I hear this restaurant advertised frequently on the radio, so I went in expecting a great experience. Between the hype and the location, my expectations were genuinely high. And to be fair, the setting is stunning. Sitting on Shem Creek, the views are absolutely beautiful and full of potential.
Unfortunately, everything beyond the scenery fell short.
We arrived at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday, hoping for a relaxed early dinner atmosphere. Instead, it already felt like a full-on bar scene. The overall vibe leaned heavily toward drinking rather than dining, which was disappointing given the waterfront setting. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to enjoy conversation and a meal, this probably isn’t it.
Our waitress seemed visibly annoyed when we didn’t order alcohol. After that, service quickly declined. It took an unusually long time just for her to return and take our food order, and once it was placed, we barely saw her again. When the food finally arrived, not all of our items were delivered. We were nearly finished eating before she checked back in, at which point we had to tell her we never received part of our order.
The food itself was lackluster. I ordered snow crab legs, and honestly, it’s hard to understand how that dish could be done so poorly. Flavor, execution, presentation—all fell flat. Nothing felt memorable or worth the price.
Overall, the experience was a fiasco from start to finish. I truly wanted this place to be better because the view is amazing and the location alone should make it a standout. If you’re primarily looking to drink, this may be your kind of spot. But if you’re hoping for attentive service and a solid waterfront meal, I’d recommend finding another place on the water.
