Where to Eat in Homestead: 11 Top Spots | Eater Miami

"This farmer’s market is home to smoothies, juices, jams, and is often a station for various food trucks to hang out and serve their fares. Typically visitors will find a barbeque truck, a taco truck, and one with burgers." - Amber Love Bond

The strawberry banana smoothie was definitely one of the best I’ve had! It was really creamy and blended very well! Lots of flavor too! My açaí dish was just as delicious! The bowl is huge and the fruit is very fresh and juicy! The lady at the front who took my order was so friendly. They also have other products - including many honey sticks that come in different flavors- I’ll try them the next time I come in soon!

Updated: The new owner is amazing and passionate about his beautiful business. The market was awesome. The smoothies were amazing and the upgraded and updated farm is gorgeous. I will go back soon and I'm so happy this place is available for the community. Beautiful and relaxing with lots of activities and peaceful surroundings.

This place is amazing, so enjoyable with the family. You can eat delicious burgers, shakes, and natural drinks. The music on Saturday was so great and the people were super friendly. I highly recommend it, and we will be here again for sure.

Google
I’m all for supporting small businesses, place looks nice but lack of customer care wasn’t there. I ordered an açaí bowl and it wasn’t till after i received it that I was told no blueberries weren’t available. Wasn’t even given the option to add any other fruit. I also ordered an Oreo shake and honestly was watered down I’ve had a better shake at McDonalds. Definitely won’t be back.

Google
Very disappointed they don't tell you nothing before you pay, but they charge you a Card Fee of 3.5%,......I don't think this charge is correct , tips are calculated over Card Fee and Florida Tax, that is not right!!!!! about food, I think I have eaten better in a food truck !!!!!! we ordered a Mixed Grill !!!! I never will return to this place!!!!!

Jamie S.

Google
This place is amazing! The grounds are so well kept and tropical. Food is out of this world! We had street tacos and then had to have a wagyu burger which was amazing! The people are so nice too! Would definitely come here again!

Google

First time there coming up from our home in Key Largo. Came in as family of four. You pay in advance and they just take a first name and say they will bring the food out to you when it’s ready. Food literally took over 2.5 hours to come out and each meal came out individually which made for a particularly miserable experience. Had to say something at 1.5 hour mark to remind them about us, as I’m pretty sure they forgot about us. Granted we were extremely nice and respectful about it even though the lady we said something to came off kind of rude and snappy just us saying something. We got a each one of the meals 20 minutes apart from another. My son ordered a burger, my wife ordered a quesadilla, my daughter and I both ordered tacos. The burger actually came out first of all meals. The food looks nothing like the quality of pictures on here- literally was like corporate chain restaurant style tacos! A young and very terrified server that brought the food said she sorry every time she dropped each meal and bolted bad to the kitchen. No explantation was given by management or anyone else and nothing was done to right the situation. I feel like we baited and switched when it came to the food and experience by paying in advance.

Yelp
Went back to visit and so happy I did. Diana makes the best smoothies and juices. I'm going back again this week because their menu got more extensive ! What beautiful service Diana gives. She's kind and extremely attentive to make the customer happy. The ambiance there is so peaceful and beautiful.

Yelp
This was a pretty nice lunch to stop at! the biggest problem is the wait time. There were only two people working there so it took some time to get our smoothie and food. We had the tropical dragon (a 3-layer smoothie with strawberry/dragonfruit, kale/spinanch, and mango) It was refreshing. We also had a mango smoothie with coconut milk which was good too. To eat we had the wagyu burger and the steak fajita wrap. Both were quite tasty, but they were served with potato sticks (would have preferred fries or a kettle chip). It was also pretty pricey. Bottom line food is fine and took a long time, so although it was a pretty pleasant experience, not exactly sure when we'll be back.

Maria B.

Yelp
It's always busy during the weekend, their smoothies ara great, and they carry local honey and fresh produce!
google avatar

Mica L.

Yelp
This spot was a lifesaver. I found it in the middle of nowhere & they had fresh drinks & things. I really loved my mango bread, the empanadas, & the fresh juice. I also got a dipped alfrejore that was so good. The only downside is it's a bit pricey, but worth it for the convenience.

Yelp
Place is clean but food is pollo tropical quality. At least the chicken bowls were. My husband got a churrasco with a side of rice and beans and peppers ($27) and he said it was cooked well. It was small and served with plastic utensils, making it difficult to cut. The rice was mushy. My mom had a smoothie and she enjoyed it very much! I would return for smoothies but not for the food. I must say the place does have a lot of potential and the playground for the kids is awesome! My rating is exclusively about the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun to watch, but if you can dance! Not for those with two left feet like me! I loved the atmosphere and crowd!
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here after visiting a farm in the area. The photos looked super good so we were very excited to try the huevos rancheros! What we got did not at alll look like the pictures, unfortunately. We also paid for the steak upgrade and didn't get it. We had to remind them a few minutes after we received our food.

Bob E.

Yelp
Attended a wedding rehearsal party here. Well done!! Great food and service. The outdoor venue was nice and the weather cooperated.

Yelp
Driving through the Redlands and decided to stop for some smoothies. There was a live band setting up. We ordered 3 smoothies and 2 items of food. We tried ordering some other food items from their menu but they didn't have. We got our smoothies. Everything was great...but no food yet. After a while of waiting, they asked, is everyone ok, are you waiting for anything???? Uhh yes the food we ordered. Food was brought... we specifically asked for the arepa to only have mozzarella cheese, it came with the cheddar as well. We didn't send it back because as it is, the food took long. And we only ordered 2 tequeños and 1 arepa. It was ok. Smoothies were definitely a lot better.

Yelp
Nice place to stop and get a quick bite while on your Saturday leisure drive through the Redlands area. The staff is friendly and ready to help with any questions. The thing to go for here are the natural juices and smoothies made to order. The ambiance is country style. Makes you feel like you're in a farm. A must try if you're around. Almost forgot, they also have a nice play area for the kiddos.

Emily A.

Yelp
Honestly, I'm quite disappointed. I used to come to this place all the time before the owners originally sold out. The new owners made it look nice and everything, but for the price and what you're getting food wise is not worth it. I think they need to do an adjustment to what they're charging people and what they're serving it's not worth it I definitely will not be coming back especially after waiting more than 10 minutes for a lemonade that should've been brought out first that they forgot about and we ended up taking it to go because we were already done eating everything else. Not liquid gold, not fresh. Frozen to microwave. Frozen to blender. I'd give 0.01 star if I could.

Norma L.

Yelp
I'm so sorry to have to leave this kind of review but the owners are clueless. I read about this place and thought it would nice to drive out there on a beautiful day. We two empanadas that were sitting behind the glass display and one mamey milkshake. That's it. Waited for 25 minutes for the empanadas! Go figure they were already cooked and in the display. The milkshake was $9. When we were paying a woman came in complaining how long they were waiting for their food. Owners need to get their act together. We won't be going back.

Yelp
I am really irritated. I waited so long for my order just to get worse than gas station quality food but I was charged $35 for it including the fees from Ubereats. Im already late for a appointment. The food took forever to get prepared and it's not like they actually fried the chicken wings hard, because they were soggy and the mac & cheese definitely isn't homemade, so I'm not sure what took them so long to get my order out. I basically paid $35 to waste my time. I am beyond irritated. They charge $10 for mac & cheese that is watery and disgusting and worse than KFC mac & cheese, and it's a small portion. I had to throw it in the trash. I can't eat it. I can go to Finka and get a dinner size portion of mac & cheese for $15 like what???? and it has beef and other things added on top. Again the wings were soggy. They were not fried hard you only get six, I don't even think they clean them prior to cooking because I had a big hair on mine and they're charging like $15 for it. I should've just ordered from the ale house I guess. Just a waste, I feel robbed. If you can't cook, get out the cooking industry! Now I have to place another order somewhere else and waste another $30. Thanks! The only reason I picked this place is because of the reviews which were definitely misleading. Beyond disappointing!

Yelp
This is going to be the strangest Yelp review I've even left for a Restaurant and I hadn't even eaten there. We made reservations through Yelp and when we got there the gate was closed, so we called and I spoke to a man, who I assume was the owner. He apologized and explained that he forgot to update his Yelp account to indicate that they had just acquired the business and were closed for a while. He then asked if he could offer some suggestions for other Redland restaurants. He directed us to Royd's and said that we would really enjoy it... we did. The four stars are because of the way he resolved the problem. Good job! Because of this good customer service, we will come back when we are in Miami and they have reopened.

Yelp
Amazing food with plenty parking space and play area for kids. Nice option when you wanna grab some good food having little kids :)
google avatar

Nathan R.

Yelp
Mediocre, bland food. Come fed and its a decent park for your kid. Overpriced as well. Bad enough food that I made a yelp account just to keep some realistic expectations for the next poor folks who think the current 5 star review is based in reality.

Yelp
Amazing food staff all so friendly the restaurant was so clean and cozy the chicken sandwich is so yummy

Keila C.

Yelp
A 10/10 experience!! Coconut lovers, you should try the Cocada! Amazing!! Staff attentive and friendly The ambiance was equally impressive, with a stylish and cozy setting that created the perfect atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Robert T.

Yelp
The area is super nice and peaceful, they have music playing and the food came out quick a tasty! i also got a strawberry banana smoothie very creamy and full of flavor, i recommend 100% will be back with friends!
google avatar

Ersilia H.

Yelp
Very below satisfactory food . Prices are crazy high. We unfortunately will not be back .
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
Place has a new owner and the food does not seem that they make it themselves as it tastes it had been frozen and for the high prices they have it's not worth going.

Aimee G.

Yelp
Been twice, first time was in the morning and the smoothies were great and the kittens were so cute. The second time was Saturday at around 9:00pm, listened to live music with other customers while they danced and sang and enjoyed their "parrillada". The owners are very welcoming and try to make you feel at home. Have had smoothies, banana bread and rice pudding...all very tasty! The place is clean and inviting for special occasions. Definitely going back and would invite all to check them out!

Yelp
Beautiful, casual atmosphere under large trees. They deserve support. Recently remodeled kitchen. Huge staghorns decorate the venue.

Yelp
I stumbled on Redland Ranch on a recent trip to the nurseries in the Redlands, part of Miami's second oldest community, Homestead. The Redlands is an agricultural area in Southwest Dade. Redlands Ranch is a popular produce and smoothie shop and I instantly loved the relaxed tropical vibe here. If you want to visit just remember they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Redlands Ranch is owned by Rolando and Carmen Zedan. Rolando had always wanted to own a farm while his wife Carmen always wanted to open a smoothie shop. The couple combined their dreams and they opened their business in November of 2014. The farm is decorated with hammocks strung between avocado trees, pallet swings, and trees festooned with bicycles. Besides the avocado trees there are also sapodilla, lychee, dragon fruit, and a kumquat tree. Tables are constructed from recycled Florida Power and Light electric cable wheels. Cats and chickens freely roam the property. In a former boat repair shop, smoothies are made from fresh fruits from the Redlands. The upper floors of the building became the Zedans home. They also sell locally harvested honey, seasonings, jams, spreads, hot sauces and handmade Pickole popsicles. Serving up food was a Mexican Taqueria and a Peruvian food truck, Inka's Joint. This is the perfect place to hang out with family and friends. When you want to leave the city behind come out to the Redlands and experience the country life at Redland Ranch.

Yelp
Found this place by mistake! Love this concept, so cool! The property has so much to offer... three food trucks:tacos, pupusas, and Argentinian grill Artisans that are local and one of a kind Farm store with honey, shakes, juices, lots of local products! Hang out/eating areas. All of this under the shade. I bought some a delicious strawberry and pineapple juice. I also got a bottle of Propolis and a locally made coconut bread. Can't wait to spend more time here!
google avatar

Yireh R.

Yelp
The shakes here.... Yummmnesss! They are not open all year though so beware! They've got quite the selection of jellies, jams, syrups, honeys and the like. The shakes are very filling, the goods are ok prices but I found the baked goods to be on the pricey side. If you have the chance of meeting a local artisan that sells fresh cheese, BUY it!! I wish I remembered his name, but the cheese was incredible. They have a fun seating area around the open shop with chickens running around and a few caged birds that you can watch. The grounds are great with hammocks, tables and mexican, argentinian and now peruvian food trucks. Best country music playing in the background. This is the perfect place to just feel like you're in the boonies but still close enough to home and no truck needed

Yelp
Great place to stop. Top spot for cyclists stop to refill and chill. Cozy spot with a great selection on natural juices, marmalade, local honey ,ice cream and more . Great customer service, clean and authentic farm spot with many hammocks for relax and enjoy the nature around the property.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful time here. The environment Ronaldo has created is fantastic, and the variety of organic goods available is incredible. I'm so happy I found this hidden gem. This honey unquestionably ranks among the best in south Florida. The variety of coffee beans was exceptional. I also bought CBD items, which have heavenly scents. This is the place to go if you want true, raw honey. The also offer shakes and smoothies!
google avatar

Alyson M.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest this place was pretty hyped up based on reviews and when I finally went I was so disappointed...waited 45 minutes to get out overpriced food that was hands down one of the worst chickens and burgers I've had in a while.. atmosphere is weird, saw some people smoking weed* freely, in an environment that has children in it. (You make of that with what you want) but, I just thought I'd put it out there for people who aren't okay with that. Space has a lot of potential but it falls short of mediocre.. playground is the only thing cool about (it should be lit up a bit more). I am confused with all the high ratings!

Jessica M.

Yelp
The ranch itself is pretty and fun. I love the countryside vibes very close to Miami city that's make my weekend like a getaway trip even if is only 40 min away! grateful taste food and menu, park for kids, pet friendly, the hammocks on the gardens make me feel on vacations for a few hours! THE DECK! love the amazing deck with DJ and beautiful old trees. it's all about THE EXPERIENCE LOVE IT

Javi R.

Yelp
I definitely recommend, they have a nice play ground for kids, and delicious food. I had a guava smoothie when I went and definitely loved it .
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
What a great little gem in the Redlands! We were out driving and visiting nurseries today, and stumbled upon this place. There were quite a bit of cars parked outside, so we figured it should be worth checking out...and we were right! Inside the ranch, you will find a wide open space, filled with lazy hammocks, pallet swings, free running chickens, birds and tons and tons of trees! It's a great place for the adults to grab some food and drinks and let the children run around without worrying about whether you can socially distance ( because you can, by golly, you can!). Food options include a Mexican food truck, an Argentinian food truck and and their main store, which serves sandwiches and a large selection of smoothies. There's plenty of seating spread throughout, so you can literally spend a couple of hours just munching away and lounging around with family. Every staff member we encountered was ultra friendly, and overall, the place was clean and well managed ( meeting all CDC guidelines post Covid). There's a laid back, country feel, which adds to the charm of the place as well. We tried the Strawberry smoothie, a variety of tacos and also purchased some avocados. Prices were all very reasonable and we though everything tasted great! If you're looking to spend a few hours relaxing in the heart of the Redlands, look no further!

Yelp
Came here couple of weeks ago for a nice drive before all the madness of the coronavirus. Place was still open for grab and go and was seated on a cute farm. Plenty of land to just chill and relax. On the property sits a general store selling organic, homemade, and healthy quality items. They had lots of jams, marmalades, and hot sauces of all flavors available. They also had the ever so popular Royal Jelly for sale that also lists all health benefits. Don't forget you can also purchase some great fruits, veggies, honey and so much more. There's lots to see in this store I've only listed a few. Be sure to take your time to really appreciate the whole property and walk around. Oh and grab a homemade shake or smoothie or even a sandwich or wrap for a healthy treat. To cool off they have great fruit popsicles that are a must. I had a coconut with nutella. freaking delish!Grab a seat at one of their wheel barrel tables, picnic tables or under lay under a hammock. Want something heavier in your stomach, check out the food trucks onsite which feature either BBQ or delicious Mexican tacos. This place is super cute and be nice to the animals(chickens and parrots are in cages) walking around the property, they won't bother you but seem friendly as they come close.

Abby N.

Yelp
So the place itself is really cute and great for kiddos! The food was very delicious- the only downfall is that we had to wait over 40 min for 2 burgers and 1 chicken breast and then another 15 min for the side of fries. You can't go here in a rush - be prepared to wait but it was very very good food!
google avatar

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Such a cute spot to relax on some hammocks or have a sandwich, smoothie or shake made for you. You can buy honey, jams and all types of goodies here. There is also an area where you can buy tacos and Mexican bites! I also love that there are random chickens running around and they have old school salsa playing, really sets the tone. I love this place :)
google avatar

Roberto R.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few years and it's a hidden gem in the Redlands. Not only do they have the best smoothies and milkshakes with a ton of flavors to choose from...there is a food truck on-site that serves incredible tacos! The whole property is a great. You can hang out in the hammocks, sit at a table and watch the chickens grazing, or take your smoothie and tacos to go. The owners are really nice. Overall, It's a nice retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Miami life.
google avatar

Yolanda D.

Yelp
So we decided to get some Tacos since we were around the area. I googled tacos near by i did not wanted to go to any typical restaurants so i found this little gem! It is the cutest i love the whole feels and vibes of it. It's basically a ranch that has like 4 little food trucks and plenty of seats and little hammocks! Makes you feel like your right at home but in a country feel! We ended up eating at the little taco stand! Each tacos was $1.99 so yummy and you can add all the toppings you had. The staff were so helpful! And there's was a little girl taking the order which was the cutest and helpful! Thank you ! The taco flavors were so good i wanted more but i have been eating too much lol but next time for sure i will come back !
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
I love this place! It's got amazing shakes and smoothies. Such a chill, mellow, good vibe to the place. The owners are super sweet too. They have lots of seating and fun, bright color hammocks.
google avatar

Rafael H.

Yelp
A wonderful natural market full of natural options to enhance your life. Originally, visited most for their vast variety of shakes & smoothies. However, extending their menu and not limited to juices, jam, honey, healthy shoots of ginger, etc. The owners are beyond attentive, friendly and informative. They take pride in building a GREAT relationship with customers. I love going into this location as I feel part of the family. Plus their shakes & really good. Great lot size to allow the family to walk and enjoy a peaceful time. Except Saturday mornings because too many cycles have discovered this location .

Gabi B.

Yelp
Please explain to me if its normal for meat to be so overcooked. So dissapointing and a waste of money.
google avatar

Nikki M.

Yelp
I grew up in the Redlands and I have to say this is one of the most "Redlands" places I've ever been. It encompasses all the things that make you love growing up in a small town like Homestead. There's Florida jams, locally made paletas, local honey and fresh eggs. We stopped in because Yelp had suggested it to us based on our other stops in the area and just had a shake (along with some jams and honey obviously) but there's also two different food trucks that are permanently there: one with authentic Mexican tacos and another with Argentinean fare. The smells coming from both were amazing but it was a rainy day so we made it a short visit. We even got to sample some homemade cheese, while we sat and drank our shake . We'll definitely be coming back very soon!
google avatar

Millie D.

Yelp
Best outdoor dining experience for the entire family! This cozy, picturesque and family friendly ranch is perfectly located on the corner of 232 st and 147th Avenue. I've been coming here for years now. Every time I visit the experience is better and better. From the fresh juice, shakes and food choices they offer, to the welcoming atmosphere. It's the perfect place for a family picnic, friend's reunion, bikers, cyclists and all who pass by that corner hangout spot. For a delightful Sunday afternoon brunch. You can choose from 3 food truck vendors. Peruvian, Argentinian or Mexican food. Delicious!
google avatar

Lyndenise B.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this amazing ranch on my way to a sunflower farm nearby. I was with my grandmother enjoying the afternoon after lunch in Homestead and we stopped by to have a smoothie and juice. We also took advantage of the local jam, honey, fresh banana bread, and ginger root. There is plenty of parking on the premises. There are plenty of picnic tables and hammocks all around the ranch to entertain the young and old. They have a great selection of smoothies (with water or milk) and natural juices. They also have a small selection of sandwiches behind the smoothie bar. Don't forget to take advantage of all the fresh fruit - pineapple, grapefruit, coconut limes, etc. and local jams and honey. The prices are also VERY reasonable. I can't wait to add this to my go-to places for a nice relaxed afternoon with a book and delicious treats!

Keren O.

Yelp
Nice little place, Quiet and relaxing, pass by and enjoy the unique swing while sipping on a shake and eating their delicious fresh chocolate banana bread. Or go during the weekend with the family and enjoy all the food trucks. The owners are very nice people.
google avatar

Chantell G.

Yelp
The place is great! The food was delicious! We had tacos and tostada from the Mexican Trunk and also Shrimp Chaufa from Peruvian truck. Everything was great! Came with the kids and they loved the place. Also, had smoothies, everything was great. We will be back!
google avatar

Anastasia S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely AMAZING! What a great atmosphere to get away from the city life and just enjoy. The owners are phenomenal, animals are so so cute (especially the chickens) and everyone is so friendly! Smoothies are delicious, fresh fruit made. We also purchased the raw wildflower honey from Redland Ranch and this is the best honey I've ever tasted-hands down! They also have a lot of space to lounge and hammocks on the trees! Will definitely be back and bringing my family that visits out of town- what an experience. Thank you, Redland Ranch!
google avatar

Hilda H.

Yelp
On a lazy Sunday I want to be swinging on a hammock sheltered by tall trees and the soothing shade sipping on the best shakes and smoothies in the entire homestead area listening to Carlos Vives, Franco deVita and Fonseca. This is a family owned ranch, providing home made jams, honey of all flavors and made to order sandwiches or tacos. This place is relaxing, its nostalgic its very cosy and homie. The rooster and his family share your space and walk around freely giving you that country feel to warm your heart. I found this place coming from the Koi garden with my wife and I'm very happy we stopped here, its our Sunday staple.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
There are many small fruit stands and markets in the area outside of Miami/Homestead known as the Redlands but after visiting about half a dozen I'd have to say this little Fruit Market is my favorite. The Redland Ranch offers all types of fruit and vegetables for sale for a great price. They also offer Honey and other local items. The big draw to this little market are the fresh made Smoothies and Milkshakes. And unlike some of the more popular markets the Redland Ranch has great prices on their Shakes. The Redland Ranch also has a beautiful seating area with Swings and tables beneath large shade bearing trees. Overall this is a beautiful location to escape the heat and have a delicious Milkshake or Fruit Smoothie.

Yelp
This place is very cute! They have a juice stand and they also sell local honey and fruits/veggies. Our juices were delicious! They have 2 food trucks, a Mexican and a parillada style food truck. We decided the go with the parillada truck and they food wasn't that great BUT it doesn't take away from the place being very nice! They have a couple benches and a swing to take cute pictures with. You are allowed to bring your dog, if you would like. Staff inside the juice bar were very nice and friendly! Definitely will be coming back for more of their great juices!
