Denver’s Best Spots to Support on Game Day | Eater

"This Washington Park bar takes its mule cocktails almost as seriously as it takes its sports. The next time you’re catching a football game, order one of its clever takes on the mule: a drink that, here, features Crown Royal instead of the traditional vodka. Options include the Crown Mule, The Royal Apple Mule, and the Crown-ing the Mule — a refreshing mix of ginger beer, Crown Royal, and prosecco. The food isn’t to be missed, either, from pillowy soft pretzels to short rib enchiladas to heaping salads topped with your choice of shaved lamb, blackened chicken, salmon, or grilled steak." - Vox Creative

Google
My family and I stopped here for lunch and it did not disappoint! We had the gyro (my only mini complaint is that I like more dill in my tzatziki sauce, but the pita was super soft!), the Monte cristo- very good!, French dip- also very good, and the broccoli cheddar soup of the day. The soup came very hot and was tasty, but maybe slightly thicker than my personal preference. Overall, great experience, good food and good service!

Awesome spot in an awesome neighborhood! Food was great and the atmosphere was as well! I got the fish tacos 🙂

Google
South Gaylord on a beautiful afternoon is very hard to beat! The old outdoor patio at Reviers now looks beautiful and ready for the NFL season!!

Douglas Basnight

Google
This is the perfect version of a neighborhood bar. The cocktails are solid, and there is a decent selection of beer. They have a nice patio and lots of TVs for watching a game. I LOVE their wings. The hot honey are my personal favorite. The French dip is also worth the trip all on its own. I've honestly never had anything here that was disappointing. Not the most affordable but definitely not crazy expensive. For today's world it's reasonable. One of my favorite stops near Wash Park. I've been many times and will continue to return.

Google
If I lived in Denver I would be a regular here. Fish and chips are delicious and the local beers served on tap are bar none. The service is great. Jacob, the bartender, is awesome.

Heather Smith

Google
We love coming here for every reason! Bottles mimosas, the food, the service, and the atmosphere! Never disappointed

My daughter and I had lunch outside on the front patio and enjoyed a meal together on this beautiful fall day. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately and had a hard time deciding what to order with so many good choices on the menu. I had the peach habanero chicken sandwich with tots. Delicious, and good spice but not too hot. My daughter had the pork belly wedge salad and devoured it. She said it had great flavors. It’s a bit on the expensive side and the music was 60s and 70s but, other than that, we enjoyed it.

Google
My wings and beer made good pairs ngto a trivia night with my kids and some grad school friends. Kids held their own, adults pretended to be smart, and the vibes were all-around solid. Would lose again happily.

Yelp
Stopped here after a long bike ride at Wash Park. Great location. Sat on patio outside but it is covered from the sun and other elements. Busy Saturday afternoon. Lots to choose from on the menu. From sandwiches to burgers, salads and brunch. I ordered the turkey sandwich as did my guest. My husband got the Reiver''s breakfast. It comes with eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, and potatoes reasonably priced at only $14. The turkey sandwich had excellent bread! Lots of turkey, Swiss cheese, tomato, and avocado. It comes with an aïoli sauce, which was really good. You get your choice of fries, lemon kale or tater tots. There are other things you can substitute for the sides. The sandwich was delicious other than the bread was just toasted, and the sandwich was assembled together. I think it would've been so much better if the sandwich was grilled. Service was good. This restaurant was a nice place to stop as we biked through Washington Park area and neighborhood.

Yelp
Our food was really good! We had a nice time. Staff were all professional, welcoming, friendly. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. It's more of a bar ambiance, so it's a little louder, but that was to be expected.

Yelp
Had brunch here with friends and family recently one saturday morning. We were greeted walking in by the host, and offered seating in or out. It was a nice morning and early so we sat out on the covered patio and enjoyed our meal. After perusing the menu I went for the Chicken and waffles with a good cup of coffee. This is a seriously good meal, spicy, sweet, tangy, crunchy and savory. A nicely breaded chicken over a pair of waffles with and egg on top. A spicy hot sauce, with butter and syrup on the side. It hit the spot and with the strong cup o joe, a winner in my book 4 Stars a good brunch option in the area 00996

Yelp
Decent food, bomb wings. Place has a good happy hour with decent prices. Though the place can get pretty loud but that's a bar for you.
google avatar

Yelp
Chantelle was awesome today. She had to deal with some tough customers. It was a no win situation and she worked through it. Great job. We had a great experience.
google avatar

Holly J.

Yelp
The California turkey sandwich is amazing! They also have a great NA beer selection which I really appreciate. And the service is fabulous.

Dan V.

Yelp
Great place to go to watch the big game! Food was really good and priced well. I had the green chili and pastrami reuben sandwich and both were excellent. Brian was our server and he did a great job for us. The management Shane and Steve make you feel right at home. Reivers has a good balance of a nice neighborhood restaurant with a subtle sports bar ambience
google avatar

Yelp
Food is good, drinks are good - manmosa! Atmosphere is great. Great place to watch your favorite sporting event. Friendly bartenders that give generous pours. The lobster benedict is our favorite. We order it every time even if it is not on the menu. If it's not on the menu, just ask for it and they may be able to make it for you. The only problem I ever had here was my eggs came out runny when I asked for them to be hard and it took quite a while to get them back.

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Quick service and the food and margaritas were fantastic. Even our teens loved the food. Was a real treat getting to sit on the front patio. Clearly a local favorite as it gets very crowded.
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
The food has been amazing, came out fast, and they were able to accommodate my food needs. Hope your server was Jackie...she's be so fun, kind, down to earth, accommodating, easy to talk to...all around amazing!! It's such an easy going environment and the atmosphere is clean, fun and if I lived here, they know me by name.

Yelp
This place was awesome, as basically the only casual option on Gaylord I was perfect to catch a cheap bite after a day at wash park. We pigged out on apps getting the fried pickles, wings, and fish n chips and all of it was bangin. The waitress kept our drinks full and thé had all the games on. A great spot especially after a day in the park.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid spot for brunch, lunch or dinner. Their spicy Paloma is delicious! Today I had the California Turkey sandwich which was perfection. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy which he loved (the biscuits were heavenly!).
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
Fantastic food and drinks! It is always lively which makes it so fun. Great gluten free options and so close to Wash park. The service has always been quickly and friendly. Highly recommend!

Mark G.

Yelp
A neighborhood gem. I always order the buffalo wrap or Caesar salad. Some of the best fries in town, but for some reason the last couple of times the fries have been different. But overall love this place. (Bring back the old fries!)
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in here for happy hour last week. The margarita was not good, but the appetizers we got were awesome. We ordered the Prime Rib Egg Rolls and the Mexican Street Corn & Brussels. The service was good and the ambiance was good, kind of like an elevated Irish pub/sports bar with plenty of TVs. Looking forward to coming back soon and trying to grab a spot on the patio.

Yelp
I think I've hit every other restaurant on Gaylord. No clue how I missed this place. Was pleasantly surprised. We came here on a Friday evening for happy hour. Started out pretty quiet but got much busier as the evening went on. Ordered some cocktails at the HH price of $8. Beer and wine are an even better deal. Got their smothered tots and pickle chips. Tots were so delicious and topped with cheese, bacon and tomatoes - almost like nachos on steroids. I'm not usually one for fried pickles - but these surprisingly had a lot of flavor. Our server was nice but a little hit or miss at times - she'd float from checking in a lot to disappearing but I'm going to attribute that to the staff shortage. Overall a great place in the neighborhood that I need to come back to.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst customer service in Denver. Went last night for some late night food and drinks. Our server, after bringing the first round of drinks and food, didn't check in on us again for well over 30 minutes. He was literally talking to one person at the bar the entire time, 15 feet away from us. It's not like he was actually working hard lol. After sitting at the table with completely empty drinks for that long of a time, I went up to the bartender and explained that we were sitting at a table, and asked for 2 drinks, since our server was so disinterested in our table. The bartender made me the 2 drinks, then insisted I start a new tab with him. Absolute trash service from both people that we interacted with. Do not go to Reivers if you want one iota of good customer service. Dear management: feel free to watch the camera footage if you doubt the veracity of any of this review.
google avatar

Savannah K.

Yelp
Reiver's has something for everyone--from soup/salad to bowls to burgers to steak to pasta and more. They have a good drink selection as well. Inside there is a decent amount of TVs if you want to catch a game. Great staff! Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Update August 16 '24: "We did go back recently to see if things had improved. Good to walk in and hear the music at a decent level, also heavy metal not blasting away. Good improvement. Hope it stays this way as a courtesy to their patrons of all ages. It's appreciated" What a shame this local place is going down hill. Still LOUD heavy metal/grunge music playing so loud you can't talk to each other. And those drinking at the bar chatting aren't even paying attention to the high-level decible noise blasting overhead. I love music but turn it down over eating area. BEWARE.. our waiter offered to put our salad dressing and some mayo for a sandwich on the side. Ah... yes he charged us $.50 for each item on the side. Huh? No mention when ordering. We are just so disappointed in one of few restaurants on Gaylord who has more potential with menu, staff, and music. Consider restaurants on Gaylord instead?

Yelp
First restaurant we visited on our trip to Denver and it was great. Hostess was outstanding and extremely friendly. Live music was good. Food came out really fast for our table of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Server was cool and attentive. Great welcome to Denver hospitality and will visit again on our next trip. Would definitely recommend!

Amy C.

Yelp
We love this place! It has such a great vibe & the service is really good. I ordered the BLT & it's the best one I've ever had! So good
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Stopped in last night for a pint and a bite at the bar and had a fantastic time with our bartender Sean. Our appetizers came out quick, hot and delicious and the entree was impeccable. This is a great spot to catch the Avs/Nuggets as they have DIRECTV and there are so many TVs!! Can't wait to come back!!
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
A great choice for summer, they have a really cute outdoor patio and open window. The service was fast and friendly and food was alright (especially the tater tots) but it had more of a sports-centered atmosphere than expected

Shelley K.

Yelp
Steve is absolutely AMAZING! Love the food and the service. We recently hosted my daughter's baby shower on the back patio and it was a beautiful venue!!!
google avatar

Cin Q.

Yelp
The food here is top notch! Steve might be the best restauranter in Denver. Fully recommend!
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
I came in for my first experience at this location with a large group. Most of the servers were friendly. Parking was a bit difficult to find. We had a variety of delicious appetizers from nachos, pretzels with dip, buffalo wings, fried pickles, and more. Everything tasted delicious. I enjoyed a couple beers in a casual ambiance. Our server was focused on clearing our tables. I believe I would enjoy coming back for a date night in the future. I did not take any photos of the food items on this trip.
google avatar

Maya K.

Yelp
Best ambiance, food, service and drinks aprons this side of Denver for sure. The owner is Greek so the food has Greek vibes to it but the freshness, the taste and the flavor is unlike any other! The food is very organic and tastes fresh and flavorful for sure. Been here twice and will definitely be back. I ordered the crepes once for Brunch and being French I know crepes and these were to die for. Also had the deviled eggs and the kale parm salad with blackened chicken. Very flavorful, juicy and not dry at all, actually one of the best I've had. The bartender Josh is very friendly and accommodating. You need to try out this place for sure if your just walking around wash park or just looking for a new spot !

Yelp
Great spot on Gaylord Street for a good old fashion burger and watching sports. My party of three came here spontaneously after a long bike ride near Washington Park. This is a great spot to visit walking distance from Washington Park. It was also my friends birthday so we wanted to treat him to a good meal. They have mostly burgers but a few other bar food options and some good looking salads. We came here around noon on a Saturday, it was a bit busy but we did not have a wait for three people. The wait staff we're kind, our waitress was a little bit annoyed when we were not ready to order, other than that everything was great. I ordered a apple jam burger with arugula medium rare. The burger was extremely tasty the bun is high quality bread, my only complaint would be the amount of sweet potato fries that was given even though you have to pay extra. I would want to try other restaurants and Gaylord Street before coming back but it was a solid place
google avatar

Peace Y.

Yelp
I don't often crave a burger, but this day I was, and Reiver's delivered on a fabulous lunch burger. Perfectly medium rare, crisp veggies, and extra crispy fries. Soft interior bun. Reasonable price, as well. I walked up near the end of lunch rush, maybe three tables sat after me. Sat on the patio. No attitude for being solo, just friendly and swift service, and no hustle to get me out of there. Is it usually quiet? No, I've walked by for years, and it's a happy happy hour kind of place. But, about 1:30 pm, on a weekday, it was fairly empty, and therefore, quiet.

Vicky F.

Yelp
The music, service, food, and ambiance are amazing. I recommend the Roadhouse Salad and Gaylord BLT. Be sure to visit!

Douglas K.

Yelp
Please ignore the reviews below 4 stars on this place. This place is fantastic. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Go here.
google avatar

Eli L.

Yelp
Just went for a drink. The selection was good and the live music was nice in the background.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
They've got the bar, they've got the grill. Can't really ask for much more! I will say that for a bar, their menu is quite diverse. I had the short rib rice bowl while others in my group had the Caribbean bowl and short rib stroganoff. The rice bowls were a little lacking in flavor, but the stroganoff made up for it. I guess if you're going to a bar, stick to the bar classics like that or burgers (the ones coming from the kitchen looked awesome!). The ambiance is your typical bar scene. Good music, TVs to watch sports, and a super friendly/attentive staff there to fill your beer up when you need it. Overall, it's fun to go to a place like this that's more laid back and less assuming than some of the more "uppity" spots you'll see on Gaylord street.

Sarah A.

Yelp
A great neighborhood hangout. Nice menu, a lot of great options to choose from, reasonable portions and friendly bar staff. Would love a bigger tap beer menu, more diversity, but they seem to cater to regular guests. Good happy hour spot, good TV's for games on "regular" cable channels (no PAC-12 network).
google avatar

Colormac T.

Yelp
Great salad, chill atmosphere during the day, mid week. Quick service, pleasant service. Will be back for sure :)
google avatar

Mitch C.

Yelp
2 stars as drinks were good. Food is not good. We are locals and something changed in the kitchen. Imagine you are on an airplane. The plane is delayed 6 hours and you are hungry. The flight attendant discovers sone food...it is likely low quality but you will eat it. That food is what you will encounter at Reivers. We had nachos with stale chips and not enough cheese. We had a chicken gyro with chicken that reminded me of what i might eat in Kabul. 2 stars because the drinks were good. Please up you game on the food side. Yes I know you are a bar but food was horrid.

Emma A.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. The staff is made up of little girls who have attitudes and food with human hair in it. I kid you not. My appetizer had a hair in it. My main entree had a hair in it. Back to back. This place is just not clean at all. All you will be paying for is the reasonable pricing based on the area. It is a run down bar and grill. So 1. Poor service 2. Poor hygiene 3. Only paying for location. Here are a few pictures to help with the imagination. I forgot to take a picture of the second plate with a second piece of hair!!!
google avatar

Allie R.

Yelp
Oh my.. awful service. Was not notified by server it was happy hour. Had to flag down a different server to point out food issues. Mediocre food. Coleslaw tasted old and funky. Carrots and celery served with the wings were visibly dried out and should not have been served. Wings were super dried out. Asked for another side to replace the coleslaw and got chips, at least they were decent. Server said he would bring new carrots and forgot twice. Hadn't been here in about 10 years and won't be coming back in the next 10 years.
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
The vibe of this place is so cool!! The beef stroganoff will change your world. I've never had better! Justina's service was excellent and she never missed a beat. I'll be back!!!
google avatar

Aaron A.

Yelp
Bottomless wing Wednesday's! $9 plus purchase of a drink! Good wings, good price! Wings were smoked and then fried before being doused in the sauce of your choice, and served with ranch or blue cheese. Served in quantities of five. Buffalo sauce is dang good! Tried the Atomic sauce which was just a tad spicier but had less flavor, so I stuck with the buffalo for the remainder. I sat at the bar and was served by the bartender who was a cool dude. Service was generally good and timely, no complaints there. TVs for every angle, would be a great spot to watch the home team. Wings weren't the best I've had, but were pretty darn good, though a little on the smaller side (to be expected with bottomless). Probs wouldn't eat here if it wasn't for the wing deal in all honesty. Standard bar food

Josh S.

Yelp
Food is awesome, live music and fun staff. Good neighborhood hangout vibes but not a dive. Will go back!

Greg M.

Yelp
Oh this place is awesome!!!! Last night we made our way over to reivers (my buddy's recommendation) and had a fabulous dinner. The jam burger was delicious and the drinks were even better!!! Our waitress answered every question my wife asked and made even a picky eater feel at ease. I would and will recommend coming here to everyone I meet.10 out of 10

Susan H.

Yelp
I called only a few hours earlier (on a Saturday night) to make a reservation for 6. We were accommodated immediately! The hostess was super sweet when I told her it was my daughter's birthday. This place has been around since the late 70's, which is a huge accomplishment on its own! Clearly, the new management has made huge changes, not only to the menu but also the entire atmosphere. It's clean, open and has a great vibe. We ordered (a lot of specialty drinks and wine) booze and an appetizer. The drinks were great. The nachos are huge and definitely were enough for 6 people. One guest got the rellenos and they were amazing-not spicy, just really flavorful. Burgers were great. I got the French dip and it was awesome! The fish and chips were also very well received. Our server gifted us carrot cake for the birthday girl... I am assuming it's house made? It was so good...it had to be made on site. It's so nice to support local, old school businesses. It's also nice that they (Reiver's) love their locals and guests.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Hector is an amazing bartender. Attentive and very personable ! 11/10 will be back to Ingas!

Yelp
Enjoyed my recent lunch here at this Washington Park, a good combination of customer service, quality food options, and a terrific overall atmosphere on one of Denver's coolest neighborhood locations. Went with a couple of friends, and we all enjoyed our menu choices. I had their BYO Beef Burger, which was really good, loved the applewood bacon and their seasonings, plus the sweet potato fries were so good. One of my friends loved the Crispy Relleno Entree, and the other liked the Bowl of Green Chili! Quality server, Chelsie, and a nice vibe in the building. Street parking.

Mason K.

Yelp
I have been going to Reivers for 6 years. I went last night with a group of friends. This place has gone completely downhill. It's not the neighborhood bar it use to be. The new management is terrible. They don't understand customer service or how to treat loyal patrons. Not to mention the staff is aggressive and shout things at patrons. They've lost my business and everyone else in the neighborhood who's spent a small fortune supporting this establishment. Do yourself a favor and go to anywhere else on Gaylord street.
google avatar

Mariah W.

Yelp
I went here with some friends and loved it. Service was pretty good for how busy it was and the waitress was very nice. I got the California turkey with no avacodo and it was really good. Probably one of the best sandwiches I've had. The sweet potato fries were subpar though. They were overcooked and extra crispy. I would highly recommend except the sweet potato fries.

Derek V.

Yelp
It seems that Reiver's recently updated their menu and it is still outstanding. Great location despite the parking issues in Old Gaylord. Take public transportation. The service is good. And the atmosphere is nice.
google avatar

Michael Y.

Yelp
My wife and I are big fans of the Brussel sprouts! Great place for a quick beer and food.
