Google
Highly recommended stopping in at this location. The beans have been roasted and used within the recommended date, and the quality of my cappuccino was excellent. Friendly staff and a nice environment!

iUnravel

Google
Awesome service. Staff was very friendly and efficient. They were knowledgeable about the coffee as well.

Google
My vanilla oat milk matcha was superb! Very cozy cafe next to the hospital. 2-3 tables inside.

Annabelle Veatch

Google
Coffee was amazing, but what blew me away was the excellent service! Baristas super friendly and talkative. The coffee needs to be good for my boyfriend and I, but the service needs to be better. And WOW. These people at RedHawk rocked 👏 Our order: cortado, iced mocha w/an alternative milk, and a ham cheese croissant 🥐 Cool atmosphere inside too ✌️peep below!

Google
I visited because of the high ratings, but was really disappointed. We ordered an Americano and a latte — neither had any real coffee flavor. The latte tasted like warm milk and wasn’t even hot. Not what I expected from a highly rated spot.

Google
Super quick & friendly service even though it's busy. Chose a almond milk cappuccino & got a free drip. Bought a bag of beans to take back home to brew.

Google
Chai Latte was fabulous and with all the decoration of a mug but in a paper cup❤ Lemon bar was very good, not overly sweet. Very friendly staff and just around the corner from the hospital. Delightful experience!

Google
Nice cozy place with knowledgable barista. Delicious coffee but limited options of sandwich / food. Have to crouch under the counter for the restroom on the back too but other than that this is an awesome place to study / chill. A little bit loud on music but great music selection :) 5 stars for the aero press!

Yelp
The blueberry muffin that I just devoured for breakfast was the best muffin I've ever had in my life. The cold brew is delicious too, very strong (in a good way) I didn't get any sleep but now I'm able to stay awake at work.

Yelp
Very solid coffee. Super large for what it is. The place was cozy. Staff was chill. You can't sit for long because it's a small location. The coffee was not overall sweet but still had the caramel flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee spot in Pittsburgh. Barista was friendly and made a delicious latte. I ordered an oatmilk latte with honey and cinnamon. Would recommend again. Small inside but has more than enough seating if you need to stop in for a quick spot to warm up.

Yelp
Rad coffee joint to chill, study or people watch. Thanks for a quick pick me up while visiting the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute small shop, so expect to sit outside or take you coffee to go, never seen open seats as there is always people here! I usually get the Iced Mocha here, and it's bomb! Perfect chocolate to coffee ratio! I also caved and got a chocolate croissant which was delicious.

Yelp
The baristas here are super friendly and the espresso is pretty high quality. It's punchy and acidic and doesn't leave a bitter flavor in your mouth afterwards. There's some limited seating indoors with a nice area to chat and enjoy your beverage. I'd definitely give this place a try.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee, and they serve pigeon bagels, which stand up to any NYC bagel. The bulk coffee beans are a bit over priced, but this place is a def recommend.

Sophia C.

Yelp
Love this place. Really nice space and super friendly baristas. Matcha latte w almond milk was really good and you could actually taste the matcha! Almond milk latte was also great - the espresso is so good we bought a few bags to use at home

Yelp
This is a legit coffee bar in Pittsburgh in the middle of the University district. It's a no frills establishment and they really know how to make a good cappuccino.
google avatar

Cliff Z.

Yelp
Great coffee! We had lattes, Vietnamese coffee, and espresso and it was very smooth coffee. We will be back the next time we come in for a Stiller's game
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
Pretty expensive for just an iced coffee, considering they only have cold brew. The cookies were good, and the barista was very nice, but there's not many places to sit inside.
google avatar

Ed S.

Yelp
Ordered iced drip, was given and charged for cold brew. Asked if its drip and was told no one ever gets iced coffee so therefore they gave me cold brew which you know is a totally different taste and amount of caffeine in it. After getting me what i ordered i then had to ask for refund of price difference between what i ordered and what the staff decided to serve me.

Yelp
This place is very cute and centrally located. The milk situation is on point. Fresh milk from a local farm. While we were ordering our drinks the milk man popped out of the back with all of the empty bottles, which gave me a bit of a chuckle. Coffee tasted great and the staff were super kind.
google avatar

Yelp
Very yummy coffee! I've tried the Vietnamese cold brew which is strong and not too sweet. Have also tried a regular vanilla latte as well as chai latte. Always taste good. And the staff are always so friendly. There usually is people sitting and seems like studying or working and there's not many places to sit. So I've never actually sat there. But I recommend their coffee anyways!

Yelp
Ahhh, that smell upon first walking in. SO good. These guys offer a variety of fresh drinks and pastries. I tend to gravitate more toward the baked goods, and I'd say all the ones I've tried are tasty and filling. They've got a handful of tables and places to sit and chill, complete with a couple of outlets. It's a super small space, though, so I wouldn't bring more than one or two other people with you if you stop by. It can also get pretty noisy if there are enough people in there, so it's probably not the place I'd go to get some work done or to study. Other than that, I adore this little coffee shop. The staff is quick to get orders ready, and they're always pleasantly friendly and polite. During a busy time, the cashier even took a moment to ask how I was doing rather than ask straight up what I'd like to order. These guys are awesome and I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Honestly, really overpriced, but the drinks are pretty good! The interior is also very cute, but doesn't seem like a good place to do work because it can get loud. Hot Chocolate- The whipped cream on top added such sweet creaminess. It wasn't too sweet like the Starbucks one which I really appreciated. It was just really overpriced for the amount of hot chocolate there was. Overall, the only reason I wouldn't come back would be because of the price. If I had money to splurge on a drink, I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Perfect latte- it ranked in the top three of all time. We were there when the place opened on a COLD January morning and the barista was friendly and answered our questions readily. We ordered a cold brew and a latte with whole milk. Both perfection. They offered some baked goods but we had already eaten breakfast so cannot comment on the food. So glad we purchased some beans (City Drug variety) and their delicious, locally produced milk to bring home. Will make a point to visit this location every time we are in town!

Yelp
Very nice local cafe in Oakland. It is small with limited seating but has a very charming atmosphere with similarity to a loft style. Menu is mainly the coffee with a few light options - muffins etc.
google avatar

Alexa M.

Yelp
Great coffee, love their mocha. Super cute cafe, just not a lot of room to sit. Staff are always happy and helpful! 10/10
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
The coffee here is great. I've tried their oat milk latte, vanilla latte, and matcha latte. My favorite is the iced oat latte. It was super creamy and had a bold coffee taste to it. The matcha latte was also pretty good didn't just taste like sweetened milk. I do wish that the matcha flavor was stronger, though. The vanilla latte was a bit too sweet in my opinion. The shop is small with some seats so you'd have to come early if you want to work here.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute coffee shop conveniently located in Oakland. Their mocha, cold brew, and Vietnamese cold brew are fantastic, and they offer a great mix of iced lattes including caramel and lavender. Staff are efficient and friendly towards customers. Definitely will be back to try more!
google avatar

Yelp
We were walking through Oakland and have heard a lot of good things about Redhawk Coffee, so we decided to try it out for ourselves. We ordered an iced caramel latte and it was average to be honest. Not sure if we ordered tour wrong thing or incorrectly, but the drink itself wasn't as sweet and was a little grimier than usual. I definitely want to come back here and give it another shot because people have said so many good things about it! It also seemed like a good place to study, as they had tables and a little bar area where students were doing work

Yelp
Stopped by here because it was the closest spot Google could send me from Schenley Park (that wasn't Starschmucks). Easy to find, good Covid precautions (3 at a time in the shop). Pleasant fellows working the expresso machine. Why only three stars? $4+ for a large latte that was really quite small. The quality of the drink failed to compensate for the quantity. It wasn't piping hot. Meh...
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
Overall: super cool coffee shop serving up some exquisite lattes. Ordered 4 iced lattes all different flavors and every one of them worth getting again. Honey, lavender, pistachio, and more flavors. Solo staff on duty working super efficiently and extremely charismatic to customers. Would absolutely recommend for more nuanced coffee choices than your basic Starbucks.

Yelp
I've only had the Mocha here but it was delicious!! It's made with chocolate milk which I loved! Service is very quick, and the store is super cute.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop near University of Pittsburgh and close to the many hospitals. Great coffee and service! Had a cinnamon honey Latte that was great. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I stopped by here earlier today for my morning coffee. Redhawk Coffee is located right off of Forbes on Meyran Avenue in Oakland and I decided to come here after noticing it the past two days while walking by on Forbes. The shop itself is somewhat small inside and has a bunch of two top tables that can seat around 8. There was also some seating outside and while I am not 100% positive it was for the Redhawk, it likely was. On this Sunday morning the shop was pretty full whenever I got there with all of the tables being taken and 4 people in line in front of me. By the time I had it made it to the front of the line, the line behind me was out the door and I would guess there were around 10 people in it. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a large oat milk latte and then also ordered my wife an 8 oz Americano. It was ready within a couple of minutes and I had my coffee and was on my way. Once I finally was able to try the coffee I was happy with it. My latte had a nice ratio of coffee to milk. The oat milk had a nice flavor to it and more importantly the coffee itself was rich and strong and tasted freshly roasted. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees here and I liked that I had the option of choosing oat milk.

Yelp
One of the best places for coffee in Pittsburgh. I needed a caffeine free option when I visited recently so I got the golden latte. Very spicy and turmeric filled. It was nice and I felt energized and cleansed. Come here for your coffee or tea next time you are in Oakland.
google avatar

Yelp
On my most recent trip to Pittsburgh, I had a lot of coffee, but Redhawk is superior. The coffee was roasted perfectly and was a great pick me up. This specific location is pretty tiny and crowded. My boyfriend and I originally ordered our drinks to have there, but there wasn't any open seating so we opted to take them to go. The service was great and the staff were really friendly! Overall a great little coffee shop.

Yelp
A couple of weeks ago I was in Pittsburgh for work. Normally I make espresso at home each morning but, needed to find my caffeine fix when on the road. I decided to give Redhawk a try. The espresso was very good. The barista took her time, weighed the beans and the espresso (I also do this at home). Visually the shot was pleasing, nice reddish brown crema. The taste was balanced and well extracted. No bitter or sour notes. I enjoyed it tremendously.
google avatar

Kristen E.

Yelp
Cute shop, clearly popular, friendly staff. -1/2 star because it's loud inside, and -1/2 star because the hot chocolate, while visually appealing, was more like warm chocolate.

Yelp
Quick and easy stop for coffee, tea and lattes! Cashier was helpful and knowledgeable, suggesting a very nice green tea with mint. Flavor was good and atmosphere nice. I sat outside for a meeting at their sidewalk/road picnic table seating, a nice choice just a bit loud. The indoor area also looked like a nice place to do school work, though keep in mind it is no more than 3 tables available. Small place but good option, would recommend to coffee fans.
google avatar

Caitlin M.

Yelp
Redhawk is a cute and quaint coffee shop in Oakland. There is no indoor seating at this time, but there are tables outside. I ordered an iced mocha. I typically opt for oat milk, but at Redhawk their mocha is espresso mixed into fresh, local chocolate milk! I thought this was creative and that it tasted great, but you are basically drinking a large serving of chocolate milk; I could not finish mine. When I return, I think I will opt for the oat milk. The baristas were really friendly and efficient!

Yelp
Couldn't think of a better way to start of one's day than with a cup of coffee from Redhawk and maybe a piece of pastry (or two). Came here earlier this morning and was hit with an energetic and wholesome vibe as the place was packed with local students of Pitt, waiting in line to get a kickstart to their day. People were running into each other and everyone was saying hi to one another. Got a Mocha that was light and nice. The chocolate flavor blended well with the smooth coffee without being overpowering or too sweet. My friend's Cortado was also very good! I'll be praying for them to open up a shop on the West Coast!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Best coffee in Oakland and some of the best coffee in Pittsburgh. Only downside is the lack of space and seating inside.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Coffee tasted good, but it did not make my friend, and I feel great after drinking it. There are better options in Oakland.
google avatar

Maddie F.

Yelp
Really good coffee! Gives off a small, hipster coffee shop vibe. This is quality coffee, so don't come in expecting huge portions and very sweet coffee. Place inside is fairly small, so it may be hard to find a table. Probably the best coffee shop in Oakland!
google avatar

Hanna S.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh so far! Although it doesn't have much seating, the strong, flavorful, and perfectly balanced espresso and brews are well worth the trip! They also feature numerous different roasters, so you can always try a new bean. It's also conveniently located next to a donut shop...
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Lovely but small local coffee spot with coffee drinks and local bagels and pastries. Loved my cappuccino and muffin.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
My first impression of Redhawk was that it was really cute (but surprisingly tiny for such a busy part of town). If you're lucky enough to go when one of the three tables or few bar stools are free, this would be a nice little place to do some work. However, if it's any type of busy at all, I could see longer waits and the need to take your coffee to-go. The coffee itself - I got a black drip - was nothing special. It tasted fairly watery, and didn't have any real tasting notes. However, the barista was friendly, and I think it's great that Redhawk is trying to stake out its place amongst the many corporate shops in Oakland. I'll probably try it again in the future to see if maybe it was just a bad brew day (especially since there's so many other reviews saying it's great), or to try a latte.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Really cute coffee shop. Very small tho. Only college students there so far. Its a bit on the pricey side bt its still good. Ordered a small mocha it was delish. The server was very nice, she hooked it up for me & added a dash of vanilla at the end.

Taylor S.

Yelp
The best coffee shop in Pittsburgh! Roast their own espresso and it is superior must try!

Quinn S.

Yelp
man i've gone here for the last three years every time i leave happy. coffee is superb and the staff is chill as hell. i recommend. not to mention its a cute spot!
google avatar

Rachael K.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars -- the service is unbeatable! The coffee amazing! My friend wanted to try an affogato. Unfortunately, there was no ice cream at hand. To my friend's pleasant surprise, the worker offered to go look for some ice cream just to accommodate her order. Not only was the barista stylish, he was truly a man of his word as well. That's quality service! Each and every worker here is friendly and they go above and beyond expectations! I can't rave about this place enough. You'll never encounter a place as welcoming and generous as this one!
google avatar

Miriam W.

Yelp
It's not often that you find a craft coffee spot where people are ordering magics and cortados that also happily (and kindly) serves excellent tea. This is but one of the many ways Redhawk is a refreshing departure from the norm. I spend a lot of time in coffee shops, even though I'm allergic to coffee, and it can get real depressing drinking plain water or subpar, overly sweet chai whilst my companions swoon about their single origin brews. Not so at Redhawk! The fine folks here have a laudable selection of tea and didn't bat an eye when I asked for the vanilla rooibos to be turned into a tea latte. Thank you Redhawk for making my stay in Pittsburgh extra lovely. I will miss your tea lattes when I head back home to San Francisco!

Yelp
Was excited to try this new coffee shop in the Oakland area. A very small shop with not a lot of seating. The menu is pretty basic with lattes, espresso, mocha, etc. I got the medium mocha because the small was super tiny. It was $4, which is around the same price of Starbucks. The staff was super friendly and definitely made me want to come back. I was also happy to see a cute heart on my mocha. My mocha was great, not too sweet and could still taste some of the coffee. Overall, a nice change from the classic Starbucks or Dunkin on Forbes. I know I will be back!
google avatar

Karla D.

Yelp
It's super small inside but I don't care, I'm not here to sit around. I like to grab my drink and go; especially in Oakland. I'm usually super on the run here and need quick service which I get. Quick, accurate and friendly service. I come here for the lattes and cold brew. We have a lot of coffee shops where we can spend our dollars and this is a local place that I feel comfortable giving my money because they brew exceptional goodness.
google avatar

Yelp
Redhawk is a cute and small place in Oakland area. I thought the drinks a little expensive compared to the other places. There's not many variety of food (at least in the day I was there) but the staff were very friendly and nice so that's why I'm still giving 3 stars. I think I had high expectations of this place because of the good reviews in the Yelp but after giving it a try... Hummm... Kinda of is not what I was expecting.
