We have been trying to find a good romantic luxury hotel in Austria that is close to good skiing, has amazing food, and a large spa that offers a separate family area and a large adults only non-textile area. When we found Jagdhof we thought it ticked all the boxes for our romantic holiday, bad sadly we were disappointed. ||Stubai glacier is great for skiing and snowboarding and the free hotel shuttles to and from the ski resort are great. It's a quick journey, and very easy. The hotel has ski lockers by the van loading point but I would recommend they have a screwdriver for adjusting bindings, etc in the lockers. We asked for a screwdriver at the reception and were told nothing was available (disappointing), but after asking one of the ski shuttle van drivers they loaned us one (good customer service). Unlockable ski lockers so don't leave valuables. Maybe just have reception or the van drivers give a little more information such as, this spot is where we will pick up in the afternoon too, the van stops at two places, etc. We would come back to this hotel for the skiing.||Food, amazing, but we found the coffee too bitter. Alexander the waiter - great. Olivia the waitress - amazing. Gabriel the waiter - fantastic. He remembered what we like and started having our drinks ready every night. Great service. Why did we have 3 waiters? Because we as a adult couple this trip was for us to have a romantic holiday together. Being sat in a dining room with lots of children is not our idea of a romantic dinner, so we asked to be moved, twice. Finally on the third time the hotel found a nice quiet spot which we loved. My feedback to the hotel is perhaps check with your guests what kind of dining experience they are looking for before assigning them a table for the week. Apparently, you need to request the best tables in advance when you make your room reservation. The live music in the bar area and casino night was nice. We found in our room that the WIFI wasn’t very strong. It seems our room was above the kitchen so everyday around 3pm you would hear what sounds like someone banging repetitively on the floor with a hammer. Not good if you plan on having a nap after ski. We would come back to this hotel for the food and service, but NOT for the romantic ambience.||And finally the spa. The spa experience is so important to use that I emailed the hotel several times to confirm the details before we booked. Having a large adults only non-textile area with pool is important to us so I made a point of confirming this with the hotel. This was the most disappointing part of our trip and the reason we will not return. Yes the spa area is big, it is lovely, but it was not what the hotel advised us it was. Below is the conversation:||23 Sep 2024 10:22|To help me understand what those areas are can you please advise from this link or picture what floor and what numbers are textile free?||23 Sep 2024 10:29|Dear Mr. XXXX|thank you for your kind message. The pool area (Ground Floor - numbers 10-15) are textile area. The rest is the sauna area and therefore textile free.|Yours Sincerely, Anna Deutschmann.||23 Sep 2024 11:11|Thanks you for your fast reply. And all of the Vitality World Lower Ground floor is also textile free?||23 Sep 2024 12:30|Dear Mr. XXXX,|thank you for your kind message. Exactly, the Lower Ground is part of the sauna area and is textile free.|Yours Sincerely, Anna Deutschmann||You will see from the image that the lower ground floor (adults only) has a wonderful whirlpool in the centre (number 3) with fantastic rooms to visit all around, BUT, unlike what we were advised, this is not textile-free. This meant that we could not use all of the lower ground facilities as we did not bring swimsuits, so the spa area for us was much smaller that we were told. You will see from my photo there is only a smaller textile-free area in the corner, and upstairs there is a small sauna and outside plunge pool that is textile-free. ||On two occasions we saw people on their phones in the whirlpool which does not give much privacy to the people who are using the textile-free area. I would suggest the spa needs some staff walking around and reminding people about not using phones. The fruit, tea, water in the spa was nice. The relaxation rooms are nice. We would NOT return to this hotel because the non-textile area is too small. ||I believe that if you come to this hotel with no expectations you will be impressed as it has alot going for it. It's just not what we wanted for a romantic trip away.
