"Among those new properties is the spectacular Relais de Chambord. Built for the king's hunting hounds in the 1700s, the original house didn't have the benefit of modern upgrades, such as the rain showers, velvet-swathed headboards, or luxurious white linen sheets seen in today's guest rooms." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Very nice 4 star hotel with direct walking access to the grounds of the Chateau. Renovated in, I believe 2019. All the expected accoutrements plus controllable a/c...however we stayed in September and a little heat was needed but too early in the season for it. The a/c unit is cooling only. A Dyson electric heater was provided that worked fine. Any brekkie with smoked salmon gets my vote. Close to the hotel is a floating barge room that looked quite unique for the adventurous. Room 200 with view of the Chateau with a tall ceiling and the bed is featured in adverts.

We stayed at the Relais de Chambord for 2 nights of our 30 day road trip in Southern France. The service was outstanding and the breakfast was the best we experienced on our trip and we stayed in many luxury properties. Having the Castle so close was wonderful as we took our tour early before the tour buses and enjoyed 4 hours learning the history. Our room was on the top floor with a beautiful bath with shower and very comfortable. The valet parking was fast and very convienient.

We enjoyed our stay in the Realis de Chambord. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nice, even if we did not have views of the castle but of the river. Dinner at the restaurant was nice, good quality ingredients and good service. Excellent breakfast. Very good spa experience. Of course the best thing is the location, so close to the castle.

The room 102 was extremely small. Separate shower from the toilet. For the price of 400 eur per night I would have expected at least the air conditioning would have worked but it didn’t and they couldn’t / wouldn’t fix it. Gladly in May the nights were still cold so keeping the windows open was the only option. Location is good for the castle but there is not much else in the area.

Our family spent a superb stay at the Hotel Le Chambord. Spectacular location next to the historic castle and huge gardens of the national domain. We also enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast provided with high quality, tasteful, local products.

1. Receptionist on our arrival was very helpful. Thanks a lot for her efforts!||2. Restaurant kitchen is not up to the task. Its really difficult to spoil beef fillet but they succeeded. First piece was burnt, chewy and medium well instead of medium rare. Second piece was good by itself but once again rare instead of medium rare.||Sauce was quite harsh (didn't eat it). Truffle didn't have any expressed taste and could be omitted, especially concerning harsh sauce.||Dauphine potatoes were outstanding. Mont blanc, chestnuts and blackcurrants dessert is good, maybe a bit too sweet. Wine is ok.||Overall, I'd like to taste more of the rural simple french cuisine with the lean to high quality local products since it is really a tourist place. I can try grilled octopus literally everywere. But maybe its just me. Overall, I can't recommend the restaurant to anyone. ||3. Maybe it is not wise to try to charge more for the extra night from the quest who is already in the hotel, who booked the room by your own site and presumable know the prices stated on the site. Maybe it is coincidence but I wasn't convinced. Not very pleasant.||Overall we liked the stay, the room with the lake view a lot but the restaurant food was something...

The hotel is very nice, in a beautiful setting. It really is right next door to Chambord.||The rooms are nicely appointed and clean, but very small.||The arrival was very good - they took our bags and parked the car for us - and the bags were in the room before we finished check-in.||We had a drink in the bar as the sun set on Chambord. It was very pleasant.||||As it was Valentines we splashed out on dinner in the restaurant, which was a very big disappointment.||My wife is vegetarian so I had asked ahead if she could be catered to as well (I had no reply). ||||We had not been told, until we were sitting there would be no A la carte menu - only the gourmet tasting menu that night. Although they knew my wife was vegetarian, they had not made preparations - even the pre-placed menu was the standard one. In the end they did provide some food, but we're not really sure what - the serving staff didn't even know what all the dishes were.||||It seems the restaurant had tried too hard to take advantage of Valentines - squeezing in too many tables. There were not enough staff so the event dragged on for over 3 hours. guests started leaving.||||The staff were mostly neither pleasant or rude - I appreciate it's difficult to take time with guests when short staff - but for a culinary, romantic, dinner, in a fine restaurant one expects more attention and finese.||||So it's a stay of two halves unfortunately.||

Admirably placed at Chateau’s sight, on the small river. Easy access. Rather nice views on the Parc, gardens and water. Rooms are ok, a bit deceiving for a SLH though. Reception / guest services not very reactive. Spa (sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi outside) is tiny with only max 6’people that can visit contemporarily. Resting area too small. Restaurant only offered a brunch (no a la carte possibility) at Sunday lunch so couldn’t try it. Unfortunately extremely loud ventilation / water heating (?) so almost impossible to get a real rest. Prices do not match quality.

Yelp
This claims to be a four/five star hotel, but it's really not. The grounds are beautiful but the rooms are really plain. The on-site restaurant isn't very good--overpriced, mediocre food and not the kind of service you'd expect for the price and setting. The hotel double-charged me for a reservation and I had to escalate it to a director to get help reversing the charge. Overall, it feels like a budget hotel that happens to be in a beautiful setting. I would definitely recommend visiting the park (renting bikes or a boat) but staying somewhere else.
