Yelp
Once they are up a running smoothly this will be my new favorite theater. I'm giving them 5 stars for what's to come.
Long but detailed review ahead to help newbies. (And management!)
Website was simple to nav and get tix. It would be nice to add tickets to your Apple wallet, but I'll live.
Due to the location in the shopping area, it is best to park on second level of parking garage and you can walk right in. If not, finding parking can be a chore. Missing signage left many wondering how to enter. FYI, go to second floor.
Reel is wonderfully staffed. Plenty of sharp people are there to help. They are really selling the Ritz Carleton type experience with escorts and personal service.
In the future, I will surpass waiting in line and go straight to my theater. It seems they want you to wait in line to be greeted and be escorted to the theater. (Part of the experience) Though the intention is appreciated, I can navigate myself and choose not to stand in the lobby waiting for a superfluous escort. UNLESS, this amenity can be expedited more efficiently.
Once in the theater, the seats are lovely. Super comfy recliners, blankets provided and privacy screens are an added touch. Yelpers, please note...remember, just because you can't SEE your neighbor, they can still hear you!!!
I surely didn't need the heated seat, but it's nice to know it's there once the weather cools off. However, I only knew there was a heated seat from reading about it ahead of time. The others in my party had no idea it was there, nor how to activate it.
It can get tough to hear servers right when previews start, so we showed our order on our phone screen. Next time, I'll put order in my notes ahead of time to show server as other Yelper suggested.
Once theater lights are dimmed, the seat reading light is really bright. I used my phone flashlight instead to navigate my area.
A manager drop by pre show was a nice touch.
Food review:
Menu looks great, lots of options. I was torn on what to order. Should have known better, but tried the sushi. Unfortunately, the veggie roll was flavorless and there was no soy sauce offered to try and save it. No biggie, I now know.
Drinks were good but all ice! Even after asking for less ice on one of our many refill requests, we still only had about 5 ounces of liquid per glass.
The MOST disappointing was the popcorn. All 6 in our party agreed the popcorn was not fresh. IDK? But for any management listening...PLEASE get old school, freshly popped, HOT, buttered popcorn. After all, that is why we go to the movies!!!
Some suggested niceties:
It would be nice to order refills and more from an app. If nothing else but to reduce wait time and foot traffic on the aisles. As MI7 was ending in an epic action scene, there were no less than three servers passing back and forth. This is nothing some training can't fix.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. As avid moviegoers, we will be back. But hopefully in the next few months, some of these little bugs will be worked out.
Thank you for the REEL experience!
Take away:
Park on the second floor and walk right in. And if you order popcorn, be ready to be disappointed unless changes are made.
