Regina Experimental Biarritz

Our stay at the Regina Experimental Hotel was exceptional! The staff was incredibly welcoming, and a special thanks goes to Carlos, who went above and beyond to help us with a room issue. He ensured that we got the ocean view we had anticipated, which made our experience all the more special. The breakfast at Frenchie was beautiful, with a delightful selection that started our day perfectly. And the Michelin star Frenchie restaurant was quite simply 'perfection'. Each dish on the dinner menu was a masterpiece. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and family. A fantastic stay!"

I recently stayed at the Regina Experimental Hotel in Biarritz and had a pleasant experience overall. ||||The hotel has a nice, welcoming atmosphere, with staff who are both friendly and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible. From the moment I arrived, I felt well taken care of, thanks to their warm hospitality.||||The rooms are simple yet stylish, perfectly capturing the laid-back, surfing vibe that Biarritz is known for. The decor is thoughtfully done, striking a good balance between modern comfort and the town’s beach culture. While not overly luxurious, the rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay and are well-suited to the overall character of the area.||||In summary, the Regina Experimental Hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for a place with friendly service and rooms that reflect the cool, relaxed spirit of Biarritz.

Very very poor service. On the booking.com it says parking is available and also valet parking. At check-in we parked in a vacant spot in the hotel parking lot. After check-in we were informed that we could not stay in that spot and had to look for parking outside the hotel by ourselves. Valet parking services and assistance in finding a space was also denied to us. This is the first time we have ever encountered such a lack of service in a 5 star hotel, at a price of over 1000 euros per day. After a long search my husband managed to find a place outside, and shortly after that the reception staff informed us that tomorrow the streets are closed and we can't park on the street. Is this a joke? We had two small children with us and were tired after a long drive. As a result, we had to leave our car in a parking lot on the other side of town and return with the kids late at night for over 30 minutes. And when we returned there was no one in our spot, which was supposedly reserved for another guest. The morning of the same way there was a huge number of spaces in the parking lot. Next we saw a Lamborghini parked in the place for people with disabilities. Of course. At breakfast very poor choice, for children there is no food except dry cereals. Waiters bring coffee very long, often forget to bring at all. At the reception we were proudly informed that there was a restaurant concierge. I asked to call two restaurants to make dinner reservations. The concierge replied that this was not possible as the restaurants were busy. We arrived there on our own and got a table easily without any waiting time. At check-in we planned to extend our vacation for one night, at the reception desk we were confirmed this possibility. When the day of the extension came another staff and said that he could not allow us to stay in this category of room, because he had problems with the internal reservation system and in the room for 4 can only put 2 people. But we already live in the same category of room. This day was a holiday in France and it was the last option in town, as a result we are traveling with small children to spend the night in another city. We will return to Biarritz in a day after, but will definitely stay in another hotel. Worse service than the Regina Hotel is hard to imagine!

We enjoyed the stay the rooms is nice with sea view. Breakfast is great but location is a bit far from Center. You need to walk down hill about 20 minutes and bus service is not regular. Parking is expensive and limited.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Charming decor throughout and clean. We had the Sunday brunch when we arrived and were happy with the selections of food. Location was convenient. A couple things I didn’t love. 1) retro aesthetic - as visually pleasing as it was, I found the knobs being everywhere inconvenient. Even the handheld shower was not easy to use. 2) AC didn’t really work. 3) room service food was disappointing, I’ve had better room service at other 5 stars. The burger was okay but the chicken caesar was a total miss. Fried chicken tenders in the salad were clearly old.

It’s a lovely hotel with lovely food and cocktails. The bar set up is particularly atmospheric and a great place to get a cocktail and hang out. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. Unfortunately, I think the rooms let it down a tiny bit. Mine seemed a little tired. I don’t particularly like carpet in hotel rooms either ( I know that’s picky!) the bathroom was very clean and very nicely done. Parking is also a bit of an issue here was well. All that said, I would stay here again.

The hotel isn’t great — the service is terrible and the guest services are run by very young kids with very little experience. For this price you should stay at the Hyatt right on the beach which is gorgeous. The quality of the furniture is poor and the lighting in the bedrooms as well. To me it just feels like too much pattern over pattern and very jarring. I struggled with the service overall and the team understanding allergies and dietary requirements. The location is great tho. Short walk from the beach!
