"I found that the oxtails at the Jamaican‑inspired pop‑up Red’s House “danced on the back of my tongue, just as they did back in Mississippi,” and the owner says, “We serve the oxtails by themselves because they’re just that good. It’s a big portion, but people have been loving it.” The pop‑up's traditional soul food can be found at Breaking Bread for dinner Wednesdays–Sundays and brunch every weekend." - Eve Batey
Outstanding! No words can say how cool this place is. The people, the atmosphere, the vibe, the decor, the service, the band's, the music, the people, Ellis, Orlando, and did I mention the people? Cool as a penguin's cool bits. Once visited never to be forgotten. 🎸 😎

Red's in Clarksdale is a monument to blues music. No stage, no frills. The place is falling apart. Thats just as it should be. This is a lounge where massive artistic talent comes together to play their hearts out. Just be sure to bring cash for the bar and tip the band!

If I could relive any night of my fairly long life, it just might be the evening I spent here recently. Unbelievable. Don't expect much in the way of comforts but the crowd and staff are very friendly, the beer and water are cold, and the music is likely to be incredible.

If you have an interest in the blues, make a trip to Clarksdale and go to Red's. We were lucky enough to be there when Anthony "Big A" Sherrod was playing and to echo a local who encouraged us to go see the show at Red's - "Big A at Red's, - well that's about as good as it gets".
Red's is a small venue, so small in fact that Big A went around the small room and asked everyone (~25) where they were from.
Do bring cash, cards are not accepted for the $10 cover or $5 beers. Absolutely worth the trip.

Amazing place. Ok, the interior is old and basically falling down, but what you get is the most authentic blues club imaginable. We attended for my wife’s 60th Birthday and had the ‘best birthday ever’. Big ‘A’ was playing with his band and boy, can they play. Looking forward to seeing them in the UK next year some time.
Forget the aesthetics of the place (actually don’t, take it in….they make the place so much more than any sterile, commercialised venue could hope for). The patrons, clientele and band were all fabulously welcoming and friendly.
Big shout out to Big ‘A’ for playing a dedicated song for my wife.

The entertainment is incredible. The place was at full capacity. The only downsides are the dilapidated ceilings and bathrooms. It is the oldest operating Juke Joint, and it is very popular!

If you’ve come to Clarksdale in search of looking The Blues, then you gotta find your way to Red’s. Backed by the river and fronted by the grave, this timeless venue transcends the present, connecting any who enter with a Delta Blues tradition in the Land of Cotton that’s as rich as soil itself.
Orlando, Ashley, and the other members of the Red’s team are not just great hosts, but stewards of a juke joint tradition that stretches back here over a century.
And the BBQ (Fridays, Saturdays) is damn good, too.
Don’t miss it!
