"Whether seated in one of the comfortable dining areas or the light and airy pavilion, you can look forward to cuisine that is ambitious, classic and regional, ranging from the intriguing "Villa Lunch" set menu to the "Feinschmecker-Menü" in the evenings. Options include turbot fillet fried in olive oil accompanied by Hokkaido pumpkin and dried apricot relish with walnut. Delightful terrace." - Michelin Inspector
Very tired room, ripped upholstery, seriously stained furniture and carpets, black rust coming from bathroom pipes. It looks like it hasn’t been decorated in many decades, it really needs to be redone. The service was friendly, the food was good, but the place is seriously let down by the terrible state of the rooms and decor. Outrageous given the price of a room.

Our stay at this hotel was outstanding in every way. The crew was incredibly lovable and super caring, always going above and beyond to help with anything we needed. The 24/7 swimming pool and bar were fantastic features, and the pool's child-friendly environment made it perfect for families.||||Our room was very spacious and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. The restaurant and morning buffet were perfectly situated in the Japanese garden, creating an utterly amazing experience to start the day.||||The combination of an outstanding crew, prime location, and excellent facilities made our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a superb and enjoyable experience.

Villa Hammerschmiede is an idyllic, romantic hotel that is very nicely tucked away in a forest and a major road, making it quiet but also easily accessible.
Before we booked a room here we had read some reviews that it was old and past glory and too expensive for what you got. We disagree. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a stately, chic building. The rooms are very clean and the beds are great! The Spa is also well worth it; including hot tub and saunas.
If you like sleek and modern this is not for you, but if you like romantic and a bit rural this is a perfect hotel!
When we are in the Schwarzwald area, we will be coming back for sure.

Allocated a huge bedroom. Good décor & very clean. Provided with a large fan which was very welcoming in the humid weather. Room had the most tiniest of balconies, so sweet. For the first time in 9 nights we had no kettle or coffee machine in the room. Bottle of water provided.|Small glass of sparkling on arrival. Terrible internet in the bedroom, if you stood by the door it was much better.|Breakfast buffet was good quality with eggs cooked to order. Lovely patio area to eat alfresco. Dinner was well presented and friendly & very efficient service. Our menu did have petit Fours included however we did not get them offered. Would return again if in this area.

We had a few very nice stays here a couple of years ago, but our latest stay was a little disappointing. It was still OK, but the VIP treatment and excellent food that we experienced before is no longer present. The hotel also showed some signs of neglect, and needs maintenance. Food was moderate, nothing like the Michelin star quality of a few years ago. I will not return here anymore, unless the manager decides to perform a major reorganisation.

We had a very nice Lunch with friends from abroad after a walk from our home through the Pfinz valley woods. Excellent cooking, friendly familiar service and nice place to be in that old factory directors villa restaurant.

My wife and I stayed just for one night on a driving tour. Whilst the rooms and décor are possibly a little dated the hotel exuded a delightful quirky charm.
Our dinner was very good indeed, enhanced by the engaging and friendly Irish restaurant manager (whose name I'm embarrassed not to remember), who guided us through a fabulous selection of German wines by the glass. Definitely worth a visit.
