Regal Mansion Cuisine – Vancouver - a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

"When times call for a proper feast, head straight for Regal Mansion Cuisine, tucked on the third floor of City Square Shopping Centre. There are always diners lined up waiting for a table here, where a wall of Dungeness crab gliding around their aquarium hints at the seafood-focused meal about to be enjoyed. The menu is vast—the dessert menu alone has more than a dozen selections on offer. It's best to bring a crowd to sample it all. From the dim sum menu, pick the steamed chive dumplings with spinach sauce, or pan-fried pork dumplings that will have you ordering another before you've finished. Chicken feet in herbal soup will cure what ails you, but don't skip the chef's special menu with items such as sizzling cauliflower with Chinese preserved meat." - Michelin Inspector

We came here for dinner and the stars were not aligned. The only elevator in the mall that provides access to the restaurant on the 3rd floor was out of order and my grandmother is in a wheelchair. I walked up the stairs and asked the staff if there’s another way up and we were directed to the loading elevator through the food court by the washrooms all the way around to the back (follow the smell of garbage) and from there the elevator takes us right into their kitchen. But we made it! We ordered the ling cod eat 2 ways - sautéed with veggies and in a clay pot. It was tasty but the fish was not that fresh. Sweet and sour pork this was really good. We also enjoyed the pea shoots in consommé and bean curd sheets. The eggplant, scallop and egg tofu clay pot came in sizzling! Very tasty! But overall a fun night out with the family for dinner the elevator adventure makes it a story to tell and a memorable experience.

Regal Mansion Cuisine is the new, upscale Chinese restaurant that took over the former Kirin location on the top floor of City Square. We were in the area in mid-December and decided to try the place out for dim sum. Tables were pretty spaced out and they had the usual temperature checks before entering that we’ve become accustomed to at many of the larger Chinese restaurants. As can be expected given the name and setting, prices are a bit on the expensive side. We started out with the Regal Baked Hawthorn BBQ Pork Buns ($8.88) which had a very light and crumbly top. I wish the topping was a bit more crumbly as it seemed to be a bit too soft. Next up was the Regal Shrimp Dumplings ($10.88). Definitely a different presentation as these shrimp dumplings were shaped like little shrimp instead of the typical round ball. And the best part was that the dumplings actually tasted pretty good. We also ordered the Hometown Style Fried Vermicelli ($22.88), mainly because we wanted some leftovers to take home. Overall, this dish was spot on with the thin vermicelli noodles and the plentiful toppings. One of the highlights from the dim sum portion of the meal was the House Special Chicken Feet ($9.88). These chicken feet were so tender and fall-off-the-bone with a good flavour despite the relatively light colour of the sauce. Last up was the Sun-Dried Tangerine Peel Angus Beef Balls ($8.88) which I thought fell a bit short compared to beef balls that I’ve had at other dim sum restaurants. If you don’t mind paying a bit extra, there are some good dim sum dishes here.

Worth revisiting! 1. fantastic food quality Vancouver's dimsum is already above the par comparing to many other cities, and Regal is taking it to the next level! Not only the taste is authentic, a lot thoughts are put into each dish. Food are well seasoned. 2. Really good services The waiter / waitress literally came to our table every 15 minutes to refill our water and tea (without us asking),. It's my first time seeing such "hard working refiller" staff are courteous, friendly, and patient. Conclusion:. If you are looking for delicate dimsum at reasonable pricing, this will be a good restaurant to visit in Vancouver

I was pleasantly surprised by the fast and efficient service. Not what I expected from a dimsum restaurant. Food was not bad but still an enjoyable experience. Free parking for 3 hours as long as you get the server to validate your ticket.

One of the best dim sums in Vancouver for sure, if not the best! Crispy Red Rice Shrimp Rice Roll is a must have!!! The layers in it is delectable and shows the workmanship of the chef. Salted Egg Yolk Fish Skin is spot on!! Salted Egg Custard Ball is sweet and savoury! Pork Dumplings is one of the best I ever had compared to some of the top dim sums locations here. Reservations are preferred! Social distancing is good. *Food coma now....

I was invited to join my friend's baby's 100th day dinner. Room: We had a private room that has screens, stage, TV and karaoke 🎤 . The room was big enough for two tables of 10. But it seems with all the kids seating, we could have fit more people in. Food: The food is really good. We had mostly seafood. They felt authentic Chinese food. I enjoyed the food a lot. Service: The servers at the restaurant was quite attentive to our needs. They came to pour wine for us in a timely manner. They changed the plates 🍽 for us when it was full of scraps. Even the lady worked in the kitchen asked us how the food went when she brought the new dishes out. It seems that they really care about their service and food quality. Lastly, I want to mention that after the table was cleaned up and everyone was about to leave, I asked a waiter for water. I thought he would be just getting me tap water to be convenient. But he went in and got me warm water with a clean and fresh glass. I was impressed by his act. How thoughtful he was! I felt well served and not being disturbed during my time dining. 🙂 Overall, the experience was great!

Friends of ours recommended the dimsum at Regal Mansion, so we went ahead and made a reservation. We're pleasantly surprised with the food: the portions are generous. Though some have commented on pricing being more, the quantity and quality of food makes the value good. Service was great: all staff were friendly, helpful and overall a great customer experience even though the restaurant was a full house for lunch. Free parking (with ticket redemption) is a bonus.

We had dim sum on a weekday after 12pm when it wasn't too busy. Convenient and free validated parking. Vaccine passports were scanned, ID and temperature were checked. A few air purifiers were placed around the restaurant. Food and service was pretty good. Owner lady was helping out too.
