were dry at top and ends middle was moist good but fix that and ribs perfect. Banana pudding stole the show wow maybe the best one I've ever had. Collard greens were good also. I will come back and hopefully leave a better review cause this is a nice restaurant

Yelp
They do BBQ the Texan way, which means you don't need sauce. It's fine to have but not needed. Make sure to get sides as always in any BBQ place.

Yelp
Deeeelish! Service was awesome! Awesome atmosphere. Instantly my new favorite place!

Yelp
Wow! Why haven't we been here sooner? Everything was so good and Jordan was so helpful. He greeted us with a smile and made suggestions to us on the menu. He was very helpful and told us his favorites. We went with a combo and were able to substitute ribs for the sausage. For our sides we had the potato salad and the macaroni and cheese. We would have liked to have fried the beans but they were out of them. Guess that's what happens when you get there an hour before closing. It also comes with pickles or pickles veggies. With Jordan's suggestion we went for the string beans and onions. Like I said, everything was sooo good. We liked the paper towels on the table and the selection of sauces to choose from. We will definitely be back again and next time we hope to try the turkey and the beans. Thanks for a great experience.

E J.

Yelp
Legit great bbq spot. Jersey's very own can compete with anyone in the country. Made a catered order recently and had also trued the place when the Green Brook location first opened and boy it seemed like things got even better. The brisket was smokey without being too overpoweringly seasoned, and was just so juicy without being too fatty. The pastrami was also a big hit and the smoked turkey was surprisingly tasty and juicy. The coleslaw was a nice addition - finely chopped and not watery. Service was super friendly and creates a nice vibe/buzz even for my pickup. Arrived mid-PM and the place was full so it's definitely gotten a lot of traction since opening as the hype is legit.

Nancy S.

Yelp
We ordered catering for a party this past Saturday. When my husband went to pick up the food the restaurant was very busy. The person helping him was so nice even offering to help him take the food to the car. Wonderful service and the food was great! We highly recommend it and will be going back. Thank you for making our party a success!
google avatar

Tiye L.

Yelp
The brisket was delicious. Tender, reasonable portion for the price charged, and the right amount of a good rub. 2nd only to Texas BBQ. I like how the bread for the sandwich was on the side, which gave you the option of how you wanted to eat the meat. Friendly service. Admirable for providing discounts to veterans.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
disappointing, especially when you're expecting tender, juicy barbecue. Sounds like the ribs might have been held too long or reheated improperly, which can dry them out and toughen them up. The brisket being inconsistent suggests it either wasn't wrapped properly during the cook or was also reheated a bit too much.

Jayne K.

Yelp
The pastrami was tough and salty, the brisket was so fatty and swimming in grease, the pork was dry and over seasoned, the baked beans had a weird spice in them and the mac and cheese was bland and the macaroni not cooked enough. The only good thing was the coleslaw. The worst bbq I have ever had!

Maureen R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Nice sized portions...now I'm hungry! I highly recommend this place.

Seth B.

Yelp
I'll just say it wasn't for me. We love BBQ and were so excited to try this place due to the reviews we have seen. I would say some is def the sauce style. More Carolina vinegar base which just isn't what I like. The food needed sauces but since we didn't like the sauce it was a miss for us. Shame. We wanted to find a BBQ place we love in Nj but the search goes on.
google avatar

Bella M.

Yelp
Fantastic food, ambiance and service. The brisket was tender and moist, exploding in flavor. The smoked turkey was also moist, all the way to the edges. The side sauces they have available aren't for me personally, but the meat was so good I don't think it needed sauce either. Side of Mac and cheese was perfectly adequate, not amazing but not bad at all. The creamy coleslaw was also good, a little sweet and a little vinegary, good for breaking up the fat you're consuming The pastrami is really flavorful but expect it to be drier than brisket, just a different cut. Everyone is so friendly here too, they come around and ask if everything is to your liking. A+ for friendly staff Yum!

Jon B.

Yelp
It's bomb! Just told them to look at my license plate - Texas And said I just moved back from 2 years in Dallas and this place is just as good as the bbq joints in Texas! Fkn delicious!!
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
My family bought home some take out BBQ from this place. The ribs are tasty and the sauce had a nice balance between spicy and sweet. I also tried the pastrami and it was really good. This an excellent place for real southern BBQ and i will definitely try the dine in if I'm near the area.
google avatar

Elson A.

Yelp
I had one of the best BBQ Brisket and Pork and Beans. Plus we have a pastrami sandwich

Yelp
I'm guilty as charged. I've been driving past Red, White, & Que Smokehouse for a long time and kept saying, "I need to check them out." Today, I woke up craving ribs, so I got my butt over to RW&Q and I'm thrilled. Great menu, but I knew I want St. Louis Dry Rub. I got a half rack, literally 2x more than I can finish. So two meals. I got baked beans (again I made the right choice) Smokey baked beans are amazingly rich, not too sweet, fills my mouth with flavor. I also got the vinegar Cole Slaw. Excellent! Next time I'll get a quarter rack. I'm stuffed. RW&Q is in Green Brook, NJ on Route 22 west. Easy to get into, plenty of parking. I took my lunch to go but the store itself is clean with plenty of tables. I'll eat in next time. Owned by a US Veteran and if you're a vet they promote a Veterans discount. Bottomline: Red, White, & Que is an instant favorite and I'll be back many times. Lots of menu items to explore and about 7 other sauces I need to sample.

Yelp
So this spot is near Greenbrook and I was thinking about it so I decided to go in and I ended up getting the ribs which were really seasoned and really really moist. They were so good perfectly done and they're now a signature dish that I get every time I pop into this joint but let me tell you about this beautifully made brisket. This shit is so good and tender. The smoke ring on it is magnificent. On top of this good meat "pause" my favorite barbecue sauce that it has besides there spicy barbecue is this espresso barbecue so whenever you go here, make sure you get a couple of scoops of that espresso barbecue sauce, top-tier Texas brisket and I'm loving the ribs. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture, but I'll add one when I go back.

Yelp
My family loves this place. Personally I am not much of a BBQ lover but they do offer different options. But if you love BBQ please try this Veteran owned place. Service was so quick and accomodating

Yelp
4.25 stars. Very good BBQ here that is smoked! You can really taste/smell the smokiness in the meats. The meats are very heavy and will fill you up. Their mac and cheese is also very creamy and is good! I'd come here again if I am craving smoked BBQ!
