"Restaurant HEIMAT, Auerhahn Stuben, Bayern Stuben and Tiroler Stuben – the elegant hotel of the same name, which also has a spa, offers diners a variety of restaurant option, all of which are elegant and inviting. The terrace, in particular, with its panoramic mountain view is quite an event – it's a great place to soak up the idyllic surroundings! The cuisine is seasonal, with an emphasis on sustainability; the majority of the ingredients come from within an 80km radius. The menu also features classics such as Wiener schnitzel or chateaubriand for two." - Michelin Inspector

This was our second visit to Gut Steinbach - we only stayed two night on the previous occasion as we used it to break a journey. We loved it so much that we came back for a week. We were slightly worried that it wouldn’t be as lovely as we remembered but it was! The staff are a real credit to the hotel and everyone was friendly, engaged and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. As the only English people for much of our stay they made us feel very welcome and were very patient with our rather pathetic attempts to speak German. I feel we have made some friends!||The food was sensational. A really interesting and varied menu. I think I had the Bavarian meatloaf three times it was so good and the potato and cucumber salad was to die for. We also tried lots of the specials - everything was good. And actually really reasonable. ||I’m surprised that a previous reviewer didn’t like the location. We walked into Reit Im Winkl several times and it took about ten minutes so very easy. The hotel is in such a lovely with great walking and biking direct from the door. I also really enjoyed the yoga sessions. ||We are already planning our next trip back

Incredible experience here! We rented a chalet with my wife and another married couple we're close friends with, in November for just a weekend. Really a beautiful setting surrounded with traditional bavarian alpine chalets and mountains. There are deer enclosures and other enclosures with animals, which adds to its authentic charm. Our chalet had 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, a large living room with a cosy fireplace, kitchen and terrace The food in the evening was fanominal. Each course was carefully put together with original flavours and presentation. There wasn't a single element I could fault. Breakfast had everything you could want from bavarian cuisine with both buffet and al la carte ordering (at no extra cost) of hot dishes like from weisswurst and pretzel or eggs however you want with sausages and or bacon. One morning, we ordered breakfast to the chalet and was very impressed with the presentation and delivery of the meal, it was a real treat! We made the most of the spa and sauna with excellent facilities, which added to our relaxing getaway. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Best hotel that we have been to in the last few years, and why I will come back: — the location. Directly beside the wood. Lot’s of protected wildlife around. Surrounded by mountains. Hikes and Klam are close bye. You can start directly from the hotel. We went to the Klam though and it was completely dry :(( — the hotel itself. It’s a combination of luxury and comfort and it still gives you a local homey feeling. The swimming pool and spa are amazing. 3 high quality saunas. — the staff are genuinely nice. We came here with a baby and they always helped us find solutions. — the interior design. Impressive. How they mixed up modern interior into a very old house and landscape. The restaurant has 3 rooms each with a different decor and all very comfortable and yet modern and luxury. — the food. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. Also lots of options to order from the menu which is included in the breakfast (you don’t have to pay extra). The dinner is also very delicious but also quite pricey. Will come back!

Stayed in one of the chalets for three nights. Fully equipped with everything needed for a long and wonderful stay. Comfortable in every way possible. Large bathrooms with all the amenities. Siting areas inside and outside (two patios). Very private and very quiet. Large sauna in the chalet. Outside of town – follow the directions. A deer park and Yaks across from the parking lot. Multiple ski jumps at the rear of the property. Breakfast is plentiful, service outstanding, very typical for Tyrol. Dinner is in multiple rooms all in typical Bavarian wood style. The dinner experience, with the Christmas decorations and menu to match the season, was spectacular. Wine prices are reasonable and look for the values from Baden. Service with everyone you encounter is friendly, with multiple languages spoken. Great experience in every way.

We spent a few wonderful, relaxing days there with our young family. Gut Steinbach offers everything you could wish for on a family wellness vacation: excellent food, good service, a quiet atmosphere, spacious rooms, a great spa area and friendly guests. The area offers many possibilities for activities. We would love to come back and are already looking forward to our next stay.

We though the hotel was in the town; as a matter of fact it is a couple of miles away. No walking to the city. The seting is OK. But nothing extraordinary ( like one would expect for a Relais Chateau). Room is nice. Good size, outside veranda. Bathroom OK. Weak water pressure on the shower. We got out of the shower to realize they had forgotten to leave towel in the room. The internal telephone system of the hotel was broken. I had to reach my phone and make an international call to reception in order to get towels…|We rook the half board option. Dinner was “sad”. Just plain food. Far from what we imagined we would get at a relais chateau. |Next day for breakfast, we ordered sunny side up eggs with bacon. The kitchen took 15 minutes to bring them. They were ugly in the look, and overcooked. The bacon was black and dripping oil.

Gut Steinbach offers a beautiful, quiet location, with hiking trails to nearby waterfalls and mountain huts, as well as a fantastic restaurant and wellness area on the premises. As an expat from a country with a very strong service culture, I am often underwhelmed by the service, but the team at Gut Steinbach was on a different level from anywhere else I've stayed in Germany. From check-in, to the spa, restaurant, and breakfast, the staff were truly excellent. For me, they were the highlight of the stay - and that's high praise, because the restaurant was very good! The restaurant experience was exceptional, and combined fine dining quality food with alpine influences (and portion sizes - we were more than satisfied at the end of the evening). We tried the fish, pasta, and risotto dishes, and were very happy with all of them. The Kaiserschmarrn was quite good, but for me the only part of the meal that didn't quite live up to expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the wellness facilities as well - they were never overly full (both in the evening and during the day), were very clean, well thought out, and offered a good variety. We missed having a cold plunge pool or pond teach close to the hottest saunas, but that's definitely "jammern auf hohem Niveau".
