For the ultimate beef entree lover, the three-pound tomahawk Relic ribeye is a steak that’s not to be missed. First time here and I will definitely be back! One of the specials was lobster risotto, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. My friend also really enjoyed her meal, and we both had a great time. Great food, great atmosphere, and wonderful overall experience!

We love coming here for special occasions—everything is always delicious! I especially love the crab soup and the salmon for the main dish. The portions are quite large; I never make it to dessert because I’m always full. I definitely recommend it!

Dan, our bartender/server was awesome! He made my husband's birthday so much more enjoyable. And the French Onion Soup was the best I've ever tasted.

The atmosphere is stunning! The staff treats you like royalty ( I loved it so much I joined the team! ) and the food is hands down top 5 in the area. The curated menu is extensive enough that everyone in the party can find something. Never had a bad bite ever! The seafood is amazing. The oysters are phenomenal and always have a great (small) selection. Chef Todd is passionate about what he does, and it shows. The best scallops I ever had! No TV in the bar encourages real conversations, and I love it. Every cocktail is crafted with top fresh ingredients. This is an amazing place where you can enjoy an app and drink, brunch, or treat yourself to a fine dining experience in this Bucks Co gem.

Great dining experience. We took my mother-in-law out to thank her for all she's done for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Great wine recommendations and the food was prepared perfectly. Her favorite food is a crab cake and a week later she is still exclaiming over them. The stakes were prepared exactly a as requested. I enjoyed their special seafood risotto and it was a great texture and consistency. She finished with the creme brulee cheesecake. It was creamy but not too dense. Overall, wonderful experience.

We just stopped by for a quick cocktail but ended up adding an order of truffle fries. The drinks were amazing and our bartender was very friendly. The fries were great, too!

A Birthday Dinner to Remember at Relic on State Street! Last night, I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Relic on State Street, and I must say, it was an experience I won’t soon forget. From the moment we walked in, the calming and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The service was nothing short of excellent. Each staff member treated us with such care and attention, ensuring that every detail was perfect. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food—each dish was a delight to the senses, masterfully prepared and bursting with flavor. It’s clear the chef and his team pour their hearts into every plate. What truly set Relic apart was the friendliness of everyone there. The chef and his team were incredibly welcoming, making us feel like part of the Relic family. This personal touch made my birthday dinner all the more special. I can’t recommend Relic on State Street enough. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just in the mood for a fantastic meal, this restaurant is a must-visit. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Relic for making my birthday unforgettable!

I am sad to be writing this review! We have been here with friends once years ago and it was amazing. For my husband’s birthday dinner over the weekend, I chose here as a special date night. We have a lot of kids and date nights are few and far between. I was debating between Rocco’s and Relic. I’m pretty disappointed in the choice I ended up making. While we had great drinks and appetizers, my husband’s expensive steak was basically inedible. It was so tough it just went in the trash. Unfortunately there was no effort to make this right. I always give credit where it is due. The creme brulee dessert was delicious. Based on them not either remaking the steak (even to take home at this price point) or comping part of the bill, this will be the second and last time we dine here. I did send a direct email about the experience through their website and gave it two days, nobody reached out to me. :(

Yelp
My wife and I had a date night yesterday and we decided to eat at this restaurant. This location has been several restaurants over the years with Relic being the last for almost 4 years. We both really enjoyed our dinner. I had their Halibut special, after hearing the people at the next table raving about the, and my wife had the scallops. They were both fabulous. The service was very good, except for a minor mistake at dessert time, when our brownie didn't come out until our server went to the kitchen to see what the problem was. She came back and kindly notified us that it was coming out and they were taking it off the bill. This was handled very professionally. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We have eaten here several times and the food was outstanding. On our most recent visit 5/11, the special appetizers burrata with arugula pesto and fried wonton chips was perfectly delicious, the prawns with with mango salsa, shrimp cooked perfectly, salsa was good but, clunky. Hanger steak special, steak was tough, lobster was cooked perfectly and had good flavor, crab cake was mushy and had entirely too much old bay, serving it in a bowl probably wasn't the best choice. The filet special with Gorgonzola, Gorgonzola was definitely cheap crumbles, filet was very mushy, mashed potatoes were either being held in a steamer or over cooked and watery, some of the asparagus was cooked perfectly some completely undercooked, sauce was watery and lifeless. Creme brûlée had a beautiful caramelized sugar too but, creme brûlée was very warm, no vanilla bean. Waitress was great very good, friendly, informative,, attentive, bus boy was equally as good! Not sure when we or if will be back

Yelp
A wonderful meal for Valentine's Day. The first floor of the restaurant was set up with tables for two a nice touch for the day. A pic is attached with the beautiful napkin rose. We typically eat upstairs. Our server was pleasant but new for us. Greg the owner stopped by as he normally does and we had a brief chat. A couple of cocktails a spicy Hawaiian Margarita and an Aviation. Both were perfect. We ordered a dozen oysters two types and they were clean and fresh. For mains we got the surf and turf and 8 oz. Filet. All perfectly prepared. My side was the Brussels sprouts and they were great but different from what I remember. Greg said that the new chef added chili aioli. It was a good add. We had a bottle of the Barolo from the wine list it was very good great bouquet and went well with our meals. This place never disappoints one of our regular stops in town. Mark & Nancy.

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful meal in the bar last night. Greg, the owner, is always extremely friendly and, most importantly, on-site and available. He's a great host. The scallops with wild mushroom risotto was one of the best meals I've had lately. My wife loved her classic wedge salad and brussels sprout starter. Simone and Mattie are both excellent bartenders. The entire restaurant was packed yet everything was kept on pace and on-point. It's an experience promised by many restaurants in the area but delivered by very few.

Yelp
We came with a group of 8 people, Very nicely decorated inside, Service was all right, a bit forgetfull, A bit slow. Food was OK, not bad, but for the price ,I'd expect a bit better. It is on a high side, of prices. Just a bit disappointed overall. As a combination of service , food and price did not match exactly right.

Yelp
Don't stay home on Mother's Day because you feel the food/service/ambiance is usually wanting. Relic will totally change your mind. We enjoyed brunch at Relic today and from the pleasant greeting upon entering to the very last drop of coffee, we could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone ordered a different dish and each one was prepared perfectly. We have had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at Relic but. this was our first time enjoying brunch here. And we were not disappointed. Made my Mother's Day!

Yelp
We had a great/pleasant experience here. Everyone was very friendly and inviting. It appears there is an interesting history, I overheard what I believe to be the manager speaking to a group about the history of the location/building. Wished I had heard more since history intrigues me. Hopefully next time we visit I will be able to. Now the food.... everything was delicious. Fresh and locally sourced which is especially important to my family to support restaurants like this. Everything was so good. I just wished there were a few more items on the menu geared towards kids. I also wish that the steaks came with at least one side. But the filet it was so tasty and did not require any sauce. The bread was even so good. The truffle fries were tasty. The creamed spinach was good, but wasn't exactly creamy. We will most certainly be back because it was just that good! I certainly hope this is a permanent addition to the historic Newtown area.

Kristen N.

Yelp
I'm reviewing based on customer service, as I have purchased a gift card and not dined there myself. I found the restaurant on Yelp, and noticed it's in a historic building in downtown Newtown. I also noticed it's quite new (definitely wasn't there when I lived there). So I thought it may make a great treat for my parents to enjoy dinner and drinks. I emailed them through the website to inquire about a gift card and received a reply within a few hours. The manager,Carol, instructed me to call at a certain time and she'd be available to place the order. The process was very smooth and she helped me figure out a good amount for the gift card based on menu prices. She mailed me the card, texted me a receipt and thanked me when I let her know it was received. I hope to update the review after my parents describe their experience!

Yelp
We had a.paety of 8 for my wife's birthday and we couldn't be happier. Our server (Amanda) was fantastic and all of the food was on point. We will definitely be back for future events and dinners !!

Thomas F.

Yelp
Stopped in for pre-dinner cocktails as we thought our reservations were for an earlier time and Simone & Cat (Kat?) made us immediately feel welcomed when we sat at the bar. The cocktails were spot on, the service was out of this world, and we got a peek into the restaurant. We wanted to try to convince our friends we were meeting for dinner to change plans to have dinner at Relic, but we didn't since we had reservations. We did however come back about 2 hours later with them for a night cap. The bar and building are so cool, chill and fun. Such a great time. We're definitely looking forward to coming back and exploring their full menu!!

Arthur B.

Yelp
Went there first time, ambience was nice, server was attentive and tried very hard to please, my wonderful date and I split a Caesar salad which was very tasty only wished the had anchovies to put on, my date had the halibut and said it was terrific and would order again and I had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly only it had a slight lighter fluid taste. We had drinks made properly and no desserts. We will come back.

Amber F.

Yelp
First time diners at the Relic. It was amazing. Food was phenomenal and service was great. Chris was our server and he was very attentive. He informed us about additions to the menu and always made sure our drinks were full. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Very disappointing. We were a party of 10 with a reservation on a Saturday night. Four of the 10 meals came out cold and undercooked. Steaks were served with scoops of garlic butter, but the butter didn't melt! How could the kitchen send out meals that are cold, especially at these prices???? One of the filets was ordered medium well and came out very rare. Both ribeyes were almost 1/2 fat (we expected some fat, but not this much). Sides were cold and relatively small. There were a couple of meals that were good. The service was average. Food delivery for both the appetizers and the entrees was done "auction" style - who had the filet, who had the ribeye, etc. Unacceptable for this style restaurant. Server never offered coffee or after-dinner beverages. Overall, for a $700 dinner for 10 people, we were all disappointed. We took a photo of the interior, as we probably won't see it again!!

B B.

Yelp
Salmon and halibut dishes were cooked to perfection. The service was above and beyond what I am use to. Cat and Simone ran the front room with ease and a great attitude. The bar room is without doubt historic and charming. The walls are lined with stone. The lighting behind the liquor bottles made it pleasing to look at. The cocktails were balanced and refreshing. The peach cobbler pie was served with whip cream. It was a perfect dessert for summertime.

Chris P.

Yelp
Best meal in a long time. Ate in bar which was fine. Fish cooked perfectly & my dad's steak still getting compliments days later. We'll return. Kudos to all at Relic.

Tony M.

Yelp
This place was nice! We were looking for an upscale place to eat that was close and this place hit the spot. Absolutely beautiful interior and decor. We went on a Sunday evening, we were surprised at how slow the place was, only a handful of tables had guests. The bread service at the table was absolutely wonderful. Piping hot fresh baked steamy bread was to die for. Started with crab bisque and a wedge salad, followed by a perfectly cooked medium rare ribeye steak, lobster gnocchi with Brussels sprouts and wild mushroom risotto. The gnocchi was a bit dry and the risotto had a slightly odd taste to it, glad we didn't get that as the meal. But props to the crew, the risotto isn't on the menu as a side, but they obliged when I asked if they could do that for us, we were grateful they did. We did not have enough room for dessert, but overall we were very pleased and will be back.

Cat M.

Yelp
Listen. This place is a gem. I cannot adequately explain how badly I want to keep coming here and taste test every item on this menu. My drink was amazing and I felt like I was on vacation. The ambiance made me feel like I was in Old City. Service was great. Every dish my party of 6 had was phenomenal and portions were generous. Those were some of the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. With love from a mashed potato addict.

Yelp
We were wined and dined by a wonderful warm and fuzzy Sasha at the bar on a snowy day. The owners Greg and Larry are hands on in every day restaurant activities. Food was amazing! Being from the new York city area this place doses not disappoint! Well worth the trip !

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful meal and experience at Relic! The restaurant has been updated and elevated to such an elegant space, while still maintaining the history of the building. The bartenders are exceptional - especially Shane and Simone! Our meal was prepared perfectly. Relic is easily the best steakhouse in the area! And their oysters were tender, fresh and so delightful! We ate inside but took a peek at the outdoor dining space. So charming! Highly recommended!

Dorina N.

Yelp
Food and drinks was subpar. Ordered halibut but it was not fresh and was water logged. Drinks to over 30 minutes to receive. Waitress was flighty and cared more about clearing the table than serving us.

Mike B.

Yelp
The food was good but it took almost an hour for it to come out. The brussels sprouts were delicious and my halibut was very good. My sisters fillet was pretty good as well. The drinks are very good here. My waitress was gorgeous so that made the way time a little bit better. All in all it was a good dinner for the first time coming to this place

Shane M.

Yelp
The best of the best. Great cocktails. Friendly staff! A place you wanna experience

Yelp
Well my son gave me and my wife a gift card for this restaurant which we never been there. So I made dinner reservations for April 6 at 5 o'clock for a birthday dinner for myself and my mother-in-law, my wife, my son, and his girlfriend and my brother-in-law.My birthday on April 6 and my mother in law is on the 7th. OMG what a dinner everyone loved it the atmosphere. The food was unbelievable and fantastic, our waitress was top notch she was great!! I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions or just sit by the bar and have a nice cocktail

Sarita K.

Yelp
As usual, Relic did not disappoint. The crab cake appetizer was as good as any I have had on Maryland's Eastern Shore. My friend had the wedge salad & devoured it & my husband had the tuna appetizer & made short work it it too. I had the veal chop & it was perfect. So large I had the rest for lunch the next day. The filet & ribeye steaks were a hit also. I don't want to forget to mention the cocktails & wine. We had a Negroni, a Whiskey Sour & a bottle of Decoy Cab & instead of dessert we opted for Chocolate Martinis. Yum! The ambience is lovely. Quiet but comfortable. And our server Kaitlyn was amazing. Greg the owner stopped by to chat as we were finishing up our meal & gave us some background on the building's history. Couldn't be happier with Relic.

Caren S.

Yelp
This was my first time at Relic and it was outstanding. Our server Katlin made us feel welcome and was fantastic the whole night I love the way the place looked, it was very classy. The food was delicious and the cocktails were perfection! The only problem I found was I couldn't decide what to eat. Everything looked and sounded delicious. I can't wait to go again.

Lynne S.

Yelp
We were a party of 4 on February 17, 2023. Our bill was $457.00 which is fine as we enjoyed our meals very much. The gnocchi and Halibut were delicious as was our friends steaks. Appetizers of Prawns and salads were equally as good. Drinks were perfect especially the limoncellos for after dinner. Our only problem with this restaurant is that they do not respond to any calls or emails. Our drink prices were taxed along with the food and I know this should not be the case. When I called and left messages for the manager to return my call it was crickets. I would hope the owner would see to this concern of mine as we would love to return to his establishment. So beware customers that they do not charge a six percent fee on your drinks.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The food was ok - the service horrendous. Our reservation was for 8.... They didn't seat us till 8:40 - the manager just said "thanks" then we never saw him again. Half the items were out ( well obviously we were waiting so long) the server was harmless but clueless - we got our appetizers - at 9:20 and our drinks at 9:30..... main dishes we waited till 10:30 - and my filet mignon was over cooked. We left it was almost 12 - and not by our choosing. This cannot be called an upscale restaurant while not actually being one. Too expensive for what you get.

Sue C.

Yelp
We live in Newtown so were happy to see another restaurant trying to make it in this revolving door location. We all wanted to love our experience here but sadly, it was a huge disappointment. Visited on a recent Sunday night at 5:30 and sat in the upstairs dining area where the bar is (the upstairs bar was not open our visit). Pretty room. We ordered 4 drinks and waited 15+ minutes for them to arrive. We all ordered the special. A few minutes later, the waiter returned to say they were out of the special . . . had 2 left. Mind you the restaurant opened at 5:00 and was nearly empty, so how they ran out is a mystery. The two guys re-ordered something else. Five minutes later, the waiter returned to say that they were out of whatever my husband re-ordered. Waited a little too long for salads to arrive but they looked good. Unfortunately, my friend found herself chewing on a piece of paper towel in her salad, and a minute later I got the same 'treat' in mine. The waiter took them all away and we said we didn't want more. Meal finally came and was decent. Portions were average. Wanted to order additional glasses of wine but waiter nowhere to be found. Finally, as we finished our meals, the manager came over and said he was told there were some "issues" with our meals. We explained the above, emphasizing that we were all pulling for the restaurant to make it because we're residents of Newtown, but the experience was unacceptable thus far. He offered to comp us desserts, but we were having dessert at home so politely declined. He sent them out anyway, forcing us to make a choice to eat them, box them, or waste the food. We chose to eat them. At the very least, he should have comped us our drinks, or taken a portion off the bill, but simply serving us desserts we said we didn't want didn't leave a good taste in our mouth for returning anytime soon, if ever.

Myesha P.

Yelp
The food is delicious and made with love. The staff is great and the chef Todd is AMAZING! Kelsey our waitress is nice and pleasant. I'm never disappointed and this place has become one of my favorites.

Neil G.

Yelp
First time there. Very good. Veal chop was excellent and my wife's fillet was perfect.

N C.

Yelp
Great food & ambience. I have been here for dinner multiple times and once for brunch. The food is better than Rocco's, especially the brunch, with a larger menu. The omelettes, avocado toast and steak sandwich were excellent during our most recent visit. I can not believe a few bad reviews purely because a few people had to wait for their food to come out, when every restaurant is currently short staffed. If you want fast food go to Wendy's down the street.

Lynda L.

Yelp
Started out good, cozy ambiance, thinking we made a good decision trying out a new restaurant. Food was expensive and not cooked well. Management spent the night avoiding our table. Didn't even try to make things right. Will not return.

Mike M.

Yelp
We ate there last night. Service was SLOW. Waited almost 90 min for dinner to come out. Dinner was ok. My vegetables came out after I was almost done my meal. My friend could not eat her hamburger. Very disappointing. This will not be a place I go back to ..... Expensive, not worth the money. and to top it off.. the owner did not approach any tables... he saw we were sitting for a very long time and decided it was better to be a bus boy .... On the good side .. it was our friends anniversary ... they gave us dessert on the house... but that did not make up for a bad experience....

Tom P.

Yelp
Four of us had dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. We sat on the second floor in this historic building. Our server was very attentive and nice. Our entrees included a NY. Strip steak, salmon, halibut and lobster gnocchi. We were all pleased with our choices. Our dinners were finished off with desserts made in-house and Italian coffees...a great evening. The restaurant is on the pricey side, but we'll worth it for a special occasion.

Helena M.

Yelp
This was our first visit but it won't be our last. The food and drinks were excellent and our server was very professional. The owner introduced himself and could not have been more welcoming. The ambience was very relaxing, we loved the fact that it was possible to have a quiet conversation which is not the case in alot of restaurants. All in all, a perfect evening.

Mary V.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant on a Sunday with a reservation. The restaurant was near empty. I now know why . It was tastefully decorated and had a lovely server. The prices of the food were exorbitant! My fish was about 3.5 ounces , prepared perfectly and delicious. I am not a big eater but was surprised that it did not include even a few vegetables. Not even a carrot?. It was presented by itself on a plate with a lemon purée. I ordered a beet salad. It consisted of beets and perhaps a few crumbles of goat cheese. That is it. This is Newtown not NYC. $38.00 for halibut. $15.00 for a salad ? The rent in this place must be much lower than our crazy Village Shopping Center. If these people want to stay in business they need to make some changes fast . I really wanted this to be a success. Enough with the pretensions.

Bill D.

Yelp
Food was VERY GOOD, however, the food prep time was an absolute DISGRACE. 2 + hours from our reservation time to serving our main entree. And it took 20 minutes (!) to take our drink order. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION overall. I hate to blast this restaurant, but I can't ever see us going back again.

Hope K.

Yelp
We had a dinner party for 16 people for my mother's 70th birthday last weekend. If I could rate this restaurant higher than 5 stars I definitely would! The food and drinks were phenomenal and our server, Stephanie, was fantastic! Everyone had a wonderful time. Can't wait to go back again!!

Kay G.

Yelp
We loved everything about the milestone birthday dinner for our sister tonight. Staff were friendly, accommodating, professional. Our server Sarah was so pleasant and no request was too much. Food was excellent.

Karen R.

Yelp
Our first time at Relic for Valentine's Day. Everything was perfect!! Our waitress, Mason, was so friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable of menu and very attentive. Food was amazing!! I had the filet with a side of grilled asparagus. My husband had the diver scallops over mushroom risotto. No complaints! Not one complaint!! Will definitely be coming back again.

Gina D.

Yelp
So delicious! Amazing wine list and atmosphere! The Paraduxx red wine is our favorite! The steak was fantastic and we came back again and had the lobster gnocchi and it was soooo delicious.

Cori O.

Yelp
We love Relic! The food and the staff are both awesome! I recommend trying the risotto, it is to die for!

Rose M.

Yelp
Phenomenal - From the bartender downstairs to our Ribeye steaks. This is our replacement for Rocco's. I do wish they had more options for appetizers but maybe they'll expand that soon?! Can't say anything negative! Our waitress was OKKKAAYY but everything else was phenomenal!

Peggy B.

Yelp
Went there with friends last week and it was outstanding! We all had different apps, and entrees - veal chop, scallops, steak, shrimp, oysters, salad. Every dish was great! We went when it first opened, but nothing compared to now with Chef Todd! Highly recommend it!

Tabitha M.

Yelp
Delicious food, great drinks and really friendly staff. Great new spot for the neighborhood!

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Our new favorite local restaurant. Service has greatly improved since they opened a year ago. Love the decor and atmosphere. Cocktails are awesome. Tuna app is delicious. Burger is insanely amazing. Brussels sprouts are terrific. Steaks are another sure bet. If you haven't been yet, you are missing out!

Cass L.

Yelp
Went to Relic last night, party of 3. Wonderful experience with staff, Our waitress Tracey was so attentive and helpful. Food was delicious, Signature cocktails were excellent. Only one disappointing item for my meal. I had gone on their website and looked at the menu, The picture of the Double Bone Pork Chop on their Entree menu was the reason Myself and my guest were enticed to try out this new Restaurant. It was nothing liked it looked in the picture. It was served in a small dish with a white sauce and peppercorns , Lot smaller then shown. For $39.00, I thought maybe I had gotten the wrong entree, even pulled up the website on my phone and showed my friends. It was tasty but disappointing as to what I thought I was getting. Relic needs to update pictures on website, it was deceiving. Desserts were excellent. Good luck to the Relic, but like I said update your website.

Jen M.

Yelp
Unfortunately we were disappointed, and embarrassed again because we had guests with us. We have given it three tries because we love the atmosphere, but the food and service are terrible. Waitress was MIA the whole time. We asked for menus and she brought 2 dinner menus for 4 people. We asked for dessert menus and she brought 1 for 4 people. The menu is lacking- need more appetizers, and more varied entrees. The mushroom/onion side dish was excellent but the mashed potato and creamed spinach portions were about 2 tablespoons. Steaks should offer sauces as an option. There were no specials. Menu needs help. Service needs training. Very disappointing.

Melech F.

Yelp
Legitimately the best food in Bucks County. Relic is a brand new restaurant in Newtown so my wife and I stopped in for a glass of wine and a bite. The ambiance is lovely - historic yet modern and welcoming. Our server, Tony the manager, and even the Chef were all extremely attentive. I started off the meal with a delicious cocktail. Their wine list is excellent - they had one of our favorite Pinot Noirs from the Anderson Valley in CA. Tony recommended the Relic burger and we are so glad we listened. It was one of the best burgers I've had period, including the last ten years living in Manhattan. I ordered it medium rare - it was cooked perfectly and the quality of the meat was excellent. The bacon it came with was thick cut, almost pork belly in the best way possible, and potatoes were crispy wedges. Newtown needs an establishment like Relic - we are grateful to Chef Greg and his team for a delicious meal and for launching a restaurant at the tail end of Covid. This instantly became our new local spot.
