I hear this restaurant advertised frequently on the radio, so I went in expecting a great experience. Between the hype and the location, my expectations were genuinely high. And to be fair, the setting is stunning. Sitting on Shem Creek, the views are absolutely beautiful and full of potential. Unfortunately, everything beyond the scenery fell short. We arrived at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday, hoping for a relaxed early dinner atmosphere. Instead, it already felt like a full-on bar scene. The overall vibe leaned heavily toward drinking rather than dining, which was disappointing given the waterfront setting. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to enjoy conversation and a meal, this probably isn’t it. Our waitress seemed visibly annoyed when we didn’t order alcohol. After that, service quickly declined. It took an unusually long time just for her to return and take our food order, and once it was placed, we barely saw her again. When the food finally arrived, not all of our items were delivered. We were nearly finished eating before she checked back in, at which point we had to tell her we never received part of our order. The food itself was lackluster. I ordered snow crab legs, and honestly, it’s hard to understand how that dish could be done so poorly. Flavor, execution, presentation—all fell flat. Nothing felt memorable or worth the price. Overall, the experience was a fiasco from start to finish. I truly wanted this place to be better because the view is amazing and the location alone should make it a standout. If you’re primarily looking to drink, this may be your kind of spot. But if you’re hoping for attentive service and a solid waterfront meal, I’d recommend finding another place on the water.

Google
We had a really nice lunch here today. There was a little bit of a wait since they were very busy, but it was less than 15 mins. Once we were seated, our waitress was very attentive and our food came out quickly. I had the grouper sandwich and it was delicious. My fiance had their crab cake platter and enjoyed it. We'd definitely come back if/when we're in the area. It is a little expensive, but it's quality seafood too.

Google
We stumbled on this place when we were visiting Shem Boardwalk… Loved the food… Had the grouper sandwich. Grilled shrimp. French fries were delicious. The pineapple jalapeño coleslaw was great. The atmosphere was fabulous busy and the service was magnificent.

Alan H.

Google
The place doesn't look like much but the roasted oysters were so good I had to order 6 more. My wife had grilled shrimp which were also good. We got there 5 minutes after opening at 11 am and they were half full already. In our 4 days in the Charleston area this place has the best roasted oysters.

Waterfront dining, excellent service and great food! Reds is a true vacation feel! The house margarita was excellent and the crab cakes were wonderful! The low country boil could have used some seasoning but the portion sizes was perfect! Our server was friendly and energetic and prices were very reasonable too! The parking lot (paid) can get full due to the variety of restaurants around, however, we did a few circles and found a spot within a few minutes. Waterfront seating is first come first serve but the views were beautiful, especially during sunset. We loved Reds!

William O.

Google
We come to Reds all the time. Tonight we came and I ordered the grouper sandwich and my wife ordered the shrimp po boy. My first instinct was to send the food back but I was hungry and the actual fish filet looked good. What was wrong was the bun. It was on a hamburger bun that was either very very stale or it was over toasted because it was hard enough to break a window. I ate the filet. I tried to smash the bun but it just broke. It’s too bad cause usually the grouper is really good. So my only advice is if the bun comes out hard don’t do what I did. Send it back. I wish I would have. I just worry that the cook will get pissed and do something bad to my food.

Google
Pros and cons for this restaurant. I am solo with a pet. I got there 10 minutes before they opened and let them know I was there. I then waited almost 20 minutes with no acknowledgement and eventually went to the bar asking to be seated. Once I was seated, the waitress was kind and attentive. She brought my pet a cup of ice cold water, but the water bowl outside where we waited was very dirty. The food was very good. My burger was a little pink and I realized I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. When the bill came for 2 daiquiris, a burger, fries and cucumber salad, it was $50!!!! I had seen the menu online where a daiquiri was $8 and is now apparently $13. The burger went up only a couple of dollars. The waitress stated that was an old menu but big increase either way. I didn't argue, I paid and tipped well because it's not the waitress' fault. The patio is covered with fans which is great for a pet because most outdoor seating is not covered and can get very hot. So...pros and cons but not sure I'll return.

Caden S.

Google
Nice outdoor bar. Highly recommend the BBQ bacon wrapped scallops and the Buffalo shrimp po boy. Both fresh and delicious!
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
Great lunch! Was a nice day so we stopped for lunch and Eve considered sitting outside due to the location but it was packed! Sat inside which is fine as we aren't the biggest outdoor fans. Quickly it filled up inside too. Had the small portion of scallops with fries and an order of peel and eat shrimp along with the dip off the app menu. Everything came out fast fresh and hot. Service was great and it was an excellent experience. Would recommend and will be back.

Yelp
Best dining experience we had on Shem Creek. Food was great. Service was outstanding. And the place was divey fun. I loved the hush puppies and grouper sandwich in particular. Good craft beer list too.

Yelp
A stubborn thunderstorm, flash flood warnings and ankle-deep parking lots didn't stop our visit for Saturday lunch. The staff shared extra cloth napkins as we dried a bit and then ordered. Our choice was a small low country boil or a fried grouper sandwich. The latter won and so did we. The fish was lightly fried and very tasty. It spilled way over the large bun. The signature fries were an enacted bonus. Other orders at our table included skewered grill shrimp, burgers and a buffalo wrap. All were memorable. Even amid a deluge, the vibe was fun and creek views spectacular. This is the spot for waterfront dining in Mount Pleasant.

Yelp
I had a cousin come in from out of town and this is the first place we took her to. We were hoping to grab a water view table, but there were none available. It was an hour wait for outside seating, so we just settled for an indoor table which took about 30 minutes. While waiting, we went to the rooftop for the view and to grab a drink and then hung out by the bar downstairs. The high top tables were first come first served, so we tried to grab one, but none became available. Sitting inside, the waitress was very polite. The food we ordered was good. Filling. No complaints. My sister and I had the Palmetto Burger and it hit the spot. I would've ordered more drinks if the waitress came by often. But I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Yelp
You're lucky if you find a spot to park that doesn't require payment. Shem Creek is full of beautiful sights and so many who want to enjoy it... parking has become the problem over the years. So, ride share, walk or get there early! Cause you'll wanna not miss the bartenders slinging up some yummy drinks! Once you're at Red's you can forget your worries and relax there's plenty of deck space for all. And if you want to beat the heat, also window views! We went for a Sunday funday- Think... Cherry Limeade with a fresh taste and just the right radio or tartness to sweet! Beatbox... BUCKET! Orange and tropical. 32oz. Bring a friend! Frozen Lemonade with firefly vodka. Basically a Frozen Arnold Palmer. So refreshing! This one was totally worth the trip! And return! Will return for food soon, but today was all about the bevvies!
google avatar

Suzanne R.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and outside. Very dicey and lots of character! We got our drinks super fast!

Brie E.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The buffalo chicken wrap is absolute perfections i live in Jersey and dream of that thing once a week. If i could have it shipped, i would. Their ranch is also miraculous. Super cool atmosphere and great drinks. Bartenders are great too.

Yelp
Awesome service, had a great meal with the family! Wait was long but that means it is good. Only negative was the hostesses. We had a family give us their table and so my husband returned the beeper and the hostess was rude with him. Other than that it was great.

Bobby W.

Yelp
Waitress rude, management is horrible. Waitress and management decided after we ordered our food that they bring us half of it and then tell us the other half wasnt available saying we still have to pay for. The restaurant beside them literally had everything we wanted. I asked if we can bring the half of our order from the other since they didnt have it hear to eat it together and id walk over and get it myself. I was told no we can finish our half order here then go there. Completely unprofessional and then the food taste like crap!!! Will never come here again!!!

Yelp
We came here for a late dinner. We were seated after a 20 min wait. We ordered a lobster roll, 1/2 dozen oysters, mango daiquiri, and fish and chips. The daiquiri was pretty tasty. The lobster roll was okay. It was a bit bland, bo salt or seasoning and I bit into a shell. I think so melted butter would've helped. The oysters looked big at first glance but were actually very thin once off the shell. Again, needed a good dipping sauce but the cocktail was okay. My hubs said his fish and chips were okay as well. I think overall we were underwhelmed. I think maybe you would come for the view but it was dark when we came so that wasn't a perk for us. The food was okay and on the pricier side when compared to quality and quantity.
google avatar

Misty T.

Yelp
Nice restaurant to grab a bite while you're on Shem Creek. Service was great. Food was good. Drinks could have been colder.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
Know this before you go in. Waterside seating is first come first serve and you don't need to stop at the waitress stand. There, now I said that, we can continue. The inside bar is quaint and very wharflike ambience. The rest of it is totally a Jimmy Buffett vibe. Two bars outside on the first deck. And then there is a crow's nest that overlooks the entire channel. We ordered appetizers which all came with french fries. I don't know if they were supposed to but they were a meal. We had drinks in a bucket and we had lots of laughs. I would stop back again.

Andrew T.

Yelp
I've been coming to Red's in Charleston for years, but unfortunately it keeps going downhill. On my most recent visit, we waited over 30 minutes and not a single server ever came by no greeting, no water, nothing. We eventually just left. Really disappointing to see a place that used to be a favorite decline this much.
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I stopped here for a meal while on vacation. Just skip the margaritas.... Menu says "same delicious recipe for 20 years" or something alone those lines but it taste like a watered down pre made mix. The food was ok, I got the fish tacos and some other members of my group got a mix of crab cakes, shrimp platters and such. The crab cakes were AMAZING! The views from this restaurant are gorgeous, we saw some dolphins during dinner! Overall, it was good!
google avatar

Tori H.

Yelp
So worth it just for the ambiance on the upper deck. The drinks are really fun and the views are gorgeous. Great vibes downstairs too - overall such a fun experience.

Gail M.

Yelp
We were there at 2:30 PM on a Wednesday. We thought it would be early enough to get a table outside by the water, but those tables are first come first serve and none were available. We sat inside by glass windows so that we could see boats at least going by. Service was adequate. They looked shorthanded. The food was edible, but nothing exceptional. We got the low country boil and lobster mac & cheese. The servings were enough to leave full with no leftovers. Not a lot of seafood or meat in the low country boil mostly potatoes and corn, and they served it with cocktail sauce. The shrimp still had their skins on. The lobster mac & cheese was a little salty and I was hoping for more flavor from the cheeses. I would not order either of these again. Due to the travel time to get there from Summerville it's not likely we will go back. The ambience is casual dining with a bar feel. When we try to pay with a Visa gift card we were told we could not. They only accept Red's Ice House gift cards.

Yelp
Ugh the vibes here are great! Sitting outside on the water was everything you needed to make your afternoon better. I ordered raw oysters and the Rockefeller ones. They did have a little grain to them but still were great. The dip we ordered I personally thought was fantastic with flavor but others in group didn't think so much. Maybe just some hot sauce on there would be chefs kiss. Service was great it's first come first serve on the patio and you do pay for parking I am pretty sure. Would love to see some live music
google avatar

Alan S.

Yelp
Always great food and excellent service every time my wife and I have been there. We really love the rustic look and natural atmosphere. We've always had a great time there with cold beer and good food !!
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Don't try to come here with a large group. They separated our tables diagonally & then we had 2 different servers for our 3 tables. My first margarita was missing the salt rim & i had to ask our server to make sure they had the salt rim on my second one. Our "bacon wrapped scallops" had a couple pieces of chopped bacon on too of 2 of the 6 scallops. The coconut shrimp just tasted like the fried batter. We also ordered 2 clusters of snow crab legs & they were the tiniest crab legs we've ever had anywhere. They also weren't cooked right so we struggledddddd to get the meat out. The only good thing from our meal was the red's roasted oysters. If you're looking for a good seafood restaurant, this is NOT it.
google avatar

Ian W.

Yelp
Very busy on weekends. Typical seaside restaurant/bar, cramped inside with uncomfortable stools. Service was slow but acceptable. Crabcake appetizer was good, especially at the price. "Fish and chips" was excellent: Atlantic Cod with a delicious batter. Bacon wrapped scallops looked rushed but was very tasty. Limited dessert menu.

Yelp
What a fun experience. Laid back, yet lively place for food and fun. Ted's is one of the many restaurants on Shem's creek. I would be hard pressed to find a more fun place with great food. Parking In the area is tough, so get to the area early. The entire area is hoping, and this joint sits on the creek. It is a two story restaurant, and the inside seating they will sit you for. The area near the water is a bar, with many tables sitting near the water. The tables are first come first serve. You are on your own to wait. My wife and I, plus kids ages 19 and 15 arrived, and we stalked outside tables for about 20 min. There were only four tables, but one did open and we took it. Our server quickly arrived and took our order. We had hush puppies for an app and they were greats. Slightly spicy but not too bad. I had the palmetto burger that came with fried green tomato, pimento cheese and I added onion. It came with fries. Very good. My wife had the fish and chips and loved it. One kid had the low country boil with crab legs. First time with this but she liked it and did great. Messy for sure! My other daughter had the shrimp quesadilla. Some adult drinks and no room for desert. Fun place and good food. Go. Here. Now.

Yelp
This is not fancy dining and that was exactly what we were looking for. It is a standard on the water bar and dining pace with tv's and great laid back atmosphere. We started with Southern Caviar, Pimento Cheese with Captain's Wafers. Now the crackers may seem a bit bland but what you really want is the full flavor of the pimento cheese and these work perfectly. This was a great pimento cheese. It was fresh, creamy and delicious. I will say, the portion is large, easily good for four people. My wife ordered a large order of fried oysters. They were cooked perfectly, meaning not greasy. She enjoyed them, but wasn't able to finish all twelve. The hush puppies, unfortunately were not cooked well. They had a beautiful golden brown exterior but they were cooked in grease that was too hot so the center was still batter, not good. Also, the fries which they claim are seasoned with Red's special blend of spices were just, boring. I don't know if we just got an under seasoned batch, or if this is the standard. I went all in and got two dozen fried shrimp 4 ways on the Bubba Platter. The shrimp were perfectly fried. You get six each of coconut, bang bang, buffalo and Red's fried shrimp with tarter and cocktail. Now, I usually do not like coconut shrimp, but these stood out and the sauce they came with sealed the deal and I would order them again. The bang bang and the buffalo had great sauces with a good kick. On the basic fried, a favorite of mine, came with an exceptional tartar sauce and a really stellar cocktail sauce. Consider this, what does it take for someone to specifically mention tartar and cocktail sauces? These were a cut above. The service was attentive and they have a server/runner team so your food gets out quickly. Well done. If you are looking for some good seafood with a laid back feel, Red's should be on your list. And BTW, great cocktail and wine selection as well as an extensive beer offering.

Yelp
When it comes to bar food, this place has great options. The lobster dip, poke nachos and buffalo chicken wrap are all on my recommended list. They don't serve food on the tower (for obviously reasons) but I love the dog friendly atmosphere on the deck and the service is always good for how busy they are.
google avatar

Nancy T.

Yelp
We ate here our first night and food was OK and service was OK . We did love the boardwalk and scenic view outside.
google avatar

Dean B.

Yelp
It is a fun bar, but the food was just ok. Ordered the Captains Platter$$$$ and it was very disappointing. Normally the Captains Platter is LARGE, but this was weak. 2 burnt hush puppies. Should have gotten a kids meal and it would have had more food.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
This place is amazing and always popular! Their small oysters, smoked pork sandwich, and hushpuppies were southern fried and melt on your mouth delicious! Outstanding customer service! I love the cool vibes.
google avatar

Michal S.

Yelp
The app requires you to give the restaurant at least one star. If it had been up to me, I wouldn't have given this place a single star. Do yourself s favor and go to another restaurant in the area. Our server was unfriendly, rude to the children, and had an attitude! Only thing good about her was compared to the other waitresses she was not dressed like she was working at Hooter's. The food was average at best and cold by the time our server got it to us and when I asked for a salt shaker she brought me one not even opened and still sealed up. Yes, i had to use my knife to cut the outer plastic of it. When it came time to get the check, we could find her. As we were leaving we saw her sitting in her car out back of the restaurant with a bunch of other employees standing out there taking a smoke break. My bottom line go somewhere else to eat! Too many other options!!!
google avatar

Yelp
We had dinner here Monday September 02, 2024. We were seated as soon as we arrived. There were four of us. We sat inside as the outside area was kinda loud, in a fun way. Our server was quick to come and greet us. She took our drink order and brought them right out. After a few minutes looking over the menu, we were ready to order. She came back in a reasonable time. She took our order and our meals were ready in what seemed a short time. We all enjoyed our food and our rum drinks. Sadly I didn't snap any photos of our meals, sorry. If we were not visiting family we would have sat outside. Inside was better for conversation, for us. I recommend dining here if you are in the area.
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
Considering the restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday afternoon, one wouldn't have expected the server to take so long to greet us and take our orders. The crab cakes were charred on the outside and mushy on the inside, with cold, gummy fires. Notably, there were no drink refills offered. After getting up to search for the server, we had to wait for 20 minutes for the check.
google avatar

Sydney R.

Yelp
Great bar with the worst service you can possibly experience. The bartenders are rude, entitled, impatient, and extremely unprofessional. This place could be awesome if they hired a respectable staff.
google avatar

Ellie M.

Yelp
Red's Ice House is a restaurant/bar on the water at Shem Creek. We came here after a day out on the boat. They have a menu with plenty of food options and good drinks. Service was fast and we didn't have to wait very long for drinks or food. The food was pretty good. I got the lobster Mac and cheese and while the lobster was good, I found it wasn't as cheesy as I would like. The killer shrimp had a good sauce but was a little chewy. I would return here to try new items and for the atmosphere.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
If you are looking for a nice place to eat beside the water in Mt Pleasant, I recommend Reds Ice House. We docked our boat in front of the restaurant and went inside. Great crowd for Saturday afternoon football games! Plenty of seating inside and outside with a beautiful view of the ocean and Shems Creek Boardwalk. The waitress was friendly and our food came out quickly. I ordered the Smoke House Sampler. Omg-, there was so much food! Pork, wings, pulled pork, french fries, and pineapple coleslaw. The food was delicious and a food value for $21. This is a great place for singles, couples, families, and friends. I will be back again to try more selections from the menu.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Came here for the Vikings game while our friends went kayaking. Perfect place to watch a football game outside there are heaters and tons of games being played, beer specials are great and the vibe is perfect. After the game was over a band started and they were amazing. Would definitely recommend for a fun outside watching sports bar.
google avatar

Dakota K.

Yelp
Very good experience! Delicious food and yummy bucket drinks. The rooftop bar was a very nice way to view the area.
google avatar

Northern Dork X.

Yelp
Came here for appetizers on the water. The staff wae absolutely outstanding! We had Pimemto cheese and chicken wings and the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic!
google avatar

Kyle E.

Yelp
We showed up pretty late and didn't receive the looks that would normally accompany a late arrival. We sat outside and our view was great! I may have sat elsewhere had I known that people would be smoking very close to us. As for the food, the lowcountry boil was delicious, as was the jalapeño pineapple slaw! That was a surprise. The hush puppies were underwhelming, but the coconut shrimp were as good as expected. Very pleased with our experience.
google avatar

Brian J.

Yelp
Fun little spot! Laid back almost island vibes in SC! We loved the bbq bacon wrapped scallops so much we got 2! Lots of great fish options ... I think the move might be to just get a bunch of apps and try a bunch of stuff.

Caroline B.

Yelp
Food was amazing & prices were definitely fair for the large portions! You can't go wrong with any of the appetizers or shareables. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy game day so it was expected. Great sports grill and bar. Drinks were great.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Good casual hangout spot! We went on a cloudy day and it was packed on the back patio. The service was still quick even with all the tables being full and the food was pretty good. They have a gluten free menu and the servers were helpful. The food itself was good and fresh.
google avatar

Emma P.

Yelp
We started adding reds to our bar hopping on shem creek recently, and have loved it. We like to get there early and sit up on the rooftop! We love the live music and overall good vibes most of the time. It can get very packed during the summer but the slow season is nice to bundle up and grab a drink! Over the summer we grabbed food and ate it on the boat that we had docked there which was fun, definitely recommend if you have a boat! Always the best sunset watching from shem creek but ever better form the birds nest! There food was pretty good, I've been before for lunch and had grits and shrimp and that was good but over the summer I tried their buffalo shrimp and a few other random appetizers which were all pretty good! I never get a fancy drink there usually just corona or a seltzer but they are reasonably priced. Definitely recommend going either early before dinner crowd or going after dinner crowd during peak season because it can get pretty busy.

JR B.

Yelp
The service was good, but the food was not. The scallops were good and hot, but the fries were old and cold, and the hush puppies were cold, mushy, and tasted like imitation crab meat.
google avatar

Alana D.

Yelp
In short I gave 2 stars because the atmosphere here is awesome but I would likely not eat the food again and if I had to order a drink I would only get a basic cocktail or beer. In more detail, this is a casual bar on the beautiful Shem creek. There's a fun outdoor area with views of the creek where you can often see dolphins and there's live music playing. Inside there plenty of TVs to watch sports and it's a very fun environment all around. Food and drink wise I was not so impressed. I tried the lobster Mac and cheese, fried shrimp po boy and pork nachos. I really was not a fan of any of these dishes. Specifically I thought the lobster mac and cheese did not have flavor and that the shrimp in the po boy were about average and hidden behind a heavy amount of bread. The nachos were the best thing I ordered but there was nothing special about them and the pork was really fatty. Drink wise, I tried the Cruzan confusion rum bucket. This was a fun concept but the drink was so sweet it was really difficult to drink. If I came back I would order a simple drink and admire the views but in the future I'll be hesitant to order any food or specialty drinks

Yelp
Spent time on the rooftop of Red's this weekend and the views cannot be beat! Great place to stop by on a bachelorette party! Would absolutely recommend!

Abby K.

Yelp
rude waitress, rude staff, and food was not good. overpriced and disappointing. not very clean and smelled terrible.

Yelp
Went boating with friends and decided to dock the boat and try Red's ice house. This was around noon on Saturday afternoon. The place was packed inside and out. Many were watching the college football games. We had to wait about 90 minutes to get seated, and it was inside, so I was disappointed. The atmosphere was chaos. People and pets milling around everywhere. We tried to get a drink at the bar, but it was super busy so we decided to skip drinks before our meal. Another bummer. I ordered the grilled shrimp skewers with a side of pineapple coleslaw. The shrimp was average. Two skewers equaled about 10 shrimp so I was still hungry so looked forward to the coleslaw. I couldn't figure out why it was called pineapple coleslaw because it did not have any pineapple in it and it wasn't sweet. The coleslaw had no flavor so I didn't eat it. Our waitress was friendly and provided reliable service. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I think it was nice because this place is right on the water, but overall fell flat. I would consider this average. You may do better to come during the week when it's not so busy.
google avatar

Desiree R.

Yelp
Came here for riverfront dining... but there weren't many options with views. Staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The food itself was okay. Would've loved some more flavor. Overall it's great for a really casual hangout
google avatar

Candace D.

Yelp
Atmosphere - One of the biggest lures is the on-water location. The water front seating and birds nest view are one of the biggest attractions to this restaurant. The generally casually setting is great for lunch or dinner setting. There's quite a few restaurants in a small area so parking can get a little hectic, and it's walk-ins only so plan ahead. Grab a drink at the bar and don't be in a rush. Food - The food ranges from general bar fare, to salads, to low country classic and some surprises like tuna nachos with sushi grade tuna. There's a good selection of beers and the drinks are made to keep you there and ordering. Overall, this isn't a fancy place, but great for groups, and an attraction for visitors and locals looking for something scenic and good to eat and hang out.

Yelp
Food (4/5): food here was hit or miss - Corn and Lobster dip (2/5): had hardly any lobster and was mostly cream cheese. The tortilla chips were just ok Raw oysters (4/5): good flavor, but a little small - could have been plumper Jalapeño bacon hushpuppies : (5/5) prob the best hushpuppies I've ever had! The jalapeños and bacon were really delicious. Tuna poke (3/5)- The tuna and avocado were good, but the fried wontons seemed a bit too - much. Killer shrimp (5/5) - these broiled shrimp were in a "dirty rice" gumbo brown sauce and came with a side of toasted French bread. They were perfectly seasoned (not spicy but full of flavor) . Service (5/5): Our server was friendly and really attentive. Atmosphere (4/5): This felt like a "beach town" bar with plenty of outside seating. There was a storm coming so they covered the patio and put the umbrellas out.

Yelp
I was a Red's first timer yesterday, and I loved it for what it is - a successful combo of dive bar, tiki beach vibe, boat pit stop, and neighborhood joint. It's very casual, lots of spots to hang, whether around one of the bars or at the regular tables. It's an energetic social scene, some groups watching football on one of the many screens, more groups celebrating pre-wedding merrymaking or something else - like the beautiful sunset on Shem's Creek. The folks sitting waterside got to watch the steady parade of boats, paddle boards, and yachts. The food was good - both seafood and meat. I had a pulled pork sandwich and my wife had fish and chips. The tender pork had a wonderful smokey flavor, and came with choice of BBQ sauces. The beer was cold, the service was good, and the place was jumping judging by the noise level. I thought Red's was the perfect place for our afternoon outing. I'll be back.
