Refinery Hotel

We had a fantastic stay. The rooms were incredibly spacious, and the bathroom was beautiful. The rooftop, offers a nice view and delicious food. We highly recommend checking it out. The only ¨downside¨ was that the elevators tended to get busy in the evenings due to the number of people going to and coming from the rooftop. Overall, it was a great experience.

Our room 1106 was excellent, corner room, lots of light. Perfectly clean, fluffy pillows, slept soundly even w NY noise. But could not get service to bring us fresh coffee cups/coffee, which was a really tasty vietnamese roast They did send up lotion and body wash, but no coffee despite all requests being given at 6pm at front desk and inout into computer. It’s 10AM now and still no coffee although yesterday room service arrived at 9:30. Also, was not offered wine upon arrival as others mentioned. Rooftop bar is delightful, AC piped in overhead in industrial vents from side walls provides nice cool breeze in hot humid weather. Bartenders were courteous and quick. Guacamole and chips were beautifully presented and tasty. |Nice design in room but phone didnt work. Not sure if I’ll stay here again as service is unreliable. Gym was adequate, clean and cold, easy to access. |I must say, great fresh air flow throughtout the building. Always smelled good.

The hotel is in a great location - centrally located with shopping and food options close by. Bryant Park is just around the corner and it's a great spot to grab a coffee and people watch. The hotel design is very cool with lots of great restaurant options onsite and in-room dining. The rooftop resto is so lovely. Great views, good food. It is busiest from 5-7pm and then quiets down after 8pm. Best to make a reservation. The room is HUGE for NYC. We had a room that was not street facing which worked out well because it was quiet. There are black out blinds which are great for a good sleep in. The beds are super comfy. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The housekeeping staff was always ready to help out. The guys at the front desk were super helpful and always kind. They have complimentary wine for hotel guests from 5-7pm which is a nice little touch :) Overall one of my better stays in NYC. I would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic staff, beautiful hotel with history and charm, and great location steps away from Bryant Park. The food options are fantastic, though there is a lot of overlap between the menus, there are lots of choices and they were all delicious and presentation was especially nice. Don’t miss out on the rooftop experience - it’s lovely! If you’re celebrating a special occasion, let the hotel know - they will make it extra special.

Want comfy/cozy while being centrally located and hip, althogether? Look no further than the Refinery Hotel. Great beds, bathrooms and front desk service... they really seem to care. the rooftop bar/lounge/restaurant sets the evening tone, along with the lobby bar/lounge. steps from bryant park and empire state bldg if that's your thing, you are near so many places. have stayed here before and plan to again and again and again. Enjoy the boutique vibe. Its part of the SLH.com group of hotels which speaks volumes.

Nothing starts off your stay better than the people you check in with or out with. Miguel was extremely accommodating and friendly. He made you feel like your at home and everything is possible. He definitely knew how to man the front desk. The jazz band when you come in gives you a happy feel. The rooftop is beautiful and appetizers are good and my favorite drink was Play it cool. Doesn't taste like alcohol very refreshing. I didn't spend enough days here to take advantage of the tea time but I'll be back!

I just recently stayed here. The hotel is in a great location and it’s very clean. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Mark, he went beyond my expectations and gave me a refinery bottle of wine. The customer service here is amazing! The rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here! The rooftop bar is the cherry on top. Thank you refinery and team for a great stay!

I visited there June 22-24 2024 with my daughter & 2 grandsons. One of the big reasons I chose this hotel was that they had queen size beds! I was finding that most hotels had 2 doubles or 1 king. My grandsons are getting bigger & double beds do not cut it anymore when we travel. The room- deluxe queen- was very spacious! The checkin could not have been easier & they offered us a very nice glass of wine on our arrival. Comfortable beds, large rooms & great service will bring us back for sure! Central location great too!

Excellent stay and service at the hotel. We arrived a couple hours before check-in time and they were able to put us in our room early with no extra charge. I sat down to play piano at the jazz bar in the sleek lobby while we were waiting and as a thank you for my performance the receptionist gave me a free Refinery candle! Such a sweet gift. The room was clean and very spacious with a nice view of the Empire State Building, plus nice bathroom amenities. Bed was very comfortable and the TV had a lot of great channels including HBO. The rooftop restaurant had a cool vibe and the food was wonderful. Great location with lots of shopping, dining and entertainment options within walking distance. Wish we could have tried the afternoon tea at the jazz bar and the cool downstairs restaurant. Highly recommend

My meeting was postponed a couple of weeks a few days later (4 or 5 max) So I called Booking.com. I wasn't looking for a refund, just a credit for the next few weeks. They of course tried to "advocate" for me to no avail. So I called the hotel directly. Sorry, there is nothing we can do was the reply. Now, I travel to NYC 4 times a year and bring 4-6 people twice a year. Was the $800 worth that much. Again, I would have stayed in the next few weeks and maybe more..... Guess, they will never know....but it gives you a glimpse of the mentality.

I loved my stay here so much. The staff was very friendly, the building was incredibly clean, and the service was great. Whenever I needed anything it was brought to me in no time whether that be an extra umbrella, more hot water for tea in the morning, or more toiletries. I actually cried when we left! We had the most magical XMAS in NYC weekend at the Refinery Hotel. We had a XMAS tree in our room and our very own cookie man! The service was out of this world. Raymond the doorman is worth his weight in gold. Stay here. It's just a dream- you won't regret it. Thank you so much for the most memorable trip, Refinery Hotel- we will be back!!

The refinery was good. Not great. Good parts- - Decent sized room. I think I paid $650 per night for around for a "suite" that was about 425sf. Not bad for the location. (It had been $750 but I called them up and said they were advertising the room for $100 less per night a week after I made the reservation so they took that off the tab... very cool. Many places would do that but they made it easy.) - Everyone super cool from housekeeping to front desk to guy that mans the elevator to the rooftop bar. -Nice lobby bar, great overall vibe... dim/cool -AC/Heat worked great -Bathroom clean... everything pretty clean Not-as-great parts: The room did not impress. Super dark rugs that I figured hid a lot of things. Everything clean but a bit tired. I did not want to hang out there. Or send pix to friends to say "check out my room!" Same with the vinyl floors... if you install flooring the color of grime and dirt, it's hard to see what is floor and what is dirt. But I guess that's the whole point. -No coffee in the room and the coffee downstairs started at 7A, I think... so walked to coffee shop every morning. I liked it actually... but I also like coffee in my room. - a bathtub would've been great. (Then go pay $900 per night somewhere!) Bottom line... would I stay there again? Maybe.

We split our trip between the Refinery and the Essex House, and we wish we had stayed here the entire time. Incredible staff, very comfortable bedrooms, and a great location (1 block from the subway). I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the city.

You can really tell about a hotel from just 24 hours - Welcoming smile when you enter the wonderfully smelling main lobby. They basically show you around. The rooms are a great size - large bathroom and the style is great (mixture of modern, nostalgic chic - hard to describe but it all works) Cleaned every day perfectly, it's like you walk into a brand-new room each time you come back from a long day in the city. You are literary 10 mins from Broadway and Times Square. 5 from the subway station and shopping. It couldn't be anymore in the action of Manhattan. No matter the age (I've got two teenagers with me), this location works for the family, singles in for the nightlife upstairs or those wanting a getaway to the Big Apple!

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel! It's a great location with nice rooms! I love the rooftop and the views from many of the rooms are perfect. The staff is really helpful and kind. Good coffee in the lobby! This is a great spot in the city and I will definitely be back. The price point can be high so make sure to look for a deal but book direct!

This hotel is in an amazing location, in close proximity to restaurants, Broadway and Times Square. We arrived mid-day and asked if the hotel could keep our luggage while we walked around exploring. We were told that we could check in which was so convenient. Our room was very spacious with an updated bathroom and sitting area. The price was steep but we were in NY so we expected to pay a rate to reflect that. The bonus was that the hotel offered a happy hour with complimentary wine and beer from 5-7 pm. We never even made it to the rooftop bar which looked so cool. Highly recommend this establishment.

Love this place! It's so sexy and just my type of vibe. I was worried that the room would be small but a previous review said it had great room sizes and was in a perfect location to get to all the action. So I booked it and I'm so glad I did. I was on a Solo trip so I felt safe and well taken care of. I will definitely come back! The customer service was amazing. I ate breakfast at the cute restaurant Parker & Quinn on the 1st floor on Friday. Then I had dinner Friday night and brunch Sat morning at the rooftop bar. I had a wonderful relaxing time there and would definitely recommend staying here. It's a hidden gem.

This was the perfect hotel for a weekend trip to NYC. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was so spacious, clean and comfortable, and the rooftop restaurant was lovely. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a smaller boutique style stay in midtown.

Very nice stay. Convenient to everything, safe and super friendly front desk staff. There's a nice rooftop bar, a bar in the lobby, and another restaurant and bar attached to the back of the hotel. Room was decent size, heat/AC worked well, good hot water and pressure. Towels were nice as was the bedding. My only complaint was that the refrigerator in the room couldn't accommodate personal drinks / snacks. Sure, I could have asked for one, but they should really consider doing away with the pre stocked, wieight activated refrigerators. There are all sorts of stores, cafes, restaurants within "spitting" distance of the hotel and this wasn't exactly the Ritz. Give us a normal refrigerator!!

This is a beautiful hotel, not too big, with dark and moody decor. The room was perfect for two women, large with 2 queen beds and a good-sized bathroom. There was very little outside noise after hours. The staff was also lovely - would definitely go back!

My family had an amazing stay at the Refinery Hotel. Service was fantastic due to the great attitudes of the staff. No crabby, overwhelmed workers. Thanks. The rooms vary in size. Corner rooms are a bit bigger and preferred if you can get one. I would definitely say this hotel is a great value for NYC and we look forward to our next trip.

Spent about one week with my wife at the Refinery Hotel. Location: Fantastic, easy subway routing and very obvious city layout made it very simple to navigate the city. Room: This is where I would make a few constructive criticisms and also add tips for new guests. Pillows were not that comfortable, very stiff. To be fair, I would imagine they have some alternative options if asked but I think by default, like many other hotels, there should be two pillow options with differing qualities. There was an odd motion detector that would flash green every time I moved my arm at night. Really distracting as well as made a noise each time. Tip: Ask the front desk and they can just cover it up with masking tape, it handled the issue after the first night. Everything else was good, plenty of storage and efficient bathroom. Noise: Noise is pretty loud at night but that's expected in the city. Make sure to close the windows as they were open by default for us and wasn't that obvious. -Wife is a light sleeper and was woken up daily by housekeeping at 7am which seems pretty early. It was never for us because of DND but it does carry through the hallways. Sleep wasn't that good as a result so if you're a light sleeper I would look for a hotel which is specifically quieter. Overall: If you're okay with noise while sleeping and can remedy some of the issues in the room, I think it's a good choice. My true rating would be 3.75/5

I cannot say enough good things about my stay at the Refinery Hotel. From the moment you walk through the front doors to the lobby you are welcomed by a beautiful scent of their signature candles burning in the lobby. The lobby area itself has tons of room to walk around and a beautiful bar and lounge area. Checking in was a breeze and the hotel staff was nothing but friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. When we got up to our room we were pleasantly surprised by how large the room was especially for New York. The ceilings were high, the windows were large and let in plenty of natural light, and their was room for two of us to open our luggage comfortably on the floor and still have walking room. Everything was incredibly clean and well kept. Room service was also very speedy to bring up a new blow dryer to our room (since the handle on the one in ours was a bit faulty). The complimentary Le Labo soaps in the bathroom were very luxurious and so were the robes. I also loved the complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning. The doorman also helped load our luggage and call a cab when it was time to go to the airport. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel or experience. I would 10/10 recommend and come back on a future trip.

Stayed at this gem of a hotel over the weekend and will definitely be going back! Went up with friends to see a show and we all loved this place. I've stayed in many hotels in NYC -- for business and for personal travel -- and have never stayed at one I've returned to. This one will be now be my go-to and will be recommended to everyone I know. Why you ask? Great location, charming decor, nice/clean room, friendly & helpful staff (without exception), free wine happy hour, free coffee in the morning, bottles of water whenever you want one (from front desk staff) ... seriously, we didn't dislike a thing about our stay! Props to manager Minjie Liu who is obviously doing something right and with whom I had personal interactions that were really great.

Checkin was nice and smooth. They accommodated early checkin as available which we appreciated. We got there about 1000. Rooms are pretty small but no biggie. Service was swift. We needed more towels and a robe/slippers upon checkin and they were able to get that done while we stepped out. Calling the front desk took some time. It's best sometime to just head down. The room we got was an upgrade but when we slept on the bed first night, bed kept sinking in. We noticed piece of wood under the bed when we first entered but didn't really think much of it since we stepped out for the day. That same night our shower handle came off. And the next day, we were able to change rooms. Working shower, more comfortable bed. Everyone was friendly throughout the stay. The rooftop restaurant is able to accommodate guests. If you take the elevator up, you can easily make a reservation instead of trying to book online.

This Hotel is in a great location. It's right near the park and near a Whole Foods. The hotel is quite nice. They do have scented candles in the lobby which normally I don't like anything scented at all. However, this particular sent was quite pleasing. Not irritating like most smells. Everywhere else in the hotel there is no scented anything. The rooms have an area rug no carpet and the bathroom is tiled. They have a roof top Restaurant which is not part of the hotel. I mean it's part of the building but they are not the same entity. I was here seven years ago and they had the best coffee in the lobby but I guess due to Covid they don't serve coffee anymore. Don't get their candles if you're flying because it sets off all kinds of alarms when you go through security. If you do expect a full pack down and a delay. The only negative about this hotel is it's almost impossible to get a hold of anyone via the telephone. They seem to be slightly understaffed when it comes to the front fest. Over all I love this hotel.

The front desk staff was super helpful and helped us map out our excursions. Our room was very clean and the decor was nice. We loved that the hotel offered dining options and musical arrangements in the evening. The hotel is a great central location and it's close to the Empire State Building, Times Square, and Grant Park.

My husband and I stayed here for one night after attending a black-tie gala nearby. I appreciated the service, professionalism, and attentiveness of the staff, and I loved the high ceilings and overall vibe of the decor. After checking out, I retrieving my car from a nearby garage and the bellhop brought my luggage to the corner of Sixth Avenue so I could avoid fashion week traffic. The bed was very comfortable, the room was full of natural light, and I had a gluten free breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. If I could change anything, it would be to extend hours of the rooftop bar. We only made it back in time for a quick peek before closing.

I had stayed at the Refinery a couple times before for work, but never stayed for personal reasons. On this last trip I had my husband and son with me for a long fun weekend in the city. My son hadn't been to NY since he was maybe 5 (he's 10 now) and was so excited to check it all out. In advance of our visit I emailed the hotel asking if there was anything special they could do to make his trip extra special... and boy did they succeed!! Our room was filled with beautiful balloons upon our arrival which he of course thought was the coolest thing ever! The team also set us up with some really great Refinery treats and swag (my son and I have agreed to share the ball cap because we both love it so much!). My husband, who also travels for work, had never stayed here before and he was really impressed with the size and price of our room (much larger than he was expecting for the cost). And the location could not be better - within walking distance of almost everywhere we wanted to go! I am hoping that the 3 of us will return to NY this summer and if we do I won't even consider staying anywhere else - the team at the Refinery has won me over for life!

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. Perfectly situated right in the heart of midtown. A lot of attractions are a short walk away. Stephanie the front desk host was absolutely wonderful. The rooftop restaurant had a nice ambiance. The restaurant downstairs is definitely worthy of a visit. We will definitely visit again.

I have stayed all over NYC. This hotel is perfect. They treat you like the ritz without the attitudes.If it helps, I'm a member of the Soho House. The rooms are smaller, except here, the jr king is way more spacious. NYC is a tough town. This is a place where you can restore your head. The staff tries to help. Special thanks to Mindy Jaun and janna. It's like being at Soho. Except water, wine, and swag are waiting for you in the room. Hipster bar upstairs. Jazz club downstairs. I wouldn't say I like most hotels. This one I love!

Loved our stay here. Stephanie at the front desk was very helpful and sweet. Room service was very attentive and it's definitely walking distance to many great restaurants and Bryant Park. Rooftop restaurant was nice but reservations are recommended because it does get busy during lunch.

I've stayed at this hotel twice now and was very happy both times. Check in process is smooth and efficient and hotel rooms are very clean. The location is what sold me both times. It's in walking distance of all the "must haves" new York has to offer. In the evenings they have a great roof top. The only down fall is that one of the elevators is dedicated to the roof top, so it slows down the ability to get to your room. Other than that, I can't wait to stay here again!

I recently stayed at the refinery hotel and y'alls need to grab a drink because this is an experience!!!! I have been to the rooftop and have read wonderful reviews about the Refinery Hotel so I was excited to finally check this place out. They have an amazing deal that includes parking in your reservation which is across the street from the hotel, and 2 complimentary drinks that are part of reservation (to claim at the rooftop). I have never been blown away in my life by a hotel. As someone who has previously worked in boutique hotels, every time I step into a hotel, my hotel management hat comes out and everything becomes second nature, and I look at every detail and every staff member. Obviously due to COVID, lots of changes are made but even with that, I was still blown away by the service and the impact. I was able to get an affordable nightly rate for an amazing space and thinking that for most NY hotels like any NY apartments, all spaces will be a bit tight. I did not expect to get so much space! I had a King size bed, with a closet, a huge bathroom and shower with so much detail and an actual desk, and even a corner chair that could serve as a reading nook. They seal the rooms for you so as soon as they clean the place and they even use UV lighting to clean the minibars, they put a sticker on the door, so you know no one has entered your room besides housekeeping. The hotel smelled so clean and fresh, it was seriously the best thing to walk into. The front desk staff was so hospitable, they went above and beyond to help me and guide me through my whole reservation and stay. Once you arrive to your room, you are the only one who can break the sticker once you open the door. I got a complimentary bottle of Red Wine as I booked the room as a birthday gift and had no idea that the owners made their own red wine. I normally don't like dry red wines, but DAMN WAS IT GOOD!!!! I would buy it if it was available online or even in the hotel for purchase! Upon check-in, the person at the front desk was so hospitable and nice, I forgot to get her name but thank you for being so wonderful. The bed was so comfortable along with the sheets and pillows, I have not had a good night's sleep in my own apartment. And let me tell you, whenever I have my dream house, you damn know I will be calling the hotel to ask what kind of bed, where did they buy it, and what sheets and pillows they use as I will purchase that for my dream house!!!! You will be sleeping like it was 2019 (Pre-Apocalypse) y'all!!! In booking a reservation, you get complimentary perks that you can select from, so if you want discounts to coffee shops, tours, chocolate places, or even their online shop, they provide you a discount code for the vendors they partnered with 24 hours prior to your arrival. I wanted to purchase the branded wine/bottle opener and saw it was sold out and they didn't have any in the hotel. When I checked out the GM gave us a complimentary candle, which was one of my top options and I even was willing to purchase another bottle of wine and they gave us another bottle as a birthday gift! WOW! They asked us about our stay, if we needed anything, guided us through everything and he even held our bags while we had breakfast outside. I wanted to place a tip for the team, but the manager did not even want to take it from me and that was when I was blown away. That is a person and manager of leadership, ethics, and quality and I trust that a manager like Tyler, who helped us that day, is a great asset to the hotel and a great leader to a team during this difficult time. Tyler, thank you for making our stay so memorable, for being so courteous and for your outstanding hospitality. They think of every detail that a guest may need and have it in the room. They have water, sparkling water, candy, sodas, razors, chargers, universal charges (all for purchase), but so convenient in case you need it for emergencies. Just looking at the items in the room, you can tell someone went above and beyond to think of EVERYTHING. And I mean everything!! I can not express how much I was extremely blown away. If I were still in the hotel industry, it would be an honor to work for this hotel and team and due to my background managing boutique hotels in Miami Beach, my standards are always a bit higher than a regular guest and let me tell you, I am speechless and blown away. Dear Refinery Hotel team, management, housekeeping, and all staff, Thank you so much for all the details, the efforts, you have done just to make my short stay as memorable as possible. You have me as a loyal guest and a huge fan of the Refinery Hotel brand and I will definitely be back. Bravo to you! I was not a guest here--rather, I'm writing about the bar experience including ambiance and service Sitting unassumingly in the middle of the block, Refinery Hotel is sandwiched between two other buildings, therefore one could pass by it pretty easily. They're a boutique hotel and like many other hotels, there's a rooftop. When I arrived, the line was growing down the block for rooftop seating; however, I was going to play it safe and head to the indoor bar. The decor was lovely and there was a fair amount of activity going on in the lobby. To the right was the bar area with table, sofa and seats at the bar as options. It appeared there was some cheese and crudites available but had been removed shortly after my arrival. Service was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a Pinot Grigio and shared some fries but there were other food options available. The wine was crisp and delicious. Towards the end of my visit, the ceiling started to leak across certain parts of the room (faulty a/c?) causing my legs to get a bit wet. Same for others sitting in the area. They offered drink on the house but I had to get going. Overall, cozy and comfortable bar but somewhat typical of similar ones.

Although the restaurant Parker and Quinn, and rooftop are wonderful, I would not recommend the hotel. The room was a nice size, but dirty- it hadn't been dusted all counter tops covered in dust. Every ice machine on every floor was broken or out of order. I asked for a bucket of ice to be sent to the room and no one arrived. The service was bleak, no one very friendly or accommodating.

Great value in midtown. The rooms have nice high ceilings and the beds are very comfortable. One of the best features of the rooms were the "blackout shades" that worked perfectly and kept the room completely dark. If you're parking, there is a garage just across the street and there is a very useful loading zone right in front of the hotel so you won't need to double-park. Staff was friendly and let us have a late check-out as I needed to be on a conference call that started at their noon checkout time. I didn't get a chance to check out the rooftop lounge as it was booked for a private event. I would have liked to check it out, but there are plenty of other spots in the area for a drink on a rooftop. Maybe next time.

A very beautiful hotel. This hotel goes above and beyond for the guest needs. The staff here and guest service agent communicate all so well. What I love about this boutique hotel is the design and signature scent. The candles here smell amazing. They always have beautiful fresh flowers & keep there bathrooms nice and clean. Complimentary wine & happy hour on some days they definitely know how to welcome you in ^.^ . Also a tip rooftop bar sometimes is closed for private event so always call and ask. This place can get really popular with the rooftop bar on the 13th floor. In the summer time expect lines for the rooftop bar. There's views of the Empire State and a fire lounge area and great djs so of course there's going to be lots of people but worth the wait. The hotel has also a restaurant in the lobby Parker and Quinn and the food there is very delicious. If I had to pick hotels to stay in NYC this one would definitely be on my list. It's a beautiful chic boutique hotel and it's great for first timers in NYC as Times Square & herald square is all walking distance.

I always have a good experience here. For me discovering this place and its wonderful amenities was in stages. I love Parker and Quinn, the restaurant housed inside the Refinery so when we decided to do an overnight in the city and take in a nearby Broadway show we chose this hotel (a couple of times now). It is just close/far enough from the hustle and bustle of Time Square, right near beautiful Bryant Park. We discovered it has a rooftop bar with an awesome view of the Empire State Building while you sip on excellent cocktails, or have a bite to eat. Don't like heights? You can usually find some live jazz music in the lobby as you sip a libation in Winnie's, their lobby bar. The rooms are always comfortable and clean. They have a NYC modern, yet classic look to them. Perhaps the gold fixtures were a bit of a poor choice because they seem not to hold their finish over time making them look a little beat up. Quiet room and the beds are super relaxing. Fully stocked mini-bar, but we usually bring our own taking advantage of not having to drive/travel. There are 3 elevators, and usually one is dedicated to the rooftop bar during the evenings so it can make going up and down a bit slow. The staff is always friendly and accommodating so you never feel inconvenienced too much. Of course it can be pricey (it's all relative), but what isn't in Manhattan? Besides, you're worth it ;)

This hotel is nice, but not at all fussy. Exactly what I want in a hotel. Pleasant employees, and a great price point too (when I stayed in June, 2023)!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend trip and it was great. The staff was AMAZING! From the door staff, janitorial staff, the rooftop people... great. The room was well kept and cleaned nicely. I have no real complaints. The room door was heavy for me ahahaha but other than that it was great. I will definitely save up and stay here again.

I use to travel into NYC every couple months. I have stayed at The Langham, The Knickerbocker, and 1 Hotel (some of my favorites). After a year away from the city. I was pleasantly surprised to find this GEM. Although I couldn't pull up to the curve side when I arrived because no spots were available. I parked ahead (ended up with a ticket under 30 minutes, even downloading to pay for parking). Check in was quick, room was delightful with a rustic charm. The hotel provided a parking garage for a nightly fee. I got the SHE GONE room with the Empire State Building view. The box of She Gone included face care, nutritional items, softest socks ever, and perfumes...(so much more). I dined at the Rooftop lounge. Service was spectacular. Making sure each diner had comforter while dining in a 3 season make shift dining area. I had the basked chicken, which was moist and seasoned perfectly. Appetizer was the tacos. My friend said it was like eating a taco from a food truck in Southern California. Chef kiss. Wish I could have ordered everything. Check out was bitter sweet although quick and efficient. The GM was beyond accommodating. Can't wait to go back. If you are not a midtown fan, take a chance and book a room here. Enjoy a night eating delicious food with the best view. xxo Now I need another reason to stay here.

So as it turns out, the champagne sent to our room was from my girlfriend's friend who called the hotel and bought the champagne and instructed them who to give it to and when. She also wanted to buy the banana pudding from Magnolia but the Refinery manager, Jeremy, told her the hotel would take care of the pudding. Well that's all well and fine, but when you drop off the items don't have the staff take credit for the entire thing. Nor should you neglect to mention that none of this was the hotel manager's idea in the first place. Shame on this hotel manager, Jeremy, for being dishonest. BTW, the manager didn't respond to our friends request to do all this in a timely fashion....as in like weeks. And one other thing, if you are going to deliver banana pudding to someone's room who is staying in your hotel....next time, BRING A SPOON! Or shall we harken back to our ancestral beginnings and use our fingers!

Do not stay here. I had to cancel my reservation due to a breakout COVID case in my 10-year old son. Three weeks later, Refinery refuses to answer the phone or refund my night's stay. What kind if business does this? Did they really want me to bring my sick son to their hotel?

We stayed one night in the Refinery and it is a beautiful boutique hotel in an outstanding location. The location is excellent, three blocks from Bryant Park, easy walking distance to Chelsea or Times Square. We even were able to walk to Central Park, which was about 25 minutes to the 58th street edge. There are subway and bus stops nearby. I prefer hotels in the Midtown and Flat Iron sections of Manhattan from a location perspective. The lobby is classy and swanky. There is a nice lobby bar, some seating and the reception area. The staff wears these pretty unique refinery uniforms. Amanda took care of us and she was friendly, helpful and just awesome. Since we were three of us, my wife, our daughter and myself we needed a room with two beds. This was absolutely the coolest and largest room we have ever had in New York by far. The room was immaculately clean and had very high, loft type ceilings that added to the spacious feel. There was a sitting area, a desk area, a small closet and a huge bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the lighting in the room was awesome. The flooring is laminate that looks like rustic hardwoods and the walls were white with black accents and some funky and interesting artwork. We did not find noise to be an issue. The Refinery provided nice amenities such toiletries, robes, slippers, etc. and a coffee maker. Wi Fi was also provided and was easy to access. The Refinery also has a rooftop bar with some great views and restaurant. We didn't try the restaurant but we did have a drink at roof top bar. All of the staff over our entire short stay was excellent. The Refinery is very, very nice hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations! When people go to NY they usually stay at Public or Arlo. This was thee perfect treat for me this weekend. The rooms are spacious, the amenities are phenomenal, and the hotel staff is so nice (especially Bryce she was amazing). If you can definitely stay here and you'll feel right at home and cozy. They designed this hotel perfectly. Also, try out the rooftop bar. & Also, get the parking the hotel offers instead of trying to get parking outside. It saves you time and money because you'll definitely end up with a ticket or a boot on your car. Oh! they also have Le Labo toiletries. To die for right?

My favorite hotel in the city! Just spent a weekend staycation there and everything was perfect. I love how meticulous they are on cleanness. They offered free parking from the staycation package which was amazing.

Honestly if I could just live here, that would be dandy. Stayed at the Refinery for one week and was thoroughly impressed by the attention to detail and level of service. The atmosphere, from the moodily lit lobby to the tastefully appointed rooms, was refined indeed. I loved the abstract painting in my room and the vintagey fixtures throughout. The snarky graphic cards made me chuckle--what a nice touch. Service was top notch. When I ringed the front desk to request a refrigerator, it appeared faster than I could say thank---. The best part: there's a bar conveniently located at the top floor, so I could easily mosey over for a nightcap before getting my beauty Zzz. Winning in all areas. 5 stars.

Spent a long weekend at the Refinery. Can't wait to come back. Location was perfect, easy to walk to everything. Lots of Uber and cab opportunities. Hotel is incredibly clean and well maintained . We were in the 12th floor and could not hear the rooftop bar activity in our room. The only 2 drawbacks were that there is not a doorman in the late afternoon or evening and the bathrooms doors are heavy frosted glass. Not a big fan of seeing someone through the door sit on toilet. There is coffee available each morning in the lobby and plenty of great breakfast spots nearby. Bryant park is just up the street. We checked out at noon and had 2 hours to kill before our shuttle, we coated checked our luggage and had a lovely lunch in the sunny rooftop restaurant. It was the perfect ending to a lovely NYC weekend.

This hotel never misses a beat. During this stay,the team stayed in touch via text msg. This way I was able to report issues during the stay and situation amended before we check out. We are satisfied for the immediate action and resolution. Thank you. Great service!!

So far, this has been.my worst hotel experience. I live upstate and had to drive down early in the AM to drop my partner off for surgery. Knowing I'd be checking in early, I booked the night before. By the time I got to the hotel after driving for hours, I had to wait 2 hours to get into my room. The most I got was a terse "your room is not ready yet." How could it not be, I was supposed to be here last night?? I finally get to the room and the TV doesn't work. Seriously? Stay somewhere else where they appreciate guests!

I stay in a lot of NYC hotels and I can tell you this one is top notch! We are in the middle of a pandemic and I live on Long Island... we lost our power for like 5 days, so we decided to try to find something close to home. A lot of NYC hotels are not available right now however being that I've stayed at The Refinery before it was an easy choice! I was greeted graciously by the door man who escorted me to Aziza at the front desk. What a doll! She literally offered me free parking, upgraded my room and gave me a glass of wine! My daughter and I are enjoying the clean comfortable room so much we are staying another night! There is also a really cool rooftop here for drinks and food that is currently open! I'll be back!

For her 16th birthday, my daughter decided that she wanted to celebrate in New York City. The choices for a hotel in NYC are plentiful. It was downright overwhelming actually. My wife initially started looking into the larger hotels, but I wanted this trip to be something memorable. By chance, I came across the Refinery Hotel website and was immediately intrigued. The Refinery Hotel is located in the heart of the Garment District and centrally located a few blocks from Penn Station, Times Square, Bryant Park and The Empire State Building. The decor of the rooms shown on the website were amazing, simple, tasteful and designed more like luxury loft apartments than a hotel room. I was immediately hooked. Since my In-laws were accompanying us to New York, I booked two of Refinery's Deluxe Double Queen lofts so that we could have adjacent rooms and a bit more room to move around. After booking the rooms I made several email requests to the Refinery's Reservations Desk and Concierge and received immediate and pleasant responses each time. The Refinery employees were very helpful in planning this special trip. Upon arrival, check-in could not have been easier and the staff was even more friendly and warmly welcoming in person than I expected. We were offered bottled water immediately and within a few minutes were provided access to our rooms. The rooms were beautiful, well-appointed, and extremely comfortable. Everyone (my daughter especially) loved the hotel's vibe and style. As an added touch we received delicious cupcakes from 'Magnolia Bakery' to welcome us to the hotel with personalized notes wishing us a nice stay and a Happy Birthday to our daughter. During our stay at the Refinery Hotel, we had the opportunity to have both dinner and breakfast at Parker and Quinn, located inside the hotel. The food and service were wonderful. For dinner, several within our party ordered the Scallops and couldn't stop talking about how delicious they were. The Refinery Hotel set the entire mood for our special trip. The rooms were exquisite and comfortable, the staff was very accommodating and friendly and overall we really had a wonderful visit. I would definitely stay at the Refinery Hotel during our next trip to NYC. Thanks to everyone there!

Was traveling up from Philadelphia for a company event the next day and was pleasantly surprised by the Refinery hotel. A classic case of "you had me at hello," my first experience was the check-in desk where I was offered a glass of wine with my room key. Not a coupon for a drink at the bar, but a long stem wine glass filled with a beautiful Cabernet. Take that to the room and you'll find not only your standard mini-fridge, but a spread of liquor and mixers that immediately let you know how the Refinery got its name. While in-room liquor is always highly priced the small bottles of BTLSVC whiskey were reasonable enough to buy without being able to expense it. The room itself wasn't extremely large but the ceiling was very high which gave it a much more open feel. The space, comfortable bed and thermostat that worked instantly made for quite a nice stay. My only complaint was the lack of surface area in the bathroom. Could have used a bit more room to spread out the toiletries. But hey, will still stay here again.

I absolutely love this hotel! I stay here every time I travel to NYC for work. It's a beautiful hotel with multiple bar/restaurant options, and it smells amazing in the lobby. They turn the lights down and light candles at night and it's just a great atmosphere. The rooms are a decent size with a nice luxury bathroom. The bath products also smell great! They give you complimentary wine at check-in and coffee in the morning. They also have a small gym at the hotel- not something to be taken for granted in Manhattan! It also doesn't hurt that this hotel has a rooftop bar that is really popular as a happy hour spot. There's usually a line to get in around 5-8pm. Thankfully, when you stay here you skip the line and go right up! Amazing view of the Empire State Building from the rooftop too.
