"Trained in star Swiss, French (and even Australian) establishments, chef Laurent Cherchi is a stalwart champion of the environment. He offers two menus, one of which is lacto-ovo-vegetarian, while the other is all-out vegan (without animal ingredients) – which is nothing if not rare in the universe of French star-rated establishments. All his produce is rigorously sourced locally, from the Cévennes to the Mediterranean (beef from Aubrac, saltbush lamb from Camargue, tomme cheese from Larzac) and the front-of-house team is more than well-versed in the ins and outs of each ingredient’s provenance. Each dish has been endlessly pondered, puzzled over and tweaked, to allow the chef’s impeccable technique (fermentation, extraction) and knife-edged accuracy to showcase the stars of the show: the veggies. Three dining rooms, which sport a stripped back vibe, and the tableware are all made to measure by local artisans." - Michelin Inspector

Michelin-star with vegan options! I was so grateful to find a place where my husband could have a standard tasting menu and I could have a vegan tasting menu, and enjoy a fine dining experience together in Montpellier. Each course was carefully prepared and presented, the servers were wonderful, and everything was delicious. From the vegan tasting menu, my favorite course was some beautifully pan-fried tofu atop a bed of olives and veggies, with a delightful sauce. A close second to the tofu was a course of a whipped eggplant that was smoky and savory with a tangy dressing. The choice of music was perfect for an elegant dining experience; we had a fabulous time!

Reflet d’Obione is more than a meal—it’s a refined, immersive experience. The menu is a true exploration of local, seasonal flavors, presented with remarkable creativity and finesse. The tasting journey included a bouchées platter, two entrées, one main dish, a palate-cleansing shaved ice, a signature dessert, and finally a miniardises platter—each dish elegantly composed and full of character. The service was equally outstanding. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive, taking the time to explain every single detail of the dishes and ingredients. Sauces were poured tableside, adding to the sensory experience and showcasing the care behind each plate. If I had to note one small critique, it would be that the first entrée felt slightly more muted in flavor altho the salad with it was exceptional. But overall, the experience was exceptional—sophisticated, surprising, and deeply rooted in the culinary identity of Montpellier. And you get at the end a souvenir as a thank you gift. Prepare your palate for a memorable ride

This was a bit of a mixed experience. The good is that the savory dishes met and exceeded our expectations. They were delicious. Unfortunately the sweet courses were just okay. It would have been great to have consistency over all the courses. The bad is that there was too much extraneous time between courses. While I appreciate the time to digest there was no good reason for the half hour wait between the lobster course and the pigeon course. The service started out great but as time went on the level of service dropped. The water service was mixed up between us and the neighboring table and we were given someone else’s bill at check out (a mistake we caught). We also had to pour our own water and champagne towards the end of the meal. Michelin star service was also missing when we got up to use the bathroom. Our napkins were not refolded. There is definitely some lack of attention to detail on the service end. However, the savory dishes were so good we could overlook some of these issues.

Chef Cherchi... Chapeau bas. This was possible one of the best expériences I have had tasting wonderful ingrédients expertly and artfully prepared for a very long time. Definitely my top choice for Montpellier. If you want to impress and be impressed, visit this place and enjoy the full tasting menu with the selected wines to go with it. The Sommelier did a wonderful job finding all those local wines that really work well (not very much the orange wine but everything else was just superb). Back to the Chef... he is an Alchemist that transforms simple ingredients into this fleeting, keeps you wishing for more, full of taste dishes. Super Amazing, thank you for the wonderful meal everyone there. (The friendly hosts are super knowledgeable about the foods and wines)

10/10 food using few ingredients and good explanations, definitely worth a visit! creations are out of this world! staff a bit “on script” and sometimes aloof or forget to bring something, atmosphere not relaxed as it is too “proper”, bonus points as chef kindly came out to wish us bon appetit and bathrooms are beautiful. playlist not so good.

Went there for Valentine's Day. Hands down the best restaurant I have been to and a true culinary experience. The amount of effort put into each dish is truly extraordinary, from the appetisers to the mignardises. The wines matched each dish to perfection, and some complementary drinks were truly surprising (have ever had truffle liquor with champagne? Well, I now have). A place that will wow you.

The sauces and accompaniments stand out for this restaurant. I appreciate the thought and effort put into incorporating various flavours and textures into each dish. Points of improvement: on the evening I went, I found the shrimp and John dory fish to be a tinge overdone; they weren't as delicate and tender as I wanted. Secondly was the dessert, which consisted of 3 different ice creams/sorbets on a chilly rainy evening. It was hard to enjoy as everything was cold. Service was okay. There were definitely servers that were more confident in speaking English and some less so but everybody was attentive. I would recommend visiting at least once if you're on vacation here.
