On the Grid : Redleaf Beach

"Probably one of the best hidden jewels in this area is Readleaf Beach (more recently known as Murray Rose Pool) - a favourite amongst locals but usually missed by the general public. Hidden down the steps, behind the Woollahra Council Chambers, this Sydney harbourside beach has views to Darling Point and the harbour bridge. There is a safe tidal enclosure to swim in (some piece of mind for us with fear of sharks!) and pontoons in the middle. There is a small café perched above the beach. And yes, you have to climb up the stairs to get back to reality…." - CoMa

Tucked away down some steep steps to Murray Rose Pool….so you won’t pass it or see it unless you are going there. The reward is the view….and a secluded beach and a netted bathing area with the sound of lapping waves. Nice little terrace to sit on for just chilling. One star down as pretty basic and concrete but you could say no frills or attempts to soften the area but don’t let that put you off. Coffee nice.

Fantastic location with mind blowing view. Brilliant little cafe, super handy being right on the beach. Comes with a view too. Not overly priced either. Shuts at 4pm but kitchen closes at 2pm like a lot of cafes in Sydney. So get your food order in before it closes. People tend to leave a bit just after lunch as there is only one cafe so it gets better. Also, there's an outdoor shower and bathroom and changing rooms next to the cafe.

Nice place for a small snack. Long queue. I took a fruit berry smoothie made of yoghurt which needed more sugar

Yelp
Just an update, went to Redleaf for a swim, wonderful weather Sydney's having! and saw the cafe had changed owners. The coffee was superb, my salad even better. WOW! what a change.

Yelp
They used to do a pretty decent Mango Smoothie at the Red Leaf Pool Cafe, but suddenly stopped serving this (and somehow forgot they had it on their menu?) and replaced it with a sugary syrup 'tropical' juice that they make there - but it didn't look like it had a single fresh ingredient in it and it was a bit overpriced in my opinion. The Staff is not very friendly and the opening hours seem to be different every time. To end with a positive note; the view from the cafe is lovely.

Yelp
This place is worth going to for the stunning view of the bay & city skyline. Outdoor seating only, so go on a pretty day. Gets tons of sun. Nice for a chat outside or lounging with a book. The food looked unimpressive, although I didn't have any. Small menu of options, coffee was average and milkshake was terrible - just syrup & milk, stirred. Unfortunately no wi-fi nor any outlets to bring work. It's also more of a local spot, as it's very hard to find and someone would need to show you this place in order to get there. Directions as best I can: In front of the Woollahra Municipal Council building, there is a sign that says the cafe is around. Walk downhill past the parking structure, down the steep stairway. Cafe is on the right.
