"ReelHouse is essentially a cruise ship in restaurant form - there’s generic mid-century modern furniture, dads with Disneyland shirts chasing their Frozen toddlers, and food that sounds better than it tastes. But don’t be too disappointed, because you’re here for the heavy-handed drinks and the view, which is the best of any restaurant in the city. In the summer, when the outdoor patio is open, expect to see couples striking Titanic poses." - joel ang
"If you’re in a group and you want to eat outside on a nice night, you’re probably going to find a lot of restaurants that will tell you to either wait two hours or organize a picnic. ReelHouse in East Boston, though, is a seafood restaurant with one of the biggest outdoor spaces in the city, a giant area with a bar that’s right on the harbor and makes you feel like you’re at a summer wedding instead of a restaurant. During the winter, the space inside is pretty big, too, so you’ll always have somewhere to go split a bunch of kobe beef and foie gras dumplings, and chicken wings." - dan secatore
"Admit it, you’re kind of always in the mood for a burger. We are, too, which is why it’s a shame that lunch tends to be dominated by salads and deli sandwiches. If you give in to your impulses, though, head to Wheelhouse, a counter-service place on Broad that makes some really good short-order burgers. These are the type of burgers with charred, crispy patties, lots of cheese, and a bun that’s there to keep your hands clean as much as it is to actually be eaten." - dan secatore
"You go to ReelHouse first and foremost for the view, there’s no question about that. But when the view is legitimately stunning like it is here - a straight shot across the harbor to where the city is lit up like Atlantis - there’s no shame in that. And while there’s nothing to get too excited about on the seafood-heavy menu, it’s perfectly fine for a place where what you really want to do is drink under the sun and watch the sailboats and ferries on the harbor. "ReelHouse is in one of Eastie’s newer buildings, right on the waterfront, and the views of the city are like no other. Go with the cold version of their lobster roll, which comes topped with butter, a nice mix of greens, and the usual toasted bun. Claim a space on the patio, where you can pair your roll with a few painkillers. There’s also a ReelHouse at Marina Bay in Quincy, with equally solid drinks and rolls.
