I absolutely love this fabulous brewery in downtown Woodstock, and not just for their terrific beer. With dozens of craft breweries popping up in every major metro area, good beer is fast becoming something of a commodity -- name me a craft brewery ANYWHERE that doesn't have at least a couple good beers on tap. But location and atmosphere are what give a brewery an advantage over its peers, along with access to great food, either from a truck on the curb or a kitchen onsite. And it's those things that make Reformation one of the best breweries I've visited, pretty much anywhere.
First, the beer: yes, I've had better IPAs elsewhere, but their Nolan the Wanderer and Windfall were both solid, hoppy brews, and I'm looking forward to trying more from their menu. But it's the environment, with ample seating inside and out, a deck overlooking downtown Woodstock, a spacious lawn with Adirondack chairs, and a massive library of board games, that's tough to beat. Add to this the fact that Reformation shares its space with Queenie's, a terrific local BBQ joint with an onsite kitchen, and you start to see why this is a brewery like few others.
The only downside to the whole experience is parking, which is tough to come by anywhere in downtown Woodstock. But Ubers are in steady supply, and the brewery is at the northern end of the Noonday Creek Greenway, which connects it to multiple apartment complexes, neighborhoods, and Hwy 92. Reformation is one of the coolest breweries I've been to in metro Atlanta, and one I'll be returning to again and again.
