8 Best Coffee Shops in Berlin | Condé Nast Traveler

"At first glance, Refugio looks like so many other achingly hip Berlin coffee joints: comfy golden couches, dangling plants, and local art for sale. But what makes it so unique is the fact that it’s staffed entirely by newly arrived migrants and asylum seekers. In fact, what you see is just one of five floors where 40 refugees from Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Eritrea live and work as a large family. Weekly language courses, free exhibitions, great craft coffee, and a delicious Syrian brunch make this a local favorite." - Eliot Stein

Just had the best dirty chai latté of my life! Rizeq and the staff are the best, I've been a loyal customer of this place for years and it just gets better and better! Also the soup is UNREAL, like THE BEST SOUP IN BERLIN. Also the place is very warm and welcoming, unlike most stuck-up coffee establishments in this Kiez! 10 stars!!!

Best place to get your work done. Wi-Fi and charging ports are available. Great ice coffee and in addition it’s a community cafe which do not take profits and instead offer special courses for everyone for free.

Cosy place, nice people. Good cappuccino with oat milk. Really enjoyed today their new carrot cake (huge slice, like 300g for 2,50 only!), not too sweet, with cinnamon touch I guess. Bananabread is usually also good. 👍

Love to see the community gathered in this place. No judgement, no dividing walls, just a casual place to connect. Coffee was excellent, some of the best we've had anywhere in Europe.

nice cozy place that has a big sharespace, where events for refugees from Ukraine are held. Thank you for your hospitality. Visited once for refugee event, will come back to you again

Amazing concept!! Our soup was Delish and the coffee was great considering how cheap it is. Would definitely go back to use it as a working space

This place has a wonderful ambiance, and I really appreciate the unique concept of having all baristas as volunteers. It adds a special touch to the experience and creates a sense of community involvement. Overall, it's a fantastic spot with great vibes and atmosphere.
